- Joshua Karyl (10/5): - The property is very charming and cozy - I very much appreciated the tranquility offered by the hotel. My room was comfortable and clean, and I was able to sleep soundly.
The kitchen also offered an excellent dinner, and the staff were very friendly. There's also a grocery store steps away for any snacking needs.
I recommend this hotel when you're in Colunga, and I would definitely book in the future!
- James (10/5): Peregrinos are welcome here - What an amazing stay. The place is a concerted house and they went to great lengths to maintain its authenticity. The people were so friendly, suffered through my broken Spanish with grace, and switched to English when I was obviously in over my head. I was fortunate enough to have dinner there and it was delightful. I hope I get to return to this little town and if I do I will be staying here. If you are on the Camino this is your place.
- HabsBob (10/5): A very nice experience - This hotel was booked for us by our Camino tour company. Over our so far, three week trip, this is the nicest hotel. A warm and interesting atmosphere, friendly staff, and unique, comfortable rooms.
The restaurant serves small plates of food, that taste exquisite and are reasonably priced. The terrace dining area is very comfortable, as is the wonderfully decorated dining room.
The house, built in the early 1800s has been restored with care and very enjoyable place to stay. Highly recommended.
- 777mikell (10/5): A wonderful weekend combining mountains and see, with this beautiful small hotel as base camp - Small, quiete and charm. We had a very pleasant stay during this weekend, Joseba and the rest take care of all our needs. We will come back for sure
- J5903BVcatherinem (10/5): A very special place that we will remember. We would recommend to Camino walkers or holiday makers. A great experience. - A very special place! We booked this hotel to stay overnight when we walked the Camino. We had a hard day. It was wet and there were few breaks along the way. We came to this hotel and we greeted by a lovely man at reception. He was so warm and friendly our moods at once lifted. The decor was so quaint and there were lots of lovely touches. Our room was charming and the bathroom was nice and big with lots of natural light. The shower was excellent. Nice and hot with great pressure. Breakfast the following morning was a feast.
- davidbX3277NG (10/5): A Must Stop on the Camino - What a hidden gem. Don’t be put off by the front of the building on the main road. The entrance is around the back, through their lovely little garden/seating area.
I stayed here one night whilst on the Camino and loved it. The staff were very friendly and totally helpful. The room was lovely - Room 21. Faced the fields at the rear of the building. It has a little bar and sitting in the garden with a cold beer after a day’s walking was perfect.
And I don’t know what to say about the breakfast. It just kept coming. It could have fed four of us. Cereal, breads, cakes. Fresh omelette. And pancake/crepe which I couldn’t manage. I would highly recommend this place.
- mpnouvet (10/5): A camino stop for us, but a wonderful memorable hotel for all. - Though we arrived early and scruffy, reception wast warm and our room offered to us immediately. Old fashioned, very well and artfully kept accomodations. Like the rest of the establishment, the room was well furnished and the bathroom was modern. Beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, one wall made of rocks. We had a balcony which was well furnished, overlooking inner garden. Great memories for us and a hotel we would highly recommend.
- arturobP8165ZG (8/5): Cozy hotel - The hotel is very cozy. The reception is attended by “Lola la maravillosa” She is great. Friendly and very diligent. The restaurant and garden is very well kept with lots of details. The only drawback was our room faced to the front street. Noisy with awful views. The back rooms face the mountains and the hotel gardens. All the hotel is very quaint.
- Barney (10/5): - A graceful property with an attentive and first class staff.
- bobe882 (10/5): Very Friendly Quaint Hotel - We stayed for one night whilst walking the Camino Norte.
This is quaint in a traditional Spanish way, for us, it has the best of the Camino experience.
The room was spacious, beautiful decorated, modernised but keeping the quaintness of the historical building.
It had beautiful gardens for relaxing, we didn't use them but gave a lovely view from our room window.
The breakfast, served in the hotel cafe was excellent in a very friendly atmosphere.
- alfonso (8/5): - el hotel es muy bonito pero para donde esta me parecio caro.El desayuno escasisimo.el personal amable. Hay hoteles no tan bonitos pero para llegar tarde y salir temprano no compensa.
- DJandR (10/5): An oasis after a days walk on the Camino - Lovely hotel, hospitable staff, lovely surroundings and gorgeous rooms. This French inspired character hotel was very inviting after a days walk on the Camino. Large welcoming bedrooms with a balcony overlooking the garden which had a resident rabbit. Bathroom extremely spacious. We had both meals served in the garden, delightful nooks her and there with tables to choose. Delicious menu. Breakfast served to your table which was nicely presented. Friendly hosts.
- FanziniB (10/5): An oasis of goodness - A fabulous place, absolutely loved my time here taking a days break from walking the Camino de Santiago. The welcome is wonderful, food is great, the apartment room was perfect. It’s the little touches here that make the difference, the attention to detail. A beautiful garden area, tastefully chosen decor and a very relaxing place.
- suttung (10/5): Quaint little hotel with congenial ambience. - A traditional family residence converted into a charming characterful hotel. Clean and reasonably sized rooms with comfortable beds. Pleasant indoor and outdoor terrace bar and restaurant service. Tasty food attractively presented. Free WiFi. Cheerfully welcoming staff team.
- derrithb2018 (10/5): Beautiful room and restaurant - Arriving after a day hiking the Camino to find a good sized double room, great shower, and a pretty terrace to sit on was a dream. The host was gracious, welcoming, and spoke English. Our pre paid Pilgrim meal was really tasty and fresh. I imagine the a la cart menu would be as delicious. I would definitely come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - As a pilgrim on the Camono de Santiago with limited spainish skills I was made to feel very welcome.
- Andrea (10/5): - Hermoso hotel, la atención brindada fue excelente
- Elena (10/5): - Precioso hotel y pueblo. Atención inmejorable. Estupendo
- Jan (10/5): Very nice indeed - Lovely, friendly staff, some English spoken. Beautiful bedroom with small, enclosed balcony. Liked the outside eating area on layered terraces. On street parking and dog friendly, perfect for our one night stay
- Enrique (10/5): Correcto - Hotel rural coqueto, bien decorado y bien atendido.
