Guest Reviews
- Kooyip (10/5): -
- Ricardo (8/5): -
- Judith (8/5): - El paisaje Por la lejanía sería mejor que fuera all inclusive
- Yu (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cultural decorations in the hotel. Beautiful views from the balcony. Breakfast can be better 🙂
- Stanislav (7/5): Cool place and staff, bad management decisions - 1. Nice swimming pool and view. Also cocktails were great in pool bar!
2. Very nice restaurant, food and game zone near.
3. Despite we were only guests, we didn’t feel awkward. Staff attitude was very friendly
4. We liked jacuzzi a lot in a room The only thing - they told us that checkout should be 2 hours earlier than in booking, because of elections. It was few days after we booked a room. I asked for some offer (like discount in restaurant or bottle of vine) but they only offered early check in, which was useless in our case. I told about that, but looks like hotel management decided to save some money.
- Gabriela (10/5): -
- Isabel (8/5): -
- Ricardo (7/5): I loved the location with all the farms and great weather - Breakfast was very good . It had all the selections that I needed.
The The access road
- Vega (10/5): Excelente - Todo bien Espectacular
- florencia (6/5): No volvería.
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely lodge in an amazing place to RELAX and DISCONECT - Lovely lodge, spoted in an amazing area. Staff was very willing and helpfull. Make sure you take sunblock and a hat, even in winter! I strongly suggest arriving early and doing the trekking and other activities, as well as enjoying the view and relaxing. The drive to get there by km154 is SPECTACULAR, only to be done in a 4x4, highly recommended. The bathroom could have had a few more amenities, like hair condicioner, hair dryer and the shower towls could have been larger.
- Dr (8/5): Amazing hotel and location - Amazing location close to Caral, surrounded by lush irrigated avocado and citrus orchards in the desert mountains of the Andean foothills. The ranch and lodge are wonderfully designed and layed out, integrating new and (very) old. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the restaurant is excellent. Hotel is run down, maybe a covid legacy... The black paint covering the slate tiles on the floor has to go - it is peeling and looks terrible.
- Jingyue (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful hotel located among the archeological sites of one of the most ancient civilizations on earth. You can both relax while educating yourself on the history of the region. The staff will help organize rides to the sites from 3rd parties which is very convenient. The Jacuzzi on the balcony was a great addition to the stay. The restaurant and breakfast were very good. It is very tricky to drive here. Make sure you follow the hotel directions, don't rely on Waze or Google only. When the river is high in rainy season some sites require more driving.
- Simonavičiūtė-koreivė (9/5): Probably the best stay in Peru we had during a month of our travel. - The biggest bed we've ever slept in! Also comfy. Room and facilities neat and clean. Enjoyed the view opening to the orange trees. Great breakfast as well.
Didn't enjoy the massage I ordered additionally in their local spa. The masseuse didn't put an effort at all. The road to get to the place was not good and quite an exhausting one, even though the hotel put helpful road signs everywhere - so no chance to get lost.
be careful with hot water in the shower - you have to wait a good while for it to become hot, but when it does - it's boiling hot! 😅
- Arpi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ernesto (10/5): The hotel itself was great. - Breakfast and lunch were very good. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel surroundings were nice and great place to relax. The road to the hotel was terrible!. Casa Andina needs to invest on improving the road to get to the hotel. We drove to the hotel taking the most reasonable road, and when we were less than a mile to reach the hotel, we ran into the river that had to bridge to cross. The alternative road was miserable, it had no signs showing the path to the hotel and took us forever to reach the facilities. They must fix the road.
- Roger (10/5): - Very peaceful and beautiful place. Biggest bed I ever slept in!
- Juan (10/5): - Very very nice
- Lourdes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roderick (9/5): Superb -
Altamente recommendable.
- Maxwell (7/5): Fair - - Overall, the infrastructure is good.
- The restaurant's dishes and drinks are excellent.
- The shower is very good - The signage on the way to get to the hotel is poor and needs to be improved. It is not intuitive and the guest can get lost in an isolated place, with no phone signal.
- The service in the pool could be better, there was not a person dedicated to that.
- Could have a small refri in the bedroom
- Poor Breakfast
- Charles (10/5): - First off, the staff was amazing. I let my friend drive and when we got there he left the headlights on in my Jeep. The next morning my battery was dead. Three staff members brought their truck and helped me get it started. They saved the day!
My only criticism is in the room. We had #11. There is a ramp between the restroom and the bedroom. It's very slippery when wet. Inform guests to always wear shoes or sandals in the rooms because you could fall. I'd recommend painting the ramp and add sand or cat litter to the paint so it is not slippery.
- Grace (9/5): i really liked this place and will gladly come back - the view is beautiful and the hotel and restaurant are very nice with fantastic service wifi signal could be improved and restaurant menu could be more diverse
- Jeffrey (8/5): The Supe - The Supe valley view.
Also the lobby and restaurant area. The bedroom is lacking furniture to place things.
- Richard (6/5): - The property is hard to get to. One way you have to drive through a riverbed. Need to have TVs in the guest rooms. Ran out of hot water.
- Diana (10/5): - What a wonderful place the Empedrada is! It is like a slice of paradise: beautiful building, an old hacienda filled with antiques and interesting objects, very comfortable rooms and the food is fantastic. Above all, the staff is exceptional - so helpful, so charming and a real joy. It is surrounded by lush agricultural land which are home to many birds. It's very safe and a most enjoyable experience, we would love to go back.
- Bosha (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Great short stay in a beautiful area with brilliant staff - The staff were excellent, always looking to make sure that everything was just right for us. They handled a room problem by transferring us quickly and with no fuss.
The restaurant food was very good quality for all our meals.
- Adriane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiorella (9/5): Superb -
- Hugo (2/5): - We make a mistake arriving the 14, the ladies of loonies aloud us to take the room, the hotel was not full, the operational mannager was and ass, we have to drove back 4 hours, we where going to take meals , nice hotel but one idiot can destroy everything
- Monica (9/5): We had a nice and happy experience in the lodge. We would definitely recommend the place. - The logde is an excellent choice to escape from the dusty and noisy capital city. It is all surrounded by nature and avocado plantations. We enjoyed so much the scenery and the facilities and the food served there was made with fresh ingredients. Simply delicious! Somehow we had some bugs inside the room as the nets that served as protection were not in good condition and our son got some bugs bites in his toes. The coffee served during the breakfast was not as we expected and it did not have any taste or smell of coffee from Villa Rica. Maybe instant coffee would be a better choice.
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect, the road to come is not easy but it's ok, and there are great landscapes to see on this road, it's an adventure!
- Howard (10/5): wonderful staff, beautiful views, great location, loved our stay - perfect views and great food nothing to dislike
- Selin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristine (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (7/5): Unique location with great staff - The staff at Empedrada were great very friendly and willing to help. It is a very unique location as part of a very large agricultural property. if you stay make sure to request a room with a view. This place could be amazing but it needs a lot of work to warrant the price charged per night. The rooms are clean and comfortable but very basic. Our room had broken lights and furniture that needed to be replaced. The entire place is looking tired. ( No hairdryer in bathroom )
- FRANCISCO (10/5): - Un hotel con instalaciones y servicios espectaculares.
- Martina (10/5): Lo mejor!
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (10/5): - The property is stunning. The views are fantastic. It's like a mini Sacred Valley. The staff is very helpful and attentive. I'm planning on coming back. You need more than 24 hours if you plan to visit the ruins of Caral.
- Michael (10/5): A truly beautiful place to stay, amazing views! - A truly beautiful place to stay with amazing views. Everything about this place was excellent. Far out into the country and very peaceful. A few minutes drive from the historic site of Caral-Supe. Friendly and attentive staff. Overall great accomodations. Highly recommended!
- Chris (10/5): Great place to stay near Caral ruins - We travelled to Empedrada Lodge for a long weekend away from Lima and as a base for a visit to the nearby Caral ruins. The hotel is in a remote part of the Supe valley; it took an hour for us, by taxi, to reach it from Huacho. The hotel staff were very helpful during check-in and check-out, especially as we had to leave early on a Sunday morning to catch our Lima bus. The room had a large, extremely comfortable bed and plenty of space for luggage and hanging up clothes; outside we had a jacuzzi, balcony area and amazing views of the valley. The food in the restaurant was fresh, delicious and made promptly - the longest we had to wait was 45 minutes. The hotel had a games room and sitting area in another part of the complex and wifi available in the main lobby of the hotel. A tour of the nearby avocado and mandarin plantations was available on request and we were also able to walk up and around the nearby hills to get other views of the valley. One thing to note is that there is no mobile phone reception and limited range for wifi so a perfect excuse to put the gadgets away!
All in all, we had a lovely weekend at the hotel. We would highly recommend it for either a relaxing weekend escape or as a single night stopover in order to visit Caral. We would definitely visit again!
- carlos (10/5): Excellent to rest - Nice hotel, excellent view and the hospitality was very comfortable....
- Sergio (8/5): Convinient hotel to visit Caral - The Lodge just started operation few months months ago, so they are not offering any additional services. We had a different expectation given the price we paid, definitely the lodge is too pricey.
On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us a tour through the plantation, which was very informative.
