Guest Reviews
- P1611VSpabloc (2/5): If you want to ruin your vacation book this hotel - We arrived around 11pm there was nobody to receive us, waited probably around 30 minutes this lady come to assist us, our room wasn’t ready more probably 20 minutes for our room to be ready. That was our first red flag, after that everything went great. This lady was actually super nice and all the working crew was very friendly we had a great experience.
On our last day the hotel was completely empty it was only me and my mom. The new management arrived at 6am EXTREMELY LOUD people were walking up and down the stairs on non stop smoking sage all over the hotel we couldn’t breathe, it was awful. I asked them if they could respect us and let us sleep but it was like talking to the wall. The new people that are running the hotel are extremely rude, they didn’t respect me and my mom. They were walking like elephants up and down. Didn’t let us rest at all. It’s being an awful experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY. If you want to ruin your trip book this hotel.
I told the receptionist that 6am is not ok to wake people up on vacation. Not even my earplugs helped me to fall back asleep because they want to stop and they won’t respect you as a guest.

- Taylor (6/5): A pleasant stay in Cusco near the city center - The staff was very nice and helpful, made it worthwhile. The location is also great, close to the main square and historic areas, but not right in it where you feel overwhelmed. The room was a little small, which was fine for just me (one person) but it would have been very tight for multiple people. I also found that there were some strange dark splotches on the shower curtain which made the room seem less clean - that being said, the sheets and towels were clean and the rest of the room was as well.
- Zabrina (9/5): Would return but maybe ask for quieter room - We loved the staff, they were very helpful to assist with laundry service and taxi to our bus. Gave great recommendations for exploring and meals and generally really lovely people. We enjoyed practicing our Spanish with them. The road is very noisy, there is a grate outside and every time a car passes it is loud. The floors are wooden and creaky and when guests in the neighboring room walked it sounded like they were in our room. Even with 26dB ear plugs it was a challenge to get a good rest between cars honking and the activity on the street. If you're a heavy sleeper you will like this place :)
- Philip Hyun (10/5): - Came in late the owner stayed up for me. Loved the ambiance of the place. Close to plaza. Would stay again
- Mason (10/5): - walkable

- Chuveiro top demais…
Cama poderia ser maior para casal.
- Hamid (10/5): - Great stagg
- Hamid (10/5): - Wonderful staff all around
- Jayant (6/5): - it is very basic hotel with minimum space and for competitive price.
Room has just enough space for the bed/s nothing else is there, you have barely any space for walking.
Room has a portable heater.
Bathroom does have hot water but no other things are provided like shampoo, body wash etc. bathrooms drainage is not good, the water goes out very slow. And it has a smell.
The hotel over all is clean. Breakfast is same exact thing everyday, we stayed for 5 days. One day we need to leave little early so we asked for some breakfast and The lady(Francisco) agreed to pack boxed breakfast for us. we told/texted clearly to her no meat, no ham, and she still gave us sandwiches with ham and cheese that we couldn’t use.
Next door is some sort of club and 2/3 nights very loud music was being played late night until 11:30pm.
Outside hotel is single lane one way narrow road which could be inconvenient to go in and out.
If you are looking for a budget hotel and above things don’t bother you then go for it.
- NIKHIL (6/5): - Limited breakfast and rigid times for coffee
- Andres (10/5): - My only complaint is that I wished for the breakfast to be better like more options but I understant that will drive the price up. Other wise the place is great. A big plus they have is electric heaters in each room. We came from NY and I belived I was prepare for the cold night in the the winter months, but once you are in Cusco belive me you will want to have the heater next to you.
- Rosena (8/5): - This was a great hotel, very close to all the tourist attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Eau chaude egalement
- Eros (9/5): I enjoyed my stay so when I came back to Cusco I rebooked same hotel. - Staff very helpful with extra needs such as tours and taxis and local knowledge. The room did not have a desk for working on laptop. Other rooms in the hotel did.
- Vladimir (6/5): Definitely not the best choice for this price - Decent rooms and nice view from rooftop Poor breakfast
- Elias (8/5): - Close to everything
- Anthony (10/5): - Great location for the price. Close to the main plaza and great cheap eats nearby. Breakfast only had bread, jam, avocados, bananas and cereal/juice which might be annoying for some but it was plenty for us.
- Rui (10/5): - Excelent location and Francisca was a 5* host.
- 176hj (10/5): Great hotel - This hotel is in the historical center of Cusco, it is very convenient to walk to the famous attractions, the staff of the hotel is very warm and friendly, willing to provide thoughtful service and assistance to the residents, we were in a hurry to catch the early bus to Machu Picchu, Francisca specially prepared breakfast for us to eat on the way, here, a special thank you to Francisca, a trustworthy lady.
- Glenn (10/5): - The owner, and front desk person, spoke English, and Spanish. She
- MirandaL184 (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in Cusco - Incredible 5 nights for me. The room is clean, great location, hot shower and hearty breakfast every morning.
My super host Francisca really looked out for solo traveler like me and gave me many good suggestions that led to better logistics arrangement.
Recommend to use their paid laundry service, it was done professionally and could give you such peace of mind after a long trip.
- 648leizlr (10/5): Great basic hotel for tourists - Very nice English-speaking staff, hot water, clean room. Good basic accommodation if you’ll be spending a lot of time taking day tours around Cusco. There is luggage storage and laundry service here. Staff let me leave my luggage at the hotel while I was gone for a few days in another part of the country because I planned to come back and stay at the hotel again later that week. The only complaint I may have is that it was easy to hear people that are speaking in the common areas from my hotel room. But for the most part it was very quiet in the hotel.
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Not too far and not too close from Plaza de Armas. Short walk to the center of Cusco and quiet enough to rest at night from a long day. Clean and water always hot, no problem with that. Bed were comfortable and heater works well on cold nights. Would stay again.
- Enrique (10/5): - Location is super convenient, staff is extremly friendly and helpful. Its a great place when it comes to price-quality ratio
- Y7568VMgabriellec (10/5): Casa del excellent - Edger set us up with all we needed, (from admentities to drivers) he was helpful and friendly. The hotel had a beautiful view of cusco (both from the window and the little outdoor terrace). It was clean and comfortable, the beds were very soft. It was also absolutely in the heart of centro historico.
- Linda (10/5): - I liked the person in charge, he was really nice and helpful
- andylO8220EY (10/5): Great comforting experience! - Edgar was extremely welcoming and attentative. hooked us up with a local travel agency for a last minute macchu pichu day trip. The place is very convenient to the Plaza where actions happen and Edgar gives great recommendations on where to go without the tourist inflated prices! highly recommend for first timers in cusco.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Great and cheap.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Edgar and staff were very accommodating. He picked me up from the airport. Did my laundry and was very friendly!
- Aleksi Samuel (6/5): Basic hotel - Great location and very nice balcony. Very basic hostel with wool blankets. Rooms are not soundbarried. You can here everything from outside. But staff is kind and helpful and comparing price the hotel gives you necessarities.
- Hector (10/5): - All good
- Safari46464632282 (8/5): Cozy and warm place - The place was super cozy! Price was affordable. Every staff was very kind. Location was pretty good. The twelve sided stone (popular historical spot) was only 5 minutes walking from the hotel. The wifi was very good as well. They have 5G wifi. Breakfast was okay. Overall, I would recommend this place!
- Viktoriia (10/5): - This was a last minute booking for me, however the staff was super friendly and accomplished. Created with with coco tea and showed me to my room. Place was fairly clean and a decent one night stay. Close proximity to the center, also has a patio at the top where you can see a beautiful Cusco landscape
- Konrad (6/5): Great location, charm, and staff - but very noisy - The hotel staff are great and the hotel has a lot of character, but staying in the triple room, which is located on the front of the building, made sleeping challenging. The hotel is located on a narrow cobblestone road - part of its charm - but there is a surprising amount of traffic running down that road 24/7 including the incessant honking no matter the time of day or night. So the road traffic and extremely squeaky wood floors (both in our room and neighboring rooms) made it challenging for us to sleep even with white noise on full blast. To be fair, adjusting to the altitude probably contributed to the sleeplessness but that's kinda the point - if the altitude adjustment is going to make sleeping more difficult to start with, having a quiet room without distractions would have been nice. It took us to the 4th (and final) night there to finally sleep pretty well.
- Alecia (4/5): - Location was convenient but front desk was very unfriendly, the older woman specifically. Young man who worker overnight was nice. Lock on doors suck and property needs an upgrade. Struggled with luggage checking in and checking out and no help was offered even with male and female staff around. Would not stay there again.
- Nina (6/5): - I bought earplugs to sleep at night because you hear all of your neighbour. The rooms are very small with a very small window.
- Henry (8/5): One night in Cusco - Safe, clean room for a reasonable price.
Also friendly helpful owners
- Nataliya (10/5): - Great family hotel in a great location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great - The beds are very confortable and the rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly. The hotel has 24-hour reception and is situated in the hypercenter, very close to the 12-stone wall.
- LORENA (10/5): - Todo excelente, buen servicio
- Anne (8/5): Overall a lovely place to stay. - The staff were superb, they were all extremely helpful and provided a great service. The location was great, very central and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel’s common areas were pretty cold and not very comfortable.
- Rosineila (10/5): Excelente!! - Hotel excelente e bem localizado.
- Francisco (8/5): - Good breakfast
- Lucia (9/5): Superb -
- Tonia (8/5): - Charming hotel in the heart of Cusco.
- A6042GFjamess (10/5): Great place to stay in Cusco! - Francisca and Edgar were wonderful and very helpful hosts! They went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. Would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful, small hotel is close to Plaza de Armas and all restaurants and shops.
- Melba M (10/5): - Good budget hotel.
- MITCHELL (10/5): Would definitely stay again - The location of this mom and pop hotel is fantastic, very close to Plaza de Armas. The staff is very helpful and attentive and will make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. It was very easy to book a trip to Machu Picchu through the hotel and it went off without a hitch. The view from our room was amazing (see photo)
- Tony (2/5): - They sent my senior citizen mom and aunt to a 4th floor room. When I booked it, it didn’t mention facility being a 4th level home nor I was booking up there. No customer service or empathy.. never again
- Jeremy (6/5): - Casa Mayte is a beautiful quaint hotel in the heart of Cusco! The staff is wonderful and the hotel itself is gorgeous, the only but we have is that there’s no noise cancellations in the room! You can hear everything outside your room 😅
- James Millard (4/5): - Lights and noise start at 4 AM and do not stop. If you try to nap during the afternoon, don’t be surprised if the hotel personnel wake you up with full-volume music. Avoid if you plan on sleeping.
- Sightseer01633025346 (10/5): Lovely stay at a cute guest house - Very cute little guest house. Rooms were small but clean and cozy. It was cold when we arrived but they provided extra blankets and heaters. Breakfast was very simple but nice enough. Lovely helpful people. They can also organise tours for you which is very handy.
- Ena (10/5): - Great service, Francis went above and beyond helping me booking my tours to assure I enjoyed my stay. She was very kind and friendly with all her guest. I highly recommended this place to choose for a place to stay during your vacation in cuscu.
- Ena (10/5): - Francis the manager of the property was very nice and helpful in every way possible, she managed to booked my tours and I am so glad I did with her because I heard from other tourists that booked with other people how disappointed they were. That was definitely not my case, from transportation to food, Francis was the best to help. I saw her kindness with all her guests. I highly recommend her hotel. Thanks so much for everything Francis!!!!!!🙏 muchas gracias por todo.
- Maria (10/5): - Excedeed my expectations for the price. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast feels like being at home. The location is perfect, walking distance to the plaza.
- Maria (10/5): - Lovely home, very warming and welcoming. It was more than I expected for the price. Great service. I will definitely stay here again.
- Jons (10/5): Great place to stay in Cusco - This is a great hotel! Not only does it have a nice location in Cusco, the staff is also great and goes out of their way to help their guests. We got to store our luggage at the hotel when we went to Machu Picchu and they helped us with transportation to and from the airport, as well as giving us detailed information about the city. Can't recommend this place more.
- FORRESTER (10/5): - The hotel is very close to the center of the city. The owner of the hotel is extremely nice and does his best to help you.
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property should not be listed as VIP. There was no heat. Wibdow was broken in open position with a screw sticking out do management knew about it. There was no heat and room was very cold. WiFi kept losing signal and water in shower smelled so bad I could not take a shower. And toilet clogged.
- JAQUELINA (10/5): Bello lugar - Muy buen servicio
Excelente staff
Habitaciones y baño pequeño pero muy limpio
Muy linda vista desde la terraza
- Lionel (10/5): - Very nice staff! Francesca helped my sister and me get a good deal on the places we wanted to visit. Location is close to a lot of places to eat/drink/shop. Nice views from the top of the hotel. They kept our bags which we visited Machu Picchu, which was nice.
- Michelle (10/5): - I was greeted warmly and allowed into my room early. Everyone was kind and friendly. If I ever get back to Cusco City, Casa Mayte is where I want to be.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Everything was amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Ideal and cheap for solo travellers - It is very close to the main square and all restaurants, shops and tour companies are just couple of blocks away. The hosts were really kind to personally pick me up on a weekend since the taxi driver was not working on Sunday. I had to leave and come to the hotel at very odd times because of the tours start early morning (2-4 AM). There was no issue leaving and coming to the hotel at any time. The guy at the reception counter was very sweet. I did not understand Spanish and he did not understand English, but we communicated through the app. I would recommend la casa de mayte if you are travelling to Cusco and want a cheap and convenient option.
- Angelica (10/5): - Very close to the Plaza de Armas. Very nice staff, the rooms are well kept and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Smita (4/5): Good price, but hidden charges! - Cozy place. I wrote a review for the first part of my stay here (before a trek) which was fine. Stayed again after returning from the trek and was a little disappointed. The man who runs things is very nice and accommodating. He even stayed late to let us in when we returned from our hike. The location is very good; close to Plaza de Armas. And the place is quiet. I do not think our rooms had been cleaned since we left for the trek (we were away for four days) and we were given the same room. A man and a woman run this place. The woman housekeeper who is around during the day is very dodgy. We had let them know well in advance that we needed a ride to the airport (normally 10 soles from that location) and she charged us 40 soles for something that is one fourth of the price normally. Be careful and aware and organize your own rides and tours!
On top of this, the taxi was half an hour late and there was a lot of confusion. There was another family of three also needing a ride to the airport at the same time and they were given priority even though we had asked well in advance. My earlier review had said that airport pick-up, and luggage storage were free, but apparently not ...you just get charged for all of it at the end. I should have said something but at that point we were horribly late for our flight. Better to order your own taxi to the airport instead.
The whole experience at the very end left a very poor taste in our mouths. No one likes being taken advantage of.
- Smita (7/5): People make the diffeeence here! - The people running the place, especially the man and the woman who is the morning caretaker, are really very nice and accommodating. The room has an effective room heater which let us warm. We could also store our luggage for free for four days when we were out hiking the Inca trail. There was free airport pickup and drop off as well, which is very useful for new travellers who don’t speak Spanish well. The people really do try to take care of you and do their best. There is coca tea on offer 24/7, and the location is central but you can’t hear the street sounds. We also appreciated that they stayed to get us in when we returned from our hike late on a Sunday. Laundry is reasonably priced. Rooms are small and the sink and bathroom shower area did not drain properly. It is an old building so I suppose it comes with the terrain. The bed creaks like crazy. The rooms are arranged around a common area so if there are too many people staying in the hotel and using the common area, it can get noisy. Some folks have reported a good breakfast … we found no such thing. Maybe if one shows up right at 7 am!
- Lisette (7/5): Good -
- Edward (10/5): - Everything is great. The staff is super helpful and always willing to give suggestions and go the extra mile for you.
- TEXIERA (10/5): - The personal was amazing francisca and edgar were very helpful they helped us in everything i would highly recommend it hands down 😊😊😊
- Jose (6/5): - The location is great, the helper (worker) is a great human being when i was able to understand her (we both speak spanish).
Theres breakfast every morning, eggs with ham and bread.
The laundry is misleading. You have to pay 8 soles (2 dollars) per kilo.
In my room, the water pressure is low. Hot water was a struggle. Before 9am, there is no hot water.
Do not take the shuttle back to the airport, they will rip you off.
I enjoy my stay but those items were annoying.
- Goran (10/5): - Hotel stuff was very nice and helpful specially because we don’t speak Spanish
- Val (8/5): - You get what you pay for! The place is very clean with friendly staff but do not expect luxury, this is an older hotel! You get one towel and a soap. Breakfast is modest. I loved the location though as it was close to everything I needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Service service service! The staff went absolutely above and beyond to allow us to tour and site see Matchu Pichu. They allowed us to leave our bags over night even after we check out so that we could go into Aguas Calientes for a night with minimal baggage and come back after our trek. They also noticed we were in need of a tour guide and offered to make accomodations for us. We paid a reasonable price in comparison to the tours we found online and Francis took care of everything! From the train tickets to the hotel stay.. everything was handled. Could not have had a better experience :)
- Nikita (10/5): - We were given a room on the top floor which overlooked the city - amazing views. If you stay here try to get room 401.
- Nadia (10/5): Amazing place to stay in Cusco - Such a great place to stay in Cusco! We stayed here for a total of 6 nights, before and after our Inca trail trek. The hotel is very cute with extremely friendly staff. There is laundry service on site for a charge of 8 soles/ kilo which was perfect for us. They stored our luggage for free while we were trekking (and had it all ready for us in our room when we got back 4 days later!!) We had a beautiful room looking over the entire city. Breakfast was simple but nice to wake up to (cheese, meat, bread, a pastry, avocados, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate ect.) They also have coca leaves and hot water available at all times to help with acclimatizing. No elevator, but only four floors, and the staff offered to help us out first day. It's located only a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas and another 5-10 mins from San Blas which has many great restaurants.
