• Ricardo (8/5): Vacaciones agradables - La alberca es muy grande, con agua tibia y con la suficiente profundidad. El clima en la habitación funcionó muy bien (aunque no llega bien al baño), en ocasiones por la madrugada hasta se percibió frío (y no hay cobertores). El elevador muy limpio y espacioso. La habitación no tiene muchos lugares para colgar ropa húmeda, tienen una regla de no colgarla en el balcón (lo que me parece excelente), pero dentro de la habitación no hay nada para colgar. El restaurant solo ofrece desayuno y en la noche se ofrece algo rápido o bebidas para estar en la alberca. Pero más es que el desayuno es tipo bufet, entonces si alguien solo quiere un café y un pan, tiene que cubrir todo el costo o pagarlos de forma unitaria y el costo es casi el mismo. Creo podría mejorar este aspecto.

Que en la alberca permitan poner bocinas a todo volumen, no a todos les gustan las canciones bélicas y para narcos. Hay que corregir eso , gracias.
• Rosana (2/5): Very Disappointing - Felix and the maintenance guy were very friendly. First, my request for a specific view was not taken into account. Then, the TV was not working. Some guests were having a pool party with very loud music, which caused significant disturbance. Additionally, there was no hot water, and the buffet was disappointing. As a result, I decided to change hotels, and I am still waiting for my refund.

• Shelly (7/5): Convenient location with good breakfast. - Pool was nice but it was closed for almost 2 days with no explanation. Breakfast was good - lots of selection. Staff used a translation app which worked well for non-Spanish speaking guests. Deck sliding door locks automatically - my husband was locked outside in direct sunlight for 90 minutes until I got back to the room to let him in. This could have been very dangerous. Pool was closed for almost 2 days. Staff were on walkie-talkies, blasting thru the hallways, even as early as 4:45am on a Saturday. Bathroom window (the only vent) opens to the hallway so you can hear the elevator announce each stop, and hear noise in the hallway. Ask for a bathroom window that opens outside. Roof was painted red during our stay and the red splattered on our deck. Luckily we didn't have stuff out there. Pickleball courts are behind the hotel - we didn't hear as we had the air conditioning running, but I know other guests had complaints.

The confusion on my request for a fridge in my room which was not there and was approved through test on here. As well as the attitude of the one front desk lady who works afternoons. Also found the Breakfast buffet to be was smaller this year.

So many good restaurants in the immediate area as well as shopping. The pool has a nice mix of sun and shade all day.

• Alexis (4/5): - There was many things that stood out to me about this property, I only stayed one night because I had a flight the next day. When checking in , we had suitcases and luggage where we asked if somebody could bring them up for us, they said that the people that bring the luggage were on breakfast and couldn't help us. Which I understand people are on their breaks, but they didn't even offer to help bring up our things at a later time . Once we got upstairs I tried turning on the tv and none of the channels were working , it said their was no cable and no signal and I tried throughout my stay to switch the channels and it never worked. After I came back from the beach my family and I wanted to take a shower , I begin showering and when I open the curtain to step out, the whole bathroom was covered in water ! I told my mom to call the front desk to which they replied "its the shower isn't it? " and they brought up some towels. If you know a room is not suitable for guests and needs maintenance why would you allow guests to stay here? Well to make matters worse, that night I had to do check-in for an international flight(I was flying back to the US) and the wifi was not working ! Completely frustrating, that is something that needs to be fixed! You can't have a hotel with no wifi especially in a place where people are flying in-and-out. I don't like to typically write reviews and especially if this hotel is a small business , I'm not sure , but please fix these things.

• Olimpa (6/5): - Nunca me había tocado un hotel que fuera tan estricto con sus reglas, el personal de mostrador te las lee y te remarca con muy poco tacto, te las tienen pegadas el la habitación , por ejemplo que teníamos que cuidar y fijarnos que tuviéramos 5 toallas porque si nos faltaba una no las iban cobrar. ( las toallas todas percudidas) Al hacer el check out también nos detuvieron hasta que fueran inspeccionar la habitación.

• Claudia (6/5): - Casa Danna is an affordable hotel. It has many pros like walk ability to two of the bay beaches and the main grocery in town. Cons are no mini fridge or ice machine to keep drinks cool. For some reason our room had little to no hot water, no issue if you shower after a stroll or in the afternoon when is Hot! Their pool is ok. No view but we knew that. Room decent size. TV options not the best but not a biggie since we were there just to sleep. Bathroom needs renovation in my opinion. Things are starting to look moldy. Especially the shower curtain. I’d like to see more options in their restaurant menu. Recommend their waffles, they are delicious. All in all a good hotel.

• JoeJets (10/5): Clean, well located, nice pool and good price. Plus balconies. - This hotel is well located for walking around the area, 5 minutes from Chahue beach, 3 minutes to coffee across the street, 12 minutes to Santa Cruz beach and about 15 minutes to Crucesita. Staff is friendly and rates are decent. It’s also very clean, amazingly clean. Rooms are big with small balconies. Unfortunately there is only one chair in the room and no patio furniture on the balcony, so not easy for two people to sit on the balcony at once. Two items I would like to see them improve; closet space is limited, so it’s difficult to unpack for a longer stay, and there is no coffee maker in the room. Small fridges are available on request. Our air conditioner worked very nicely. The pool is decent for both kids and adults and it gets decent shade which is nice in the heat. I would certainly stay again.
• Joseph (10/5): - Very clean and quiet hotel at a decent price. Staff was friendly and my room was large and comfortable. Most rooms have a patio and there is a decent pool too. Above all, this is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at anywhere. The location is good if you are OK walking a bit. It’s not in the heart of the tourist area, but it’s a 5 minute walk to Chahue beach, 12 minutes to Santa Cruz beach and 15 minute walk to Crucecita. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to the large department store (across a street) with some restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I asked for a small fridge for our room and got one. I would certainly stay here again. A few items I wish they would improve: there is no coffee machine in the room, there is only one chair in the room, so not great for two people on the patio and closet space is limited. Overall, I plan to return and enjoyed staying there.

It's not fancy but it's safe, clean and quiet. The pool area is great. The staff are always friendly. Bahía Chahué is within walking distance. What more does a person need?

• Mara (8/5): - It is always a pleasure to stay at Casa Danna. Property is very clean and well maintained and easy walking distance everywhere. I am glad to see there was a fridge in the hotel room now. Be aware that on Fri/Sat/Sun very big groups come to the hotel to stay. During the week, it is much quieter. All bath towels need to be replaced. So buy one at Chedraui for 100pesos and you are set.

With little kids, I have found that to be a must. The room was cleaned everyday. We were a little far from the zocalo but were close to a public beach that we didn’t get a chance to check out but was nice to know it was there.

• tripchick2010 (6/5): A basic budget hotel - The Hotel Casa Danna is a basic budget hotel. It's clean and the staff are friendly. It's close to the beach, but not on it. It's located on the side of a busy road, with the breakfast restaurant looking out over the traffic. The breakfast served is just average. There is a pool but, depending on your room, you may have to walk through the parking lot to get to it. Depending on what you want, this hotel may meet your needs, but it's not luxurious in any way.
• Christy (10/5): - This is a spotless hotel. They scrub and clean ALL day!!! I have never seen a more cleaner hotel!!! The staff was very friendly and very helpful! The only thing I could suggest is a coffee pot in the rooms!! The breakfast is wounderful with LOTS of variety!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Independent Seaside Hotel - Nice place, nice stay for a budget hotel. Good location for nearby restaurants, besides the onsite one. Easy check-in. I arrived early before my room was ready (as I expected) and they allowed me to store my bags while I walked around. Good wifi, hot water, decent water pressure. My room was clean and in good order for an independent hotel. There are steps for the higher floors but I enjoyed the exercise. There is a water dispenser off of the lobby to refill your own bottles. My room had a window but the view was of another wall. I stayed in the front portion of the hotel, there is another building closer to the ocean but I can’t comment on it’s view, layout or comfort. I would stay again without hesitation.

• traveller007 (10/5): Fabulous stay at Casa Danna - I absolutely loved this property. Location was fantastic, 5 minute walk to the beach for some amazing sunrises, some rooms you can actually catch the sunrise from your balcony. It was also close to amazing restaurants, Super Che grocery store, 15-20 minute walk to either Santa Cruz or the downtown square. This hotel is very well run, management and staff are fantastic with looking after you and your needs, and most importantly the maintenance and upkeep seems to be impeccable, from room cleaning and the condition of the building, pool area, etc .. great job by everyone. This was my third trip to Huatulco and from exploring in the past it is easy to see that some accommodation providers are using pictures that are very old and in reality everything needs updating, happy to say this place was spot on, even better in person. Pool area doesn't have a ton of loungers but during the day was rarely busy and always found a place to relax by the pool, some people have mentioned they had trouble finding shade, that is really not the case, there is basically shade if you want it all day, it just moves around with the sun, really a non issue I think. As other reviews have mentioned there is no elevator, for me not an issue, I actually got a room on the 4th floor and did the stairs daily, good way to work off the Margaritas and gives you a nice view if looking over the pool, that said of course it you can not do stairs it might be an issue if the hotel is full and there are no other rooms available. There is a nightclub basically next door but only operates on Friday/Saturday from what I could tell, even then the building is pretty well soundproofed and you could hardly hear if from the room I had. They have water jugs by the main lobby and in the pool area building as well so you can stay hydrated which was handy, no Ice Machine, but those are rare for the area from what I have seen. There is no doubt in my mind I will be staying here again next time I visit the area.

• Cdn999 (2/5): Robbed at hotel - We are seasoned travelers to the Huatulco area of Mexico and we stay for the winter season. This year we planned a 2 month stay at casa danna which we had to cut short because we had our money was stolen from our room. We asked hotel management for assistance in identifying whom had been in our room but they refused. The manager would not let us view the CCTV surveillance footage and there was no visible sign of forced entry to the room but our locked luggage had been slashed open in the room. We also made a report to the local police authority. We received no further assistance. It appears Huatulco has become Acapulco south.
• Rugs1961 (10/5): Hotel Casa Danna - I stayed for 2 weeks at Hotel Casa Danna and felt it was a great place to stay. My room was large and clean, had a comfortable King size bed and plenty of places to store my stuff. The room had a partial ocean view as well as a small balcony that overlooked the pool. The house keeping staff were great and kept my room spotless, and made a real effort to have my room done when I returned from my morning activities at around 1 pm. the reception staff treated me very well . always greeted me and helped me with my Spanish. There is a really nice breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant which is a good value, and delicious. the hotels location is great, It's a short walk to Santa Cruz, the marina, the beach and the main town. on the weekend the local tourists come and stay here, but I never found the hotel noisy and everyone is very considerate. This is a locally owned Hotel, and I liked staying there because it helps support the local economy. It's not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable, the AC works great and the bathroom was clean and nicely finished. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone, and I would definitely stay there again. It's a great bargain.
• jrf25 (8/5): Good budget hotel with a great location - We chose this hotel for the location and the pool, though we enjoyed the beach so much we never used the pool! The location was definitely exactly where we wanted to be. Our deluxe room was nice and large and it was great to have a small fridge. We didn't mind being on the 4th floor with no elevator - the stairs weren't bad. Room was clean and the shower had about the best water pressure I've ever experienced in Mexico. There wasn't much (if any) hot water the first night we were there, but it was better the next day. It would be a great addition to have an electric kettle to the room for coffee (just a suggestion). We're early risers and the breakfast downstairs didn't start until 8 a.m., so both mornings we went to a cafe instead (Cafe Icacos - I highly recommend it for both the coffee and great food).
• 215robc (10/5): We Loved Staying Here - We Will Be Back Again - We stayed at this lovely boutique hotel for two weeks. This is not a place for those wanting an all-inclusive experience. This is a hotel that allows you to experience all that Huatulco has to offer, and do so affordably. Ricardo and his staff are amazing. Everybody is smiling and willing to help if you need it. We had a payment problem between the hotel and the booking company at the time of our arrival. By the time we got up in the morning, everything had been cleared up. Amazing service by the hotel to communicate with the booking company to resolve the problem. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Ours was a bit smaller than you might get elsewhere but all we needed was a clean, comfortable, safe place to sleep and clean up. The pool area is great as it has two water falls that act as a sound buffer of the traffic on Blvd. Benito Juárez. The shower water temperatures can be a bit finicky, but easy to figure out. The water pressure is unbelievable. It blasts the beach sand right off of you! The small affordable breakfast buffet at the attached restaurant, is a delicious way to start your day. Gustavo is always there to great you with his charming smile and fantastic service. The restaurant is open daily but closed on Wednesdays. They only serve breakfast. The only issue I had was the sound transfer within the building. I was awakened a few times in the early morning by the sounds of loud doors closing and the staff preparing for the day. This was not intentional by the staff. This is simply because of the open air design of the building, and the materials used to build the hotel. Overall a wonderful stay, and we will be back again.
• GlenM65 (6/5): Great Price Great Location - First trip to Huatulco and stayed there for 5 nights. . The rooms were very clean and comfortable .. The location is close to the beach and several great places to eat near by. The only down side was that our room was on the 4th floor and they have no elevator ! They have plans to add one and when that do this will go to a 4 star hotel but for the price you can not go wrong.
• NajitaM (10/5): Beautiful place with a beautiful pool - We stayed at casa Danna for a one night traffic stay but it was wonderful. The price was very low considering the quality of the room /bed and the beautiful warm clean pool. I stayed with my children and they couldn´t enjoy more the place. If you are travelling Huatulco on a budget, you nust stay here!!!
• Verified traveler (6/5): Very noisy radio comm and dirty swimming pool - The room was spacious, nice and clean, however you have no place to hang your clothes. The house keeping personnel use radio transmitters to communicate with reception and is so loud you can hear it from one room to another. The pool water was hot and dirty, while I was swimming with my daughters we founded lots and lots of long hair floating around. Disgusting.
• MollyWaldo (10/5): Terrific Stay! - Having been to Huatulco many times we decided to stay at a smaller local hotel within walking distance to towns. We stayed here from January 30 to February 13 and we couldn't have been more satisfied. All staff from Manager, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Grounds Keeper and Restaurant waiters well welcoming and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. We had no issues what so ever from cleanliness to communication. Breakfast at the hotel was second to none and from eating at numerous other restuaurants through out the years Casa Danna was one of the best authentic Mexican breakfast we have enjoyed, with prices very reasonable. We would highly recommend both the Hotel and Restaurant and we are already planning our return trip.
