- Jamie (8/5): Overall, wonderful stay. If it was too expensive, we would definitely stay there again. - The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was very good (we loved the waffles that were in little bags.). The bed was super comfy. I didn’t love the pillows and the price for the room was a lot.

- Lisa (6/5): It was underwhelming. Didn’t even ask how our stay was upon checking out at front desk. - Breakfast was ok. Eggs are not great at all. Selection wasn’t bad but more fresh fruit would be nice. Room was clean and we liked the layout. The mattress in our room needs to be replaced. The side near the bathroom has a major divot worn into it. The air conditioner makes annoying noises every time it kicks on which wakes you through the night. The hottest setting in the shower was just barely warm and with it being an open shower (no door) I was cold throughout my shower. The disposal in the room needs cleaning….smells bad.

Being a bit far from university commute is difficult unless you have a car or someone is there to drive you around. The suit rooms have all the necessary amenities. The property being a favourite for the students, the maintenance of the rooms are not very good. A damp smell was there in my room probably from the carpet or the dishwasher. The staff was very polite and was ready to support.

Staff explained I could extend but would require switching room types, staying in one room one night and a second room the second night. $50 upcharge from the cost of the original room l (both booked on weekdays). The next morning it was explained the new room needed to be cleaned, the switch would need to take place after 11am. I told the staff that I would be back at 5pm and “don’t give my room away!” Haha, right? I arrived back at 5pm and was told the room was no longer available and I was being moved back to my original room. The room had not been cleaned between check-out and check-in. Hotel did not set clear expectations, had me carry around my luggage all day, and then placed me in a dirty room after charging an increased rated. Manager spoke to me via the front desk attendant with no resolution. Disappointed. Mold in the bathroom. Long hair covering shower wall on arrival. Soap dispensers need to be cleaned.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs updated and cleaned better - The shower had mold in the corners, very run down in the hall ways, stain on comforter, carpet old, hotel elevator keys were so worn hard to tell the numbers of the floors, not good selection of breakfast, mattress uncomfortable, sink would not drain in bathroom. Not sure how the hotel had the higher ratings it does but we would not stay here again for the price we paid.

- Julie (4/5): - We arrived at the hotel at 5:00 till 4:00 in our room was not ready. We had to wait a half an hour. Once we got in the room there were no blankets or sheets or pillows for the pull out bed.

I’ve never stayed at a hotel without a blow dryer, so, we definitely didn’t bring ours. Unfortunately, the staff was unable to find one we could use. He did mention they were on back order and I understand that is not their fault at all. I ended up using the AC vent to dry my hair. Staff was super kind and breakfast was great. Wonderful hotel.

- Kenneth (8/5): - Everything was great except one major issue: since this is a college town, guests can be VERY loud on weekends. The staff on Friday night should try to be more proactive about asking guests to be quieter at night. There was, for example, an extremely loud group of students outside the hotel near the front door until 6am. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they admitted that it’s a problem but they need to try to solve the problem also.

- Lowell (4/5): - I’ve always stayed at TownePlace suites in Auburn for its convenience and its neighboring shopping options this particular time my sweet the refrigerator bottom was not cleaned. The bathroom sink was stopped up, and there was no Internet on the television in the bedroom. In addition, then a Marriott rewards member, the front desk attendant did not provide much flexibility when it came to asking for a late check out. this visit gets a 2.5 stars review.

There were several wet spots on the carpeted floor, which led me to believe it was from pets (pet friendly hotel). The bathroom had moldy spots in the shower and part of the wall had either rotted or removed and not been fixed. Lastly, the smell in the room was the most offensive. It did not smell clean, but rather musty and like animals.

If you're used to 4 star, don't compromise. It's easy to get food, the store's are right across the parking lot. I walked to Starbucks.

- Lisa (6/5): Unusable kitchenette - The property offers a kitchenette but no adequate utensils, dishes or cookware. When i asked the front desk, I was told that items get stolen so they were not available. I had to purchase items to be able to utilize the kitchenette that I paid for. Very upsetting.
- Levince (2/5): - This was my worst stay at a Marriott property. I arrived at 1:30am and it was 28 degrees outside. I stood in the cold vestibule for 15 minutes waiting for someone to open the door. I called the hotel and there wasn’t a response. The bell/intercom wasn’t working. I got checked in smoothly. I went to my room and it smelled awful. I felt cold in the room and saw that the thermostat read 59 degrees. I called the front desk and there wasn’t a response. After that I went down and I found the front desk person who said she come up with me. I was lugging a duffle bag and other bags. She proceeds to take a stab at being a HVAC tech for 10 minutes. After her assessment and troubleshooting, she says “let me switch you to another room”. So I follow her with my bags to the front desk. I get checked into my new room my complimentary “upgrade” and it swells far worse. I start sneezing due to a smell of heavy mold and mustiness. It’s now after 2am, so I just accept it. I look at the beds and one bedroom doesn’t have a mattress protector. The other bedroom has hair and what I assume to be skin flakes in the made bed. The microwave was also dirty. At this point I decide to pull an all nighter and I napped on the chair/ottoman on a bed of towels. The front desk agent from that night was the manager when I asked to see a manager. Her response was to give me 5009 Marriott points. I’m familiar with Marriott’s brand and this hotel should be rebranded to a motel 6.
- Jessica (8/5): Less than spic and span - Hotel room was comfortable and had a few nice extras like a fridge and freezer. The room lacked in cleanliness. Although most of what you saw at quick glance appeared clean, moving the shower curtain revealed multiple hairs in the tub, The cabinets in the room were quite dusty just above eye level. The space between the bed and nightstand was very dusty and contained pills and an old nail file. The breakfast was sparse and they were out of most items.

- robertagR2862HO (6/5): Uncomfortable sleeping experience. - TownPlace was very clean, smelled wonderful, and was beautiful; however, the mattress on the foldout couch was extremely thin, lumpy and uncomfortable. My grandson tried putting the couch cushions on it, but ended up in a crevice. The pillows were no better. Noise from the hallway and room next door kept us awake. If you go, bring your own pillows, don't get a room where you must use the fold out and bring some ear plugs. I hated to leave this review because the front desk staff were so kind and helpful. The closeness to the University was also a huge plus - not walkable but still close for driving.

- 891violetm (2/5): Theft - If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would. I was staying there for almost 2 months for work. The last day I traveled I was in a hurry to get to ATL airport and forgot my trave jewelry box in the room. I noticed immediately after I left and called the front desk. The girl stated she would retrieve items and hold them at front desk. I had a full day of traveling and realized when I landed, I still hadn't heard from the hotel. I reached out to hotel, and they stated nothing was found and I would have to file report through Auburn PD. This occurred October 4, 2024, and till this week I get a response stating their investigation consisted of checking who accessed room, and they spoke to employee involved. The employee stated she didn't take anything, and investigation was closed. The manager and point of contact for Marriot has been no help and simply stated there is nothing they can do. Jewelry was over 10K. Worst customer service, not professional! The point of contact for Marriott was so rude and unprofessional stating how did they know I had the jewelry. I told him to pull cameras for the last 2 months of me wearing them. I have traveled for 10 years and stayed at Hilton properties with no issues. Marriott handled this incorrectly and with zero remorse.

- beardogmom (6/5): Dog friendly and convenient location - housekeeping needs to step up - We were happy to find a dog friendly Bonvoy property to bring our older large dog along. We were greated and thanked for being elite; however, I still had to ask for an upgrade and then also waters. We were offered points or snack. I also requested 4 pm late check out and she assured me my key cards were good till 4pm. I again checked w/ her in the morning and she oh yes, they are good till 4pm. Well 11:10 I walk dog and cannot get back in room. Housekeeping issues included: trash and hair in drawers - hair in bathtub; they left pillowcases for pullout but no extra pillows. The furniture in the living room was VERY worn and for a 2 bedroom the couch was a love seat size and very rigid and uncomfortable. The breakfast was adequate and well maintained. There is enough green space to walk dog - up over hill a big field too.

Our room had a tired sofa and the wings and bangs that happen with careless folks living in your hotel. The space had everything short of an oven. Our space was as large as a typical apartment in a European city.
