• Sylvain (7/5): Decent hotel that could use some cleaning and maintenance... - Although it did smell cold tobacco, room was clean and seemed to have been renovated recently. The three different onsen options and the possibility to privately book one were really nice! Most staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel itself could use some cleaning and maintenance. A fresh coat of paint in some places. Cleaning up some dead leaves here and there. Making the private onsen actually look nice with some lighting, etc... Overall, it just feels that the management team doesn't really care.
• Simon (8/5): - This is a great place to stay while visiting Shuzenji. It's only a short walk from the centre of town and there are some good walking paths nearby. The buffet-style breakfast is excellent value and the two happy hours in the afternoon/evening are good too. The room was spacious by Japanese standards.

It is huge for 2 persons. - I like how they provide different sizes of Yukata (bathrobe) for us to choose. - They serve freeflow ramen & alcohol during specific hours - Both private onsen (cave & outdoor) are huge that can easily fit 1 family We really love the hotel and would definately stay here again if we have the chance to go Shuzenji again. Highly recommended. - It is abit far from the bus station. I think about 13 mins walk with a slope leading from main road to the hotel. - Howeverm the facilities and overall value provided more than compensate for this small drawback.

• Kimiko (4/5): - Location is bad and there are NO pickups from Shuzenji station. However the web site still said that pick up service available. So, we took taxi on both way. Cost is 4000 yen extra. Not good.
• Nagayo (5/5): 満足度は普通な感じでした。が、次も利用するかといったら…考えてしまいます。 - ハッピーアワーやアイスのサービスなど楽しい企画があって楽しかったです。 スタッフの親切でよかったです。 部屋から見える外の中庭？が汚かった。 フロント、部屋以外は節電なのは分かるが暗すぎる。 大浴場へ行く廊下は薄気味悪ささえ感じた。 大浴場の湯の温度が高すぎて熱く入ることが出来なかった。子どもなどは尚更なのではないかと思う。 温泉に来たのになんだかな…という感じでした。

• Steven from Belgium (8/5): - The traditional rooms with large windows and attached bathroom are amazingly spacious.The happy hour bonus (light food and drinks) is a welcome bonus. Although the room was XL, there were no sitting facilities, not even Japanese low chairs; you could only sit on the floor (tatamis). Why 2 bulky western beds in a traditional room? Another inconvenience is having to remove your shoes, under supervision, right at the entrance. The location is also not ideal for pedestrians, the hotel being located at the top of a steep incline.

• Yg (8/5): Very Good Onsen - 1) Tatami and twin beds combination great for family stay. Comfortable and spacious. 2) Outdoor Onsen is great and it can be reserved on a first come first serve basis for private use. In addition, another Cave Onsen can be used privately too on a first come first serve basis. 3) Breakfast spread was good. 4) It provides free supper of ramen and beer. 1) Location is a quite walk to the main attractions and street of Shuzenji town. furthermore, it is quite dark at night as street lights are quite sparse. If you have a car, then no issue.

• リリアン (5/5): The value was good, but I do not recommend the risk for sensitive groups. - The facility itself was nice and clean, and the staff were nice. The reservable (at check-in) private onsen were great. Only downside was our room. Although it was a non-smoking room, it had a stench of tobacco stuck inside the whole room. I'm not sure if it was dusty or had mold that went unnoticed (except for the bathroom), but I particularly had an allergic reaction. Opening the windows for airflow and spraying air freshener made little to no difference.

• Min (10/5): Exceptional - The room is big and very clean, the quilt is new, smells good and soft. There is a relaxing room, which contains massage chairs, hanging chairs and foot massage machines. The milk in the vending machine is so fresh and sweet that I drink it many times. Thanks to the wonderful staff, I have a great journey here.

The hallways and elevator smelled really bad all the time. The hotel was old and could really use some updates. They had a buffet for dinner, but they didn't tell us anything about it. There were stains in the toilet.
• Grace (7/5): Nice onsen retreat in Shuzenji - Spacious room and nice onsen hot springs with both private and public onsens available. Location is fairly accessible and free parking is provided. Facilities outside the main building are slightly old with visible rust and cob webs, noticeable stains on bedsheets and tatami.

• Suharli (9/5): Such a nice hotel with a modern feel but very Japanese style and excellent service. - Breakfast was served in the large restaurant, and the quality was superb with the staff being very attentive and nice. Loved the Japanese selection! Room was nice and large, and very clean. Two choices of private onsen! We managed to enjoy both of them. In case you're hungry from all the onsen, they also provide ramen, drinks and beer for supper for free! nothing really, such a nice experience

• Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very large and had a lot of amenities including several onsen, ping pong tables, and multiple dining spaces. We were greeted very warmly when we arrived and given a tour. Our room itself was very large and nice with a Japanese style area and western style beds. The only negative we noted was it seemed to be a big property without quite enough staff since it was offseason to keep everything perfect. Would recommend highly though and would go back!

• Daise (8/5): I wish to go back. - Shuzenji is an amazing place with termal water and the sound of running rivers everywhere. The hotel gave us a feeling of experiencing traditional Japan. The location was good and also the breakfast.
• Itchie0817 (8/5): onsen is good! - travelled with my family and we enjoyed our time together in the onsen.there is a private onsen aside from girl's onsen and for boy's onsen.we made a reservation time for us to enter as a family in that onsen.there is also a kids room so children can play and watch videos.there is also a relaxation room where you can play table tennis.i like their free chair massage.there is karaoke room but we didn't have the time to enter. well,the hotel is clean...
• wonderbb (4/5): tradisional and old hotel - Good food, friendly staff ...but the bed is not comfortable, the bathroom is to small...the worst is there was a cockroach in my room...if you are staying at room 303 ...make sure u double check before using the tatami... i'm not trying to scare u or something ...but i got a picture of the cockroach crawling at the ceiling for a prove
