- Matthew (10/5): - Excellent experience. Lovely location and fun unique renovation. Very clean and comfortable. Perfect staff. You’re on your own for parking if you bring a car, but there are underground public parking garages nearby. Located very close to a primary romantic dinner locations on the street, with live music in the evenings, but still quiet inside, from the concrete construction. I would return to the same location.
- Sally (6/5): - The staff was friendly but when my friends had trouble with their AC (it did not work .. and it was 35 degrees C outside!) the hoyel staff did nothing. They had to spend two nights in a hot room
- PAMELA (2/5): - The hotel claims to be 5 Stars… not at all :( The hotel is more like a 3 star establishment. From the first day we arrived our A/C didn’t work. We reported the issue and got the run around. The staff were completely unhelpful; claiming that the unit was in perfect working condition. The staff did nothing to correct the situation. We spent two HORRIBLE nights there. With so many better options in Porto for the same price I would never stay there again.

The hotel is located right in the middle of wonderful restaurants and entertainment, but is quiet and peaceful inside the staff was incredible and gave us wonderful recommendations while in Porto. The interior of the building was equally wonderful. The architecture and design particularly.
- Sunil (2/5): - This property is highly overrated and not luxurious at all, even though the name suggests so. They offer complementary tea bags in the room. When I asked them for milk and sugar to drink with the tea, their staff asked me to pay 2 euros for milk. Their management does not know that half the world drinks tea with milk and sugar, even though they are in hospitality business. We paid 300+ Euros for a room that was so small that you can hardly stand in it. The bed frame is oversized and takes 90% of the space in the room. Never again would I choose a place like this to stay in Porto!
- Franco (8/5): - The property is amazing in its design of the room and common areas,, which espouses amazing old walls with modern materials. Unique! One of the three most beautiful hotels I have ever visited, but the service does not meet the same standard as the design. Part of the shower did not work for 2 days, they are stingy with toilet paper (you should bring your own!), the apartment was 55 steps up the stairs, etc. etc etc.

My husband had a birthday and although we don’t except any extras, this was the very first hotel that not mentioned it at all, yet saying how much the personal touch is important to them. First day we had to leave early for a tour, we were told by day employee that it was not possible to arrange something earlier then 8 when breakfast officially starts. The evening shift made it possible. Where is the problem? On the other hand, perfect, quiet location and breakfast .

- Seaside16729074855 (10/5): Magical stay at Armazen Luxury Housing in Porto - Where do I start with this incredible little hotel. Might be my all time favorite or all the vacations I have had. The beds were luxurious. The location was second to none. It was literally in the middle of everything. The staff was so accommodating. The breakfast was perfect with everything you could want. It was very quiet. We switched rooms because we got into a car accident and had to stay an extra night and both room were fabulous! The staff suggestions on neighborhoods to see and shops to visit were also perfect. 5 stars about the decor, aesthetics, accommodations, cleanliness, staff, food, location. We will tell everyone we know to stay at the Armazen!

- 435collings (10/5): A delightful experience staying in this hotel - We had a lovely stay here in a room overlooking a lively street with musicians and singers. When we closed the door on our balcony our room became quiet. We read it was one of the prettiest streets in Porto and we would agree. We liked the clever architecture and we had plenty of room, with a lounge off the bedroom. The breakfasts were delicious and served on white linen runners with pretty dried flowers on the plates. The marble cake was delicious. The staff were charming and extremely helpful. We would certainly encourage anyone to experience staying with them.

- piag56 (10/5): a wonderful discovery !!! an hotel which makes the difference for a wonderful stay ! - A wonderful discovery. a hotel that meets all requirements. its location in the historic district, at the end of a pedestrian street, close to the Louis Bridge, the quays, and the main tourist sites, is a major asset. its past as a former industrial building is evident in its transformation into a luxury hotel residence. the raw concrete walls where the architect deliberately left the imprints of the formwork boards recall this industrial past. the decoration of shared spaces, rest room, corridors, reception is carefully studied. the rooms are decorated in the same way. the room reserved for breakfast lit by a skylight shows how the architect was able to make the most of a space limited in width. a terrace located at the very top of the building gives a nice view of the clergy tower and other monuments. all this would be nothing without the welcome and kindness of the hotel staff, attentive to all requests. a big thank you to the whole team who made this stay in Porto unforgettable. Everything about the hotel was exceptional, from the warm welcome (with early check in) and detailed orientation of the city to a fantastic daily breakfast. - RLA1016 (6/5): Unfortunately disappointing - This review is of the apartments, we stayed in the largest one at the top. We had a friendly and helpful reception but it went downhill from there. The apartment is not very private (the 2 bedrooms are separate but not with actual walls) and is quite dark. It is not appropriate for families with young children or those who have trouble with stairs. Inside there are several levels and it is a 4-story (5 for Americans) walk-up. It is located up the pedistrian street from the hotel so you have to walk back for breakfast (which is quite good with friendly service). The biggest problem was maintenance...our shower flooded on our last morning and since we had no time to wait for a plumber my husband looked at the drain which had obviously not been cleaned in a good while so he had to it himself to avoid even more flooding! Then, we went to put our luggage in the "luggage only" elevator and it stopped working. They did come to fix but couldn't so we had to carry everything down. Although it is in a pedestrian only street there is a parking garage not too far away. As for location, it is very centrally located for what most want to do. It also seemed a bit crass to have to pay for coffee pods! This place needs some revamping service-wise.

The breakfast service is very well organized and the food is excellent. The furniture is very well introduced into the space and makes anyone fall in love with what they see. All the people who welcomed us at the hotel were very friendly and gave us the best possible experience. I recommend it 100% and I will definitely repeat the stay again.
- JuanFM82 (6/5): Overpriced and not to nice - We paid over 280EUR per night hoping to get a quality service during our honeymoon and it was the worst mistake in our entire trip. This is one of those hotels that charges a lot because it has an excellent location. But location isn’t everything. Let me explain everything. Check-in: when we arrived, they said we made a reservation on expedia using AMEX and they didn’t accept it, so I needed to get cash of a visa credit card. I guess not accepting AMEX is ok, but they could have either mention this in the expedia page or written a message to us in advance to let us know. Gladly, my wife had a corporate VISA (now she will have to explain her boss, but I guess its not the end of the world). In general, the woman was super rude because we arrived one our earlier. It isn’t our fault that our flight schedule wasn’t convenient for her and we didn’t demand for an early check in. When she said she didn’t have the room the ready, all I asked for was a restroom to wash my face and a charger in some public area. She wasn’t pleased. The room isn’t what it looks like in the pictures. Pictures are super misleading. The light in the room is poor, you can’t easily raise the curtains, and there is a lot of noise (even in the third floor). Something shocking: when you pay almost 300 EUR per night, it is at least customary in the hotel industry to leave a free bottle of water per night. They don’t. What is worse, there is a Nespresso coffee machine in the room, and they only give you the first pod for free (which wasn’t even nespresso, but a copy), and then they charge it. They told me that was “the welcome drink”. Breakfast was the only good thing. The guy working at the hotel when the woman isn’t there was also nicer. But seriously, for 300 EUR a night, go to a larger chain or get an AIRBNB. We stayed at hotels within this budget in 4 different cities for our honeymoon. This was clearly the mistake in what otherwise could have been a perfect honeymoon.
- Juan (4/5): - We paid over 280EUR per night hoping to get a quality service during our honeymoon and it was the worst mistake in our entire trip. This is one of those hotels that charges a lot because it has an excellent location. But location isn’t everything. When we arrived, they said we made a reservation on expedia using AMEX and they didn’t accept it, so I needed to get cash of a visa credit card. I guess not accepting AMEX is ok, but they could have either mention this in the expedia page or written a message to us in advance to let us know. Gladly, my wife had a corporate VISA (now she will have to explain her boss, but I guess its not the end of the world). In general, the woman was super rude because we arrived one our earlier. All I asked for was a restroom to wash my face and a charger in some public area. She wasn’t pleased. The room isn’t what it looks like in the pictures. Pictures are misleading. The light in the room is poor, you can’t easily raise the curtains, and there is a lot of noise (even in the third floor). The neighborhood and breakfast are fine, but for this price, and in light of the service, I recommend something else.

- thierryb748 (6/5): Nice hotel, well located,but... - This hotel is a former factory turned into a Lofty kind of building. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is new and very clean. However, our room, that was not so cheap, was small and dark since the only window was opening over a small inter court. It would of been wise from the staff to upgrade us into a better room since there was only us and another couple in the hotel during that weekend. Due to COVID, the breakfast, that was excellent, was served in the room but no table was present in the room. It makes no sense to send two persons into our room to deliver the breakfast when a dining room was available downstairs while no one is present in the hotel. We had to seat on our bed and use the luggage stand to eat. All this in a dark room were the natural light is very poor and the artificial lighting insufficient. Unfortunately, not going the extra mile will make us not coming back

- shackelton (10/5): Excellent boutique hotel in a great location - We stayed three nights in this very unique boutique hotel (located in an old iron factory and warehouse) located just a couple blocks uphill from the riverfront amidst lots of restaurants and near the tourist sites. Our interior room was comfortable (although it could have used some additional lighting), with good wifi, a very nice shower, and all the amenities you could want. The breakfast buffet (with bacon and eggs to order) was plentiful and delicious. And the staff was fist rate. Highly recommended if you're looking for a unique property with a great location and great service.
- hrs1026 (10/5): Superb B&B - Extremely well located on a pedestrian street several blocks from the river, this converted iron works and warehouse is an excellent place to stay in Porto. While the decor is somewhat industrial chic, it is neither cold nor uncomfortable as some such places can be. In fact it is quite warm, comfortable and friendly. Our third floor room overlooked the cathedral. It was very comfortable with a platform bed, plenty of room for storage, and a great bathroom with a large walk in shower. There were a number of comfortable communal spaces and a terrace on the top floor overlooking the square. The staff were extremely friendly and quite helpful with all of our needs and questions. And the breakfasts were exceptional with an excellent buffet spread of fresh fruit, breads, cheeses and much more. Furthermore they provided eggs to order and wonderfully thin crisp bacon. No complaints or issues whatsoever. Would stay there again for sure and recommend without the slightest reservation. One of the nicest and most comfortable B&Bs we have stayed at.

Walk in shower was a highlight of the room along with the views from the balcony on the 3rd floor. Would happily stay here again

Based on past reviews, I agree that this hotel is located in a centralized location where you are close to all the restaurants, shopping, port wine cellars (across the river) and walking distances to many landmarks. The staff at Armazem were excellent. Very helpful and supportive. They helped arrange several requests during our stay (car rental, walking tours, laundry service, taxi arrangements) without hesitation as well as make some great recommendations on what to visit. The whole staff was great, especially Sofia, who made sure we were comfortable during our stay.

Really enjoyed our stay with friends. Minus points. They charged us for milk for room coffee and capsules for the room coffee machine which we felt was mean. Also the wood and stone bed edges are sharp and need rounding off - my wife badly skinned her shin one morning.

Sophia and the entire staff were extremely helpful and friendly, including helping us plan an itinerary and make restaurant/activity reservations for our limited time in beautiful Porto. The location couldn’t have been better, in the middle of town within walking distance of everywhere you’d want to visit. The breakfast was delicious, carefully curated, and beautifully presented. Hay que llevar poca ropa, eso sí, porque la moderna habitación no tiene armario, tiene un mueble con cajones y una pequeña barra para perchas, insuficiente para 2 feísimas un fin de semana. Todo lo demás perfecto, precioso y muy agradable.

You walk out into a pedestrian plaza full of stores and cafes and just a 5 minute walk to the river and main tourist attractions. What makes this hotel really stand out is their attention to detail and great customer service. They are at the level of any 5 star luxury hotel in this regard. The breakfast buffet is also very good. The building is soundproof, with a relaxing cozy decor, so it's the perfect escape after a full day of sightseeing in the very busy Porto tourist areas.

- Phillip (10/5): Brand new hotel - It was the first night the hotel was open. The architecture is very cool, a mixture of the old iron warehouse it used to be and the brand new super modern. The staff was super attentive. The breakfast was fantastic. Two issues: hot water wasn't hot and the computer wouldn't take credit cards at checkout. We would go back in a minute because of everything and the location.
