Guest Reviews
- Adrienne (7/5): Good location and beautiful walking opportunities nearby, but still close to downtown. - Beautiful location surrounded by woods. My room smelled of mildew. Bathroom needs updating.
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Shawn (8/5): Great spot would stay again - Awesome girl at front desk , gave us all the town info!! Bed was not comfy
- Simard (10/5): -
- MitchellB304 (10/5): Pleasant stay - Well maintained lodging with an old time vibe. This motel is an icon in Hot Springs. Reasonably priced, clean and neat. Shows some wear and tear, as it should. Pleasant stay within easy walking distance of shops and eateries. Great view of the Hot Springs Tower.
- Elizabeth rose (10/5): The most peaceful place we have stayed on our cross country trip - There were power cords both sides of the bed, great customer relations, beautiful view of the national park from our window, private entry, close to bath houses
- Bethany (10/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Zsolt (9/5): - It was just next to both the hiking ways and also very close to the center. Room was clean, the area was nice.
- Melissa (10/5): Wonderful retro hotel, located near spring for fresh water. Nature right outside your door. - The location was wonderful. We were able to hike and walk down to the bathhouses without having to drive anywhere. Deadbolt didn't work on door.
- Roger (10/5): Stay Here when you visit Hot springs NP - As many reviews mentioned, we were lucky to find this one. Tucked away from the main area but steps from The National Park Mountain Road Trail and the famous Hotel Arlington, the only brewery on National Parks in U.S., Visitors Center etc. Well maintained older hotel. We received great tips when we checked in: tours by the NP rangers, SPA (just dip into pools w/o SPA treatment), drive through the Mountain Road Trail, etc. We stayed 2 nights and saw a lot. Surprisingly quiet except early morning garbage pickup.
- Alison (10/5): - Nice, quiet venue and close to downtown but easy to park
- Brad (8/5): - Location was perfect for visiting the Hot Sprngs National Park .
- Wallysson (10/5): - Localização
- David (9/5): - The Happy Hollow exemplifies what the traditional Hot Springs experience should be. Perfectly situated to easily explore the mountain trails and the Bathhouse Row via the Grand Prominade. There is absolutely NOTHING to dislike about this place. Certainly the facility is old-style, so simple and traditional (no elevator and small bathroom)....but it fits so perfectly with the area. It's not set up to be a resort ---- just the right place to access old-town Hot Springs and the National Park.
- Holly (9/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): A nice no frills perfectly located supper friendly stay. - This property is perfectly located. The young lady there was supper friendly. Very understanding when I messed up my reservation. I loved that the ice wasn't out of a machine but rather bags of ice in a chest freezer. If you're looking for frills this is not the place. It is an older property. The shower was tiny and one of the beds was squeaky. There wasn't a remote for the mini split but I didn't ask either.
- Aleece (8/5): Comfortable stay in a convenient location. - Check in was super easy and staff were very friendly. The motel was very convenient to trails as well as bathhouse row. With the quiet room and the comfortable bed, we both slept great! We enjoyed sitting on the patio as well. The motel is pet friendly, so there was some pet hair on the sofa. The ventilation in the bathroom could be better; the paint in some corners in the bathroom looked mildewy.
- Jacy (8/5): - The location is fantastic! The balcony space is great and the rooms are very spacious!
- Mackenzie (10/5): -
- Aidan (8/5): Cheap an comfortable with a great location. - Great location and very hospitable. The tv did not have an hdmi port. Kinda of thin walls
- Scott (9/5): Recommend Yes! - Everything was great about my stay at Happy Hollow. Would recommend.
- Suzann (10/5): - Happy Hollow was close to town, hiking trails, and cold water springs. Everyone we met staying there was awesome and friendly.
- Mari (10/5): - The gal that checked me in was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction of where I was interested in going. She was also very helpful to other people.
- Jessica (10/5): This is such a gem, and we will absolutely be back! - It was the perfect location! Everything was extremely walkable from it, it allowed us to not have to worry about dealing with crowded street parking, one of the springs was located next door, and trails were accessible directly across the street. The bathrooms were a little small, but that’s expected from a building this age. No major complaints here!
- Stacy (8/5): -
- Amber (8/5): -
- Barry (7/5): -
- ALAN_OSASCO (7/5): - antigo
- Brockman (8/5): - The light blue patio umbrellas. Big rocks close enough where, you, could get easily, pop a tire.
- hermann (6/5): -
- Dennis (9/5): It was great. - We got stuck in the snow and the owners could not have been kinder and more helpful. The attitude of the owners
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Perfect stay for a family with a dog, perfect location, can’t wait to go back. - Location was great and the rooms were huge! We had to book 2 rooms because of our family size and the layout was perfect, we had our own little stairway that only had our rooms so felt very private and not disconnected between us. It was great!
- Jordon (10/5): -
- Eve (8/5): Great value, will stay here again. Highly recommended. - Great location, walkable distance to downtown, and next to the cool spring fountain and national park. Able to park on site without trouble.
The room is spacious with comfortable bed and pillow. AC works great in the hot summer. Room comes with some kitchen supplies. The bathroom is a little small and has mold in the shower area. A few towels have stains on them.
- Crystal (10/5): When we visit Hot Springs we will definitely use this motel again. - Location, cleanliness, price, & atmosphere We couldn’t get the temperature in the room the way we like.
- Danny (10/5): This place is a awesome little get away spot. - We love the location and retro feel of the Happy Hollow. All attractions and restaurants are in walking distance. Very convenient. Wonderful place to stay Nothing
- MARY LYNN (7/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at this retro motel. - The location was very close th downtown. The bed was extremely comfortable. You could ask for the room to be cleaned by hanging a simple request hanger, or just towels by using the backside of the hanger. The temperature was easily adjusted. The shower was incredibly small. My husband had more trouble than I, due to the width of his shoulders. The plug outlets were old, and my plugs to appliances kept coming out.
- Suzanne (8/5): We would go back. We had a great time. - Loved the location. Up the mountain a bit but still an easy walk to town. The staff were super nice. Loved the bottles we got to go fill in the cold springs. The spring water was truly amazing. Hiking right outside our door. The rooms have a retro feel but too dated and worn. Bathroom needs an overhaul but who cares really.
- Just (10/5): - We liked being able to walk out the door and go hiking up the hill to the overlook. We liked that it was a very quiet place to stay. We enjoy walking everywhere so it was extremely convenient for us and close to the bathhouse row, shops and restaurants.
- Sandra (8/5): -
- William (10/5): -
- April (8/5): Very nice will be back - Location and very comfortable bed and price free parking no hidden fees Not much lighting walking back from central ave.
- Docsports (8/5): A Vintage-Style Stay in the Middle of Hot Springs - Happy Hollow is one of those places that really leans into the history of Hot Springs, and we enjoyed that. Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, with fun old photos on the walls — everything from Prohibition signs to classic Hot Springs scenes. It felt like staying in a little piece of the town’s past.
The location is excellent, tucked into a quiet spot but still an easy walk to restaurants and the historic district. Parking was simple and the whole stay was relaxed and easy.
If you appreciate a little nostalgia and don’t need modern hotel bells and whistles, Happy Hollow is a great fit.
- Cheryl (7/5): - Within walking distance to downtown Central Ave,, warm room, comfy bed. Liked that room had fridge and microwave. Room could use a little updating. We were in room 227. We will definitely stay again
- Greifzu (6/5): - I liked the location n price.
- Luisa (10/5): Lovely stay !! Peaceful and relax - Location was perfect!!
- susan (10/5): - Always stay there when we go to Hot Springs. Love the STAFF and the peaceful serene atmosphere. NOTHING
- Michele (10/5): I plan on returning yearly, with Molly! - Convenient location, excellent price, dog lovers, all basic amenities included.
- Sherry (10/5): We will always stay here! Love this place so much - The view, the staff, dog friendly, convenient to every thing
- Brian (10/5): Happy Hollow is quaint and quiet with great service and clean rooms. - Happy Hollow is close to Bathhouse Row and the Promenade. We walk nearly everywhere we go. We need a queen bed and got 2 doubles.
- Tara (10/5): Great location with an easy walk to downtown - The location was great - an easy walk to downtown and access to the hiking trails. I also liked the outdoor space with chairs and a table outside my door and a grassy area to sit in the evening. I have no complaints. It is simple accommodations and that's all I was looking for. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly.
- LaTonya (9/5): Excellent -
- Faith (3/5): -
- Donna (10/5): -
- Brianna (10/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): - Great area, quiet, easy to walk to sight see around the area
- Ronnie (10/5): - We were right across the street from the National Park.
An older but remodeled room. Small but met our needs. Close to everything downtown.
- Lynda (10/5): Had a very enjoyable stay and will certainly return to The Happy Hollow. - The motel is a lovely "step back in time". Has retained the charm of the original, but has been updated with modern amenities. The facility is clean, very comfortable, and is only a short walk to restaurants and shops on Central Avenue. Parking is on site, a big plus!
- crystal (5/5): -
- Carolyn (6/5): - Since the bathroom was small it could have used more shelving. But I loved the location, the quietness and quaintness of our stay
- kwadwo (10/5): - clean, well maintained hotel within walking distance of the baths and central avenue bars and shops
- Shye (7/5): - Close to everything
- Leah (10/5): - Amazing location and staff with easy checkin and spacious rooms. This is THE place to stay in Hot Springs!
- Donna (8/5): Great location, fun town and national park. - Location, helpful & knowledge staff, reasonable price and clean. Smokers outside or around building, small bathroom and shower.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great retro hotel walking distance from everything. Love this place.
- Vicky (10/5): - The staff was excellent.
I shared a bedroom with my sister. Next time, i will make sure we get 2 beds.
Everything else was great
- Katie (10/5): Pet Friendly, Historic, Great Location! - We had an amazing stay here! We LOVED that we can bring our dog, and the hiking trails are right across the street! They also gift you a water bottle to fill with spring water from the springs near the property. Great service, awesome location, and priced affordably. We will be back!
- Kathy (2/5): - Can’t believe this has an excellent rating as it is anything but. Bathroom was 5’ x 5’. Shower 3’ x 3’ cubby. No comfort here whatsoever. Left a day early and stayed somewhere else. Creepy and nasty.
- hannah (10/5): Cute & Chill - Such a cute and chill stay, it’s perfectly nested between beautiful downtown and the beautiful outdoors. Awesome stay!
- hermann (8/5): -
- Jan (10/5): Great and safe - Safe, quiet, great location, can walk to bathhouses tourist area. I don't have any issues but other need to know older facility but remodeled.
- Mary (9/5): Great as usual. Already looking forward to our next visit! - Room was awesome. The location is excellent which is why it's our favorite hotel when we visit. An armchair in the rooms would be good for those of us with bad backs! Also, in the room we had this time, the ac was struggling a bit due to the hot temps outside.
- Joseph (8/5): - Location is excellent, only two block walk to bathhouse row and restaurants. The happy hollow cool mineral water spring is very close and hotel gives you a bottle to experience the water. Older motor inn that has been refurbished and National Park trails go in front and behind the motel. Had a great time.
- Michie (8/5): - The scenrey was awesome, there is a lot of things to do and see.It is pet friendly, there are great restaurants to eat at with your pets. I was not o comfortable with the beds mattress.
- Famontherun (8/5): Great Location for 2 Night Stay - We loved the location of this motel. It is tucked back in a quiet corner, right near a usable spring but close enough to town to walk. It is right near an access road to Hot Springs National Park. It is also right near an old brick walkway that leads to Bathhouse row. The motel is older with a retro vibe. The owner is on site, but was not especially friendly or present during our 2 night stay. The room is very basic. It was "clean" but not deep clean. The tile shower was very very tight....if you are a larger person; good luck! It was nice that they left you a plastic bottle to bring home some mineral water. It was pretty quiet overall. We often saw folks sitting out in front of their unit; there is a little table and 2 chair in front of your room. It could have used some tissues. Overall, pretty clean, but in need of a deeper clean and some basic touch ups (all the paint was peeling off the bathroom door) to elevate the place a bit. It felt safe and quiet (although lots of cars go by to access the nearby spring tap) and was comfy overall. The price point was good for the area. As long as you don't want anything too frilly, this place should do just fine.
- 511dedes (8/5): Older but clean - This is an older motel. While it appears it is walkable to the sites and downtown, we felt not so much. We did drive to the town center and parking was all charged. We ended up finding a great Italian restaurant off the beaten path.
- Hayley (10/5): - A great location a few minute walk from Bath House row in Hot Springs. The motel was clean and quiet. The room was small, but definitely good condition and clean. Good quality for the affordable price. Location was close to all the major spots in the park as well as a the Happy Hollows Spring one of the only cold springs in the park. Parking was easy. Staff friendly. Lawn games available too!
- Frances (8/5): - The location was great, but if they had done any remodeling, it was not to be seen.
- Hollie (10/5): We’ll definitely be back! - Convince, friendliness, and price Under the beds and old food cups. Never had this problem before though.
- Briannah (10/5): -
- Temekia (10/5): Amazing - Location great
- Jessica (10/5): - Love it
- Brent (10/5): - Easy parking and walkable distance to Central avenue and the bath house row.
- John F (10/5): - When on a fun trip place was great
- TYLER (10/5): - Cute place
- Michael (10/5): - Very affordable and the place was nice and peaceful. Right at the start of the walking trail for the tower and also the walk that overlooks the strip. Great location
- Jeremy (5/5): Passable - Good location and very comfortable bed The bathroom was very small. The ac was not cold enough had to buy a fan
- Donna (9/5): Superb -
- Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dávid (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Small, but clean rooms.
- Smarr (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds, clean room, safe. Next to the trails for hiking. Not far from downtown. Staff were friendly. Wonderful scenic drive to the mountain tower is right across the road. Updates have been made but still need to make a few. Toilet would hang up when it flushes, had ro keep jiggling it to get it to stop running. There was a small hole in the bathroom stuffed with paper. This is an older motel so we didn't expect it to be perfect either.
- Teresa (10/5): Perfect retro motel - Location was ideal for exploring Hot Springs. Could park your car and walk.
- Cathy (8/5): Very good -
- Larry (8/5): Very good - Older hotel that was a little quirky really enjoyed the property. 3 blocks from downtown a very easy walk, parking was great.
We will stay again.
- Mandy (8/5): Cozy little place - It’s a cute little hotel that could use some updating but we were very happy with the customer service and it’s tucked away from the craziness of bathhouse row. But still so close to walk. It gives such cozy feel. Would definitely stay again.
- janejF2992AL (8/5): Quirky, clean, no frills motel in superior location. - We loved the quiet, quirky, retro atmosphere of this hotel. It was pretty well maintained and clean. The location and parking were superb. Our room was very clean. We loved the proximity to the cold water spring and the container the motel provided for us to collect the water. Our only complaint was that the shower in our bathroom (#10) was extremely small. It was a good value and we liked the courtyard.
