• Leo (8/5): - Het enthousiasme van Steve die met veel passie zijn bedrijf runt en daaarbij de volle medewerking krijgt van zijn steun en toeverlaat Lilly. De rustige kant van het eiland waar het nog een beetje het Thailand is van jaren geleden, de mooie natuur en natuurlijk de lieve Thaise bevolking. Helaas konden wij niet met de lokale taxi in het Oosten komen. Waardoor we een taxi moesten regelen waar eigenlijk een buitensporig bedrag (ten opzichte van de lokale taxi) voor moest worden betaald. Daar kunnen de hotel eigenaren natuurlijk weinig aan doen.

Après avoir été déçus par le côté ouest beaucoup trop touristique, tomber sur ce havre de paix a été la meilleure chose de notre voyage. Nos 5 jours sur place étaient idylliques, la piscine, le bungalow, le service aux petits soins, tout y est fait pour passer un doux moment. De ne pas avoir booké plus de nuit !! Mais nous reviendrons c'est sûr et certain !

• Jacqueline (10/5): - Lilly and Steve are amazing hosts. They go out of their way to realize any wish. The location is very beautiful and calm. It is best to rent a scooter to explore the area and necessary if you want to enjoy the beaches. It was lovely staying there and I can totally recommend if you want to relax and enjoy the nature.

If you're looking for a quiet, unhurried vacation, privacy, and silence, you'll love Privacy Resort! Several comfortable double bungalows are equipped with everything you need. There's a clean pool and a beautiful garden with a variety of wondrous plants and flowers that's a delight to the eye. The sounds of the jungle, birds, and the wind become especially vivid after sunset. And what an incredible moon! Mmmm...you can watch it while lying by the pool or sitting on the veranda of your bungalow! Это чудесное место для отдыха! Это была моя первая поездка на Ко Чанг и в Таиланд. • isabelle (9/5): Un grand merci à Lily et Steve . - Le resort est très agréable , situé sur la côte est de l’île ( moins touristique et plus éloigné des jolies plages ) Les bungalows et le jardin sont très bien entretenus . Lily et Steve sont très accueillants et bienveillants. Notre petite famille a été aux petits soins pendant ce séjour de 7 nuits . Même si la location d’un scooter est indispensable, on trouve à proximité de très bons petits restaurants ( Ban Kafae, Coconut Garden ) et de jolies pépites comme le Spa café . La proximité de la route gâche un peu la tranquillité mais , après 19h , la circulation est limitée. La Location d’un scooter ou voiture est indispensable.

• jonasfamily (10/5): Peaceful & Clean with Pool - We liked the location on "the quiet side" or east side of Koh Chang because we enjoyed exploring the roads and attractions with less traffic. Our rooms and grounds were immaculate. The pillows were more comfortable than other places we have stayed. The pool is cleaned daily and the other guests were quiet and respectful. The room was stocked with beer in the fridge and some sealed snacks -- good that we didn't have to run out to buy anything but there are a few restaurants within walking distance. The best coffee (locally grown) is just down the road. There is some road noise during the daytime until about 7pm.

• Laurel (10/5): Mesmerising. The place was utterly beautiful. - I loved that the property wasn’t in the hustle and bustle and was more a retreat. The ability to relax and be at one with nature whilst having the flexibility of a short journey to more social areas of the island. Being a solo traveller I can’t thank the resort owners Lily & Steve enough for their hospitality. My stay says one night when in reality I stayed for 30 days. From the second I checked in I knew I was happy comfortable and most importantly safe. The staff work hard and keep the place immaculate. Rooms cleaned daily. Any questions I had I was helped with care and passion. Steve and Lily helped me book excursions. The weather was unpredictable and my safety was paramount, everyday they checked in on me. My breakfast was freshly prepared daily and served with a smile. Nothing was too much for anyone. The pool was perfect, cleaned daily and no time limit. The wildlife, plants and animals were all cared for. I stayed for 2 weeks worked up a bill cleared my bill and stayed another two weeks. It’s clear that Steve and lily want their guests to have an amazing time and nothing is ever too much. I can’t wait to return and awake in the jungle, the sound of Thailand and coming for coffee yogurt and mango again soon! Left Asia feeling as if I’ve gained more than memories but true friends as well. Nothing, there wasn’t anything to not like.

Steve and Lily are absolutely incredible hosts that absolutely go above and beyond in EVERYTHING they do. The accommodation is absolutely first class, it’s a little slice of heaven nestled in koh Chang. I would highly recommend to EVERYONE!!!! Everything is 10 star!!!! There is zero not to like!!!!

It was nice sitting on balcony, chilling eating/drinking etc. It's on a really quiet part of the island. The website photos probably need updated, didn't reflect the property factually, iit didn't have the boutique element, in my opinion. The room didn't have a TV, and little touches were missing like the cushions on bed and flower on bed side table as photos on the website showed. . Overpriced at 1,995 baht per night.... if I had been a walk-in customer, I definitely would not have purchased.

The nice owner Steve and Lilly organized everything for me and gave good tips to explore the island. 600 m away there is the best restaurant and coffee shop on this island. The swimming pool in the centre of the 7 bungalows resort and the beautiful garden were the main attraction. With a scooter you are after a wonderful drive on the touristic side of koh chang. You need mobility. nothing

The hosts were very kind and helpful The location was great for visiting the main points of interest on the east side of the island. Breakfast was very simple but good. Proximity to the road made it too loud for us. Not really very private. I imagined a much larger property with more room to find a tranquil space. It wasn't like that at all. Our room could certainly use and update. It was very plain. Also, the refrigerator made noise all night. We had to unplug it. A comfortable lounge chair on the terrace would also have been appreciated.
• Nicola (4/5): Err on the side of caution as a solo female traveller, and organize transport and meals. - All in all, not as advertised so ensure to plan carefully if you want to stay here. I'm genuinely surprised the reviews are so good, although it might be because the owner threatened not to give my refund back if I wrote a bad review. I booked this place on the basis of all the excellent reviews, the beautiful pictures, for the quiet nature that is promises on the non-tourist side of the island, and that there were really minimal options for my travel dates. The property and gardens are well kept, the room is sufficient and clean, and the pool is lovely. I was able to rent a scooter from the owner as I wasn't "too heavy" like other Dutchies. Be weary staying here if you do not have transport, and are travelling alone. Notably, my experience with the owner, Steve, ended up like one out of a horror movie. I've since read a few reviews which comment on his defensive and intimidating nature.. His wife, Lily, is really kind and does her best to keep the peace. I booked to stay 5 nights, and shortly upon arrival felt uneasy and made a plan to find alternative accommodation. My booking was unfortunately non-refundable, and I politely asked if there was any chance of recouping the funds should I leave. Although he was visibly irritated, advised only if the room was re-booked. Thankfully it was, and he reimbursed for the last 3 nights. However, Steve threatened he would only give me the refund on condition that I not write a bad review, which was a scary experience as a solo female traveler. I do wonder how many other guests that this has happened to. I requested he leave me in peace once he had refunded me the cash, and was very grateful to leave! Upon check in, we had a brief disagreement as Steve insisted I pay 1,000 baht security deposit although their policy states 500 baht. He kept asking "if I needed the money" which felt very demeaning when I simply tried to clarify why he needed double for the deposit. He also made numerous inappropriate comments about Thai people, which I found very disrespectful as a foreigner himself. I was fortunate enough to rent their scooter, which seems to be quite an issue if you don't organize prior to arrival. However, upon checkout Steve charged me 250 baht/day rental instead of our agreed upon 200 baht as I didn't stay the full length of time. The property is in a very remote area, and not a wise choice without transport. They only serve breakfast and offer instant noodles and crisps in the room, should you get stuck without making an advance plan for dinner. The closest restaurant is a 10 minute walk and closes by 6/7pm latest.

Every detail was carefully maintained, making it one of the cleanest and most comfortable places I have ever stayed during my travels around SEA. You can tell that Lily and Steve put so much love and effort into creating a peaceful and relaxing retreat. And the atmosphere—just magical. Whether I was lounging in the serene surroundings, enjoying the beauty of nature, or simply soaking in the calmness of the place, every moment felt like a dream. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The ratings for this place are absolutely deserved. In my opinion, the quality of the stay, the exceptional cleanliness, and the outstanding hospitality easily match the standards of a 4-star hotel. Every aspect of the experience was flawless, and it’s clear why so many guests have left glowing reviews. If you’re looking for a peaceful, immaculate, and truly special place to stay in Koh Chang, look no further. Thank you, Lily and Steve, for making my stay unforgettable—I will be back for sure!

• Lilly (6/5): While the resort itself is clean, calm, and well-maintained, and Lily’s warmth creates a welcoming atmosphere, my experi - The accommodation was clean, calm, and well-maintained. Lily’s consistently warm and kind hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere. The staff overall were supportive and polite, and Steve was helpful with transportation and gave helpful information and tips outside of the incidence. Steve displayed disrespectful and tense behavior during a disagreement about motorbike rental. During the conversation, he made an unnecessary and dismissive comment about larger bikes being “too heavy for a woman.” He became visibly annoyed and walked away when I tried to clarify details multiple times to make sure I understood correctly. He claimed that Lily couldn’t speak good English (not true!). When I tried to maintain physical distance as the conversation grew tense, he repeatedly stepped closer and told me to stop walking back, which felt intimidating. Additionally, repeated questioning about our plans and movements, combined with visible cameras, created a feeling of being monitored (not actually a feeling of privacy). The dependency on the hosts for transportation due to the rural location added to the feeling of lacking independence.
• Béla (9/5): Beautiful accommodation in the calm part of the island for a good price. - 5 or 6 comfortable bungalows around a pool in a small, but very beautiful garden. The rooms are simple, but large and have everything you need including a quiet AC and fridge. Owners are helpful and nice. I was happy to stay there. Breakfast is pretty simple for thai standards, which is not very good if you stay for more than 2 nights. But the biggest problem of this accommodation is its position right next to the road. It is not very busy, but even a car from time to time can be bothering. You don't really feel like in the middle of nowhere.

• Nikita (6/5): Good for staying couple of nights (no more), if you are ready to discover island all day long - Accommodation is cute, villas are comfortable and spacious. There is transfer from the ferry. Unfortunately lots of things were upset. 1. Tasteless breakfasts 2. Pool with tones of insects 3. Confusing experience with renting motorbike: “take it for free to go there, why you take it for so long? Pay for gasoline, you don’t tell me that you want a bike, you take a bike without any warnings (but we warned), you must come back, etc” It’s better not to use any services in the hotel because they aren’t excellent. 4. 3 cats are living there, one of them is too loud in the evening 5. To reach the beach - 30 minutes by bike 6. We feel some kind of tension between both hosts and Stuff, it’s the last thing you’d like to feel on your vacation.

• Solveig (7/5): Good - The property is in calm environment and the nature around is beautiful. This was not the right property for my family but the staff tried their best to make our stay comfortable. There rules at the property were to strict and the place was not kid friendly in our opinion.
• Dittsche (10/5): We will be back one day, thank you guys! - Steve and Lily are really nice hosts! The bungalows are really clean and big with a good spot to sit outdoor next to the pool. We booked five nights and stayed for eight in the end. It is a perfect place to have a quiet time. With a motorbike you can do a lot of nice things and visit amazing cafes and restaurants. Our daughter (9 months) enjoyed the time as well because everyone was so kind to her and helpful all the time.

The pretty and well-kept swimming pool is surrounded by a relaxing garden with a great sea view. Hosts Steve and Lily are lovely people that do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They are happy to share their knowledge and inside information about the island and help you with scooters, taxis, ferries, etc. Also plus (for us): Located at at the east side of Koh Chang, which is more quiet and 'genuine' and way less touristy than the west side. We honestly cannot think of a negative aspect of our stay at Privacy Resort. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. It made the places we stayed afterwards look a bit bleak in comparison.

Very very clean, good breakfast and the pool is immaculate. Great garden and the calm resort is situated at the calmer and less crowded side of the island. Really nothing to moan about.

You simply feel good, sitting in the evening on the veranda of you bungalow. - you can enjoy fanstastic swimming pool anytime you want - extremely polite hosts - very good breakfasts - really small and insignificant things: our room had a night stand only on one side of the bed; there were no chairs in the room (only outside)
• Quynh (9/5): Superb - Lily and Steve were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The breakfast pancakes were delicious, and Steve even helped us with renting a car from Bangkok airport to Koh Chang at a more affordable price and with added comfort compared to taking a flight. The location of the property offers a secluded and private setting, but it also puts you in close proximity to Long Beach, which in my opinion, is the best beach on the island with crystal clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere. The only thing is that the location is on the other side of the island, so the services may be limited, but the trade-off is worth it if you really need a quiet place to relax. • Qingna (9/5): Superb - Steve and Lily are very welcoming, informative Resort owners. Steve knows all the spots to go and how to go there. They have reasonable prices for renting the motorbikes as well. The Privacy Resort is on the far side of the island and it is best to be picked up by the car that Steve can order for you when you first arrive. We reccommend them to other travelers.

Nice beakfast (and nice chats with the managers) Lack of remote for the AC (so you can only adjust the basics). Card payment with a - reasonable - fee (which is better than no-cards) [so this is not a real minus actually) Best beaches are not very close

Avoid this place at all costs.

Trotzdem haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Steve and Lily are excellent hosts...Breakfast is good and mini bar is stocked well and excellent prices...the pool looked very inviting...I stayed for 5 nights...was so busy exploring the island on my bike that I rented from Steve...I didn’t get to go in the pool. Steve has exceptional knowledge of what to do on the island and is a very genuine and great man. Steve and Lily are great people...I really enjoyed my time at Privacy Resort and will come back. • Jamesy (10/5): Couldn't ask for more! - Steve and Lily were absolutely amazing hosts. They provided us with anything that we could want or need during our stay with them in Koh Chang. The first night that we arrived to Privacy Resort, it was getting late in the night, and we were welcomed by Steve and Lily with tiny delicious bananas. YUM! They helped us get settled in AND even offered to take us to the nearest place to get food (they were getting dinner anyway and we were starving. They are really nice people. They educated us on the neat things to do in the area (for tourists, as well as what/where the locals go). Lily taught my fiance and I how to say thank you and hello in Thai - which helped us out tremendously during our 2 week stay in Thailand! They provided a great breakfast for us everyday - I highly recommend the fruit and rice soup! Delicious!! With this being our first time in Koh Chang (first time in Thailand), Steve and Lily were available to answer any and all of our questions and were so incredibly helpful during our entire stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good vibes and great service! **Also.. make sure to get the banana chips from the nearby coffee shop - best thing ever for 20 baht. Thank you so much Steve and Lily for everything! We had an amazing time and would definitely come back to your resort if we go to Koh Chang!
• Parry (10/5): Wonderful stay - Stayed for 2 nights, it was our first time on the island. The owners Steve and Lilly were very helpful, giving us advice on good restaurants and beautiful beaches to see. We stayed in the deluxe double room. It was very clean with a large fridge, tv, awesome wifi and good a/c. The bed was a bit hard but all the beds so far on our trip to Thailand have been hard. It had a nice outdoor sitting area perfect for having coffee in the morning. The pool was well maintained and very refreshing with chairs around for lounging. Breakfast was very good, with choices of scrambled eggs or pancake with fresh fruit. It is located on the quiet side of the island so you will need to rent a motorcycle to get around as there is not much very close by.Steve even has some there to rent. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others. Thanks Steve & Lilly.

• Dennis (10/5): Get closer to the real Thailand - We had a great time at the Privacy Resort on the peaceful and natural east side of Koh Chang. Steve and Lily were amazing hosts of this small well built and maintained resort. We met the local people who are working to establish small businesses, all of whom seem determined to raise ecological standards in their life. The lifestyle is quite a contrast to the more established areas of the island like White Sands.

They helped out with booking trips, taxis etc. One evening we all went together with other guests in the resort for dinner and was a great night. The breakfasts are also great. The rooms were clean. Absolutely no insects or bugs during my stay of 7 nights. Scooters available for rent at the resort which is always handy. Cant find any issues. Just note this is on the quieter side of the island so more suited to people who want a bit of peace and quiet.
• Andrew Scott (10/5): Clean, quiet, and private - Privacy and cleanliness is the best way to describe it. On the eastern side of the island so restaurants and shops are pretty scarce. Be ready to rent a scooter or higher a taxi if you want to go anywhere. However, there is a coffee shop within walking distance and they grow there own coffee; great pork steaks, beer, and ice cream too. The owners Steve and Lily are very welcoming as well.
