• Vincent (4/5): Teleurstellend! - Het landhuis ligt heel rustig, in het groen, naast een golfbaan. Hel bleek dat wij de enige gasten waren. Om 18:00 ging het personeel weg en zaten wij tot de volgende ochtend alleen in het landhuis. De verwarming was uit, het was ijzig koud: we hebben 's avonds en 's ochtends met jassen aan in de kamer gezeten. Er was geen drankje of iets anders te krijgen. Het restaurant was uiteraard ook gesloten. Communicatie met het personeel was heel moeizaam omdat ze totaal geen engels begrepen (wat ik wel verwacht van hotelpersoneel). Had ik dit geweten, dan had ik nooit dit hotel uitgezocht!

She got me organized, found a fine restaurant nearby and was very friendly. All much appreciated. I think her name was Elene or something like that. Sorry to have misplaced that info. Het is een wat gedateerd herenhuis. Onze badkamer was gerenoveerd. De slaapkamer brengt je terug naar de zestiger jaren van de vorige eeuw. Alles heeft zo zijn charme als je ervan houdt.

• Sue (7/5): Peaceful but low key chateau with views towards Paris - Slightly shabby but with character. Dinner on terrace was enjoyable. We had a gorgeous big room with lovely bathroom. Weird area - seemed a bit like an industrial estate on the edge of a golf course.

They give me a room in the south top part, very hot, no air conditioning in the whole place which I understand but also no ventilator available! Opening the windows makes a lot of bugs comes in. The curtain was very small and I was awake at 5 am from the light. Spiders all over the place, I was sting by one. The under sheet was a cheap ikea ( plastic) which made the whole sleeping experience in this weather horrible

The only big disappointment was: No water in the morning! There was a totally unannounced cut of the water supply. So taking a shower or wet shaving was impossible.

• Philippe (5/5): "Auberge" de l'Hermitage - Both bedroom and bathroom are very spacious, clean and welcoming. The surroundings are nice and nested in a very quiet location with the caveat mentioned below. The view of the chateau on the site can give the impression of a high-class offering, but the reality is quite tuned down and not reflected by what you see. I noticed several points that could benefit, if addressed, the overall experience: - The main entry door of the chateau is rubbing against the title floor of the entry way which makes it hard to open and close leading guests to slam it hard, generating an unwelcoming rumble through the chateau. - On Thursdays, the delivery truck arrives sometime before 6:00am. The beeping sound of a truck backing up along with the associated noises of downloading the goods, moving them with an electric dolly on an uneven surface generate an unexpected early morning unpleasant wake-up call just under your bedroom windows. - Both the bedroom and the bathroom could benefit from having paper tissues available to guests. - A small trash can in the bedroom would be a good addition. - The breakfast is very disappointing. In a place where the nearby villages offer a large choice of excellent artisan croissants and pain of chocolats, the ones served feel like they come from a local cheap supermarket or a croissant in a can. Same with the orange juice that could have been made fresh. - The dîner menu offers some excellent dishes, but it is the same menu every evening, which is quite disappointing when you stay several days as we did. Given that the short dish offering list includes several choices of hamburgers, it is a bit of a setback in a country known for its culinary richness and from a chateau.

• Anita (9/5): Romantic countryside location in the hills of Pontoise - We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and all the staff during our stay were very courteous and kind, always giving extra effort above and beyond our expectations to ensure our stay was perfect and enjoyable. They also gave us helpful tips on places to visit in the local area. We ate dinner a few times during our stay, and the food was always creatively presented and tasted excellent, cooked to a high standard and often better than the same dishes offered in Paris. It was served in a very pleasant setting, outside under the trees. The breakfast was also lovely with a good selection of bread & pastries, fresh fruit juices, jam, honey, meat and cheese. The coffee was superb and you could also choose to have your eggs as an omelette or fried. Our room was large and spacious with lots of natural light coming from the tall windows, overlooking the trees and with views far across the valley. We appreciated having lots of cupboard space to store our clothes during the stay. The bathroom was also spacious with a bath and separate shower, with fluffy towels and a complimentary bathrobe. The bed was comfortable too, with an extra pillow if needed. The hotel is located on top of a hill, very quiet and calm and really nice for those wanting to come and relax. We took the opportunity of using the excellent e-bikes provided by the hotel and enjoyed a few days exploring the nearby towns and countryside. The village of Pontoise is only a 5min drive away, or a 30min walk if you are travelling without a car. Honestly, everything was perfect and we could not have wished for a better stay. We would highly recommend this location to other travellers!

Très belle architecture extérieure, une demeure massive dans un bel environnement boisé. Malheureusement, l'intérieur n'est pas à la hauteur ! vieillot, une rénovation est nécessaire pour tout "rafraîchir", confort correct sans plus. Les produits de la salle de bain pour la toilette sont réduits à leur plus simple expression ! pas de brosse pour le wc, pas de plateau d'accueil, pas de bouilloire, wifi défaillant, pdj cher, menu resto très peu varié avec hamburgers essentiellement ! pas de petit coffre, literie moyenne... rapport qualité/prix moyen

The hotel is very quiet, northing noisy around just the nature. The room a bit dusty, the furniture outdated but in line with the name "chateau". The most bothering issue was the smell from the kichen in the room.

• HASSAN G (2/5): Es un ROBO - Quiero actualizar mi reseña ya que estoy sumamente molesto, como ya lo había comentado al llegar la habitación estaba fria, pudieron encender antes la calefacción para recibirnos, el primer dia escribi esto y al siguiente dia la señora de la recepción me abordo para reclamarme porque habia escrito esto, al llegar a la habitación no se resurtio de papel higiénico y al hacer el check out nos cobraron un desayuno que NO CONSUMIMOS y no lo consumimos porque al bajar NO HABIA NADA aun y que lo hicimos a las 9 am solo tenían como 2 salchichas y frijoles es un ROBO, NO RECOMIENDO VENIR AQUI, ademas elegimos este lugar para descansar y desde antes de las 8am se escucha demasiado ruido, NO SE HOSPEDEN AQUI ES UN ROBO!!
• Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Love, love, loved our accommodation. We initially wanted to stay in Auvers, but was booked out. Got onto Bookings that same day and found Hotel Chateau de l Hermitage. How grateful are we that fate dealt us this stay. Our room in the Chateau was lovely and old world. Huge windows and shutters opened to lovely gardens. Room was decorated beautifully. Bathroom was lovely. Bedding was comfortable. Room was large, clean and wonderfully quiet. Grounds were also heavenly. Breakfast both mornings were yummy. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our favourite accommodation for the three weeks we were in France. Thank you from two happy Australians.

It was located well for us as we wanted something on the way to Paris after we left Peronne, but maybe not well located for much. The room had no kettle and no fridge which was a little disappointing, but perhaps this is more of a requirement if you're English! Otherwise it was good.

Not everywhere perfect maintained, but ok and clean. Bathroom is not the most modern I have seen. The hot water is not running fast and not really hot. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very good. Some of the staff are walking on (high) heels and that makes a lot of noise in the old building with wooden floors. In general I would say the price is too high for a total stay included with the breakfast.

No flowers or flower pots in the garden (in France!!), no coffee/tea service in the room, no portable fan (no A/C OK, but no fan?) And the entrance drive goes thru an industrial area. No shops or cafes in walking distance. So with all that, overpriced. It's too bad. Like I said, lovely property
