Guest Reviews
- Stephanie (2/5): Do not book here unless you want to set yourself up for a disappointment - The hotel staff were nice & kind people, but they need to have a better training & understanding of their role as waiters and cleaners. I liked that it took 3 minutes on foot to get to the plaza mayor. Except for the nice & kind staff, almost everything I did not like. The amount of money paid was very incongruent to the value & quality of the small/tiny hotel room I was booked in (I paid less for a ***** 5 star hotel in Guatemala City); the cleaning service was very poor (they cleaned my room only once and only because I asked for them to clean it; even then I had to ask the cleaner to come back and clean the room floor & bathroom floor. The waste basket was never emptied. The bed was hard & the bed headboard was shaky & my things on the bed kept falling through the crack between bed & headboard; the bed & pillows were hard, so sleep was difficult. Noise levels (people talking at reception) woke me up many times because the room walls & windows were made with inferior quality materials & insulation from noise was nil. The ground floor was dark and gloomy, the tables for breakfasts were in that dark space. The quaity of food was terrible, and the table service provided was below par. Staff training needs to be done for cleaning and serving staff. Overall, this place has no good qualities (excepting the distance to town). The open space on upper floor was used by all the guests so the noise level was high. I had to sequester a table & 2 chairs to place in front of my room door because there was no space in my room for a laptop, no chair in my room, no table in my room, no clothes cupboard, and I had to ask for hangers so that I could use the wall hooks for all my clothes. I was totally disappointed the 6 nights I was there, and I tried to stay away from the hotel as much as possible to enjoy the beautiful city of Antigua.
- Cach (10/5): - Muy buen ambiente

- Michaela (3/5): Pick a different place,if you can - I don't mean to be mean, but there was really nothing to like:( I couldn't wait to get out of there:( First of all -the value for money?none. There are equally cheap/expensive hostels in Antigua that are muuuuuch nicer (I stayed in 3 different ones,so I believe I can compare).
-They didn't know about my reservation at first, but okay, it happens it was sorted out in a few minutes
-There were no blinds on the beds (which is now a must I think, and there were pics with the blinds on beds on the booking. So maybe other rooms had them, but not mine.
-The worst bed I've ever experienced in a hostel. It felt like sleeping in a hammock. Really needs an upgrade of the mattress
-One bathroom for 2 rooms (8ppl in my room alone). Which wouldn't technically be a problem. I'm talking toilet, sink and a shower in the same room. So if you need to pee or brush your teeth while someone's in the shower.... it's just not acceptable
-Also,the bathroom was just yack. I'm really sorry, but it was. And so was the room.it looked more like an orphanage than a hostel.
I really wouldn't recommend this place if you have other options (which I haven't as I unexpectedly needed to extend my stay and almost everything was booked out for that specific night).
- Giada (1/5): AVOID. - The place itself is basic but acceptable, very well located. The ladies working there are nice and accommodating, if anything I feel extremely sorry for them and suggest they go and work elsewhere. Everything else. It is a scam and the owner is extremely rude. I generally don't leave bad reviews, but this place is threatening, not just poorly managed. We paid for a room with private bathroom and, as it was outside of the room, we kept finding it covered in other people's feces every time we would walk in, making it disgusting to use. When I called to address the problem, the man behind the phone stated he could not understand what I was saying because I don't talk like a Guatemalan (I am fluently bilingual Spanish speaker and have been living in Guatemala for 5+ years) and he also tried to mansplain the obvious to me, kept talking over me, so much so that I hung up because it was impossible to stop the useless monologue. I showed up at reception to speak with someone in person and they stated no manager was there to attend me. I work with Antigua hospitality industry myself and know THIS IS NOT OK.

- Jeffrey (7/5): Good value - The location was very good, and the price was right. Also the staff was very nice and accommodating At first, I was placed in the top floor room, which was basically a wooden box that they had added to the property… much like a sauna, it got very hot during the day, but once I turned on the fan, things cooled down
- Matthew (6/5): Best bang for a buck - It was cheap and available when all other hotels had no room they speak no English have a translator room was clean and serviceable but spartan and lots of street noise breakfast was awesome Street noise and shower
- Karla (8/5): Very good - I liked the friendly staff, we were a group of 15 people and they kindly received us at different hours because we were arriving from different cities in Guatemala. They prepared us a packed breakfast because we had to leave early in the morning to hike Acatenango Volcano. Julio was very helpful and always there assisting us in what we needed. I higly recommend them and for sure we'll stay with them next time we arrive to Antigua. There was only a shared shower
- Erika (6/5): Pleasant - I liked that I got a private bathroom. The entrance to the room was located on a busy street. The walls/ceiling, and doors are very thin. There was a space under the door and you could feel cold wind coming through. There wasn't any warm/hot water.
- Pratik (1/5): Bad - Nothing Room was very dirty, insects in room, I left within 2 hours of checking in
- Colum (3/5): Poor - It had pillows 🤷🏼♂️ Building work at 6.30am, toilet didn’t work, didn’t feel like a hostel.
Basically they had thrown together pods in area of a restaurant. Light is on all night so if you’re in the top pods NO LUCK! Also the lockers where part of the make shift wall so you get the added bonus of getting woke up every time a fellow traveler’s is retrieving there stuff.
Probably the worst hostel experience I’ve had, mind you I can’t comment on the rooms or the hotel only the pods.
Also it has busy traffic from the crack of dawn.
- Godoy (2/5): Very poor -
- Tomasz (6/5): Pleasant - Good location We had the last available room and it was actually in the restaurant next door behind the kitchen
Very loud and strange until the restaurant closed at 8pm.
Also zero natural light.
- Melissa (4/5): The location and comfort were good but the noise in the early morning was completely absurd. - I liked the location of the hotel to touristic points of Antigua. The check in and out were appropriate and easy. I also liked that we had a private bathroom, TV, and convenient furniture. I appreciated the staffs attention to our car and helping us with parking. I did not appreciate the fact that there is no silence policy as this ruined our stay. We were awoken at around 5am every morning on a vacation where we craved sleep and peace. I'm not sure if the noise comes from the street or people in the establishment but either way the paper thin walls did not help. There should be a warning about the noise on the room description because it is a deciding factor for many people.
- MARIO (2/5): - The room was in deteriorating conditions and not so clean and well maintained nevertheless expensive.
- Saucedo (9/5): Superb -
- Quentin (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - Good location
- Carlos (8/5): - It’s like traveling back in time. Beautiful and cozy place
- Elisabeta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tiffany (6/5): Close to the center area. Staff was helpful. - close to center area. Quit and staff helpful Bathroom was uncomfortable and bed very old. No hand pump or paper towels in shared bathroom
- Julie (5/5): Very expensive for what you get! Not worth it! - The location was excellent. it had a good rooftop. The staff were lovely if someone incompetent. When we first got there, they thought we were to be in a certain room. As they could not find the key. we had to wait a half hour and then move our luggage to a lodging that was beside the main hotel. After another 15 min, they found the key and opened our room. Open entering . we discovered that the place was occupied. Upon noticing that there was a computer on the bed, several phone chargers and a couple of knapsacks, I stared that the room was already occupied. Without looking in the staff said no and was equally as surprised as us when he looked in and saw computer and luggage. He then had to call someone and then stared thar I was right and this was not our room. We moved back to the main hotel and for our room . We ended up with all the taxes and price line booking charges ended up paying about 20$ Canadian more than we had expected. The room was okay but small. Even though they knew there were two of us we had to ask for a second towel. We asked for breakfast to be ready for 7:30 am as we had a shuttle picking us up at 8 am. There was no one there to serve us breakfast at 7:30. At 7:50 am they came by to tell us that breakfast was ready. Although we had written down our time of departure and told them twice. they seemed surprised when we told them we had no time to eat the breakfast now. The staff were polite and friendly but they just didn’t seem to know how to run a hotel. The bed was a little hard and the pillows were very big and hard. As a result I did not have a great sleep. Definitely not worth the $167 Canadian we had to pay. It was okay but definitely not worth the money we paid for the place. Would not recommend this place unless you are desperate. clean but way overpriced for what you get!!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramírez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emanuel (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (3/5): felt unsafe - good location beds to small and u comfortable, the place was not very clean. there are no night rules for guess. four dunks people came into the room at 2:00 am and didn’t stop screaming until 4:00 am.
- Matt (5/5): Passable -
- Alejandro (8/5): Very good -
- Mona (4/5): Disappointing - Very central - good location. Pubic hair in the shower, frequently missing soap & toilet paper in the toilets
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great price. Dorm beds are very thin. Wasn't able to leave early (between 6-6:30 am) because staff had the front entrance locked but were not around to open it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didn’t get what I spected for my money and I was threatening about not getting breakfast the next morning even do I was going pay for it so I left really the next morning
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No parking & no Internet. I requested these services, but it didn’t have them. Noisy room.
- Luis (6/5): Fair Solution - It was a fair solution for staying one night.
- Jay (4/5): A Dump - Rude unhelpful staff. Over priced . Bad and inadequate toilets crowded Boring
- c (8/5): Friendly staff - Friendly staff, big terrace, Wi-Fi intermittent issues. Felt some bed bugs bites. Some of the rooms face a very busy street, gets really noisy early in the morning.
- Doris (10/5): - Muy bien
- pola (8/5): Nice hotel on 7a oriente, Antigua - The hotel is new and very pretty. We stayed in a double, and the only problem was that it had no windows. So ventilation was not great and I personally like to have windows. I think the other rooms may be different.
