A very welcome place to stay on the R62 - The welcome we received from the staff was excellent a nice cold glass of orange juice….it was a very hot day. Check-in was painless and the layout of the hotel was explained to us with ease by the staff. The food in the restaurant in the evening was excellent as was the attention to detail. The brandy and chocolate tasting just a fitting ending to the evening. The breakfast buffet was a little sparse. Having said that there was a large group in who had obviously had their fill. The fruit was replenished when I mentioned it to a staff member. Maybe we should have asked the previous evening what time the group were having breakfast…next time 😂😂

- Mohammed Sadek (8/5): Cango caves rest camp - The rooms were comfortable & neat. The restaurant was a bonus with a relaxed atmosphere. The views are stunning and staff were great too! Would have appreciated covered parking or rather car ports. Mosquito and bugs net would help alot especially in the evenings on windows and doors. A tarred road would be something really good to avoid motor vehicles gathering dust.

Die Hochzeitssuite ist etwas dunkel und hat nur ein kleines Fenster zum Weg. Konnten aber in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. Landschaftlich sehr toll gelegen zwischen Olivenbäumen. Etwas wenig liegen am Pool.

The room (luxury) was clean and beautifully decorated with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There is a restaurant onsite with delicious meals and good variety. Good options for breakfast. Do try the picnic basket, this was a wonderful end to our holiday. Staff always available to assist with ideas and all were friendly. There is enough in the area if you want a day away from the pools and views. N/a

- Karlheinz (10/5): The Place to Stay in Oudtshoorn - It's just a great place to stay, the location, the friendliness of the staff, the breakfast are all more than excellent as is the tranquility of the whole place. It was our second stay and we sure will come back!

We forgot a digital watch in a drawer and staff helped us to get it back which was very nice and kind! Bed linens were clearly fresh but one had a big stain on it. The floor in the room felt somewhat sticky and there was hair in the shower.

Our first dinner there was not so good (waygu steak and ostrage). Steak was not soft, had Better other straks in SA. Better value for money at Nostalgie in town. Shower seemed to.have mould, it has been a wet year so up keep is not that easy.

- Heather (8/5): Hotel or holiday camp? - The first room we were given was not up to the standard we were expecting. We asked to change but we’re told the hotel was fully booked. They did however move us for our second night and the room was much better. Breakfast here is good with a huge amount of choice. There are two pools at the hotel both of which have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. I felt the hotel was not quire sure what it wants to be in that it caters for too wider style of clientele. Some of the rooms are nice, but others felt like a budget hotel - very tired and in need of updating. When we stayed there were lots of families staying which during the day is fine, but not so relaxing in the evening when couples want a quiet meal. The generator is in the middle of the accommodation blocks so is very noisy.
