The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms are a little "tired" and need some refurbishing, but that is minor and did not affect our stay in the least.
- Stefano (9/5): A peaceful retreat close to the city. - Location is very quiet although a stone's throw from R27 West Coast Road. The speed hump signpost oddly placed where the parking bays are outside the hotel. Also, all speed humps on the estate are unmarked and constructed with similar brick paving as to the roads, which makes them difficult to see. Suggest that road marking paint be applied.

- Andrew (9/5): - Rooms overlook the 10th fairway.. Ground floor rooms have a covered patio…so are a little dark. Upstairs rooms have same aspect but are lighter…but no external seating. Staff are very attentive. Nice pool and gym area. Clubhouse is very nice.. Estate security is excellent. Reasonable walking path around estate perimeter and on golf course outside of hours. Lodge residents get reduced green fees.

The lodge seriously needs an upgrade, to match the standard of the ABE Clubhouse facilities. It really was disappointing to experience the lodging was nowhere near the level of the Clubhouse.

- Bruno (5/5): Special expierence at golf yard - Location within the golf yard is very nice with walking opportunities and some facilities on site. Some animals can be observed at site. Breakfast was ok and sufficient but selection limited and rather noisy due to TV. The room and the bathroom in the small hotel were rather aged and outdated. Cleanness could also be better. The impression given by the pictures of the golf yard are misleading and not fully applicable to the hotel. The golf yard restaurant is of limited quality. Restaurants are at the waterfront in some km distance.

Was surprised to see they have filter coffee on offer in the rooms with a plunger, it made my morning very special to enjoy a cup of good filter coffee on my patio, over looking the golf course while the players setting off. A pitty that the spa bath was not working.

Windows in the shower with no blinds / covering. No bottled water in the room. Giant cable running randomly through the room. Should not have a 4 star lodge rating . No back up water (could not shower the one morning .

- Marek (3/5): Poor - If someone wants a location away from the hustle and bustle, this is a good place. In the immediate vicinity of the golf course. According to the description and name I expected a 4* hotel. I have no idea why it was defined as a 4 star hotel. Breakfast very poor. Everything old, made at the cheapest cost. Everything is disappointing. From the entrance door, which is difficult to open, through the noisy air conditioner, the leaky door to the room, the metal windows from a previous era or the bathtub that doesn't work.

- Michelle (8/5): comfortable stay and great location - The lodge is set on a golf estate in Melkbossstrand, the location was great as it was close to where we needed to be. We enjoyed a drink and the view at the golf course club house.
