Guest Reviews
- Patrice (4/5): - There were bugs, but no bed bugs. That's good. The place is so old and grubby that probably should be torn down. But the staff was real nice.
- Jim (6/5): - Found hair in bathroom sink and in bathtub and long strands of hair between bathtub And toilet. Otherwise a little unkept but a place to sleep
Thanks
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No food. The bed was comfy. Too many insects in the room. The toilet was loose not bolted down to the floor. Mold on the tub chalking.
- Dora Jo (10/5): - I have stayed at the property before. It seems like they just do not clean very well. There was only 1 coffee pack and it was decaf. The property needs to be repaired in many areas. A/C cooled, but cycled off often, making the room uncomfortable during the night. No hot water in the shower.
- Elaine (1/5): DISGUSTING! If I could have gotten my money back I would have. I have never asked for money back! - We liked absolutely nothing! It’s obvious you never visited the facility. I suggest you take the time to do so. From the smell of marijuana in the room, plugged drain, sink front falling off, brown liquid all over walls, electrical outlets broken and exposed, rust in microwave, holes patched in walls and bathroom door, 60 year old carpet! I took pictures! It was the absolute filthiest place I’ve ever been in the 64 years I’ve been alive! EVERYTHING!
- DENNIS (8/5): - Check is 2pm. I got there a few minutes early and was allowed to check in early.
Room was spacious and cleaner than i thought it would be.
Hotel is convenient to a pretty good local restaurant and a Pilot truck stop.
- Bordages (7/5): Good - Great Prince and easy access to Points of interest. A breakfast buffet would have been nice.
- Ted (2/5): - Dirty moldy unsafe rooms. Do not stay here.
- Stacy (4/5): - Room was very old. Bathroom was moldy
- Timothy (3/5): Poor -
- Olutunde (6/5): - leaking plumbing
- Ron (5/5): Passable -
- Kari (2/5): - This hotel should be condemned. It was disgusting. We couldn’t stay there. First room was beyond filthy. They gave us another room. I opened the door and couldn’t walk in. The urine smell was strong. That was it for us. Left and just couldn’t believe this was even like this. I recommend finding another hotel.
- Chris (1/5): Bad -
- Trisha (8/5): - Great place to stay over for the annual MS150. It’s clean, quiet, near a local restaurant and that’s really all you need. The lower price reflects the location and age.
- Amy (6/5): - Front desk person was polite while eyeballing me with distrust and the condition of the facility was functional. Beds were made toilet flushed but there was dirt and grime in strange places. Think the cleaning staff were pissed that day
- Darryl (4/5): - Lawn was overgrown. Toilet did not flush and there looked to be mold spots on the lamp shades in the room. Noticeable holes in the wall where they were trying to find studs in the wall.
- Zoey (2/5): - The first room we were given smelled of piss as soon as we stepped into room. Looked in the bathroom and was left dirty and not cleaned up at all. Immediately asked for a new room, and the front desk didn’t even ask why. The second room smelled better (not of piss but still weird smell). Somewhat cleaned up better, but you could still tell the bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could be. The light fixture right above the bed was held up by thumbtacks, and there was a corner of the room that was a big bug graveyard. It was almost like they swept up all the bugs into one spot and didn’t even vacuum them up. Would not recommend.
- Jana (6/5): - Bathroom floor was not clean
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (1/5): Bad - The room was dirty with poor maintenance. I didn't feel safe and ended up leaving at 630 pm . There were only 2 other cars at the hotel. I could not spend the night there and ended up driving over 4 hours home.
- Melvin C (2/5): - Really bad hotel, smell of mold in the rooms. Bathroom really dirty.
- Dora Jo (8/5): - Bed was excellent.A/C was great. Nice and quiet area.
- Miranda (6/5): Owners were very friendly and nice. It’s just an old building. Price was cheap. - Good location.
Everything in the room worked. Ac was cold. Building is old and musty smelling. Window was broken and didn’t lock but they rigged a stick in window and they assured me the location is very very safe.
- Jonathan (2/5): - Room was dirty and dusty and the shower plumbing was bad. No towel rack because it was broken. And no hair dryer. Lots of shady people lingering in the parking lot. My hitch d-ring was stolen off my truck the first night!
- Gerald (4/5): All I can say is the staff were polite but everything else about my stay was disappointing. - The breakfast was non existent. All they offered was two different dry cereals and honey buns. Mr. coffee for the coffee with no artificial sweetener for it. Very disappointed Everything, The bed in the first room was so high I could barely get into bed. You had two watch the television from the bed, no seating in the room where the bed was. Very stuffy in the sleeping area. There was no comfortable seating in the room. No electric hookups where I used my computer.
- Jeff (4/5): No AC - We came here due to losing power during the hurricane. The hotel is an older property, but the room had no working air conditioner. The temp in the room never got below 80 degrees. We should have just stayed home.
- Cernosek (1/5): Nightmare - Dirty dirty dirty!!!!! The stained up comforter, the falling in ceiling, the insects and bugs crawling everywhere and dead carcuses everywhere, the nasty fridge stained up carpet
- Maria (10/5): - The bed was so comfy! Room was very clean
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was amazing! The room that we ended up was at the very back of the hotel. It was quiet and private, the room was very clean!
- Debra (10/5): - We stayed in the back area that was newer built and it was nice and quiet.
- David (4/5): Poor value for the money - The room is in serious need of rehabilitation. The toilet ran incessantly. The toilet bowl is cracked/broken on the exterior and poor patched with ceramic repair material that was not the right color. The baseboard tiles in the bathroom were mismatched in color with the room. There were several damaged spots on the walls, especially around the tub.
The room was poorly maintained in terms of cleanliness, especially along the baseboards and the bed pedestal. The bedspread was stained in several places. The chairs did not match the decor of the room.
There was one ceiling fan that could only be turned on at the wall switch. It was set to high. The pull chain that would have allowed changes in speed was too short to reach from the floor.
The ice machine was not working. The only way to get ice was to go to the office and have the worker get ice from a refrigerator in a back room.
Over all, the property is poorly maintained and is need of a lot of exterior repair.
While the room was priced toward the lower end of hotels in the area, the ratings available on the web site were badly misleading. Overall, I would think it was overpriced by at least $20/night, more comparable to lower rated facilities in the local area. It was not nearly comparable to other Executive Inn and Suites where I have stayed on previous travels.
I would not stay in this hotel again. As a result of this visit, I will be more attentive to the ratings of this company's properties in the future.
- Lynn (6/5): - Large room, worn carpet. Electrical outlets by the sink did not work, toilet was loose on the floor. Needs an update
- Paogoui (10/5): Business stop - Scary because only four vehicles there during the night.
- Veronica (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Jesusa (6/5): - The sheets were stain had lots of hairs on the bottom sheets
- Jessica (7/5): All in all was decent for a quick get away - It was very clean and spacious for the amount we paid and enjoyed the separate sitting area When you input address in GPS they take you on a unnecessary detour but the country side view was pleasant to look at so it balanced out and their complimentary breakfast was very basic cereal and hunny buns definitely could have been better perhaps yogurt or bagels and some fruit would go a long way
- Hagan (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable. Great value for the money Everything was okay
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a Family Hotel! Cheap motel! - This place is a dump!!! The room was deplorable, reeked of all kinds of smells, had to put a chair up to the window to keep the curtains up. The stay should have been FREE and I still wouldn’t stay there again. However, the Lady (Probably the Owner) was very friendly.
- Christy (10/5): One Night Stay - Nice and quiet. Not fancy but, nice and clean.
- Ken (7/5): Good - Price, space, cleanliness Location on booking.com is shown in the wrong place, about a mile south of the actual location. This caused me problems, but local people helped out.
- James (6/5): Pleasant - No hot water in shower…
- James (10/5): - Nice big clean rooms
- rick (6/5): - It is CLEAN. It is on the HWY half way between Houston and SA. It needs to be remodeled but I'm sure it hasn't because of the 2 years of no travel. The cable is basic with no major stations. The WIFI is weak. (but I was in the back). Nice people struggling in middle America.
- Brenda (4/5): - The room was only vacuumed and aired out, you could see where they did not take the time to replace or properly repair items. When they were cleaning a room next to us they only used the vacuum and Windex. Did not remove the sheets in the room. Our room had a dead mosquito on the shower wall. Most definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
- Janice (10/5): - It was an older property but clean and staff very nice
- Martha (4/5): - I didn't like the run-down and dirty rooms or the resident Rooster
- Mary (7/5): We stayed for our son’s wedding - The location and staff
- Randolph (8/5): - The only problem was the a/c unit It didn’t cool very well
- Bob (8/5): Quick stop for a few hours sleep and a shower. - Location Older - needs updating to carpeting, furniture
- Ronald (8/5): - This place was quiet and clean, especially for the age of the property. I stayed in a single, king sized room, non-smoking, for a couple of nights while my air conditioning was being repaired. Staff was friendly. No complaints.
- Marla (8/5): - An older motel with a really comfortable bed.
- David L (10/5): - Basic, affordable, no frills property. Exactly what I was looking for. Clean, tidy. Room had a small work area perfect for catching up on emails.
- Bennie (6/5): - Room we stayed in was in need of repair in bathroom. Couch had a board under it for one leg .Breakfast only consisted of cereal no fruit or anything to go with it.
- Cody (10/5): - Clean outside area and spotless inside
- Robert (6/5): - It met expectations
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- ROLANDO (10/5): - The place was well kept and well lit at night. The place was a quiet for peaceful nights sleep.
- N. John (4/5): Nothing "Executive" about it - This place is a dump. I did not care to take a bath given the poor state/looks of the tub, and i did not sit on the toilet seat. Moreover, i dont believe the owner(s) of this property understand what a suite actually is.
- Taylor (2/5): - Distasteful and employees yelled at me.
- Bruce (2/5): - Staff very unimpressive, don't interrupt me
- Randall (8/5): - Friendly staff, older facility.
- Jean (8/5): - The room was clean. We were very late check ins as we
had been at a musical performance, the staff was very cordial as if it was no problem at all.
- MARSHALL (8/5): My stay - Check in was quick and easy. They had the the room heated before i arrived, so that was nice. The ice machine was broke but the staff got ice for me.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean. But gave me a key the first room. Went and turned the A/C on, then left to go eat. Came back and key wouldn't work. Office said they had moved me to another room. Did contact me to tell me.
- Jacob (2/5): Poor chouce you can do better! - This place us RUDE beware! I had made a reservation ane all to find out that it eas over booked...And then want2d me to pay double if i wantef to stay???
- ou (2/5): - It was realy terrible stay there!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The rooms smelled like ammonia real bad...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value - Old dated hotel resembling motel 6. Needs some work.in rooms. Had old curtains. Broken tub water valve, peeling paint. But if your looking for value, this is it. Friendly staff.
- Nora (6/5): - I booked the room approx. 30 minutes before I needed it. I will admit that it was 1 AM. There was a "vacancy" sign on the door, a sing saying, "We're open" and a sign outside saying "Ring bell for service". After booking the room, I drove to the hotel, and rang the night buzzer several times and called once. No one came to the window. I called Hotels.com to cancel my reservation and they called the hotel. A woman come to the window to answer the phone. She allowed me to get the room that I booked and to bring in the puppy that I had. There is a $15 pet fee, and I was willing to pay that. The room looked dated, but was nice and big. The bathroom looked like it was newly refinished. Over all...I had an ok experience, but I will not be staying here again.
- Donald (4/5): Stinky - The place was dingy and dark and some of the lights did not work
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is in need of repairs
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's good for the price of stay for 1 night.
- Belinda (2/5): Never Again - This was the worst stay I ever had. Sheets were stained torn & did not fit. Felt dirty. We had 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper. Bathtub was rusted & dirty. Ice machine did not work. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. I should receive some kind of compensation. I will also notify the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is an adequate budget hotel. If you want to go for the lowest price and aren't picky, this place is adequate. Wi-fi is weak, property is fraying around the edges, and not all the information in the listing is accurate. Lights don't always work, fixtures are on their last legs (or past them), but that's what you should expect in bottom-dollar accommodations. They definitely didn't follow the cleaning and safety practices listed, so I wouldn't stay there again, but if that doesn't bother you, this place works for a low-budget stay.
- Calvin (2/5): Disgusting - The room was dirty, had bugs, and a horrible smell. There was masking tape on the door lock.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nothing special but it does the job
- James (4/5): Rather sleep in my truck - Dirty bed sheets. Room hasn’t been dusted in a long time. Dead spiders along base boards
- William (6/5): Ehhh... - The reason for my review is entirely based on the neglect of this hotels owners to keep it clean. Its not the worst hotel i have stayed in by far. But the shower in particular was very gross. I have attached a photo. The price certainly reflects the quality.
- Brandon (8/5): - Good
