- Nana (10/5): A peaceful getaway - A wonderful place to visit while in the Quito area if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. There is a beautiful loop hike right on the hotel property and many beautiful birds to see. The bromeliads are very unique. The host, Francisca, was also exceptionally helpful in picking us up from the airport and helping us find some food on the way back.

- Gemboco (10/5): A beautiful balance between luxury and simplicity - Inraki Lodge was a treat for all the senses! Beautiful cabins tucked away in nature, surrounded by birdsong. Every little touch has been lovingly thought out: the delicious home-made breakfast, the soft bedding and towels, the eco-friendly, fragrant soaps, the stunning trail that takes you around the dry forest, and of course the care taken of you by the staff. While I stayed at Inraki I visited both Otavalo and Quito (easy to get to on public transport), and spent time relaxing and enjoying the nature of the lovely site. Francesca, the owner, was lovely and made sure I was comfortable and well-taken care of! Only one downside - there are quite a few mosquitos here. Bring your insect repellent!

- Julia (10/5): - I found this place online when I was looking for a place halfway from the UIO airport and the Mitad del Mundo. This is a beautiful and peaceful countryside hostel with magnificent surroundings and the owners were amazing. My plane was delayed and I let them know that I was going to reach the hotel very late at night, still at that time, we were welcomed and our hostess was up and came to find us in the highway to take us to the place. Hope I get to go back to Inraki!
