Colocar aire acondicionado en el resto de habitaciones para disfrutar tan bellas instalaciones. Mucho corte de corriente. No hay plan B (paneles solares), la piscina por consiguiente sin mantenimiento adecuado. Falta de privacidad, el personal con aparatos electrónicos (no escuchar música / YouTube) Las plantas descuidadas.

- James (8/5): Great stay with incredible view, however note the privacy - Loved the breakfast, especially the pancakes! The main staff member who seemed to be in charge was very friendly and accommodating. The common area/ pool around the pool is a really nice space. The room we had booked "Deluxe room with sea view" (included aircon etc) had some real privacy issues. It was right next to the kitchen, common area and pool. This, combined with the sliding doors not closing properly, and communal seating outside our room, made it a very noisy room, especially during breakfast. However, when we asked to move rooms to a more private one, the host was very accommodating and was happy for us to change with no issues.

- Roxana (9/5): Áreas de mejora - La vista a los paisajes y el bungalow en medio de la naturaleza. Mejor iluminación en el camino, falta aseo en el baño, mejor disposición del personal del día libre, desramar copas de los árboles para mejorar la vista. No estaba el minibar que ofrecieron y mejorar la limpieza de la piscina.
- Marcela (2/5): Mold in the rooms, I couldn’t sleep well. - This was 3rd time staying at Casa Andalucía. But unlike the other times, the experience was really bad. I want with my family and we got 5 rooms, and 3 of them had a very bad smell. Mine especially had mold, we had to open both doors and the window, turn off the fans and even with that it was difficult to sleep. The cabins need better maintenance, you can see mold on the walls, especially in the bathroom area. I have the feedback to the staff and I hope my feedback was shared with the owners. There’s a lot of humidity in the area and the cabins require a change of paint and ideally have AC to fix the mold problem. I came back home with an itchy nose and I’m sure that the bad smell contributed to my allergies.

- Robert (5/5): We chose Not to stay there. - We chose NOT to stay once we saw the bungalows. They were supposed to have air conditioning but there was none. They had windows with cloth covering them to keep out the hot Sun. The rooms were fair, not very nice.
- Mariana (4/5): - Really sad to be giving this rating as this property had everything to be a 5-star stay, with an amazing view to the town/beach and a nice little pool area etc, but unfortunately my stay was a nightmare! Do not book the room by the pool/with view to the town/beach, this room is right next to the kitchen! It is extremely noisy with staff talking, cooking, people having breakfast etc. honestly it really is that bad! The door to enter the room is inside the kitchen/common area so there’s constant noise of people talking/doing stuff. Also, at the back is the laundry space so you hear the washing machine constantly working & staff are always hanging clothes etc so they can see you through the window, no privacy at all! The “balcony” area advertised is not private! There are tables for the guests to eat outdoor - I got woken up at 7am with the noise of a couple eating breakfast and talking loud right in front of my window. Also another guest sitting in the recliner chair on that space. Also be aware that there is only one lady “in charge” (she’s the cleaner, cook, receptionist, etc) and she only speaks spanish which would be a huge language barrier for a lot of people. Breakfast is super small/simple and location is quite a walk from the beachfront area (super inclined as well so it’s a bit of an effort to get to the top by foot). Not super clean either (had staines in my sheets and towel). Don’t know about the rest of the rooms but I definitely DON’T recommend the one by the pool!
- paula (8/5): - Lots of stairs to walk down the cabin, needs lighting. It was super dark and very unsafe for us at night. Super deep. There were lot of ants and bugs walking around the place. Please be aware of security cameras looking at you, no privacy. With was one of the reasons that I booked this one. Breakfast was late and very simple. No parking lot. Other than that is ok.

Además, la ventana del baño no tenía cortinas, lo cual resultó muy incómodo ya que el personal pasaba justo por esa área, comprometiendo completamente la privacidad. Definitivamente no volvería ni lo recomendaría.
- Gintare (9/5): Oasis with a stunning view and tasty breakfast - Stunning view, delicious breakfast, and a superb room. We didn’t enjoy the city much, so this property was a lovely getaway from all the hustle and bustle—a perfect way to end our evening while watching the sunset, birds and monkeys roaming through the trees. Pool is small but a nice touch for the evening dip with the sunset. The hill is steep, so you'll want a motorcycle rather than a scooter here. Our bungalow was beautiful, though it would have been better if the toilet had a full wall for privacy. All in all, it's a great place—it just needs a bit of extra care. Small details, like a few more hangers for clothes and chairs on every porch, would make a difference. (Our neighbors had only one chair, while we were lucky to have a full set and really appreciated it!)

- Jimmy (9/5): Beautiful location and friendly staff - The location is perfect...just out of the thick of San Juan Del Sur but easily walkable. The hill is a little steep...but not too bad. You CANNOT beat the view...it is stunning. The staff was very friendly and the recommended masseuse was awesome! The room could have been a bit tidier...it wasnt dirty by any means... just felt like it lacked a bit of deep cleaning... like cobb webs in the corners ect... I also stayed in the room connected to the kitchen...and the staff was very loud very early in the morning...I would recommend not staying in the main house if you like to sleep in

- Amber (2/5): Very poor - The view and watching monkeys in the trees The staff didn’t really welcome us, just sat there on their phones. Gave us the key to our room and showed us the door. Didn’t tell us any information about the accommodation etc where things are (water, coffee), the local area, how breakfast works. Standard things you would normally get when checking in. When it came to breakfast, I sat outside for 10 minutes waiting to see if they’d come over. They sat there on their phones eating their own breakfast, so we decided use to go out instead, at this point they asked if we wanted anything to eat. It says there are toiletries in the listing, but there is none. There were stains on the sheets too! The pictures of the pool were taken a few years ago, so are deceptive, to the point where we didn’t even use the pool. Be prepared for the hill to climb too to get there, of course you expect a climb if you have a view, but something to consider if you had a baby, pram, wheelchair etc. Luckily we just cracked on with things and it didn’t ruin our time in San Juan del Sur, but I’d recommend just staying elsewhere in the town.
- Susan (7/5): Great view, nice space, cardio workout with all the stairs. - Gorgeous view of SJDS, the property is beautiful, try to not stay in the lower bungalows as they are not finished and unfortunately we felt a little cheated because the rest of the units look very luxurious. The breakfast and the staff are fabulous. We were in a lower bungalow that is not finished, no art work or furniture really, no drinkable water and it is a long climb straight up to the main house so that sucked, the sheets had hair on them like someone had napped or something and the shower does not have much water pressure. The staff was very good though and made their best effort to provide us a good stay!

You'll have to ask to have the room cleaned. The king-size room was spacious plenty enough for myself. I stayed in the king-size room. Pictures are only from one room, which they told me was booked. I had booked for 1 week. The room only has a ceiling fan and gets hot because I didn't want to leave the door open over night there isn't a screen. It is kind of overpriced for the accommodation. Hotel price for hostel living.
- Jaimi (6/5): Good view, dirty run down place with potential. - Nice view and decent breakfast. Strong internet. Fast Landry service. It is exactly how it was described by the previous reviewers: ants in the room, someone else’s hair in the shower drain, stains on the sheets, and they don’t clean your room unless you ask them to. It was pretty filthy. The staff were nice to let us switch rooms to one of the cabins which was great as we often shared the place with large groups and it could get noisy. The rooms in the main house were nicer than our cabin but lack privacy. Other cabins looked nicer than ours, but I was just happy to have privacy.

We got to this place in the middle of a hot day, our taxi took us all the way to the top of the hill, if you did not know this is not in walking distance from the beach. Very steep. But that is not the issue. We were greated by a lady who did not speak a single word in English. No problem, I pulled my translator. She was requesting full payment, that is AFTER we have already paid for our first day through Expedia. She insisted we pay in full although I showed her receipt from Expedia where we were clearly charged for the first day. Did not matter how many times we tried telling her, showing her, we eventually were forced to leave the property (mind you this is basically somebody's house with a tiny pool, almost like a hostel). So we got thrown in the heat, out in the street, she called us a cab. Our driver took us to Hotel Alcazar a nicer and more expensive hotel on the beach strip. Reported this to Expedia, they could care less. Supposedly they tried to contact the place, did not get ahold of anyone within 5 days and sent us an email stating that full charges apply! And yes, we got charger close to $400 and never stayed there. We are now disputing charges with VISA, we will see how this goes. Horrible place, horrible people, beautiful country though, just find a different place and know that Expedia is not Airbnb, crooks hiding behind a corporation. Last time my family will book through Expedia.

Reviews around stealing were obviously worrying. - Casa Andalucia is in a beautiful location, the view is amazing of the beach and town. We had the place to ourselves. Really liked the pool, hammock and outdoor seating. - The room wasn’t clean, ants everywhere and blood stains. - Sadly we read two reviews about staff stealing things while we were staying so this tarnished our stay slightly as we were worried to leave. I must add that nothing was taken. My recommendation for Casa Andalucia is to refurb and rebrand the hotel. It’s an amazing location with a lot of potential but the simple things need to be done night! My summary is at first sight this place is amazing but when you stay longer you realise some issues.

- Jay (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE, THEY STOLE THINGS FROM OUR ROOM WHEN WE WERE OUT!! - Nothing, it was a disgusting place to stay, they stole from us when we weren't in the room! Then they just ignored us and said they didn't steal anything. Read the bad review part for more details. They are gated, have 24/7 security, so only authorised people can get in. No one else was staying at the hotel apart from us. Horrible place to stay and scary. Imagine trusting people and they steal your things!! DO NOT STAY HERE! The place stole from us when we weren't in the room! I 100% would not stay here and would not recommend anyone to stay here either unless you want them to steal from you too. My partner and I had a few items stolen from us on the last night we stayed. We were having a nice evening out and they must have all come into our room stole things from us. They didn't just take whatever they could see, there were things like small items and bags with various things inside other packaging and they had opened it ALL and looked at every little bit and taken things. We got back late and didn't notice anything as we only had things out that we were using, the rest was in our backpack, therefore we never checked anything we didn't take out. The next morning, the host was really weird with us, she wouldn't look us in the eye, didn't offer us coffee (which she did every day before), she kept avoiding us and even when we left, didn't even come and say bye. This was weird because through out the rest of the stay, she would be very chatty. No other staff was to be seen either, so it was all a bit weird but we didn't take any notice of it because we were leaving. The thing that makes this even more worrying is that the road leading to the hotel has a barrier so only authorised people can get through. Furthermore, the whole hotel is gated so you can only get in if you have a key. Even more so, they have a guard 24/7 there, so no random person can get in. On top of all that, they have CCTV everywhere and a big screen where they watch the CCTV. This shows that the only people that can go into our room are the staff. If you think this is bad, then read on. When we got to our next accommodation, we realised things were missing, so we messaged the hotel on booking.com. They didn't reply, so I messaged them again the next day and guess what? They didn't reply again.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyable - Lovely facility, very relaxing. The lady overseeing the place, Marjorie, is very kind and responsible. I enjoyed my daily breakfast. The rooms need a little TLC and a bit more insect control throughout the property. Be careful with the hill up to the property, it's very steep.
- Theresa (8/5): All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot! - Perfect place to relax and spend some days in a nice atmosphere. The view is amazing and they serve very good breakfast. The staff was not very helpful. The flushing from the toilet did not work but no one seemed to care to fix it. After some hours finally someone tried to find a solution. We were staying three nights and it would have been nice to get our room cleaned at least one time. Especially if you pay a significantly higher price compared to the hotels in the city center.

- Chantale (10/5): Best view in San Juan Del Sur !! - The view is breathtaking when you arrive at the establishment! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast added a nice touch! There’s a hill to walk up if you’re walking to the place, but the view you get is worth all the sweat!
- Christine (9/5): Amazing trip. Beautiful pool and view. - Exellent place to stay. Just minutes walk from the town up a pretty big hill that makes you feel like you are surrounded by jungle. Breathtaking view of the ocean. The lady that works at the main lodge during the day is amazing. Very social atmosphere amongst guests since we all shared the main lodge and pool area. I met quite a few interesting people from all over the world. We even went on a few excurians and cooked meals together. Nobody to reach that could speak english.

- Jose (6/5): - The property has a very nice view of the bay, which makes it worth the stay. The pool and patio area is really nice, clean and enjoyable. It's a short walk from the center of the town but the last part is uphill. The only issue we had is that the room (pool view) we had is right next to the kitchen and there were a lot of ants, and the garbage is next to the room door. The cabin rooms seemed much better options.

They decorated the room before our arrival which made it feel luxurious The vibe from the staff was a bit weird. No one looked at me when I arrived and I asked for more yogurt for breakfast once (don’t chose the yogurt option) and she litteraly gave me a teaspoon

- John (8/5): Highly recommended stay for those willing to climb the hill daily to arrive at the amazing view. - - Great view - Helpful staff - Tasty breakfasts especially pancakes - Good value for money For me this isn’t a bad point as we knew before we came - just be aware like others have said the hill climb can be tough in the heat, especially with bags. So anyone who is unfit would likely need a taxi every time. Some tried to add on $5 to our journey just to go up the hill.

- Becky (9/5): A beautiful, relaxing stay! - We had a brilliant, relaxing stay at the hotel. The facilities were excellent, the view was stunning and the pool was amazing. We loved the outdoor breakfast every morning and really felt safe with the night watch staff. The bed was huge and very comfy and the bathroom a great size. We were very fond of the lady that took care of us - she made us feel very comfortable and was a great cook! Thank you! The walk to the hotel is steep - so be mindful! The shower was cold throughout our stay. We were always very warm so this wasn’t a problem! Check in could have been more helpful with someone more confident to pass on more information/ a member of the Casa Oro reception team came to assist.

Just could do with some extra hanging hooks in bathroom &/or a small coffee table/bench for ones suitcase. Some of the outdoor furniture is looking tired & deteriorating & could do with a revamp.

- Wilfred (1/5): Failure to Provide What was Confirmed and Raised Price After We Got There - The monkees in the trees. The view from the top levelm They did not honor our confirmed price for 2 adults and a child, saying our reservation was for 2 adults despite my documentation. They did not provide the agreed upon tv, pool towells, desk and chair and toiletries, again asserting that we could cancel. It took us three hours to get there and there are scarce rooms available during Holy Week. Finally, the stairs to our room were steep and uneven and I fell and was injurred. We climbed these stairs at night to sit on the upper deck. The lower levels where we were were unlit and we were left tobuse cellphones to light our way. Last time coming to this place.

We liked the garden! Would be nice to have available an extra bed for the kids. Air Condition could be another good option.

- Emily (10/5): Stunning view, great pool - The pool, view, and breakfast were amazing! Absolutely loved the Arbol bungalow! Would definitely go back. Make sure you’re booking a sea view bungalow, as the garden ones included lots of stairs. If you can get Árbol, book that one! If you aren’t in shape, willing to rent a car or motorcycle, or pay for a taxi you won’t want to stay here. The hill is vicious! We walked it almost every time for a great workout, but I would not do it with your luggage!

Breakfast was good and the staff who cooked and served were friendly and kind. The pool was just right for cooling off in the heat of the day. There was no water pressure in our shower!
