Guest Reviews
- Anteo (10/5): -
- Naomi (10/5): Cozy and accommodating - John and Jeanette were the absolute sweetest, making our stay warm and delicious (Jeanette’s French toast casserole is phenomenal!). John was so informative, helping us get there late at night, recommending a great dinner place, and letting us checkout late so we could come back and shower after the slopes. Truly the definition of hospitality That we couldn’t stay longer!
- Fagan (9/5): Excellent overall - Great hosts Heating
- Doerte (10/5): We spent a wonderful evening and night in Bethel. - Cozy home with a lot of character. Very friendly and welcoming owner. n/a
- Xing (10/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): A quintessential B&B experience in the heart of Maine. - In every corner of the property, there is a wonderful antique to appreciate or on which to sit (comfy antique chairs). Almost all the pieces are from the period of the house's construction--or earlier. Very quaint and charming. Breakfasts are first rate in terms of variety and quality. Jeannette's quiche was truly sublime, but all of the food was delicious and not the typical fare. Honestly, there were no down-sides to this stay. The place is comfortable and we had some wonderful conversations with John and Jeannette.
- EMMANUEL (9/5): - Atmosphère

Superbe petit déjeuner fait maison
- Amber (9/5): A lovely stop on my trip, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting or passing through. - Clean and cozy. The food was great, and Jeannette and John were very friendly and accommodating. Some noise from other guests going up and down the stairs, but that is to be expected in a historic property.

- Yulia (10/5): - I have never been to a hotel where all the details were so thoughtfully thought through: USB outlets, extra towels, a wine opener in the room, and a 24-hour tea and coffee station with fruits and cookies! The host was exceptionally hospitable, and I truly enjoyed my stay. nothing

- Richard (10/5): Holidae House offers travelers everything for a comfortable, memorable stay in Bethel, ME. - Jeanette prepares a variety of hot, tasty breakfasts served by John in an interesting old Victorian dining room, complete with coffee or tea, juice, and pleasant conversation.
- Liliia (10/5): Special.. just very special attention, care and place) - Beautiful interesting decor, hosts attention and care to every detail, even breakfast dish and service. It’s great.
You certainly will be impressed Fluffy clean blanket in the blanket case on the bed would help) or better-two.
I’d appreciate some more silence and privacy , thank you 😆
- Toby (10/5): - Lovely, charming old Victorian in the center of Bethel. The owners are always available, offering support and suggestions. Breakfasts are delicious, prepared from scratch by Jeanette and served in the quaint dining room. The owners are extremely accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

- Paul (10/5): Great overnight stay in Bethel. - The minute we arrived we were checked in without any problems and given the important information about our stay. The property was very impressive and our room fantastic. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the breakfast delicious. Our host gave us retaurant recommendations that turned out to be very good. Nothing - everything was excellent.
- Beverly (10/5): - We had a wonderful time at Holidae House for our 50th wedding anniversary. The host and hostess made us feel like celebrities! The homemade blueberry pancakes and crispy bacon was divine. We definitely recommend the Holidae House to any travelers!
Deseando volver! Gracias por todo.
- Sam (9/5): Great little stay with a fantastic host full of stories! - Great place to stay. The host was 10/10, and the whole experience was like being in a Hallmark movie! The only thing we were underwhelmed about was the breakfast. Reading everyone else reviews about the breakfast being fantastic, I was expecting great things. We were very surprised when we were served a Dutch baby pancake with 2 pieces of bacon, and left still feeling very hungry. We were expecting to be asked what we would like, or at least given bigger portions.
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Philip (10/5): -
- mark (10/5): Wonderful -I've run out of superlatives to describe our stays with John and Jeanette. - Another perfect stay with John and Jeanette at the gorgeous Holidae House. Return booking after our stay last year, we're already planning a third stay in 2026. Great location for our hiking trip with abundance of hikes for all levels locally in stunning countryside. John and Jeanette made our stay super comfortable and our room was perfectly furnished.
As both my wife and I are on the carnivore diet John and Jeanette discussed our needs and accommodated our special dietary requirements, however such is the quality of Jeannette's cooking we succumbed to temptation and enjoyed her dutch-baby, and other delightful breakfast options. Look forward to our next visit to the Holidae House in the beautiful town of Bethel. Nothing- Perfect stay.
- Deanna (10/5): Lovely and comfortable Bed & Breakfast located in the rolling hills of Vermont. - It was a nice bed and breakfast in a quaint little town. Host/hostess were friendly and informative. Breakfast was delicious. The location was on our route for leaf peeping in the area. Had dinner at a local pub (Suds) where the food, staff and entertainment were all good. N/A
- Chaney (10/5): Fabulous, we will return yearly. - Exceptional! zero
- sheri (9/5): Great overnight stay, close to Gould Academy and local businesses. - Great central location. Nice added touches - glasses, chocolates, home-baked snacks, sound machine, phone charger. Very conscientious of dietary restrictions/preferences, and great knowledge of the area. It's an old house, so not sure if anything could have been done, but I could hear a guest in another room snoring throughout the night, which disturbed my sleep a little (even over the sound machine's white noise).
- Robert (8/5): -
- christopher (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Nice B&B with Great Innkeeper - Very nice large room with all amenities. Interesting and very helpful innkeeper. Delicious breakfast. Very narrow stairway to room. But, innkeeper carried bags up and down.
- Lauren (10/5): Perfect stay in Bethel. Want to come again. - We loved our stay! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. We brought our 6 month old and they were very warm and friendly with our baby. I really hope to stay here again.
- Judi (10/5): Homey Stay - John and Jeanette are lovely hosts! They made us feel like family as soon as we arrived. John clearly explained everything and more than we needed to know for a comfortable stay. The Inn is quaint, exceptionally clean, and Jeanette's breakfast is delicious. There are restaurants within walking distance.
- Kirstin (10/5): -
- Dr. Yaroslavsky (10/5): - Very friendly couple. An interesting house, beautifully decorated with excellent taste. Delicious breakfast and a warm welcome. I'll look for it next time
- Joseph (10/5): - The hosts were great! Very friendly and accommodating! Everything was great!
- Margaret (8/5): Very nice way to spend a weekend - Breakfast was excellent. Our room, although located at the front of the building on Main St, was quiet and comfortable. Our host went out of his way to explain the setup and make us comfortable. All good! The mattress was slightly too firm for me.
- Joanne (10/5): - Quaint town with close proximity to dinner options. Bathroom and room sizes were comfortable.
Plenty of onsite parking.
- April (8/5): -
- DENISE (9/5): Great B and B - Friendly host. Had a tour of the facilities to welcome us. Breakfast was home cooked with quality ingredients. Comfortable bed Nothing
- Everts (10/5): Fall Foliage Adventure - The host, John, greeted us at the door, using my first name. My party and I immediately felt very welcomed and at home. Everything was explained with clarity and great detail. Breakfast was on time, satisfying, and filling. Jeanette was indeed a great chef and very personable. There are not enough stars for the experience that we had. Definitely on the list of places to visit again!!** Can't think of a single thing.
- Christina (10/5): - The B&B is run by a very friendly couple, immediately felt at home and welcomed. Had the best homemade breakfast! The building is stunning and very comfortable.
- RANDY (10/5): Beautiful home and accommodations and excellent breakfast - Breakfast was excellent, and the location was perfect. Nothing
- Shieber (10/5): Wonderful hosts and accommodations; would love to stay again. - Excellent food and service; if you need anything, just text owners Would have liked a small bathroom mirror and a full-length mirror somewhere in the room
- John (10/5): Nice walkable B&B - Nice B&B. We were very comfortable in our room and loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, a grocery store and more.
Nichts
- Greatbatch (10/5): - Host was very attentive. Great location. Walked to Gem Museum and restaurant.
- Gayle (10/5): - The owner was very welcoming and gave us wonderful information on where to eat and what to visit, along with great directions. The breakfast was wonderful! That we didn't stay longer.
- John (10/5): A warm welcome awaits - The personal touch of the hosts. Very clean and very homely. This was our second stay and would book again without hesitation Nothing
- Vivien (8/5): - Excellent host , very warm welcome , good location , comfortable and well equipped room . Would have liked a choice of breakfast - rather than just being presented with the dish of the day .
Having no special dietary requirements doesn’t mean no dietary preferences .
- World Traveler (10/5): Wonderful; we will return. - The rooms and house is in top notch condition and was very clean. There are a lot of nice antiques and special touches, the home is very welcoming, and it was nice and quiet for sleeping. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Everything was great. As a stomach sleeper, I would just prefer a choice of a softer, rather than overstuffed bed pillow, otherwise it was all great.
- Elise (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Fabulous stay - Beautiful period property in the middle of town with wonderful hosts. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and the room was very comfortable which was topped off with a fab breakfast in the morning. Thank you. Nil
- Willis (10/5): Great hospitality, splendid breakfast - Central location but still quiet
- Wayne (10/5): - Very accommodating, friendly hosts, attention to detail. Great location. Nicely restored historic house in the heart of Bethel. Breakfasts were terrific, but only what was specifically prepared / cooked by the jost for that day. It would be nice to have a lighter option.
- Denis (10/5): -
- Susanne (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Anna-Marie (9/5): Relaxing and comfortable stay in a gem of a B&B in a charming town, amid a splendid landscape. - The property is a lovely old home, beautifully maintained and furnished, with comfortable beds. Location in downtown Bethel makes an easy stroll to the Mineral Museum, town museum, and several good dining options. Hosts are friendly and welcoming, and afternoon treats and breakfast are ample and delicious. The surrounding area is beautiful, with several fun antique shops nearby, a gorgeous pollinator garden, and ample opportunities for biking, swimming, and other outdoor recreation. There's plenty of parking in back of the building. We had no complaints with the B &B. The hosts were very gracious in accommodating any dietary needs/preferences, and very helpful with restaurant and other local recommendations. There were fans and window units available in each room, allowing for individual temperature control; and the wifi and cable worked great.
- Cheryl (10/5): A great find! - Great location! Great Restraunts and the best find was the Maine Museum of Minerals and Gems right next door! It was the best curated museum of its kind anywhere and had an amazing representation of rocks from Mars and the moon. John was very helpful and it was obvious he thought through everything a guest might need.
- Lital (10/5): - The breakfast was excellent, easily the best we've had in our travels.
The hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
- Mike (10/5): We loved our stay at Holidae House. We plan to return and stay again! - The breakfast was outstanding. Our room (and the entire house) was charming. Our hosts were kind and thorough... no detail was left unattended. The room sink for our specific room was located in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. I understand that this was due to limited space in the bathroom (which was modern and well-appointed). I also realize that this was very clear on the room photos... I just never noticed. This was my fault, not the fault of the hosts.
- Christopher (10/5): - Took me back to visiting my grandparents home. It's just a minute or two walking distance to restaurants, and small stores. The room was comfortable, and clean. Breakfast and coffee was delicious. This is now our place to stay in Bethel.
Ontbijt is beperkt.
- Sandy (10/5): Great stay in Bethel - John and Jeanette were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The breakfast amazing. Quaint, with a feeling of "home", is what made our stay comfortable. Also, Maine Mineral and Gem Museum is located a few doors down from the Inn. Grocery store across the street is well supplied.
- Sophie (10/5): A last-minute stop on our Maine trip turned into a warm, welcoming stay in beautiful Bethel—thanks to John, Jeannette, a - We booked this place at short notice while on a trip through Maine. We had never visited Bethel before but John and Jeannette made us feel so welcome! It was so nice to spend the time talking with John and the other guests, hearing about everyone’s backgrounds and learning about things to do in the area! The property is so nicely maintained and right in the center of town, walking distance to many restaurants. I loved that the original elements of the house were maintained but had been updated to modern standards. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back for a longer visit! Nothing!
- Kimberleigh (10/5): - The owners were so attentive to detail, very welcoming and super friendly, and they made delicious breakfasts. It was a memorable stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
- John (10/5): - The owners do an excellent job welcoming you. The breakfast was tasty! Coffee was excellent! Very welcoming B&B. Lots of charm.
- Mattie (10/5): - Couple that has the business was wonderful
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (10/5): Despite a sudden back injury, we appreciated this stay and our room. We ha b d everything we needed and really appreci - Lovely homey feeling. Incredible hosts, welcomed us and catered to dietary needs. Very kind. They have thought about absolutely everything with respect to comfort! Property was filled with interest and charm as well as homemade treats!! Wonderfully located in close proximity to amenities and restaurants. Not a thing. Just as advertised. Host was delightful.
- Greenberg (10/5): Exceptional - Charming, well equipped. Friendly host. Excellent breakfast. Not handicap accessible.
- Kathleen (10/5): Beautiful place to stay. Centrally located. - Breakfast was served in the dining room with original metal ceiling and Victorian decor. Our breakfast was prepared especially for us and served by our hosts.
Our room was very comfortable. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance and a grocery store.
John and Jeanette are super hosts. They make sure you have what you need and your stay is above expectations.
- Israel (10/5): - Hosts were amazing and friendly! The breakfast is incredible!
- Susan (10/5): A happy ending to a wonderful Maine trip! - Lovely period home filled with treasures. Jeanette cooks an amazing breakfast. Great restaurants within walking distance. John and Jeanette are excellent hosts!
- Joseph (9/5): Superb - Very nice room, clean and very comfortable.
Excellent breakfast, coffee, tea and tasty treats in the afternoon. Host was very knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed our stay
- Brothers (10/5): Exceptional - Nicely situated in town and cute Victorian house
- Kai (10/5): - Very nice place
- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Magda (10/5): The most welcoming B&B, will come back! - An amazing B&B. You can truly feel that the owners appreciate getting to know people and the connection aspect of their business, you just feel as welcome as visiting a good friend. The place is spotlessly clean, well organized, safe. Breakfast was delicious. Will come back. The mountains were too beautiful, and the air was too pure (it’s a joke, of course:)
honestly- absolutely nothing to complain about or change!
- Lorangela (9/5): A welcoming stay, in a well run BnB - You'll get a warm welcome from John and Jeanette.
Room is small but comfortable, in an old Victorian home which is lovingly cared for. Any questions you have regarding your stay or surrounds will be answered. A home cooked breakfast awaits you in the morning. Nothing seems too much to ask for. This is a well run BnB. Nothing worth mentioning.
