The Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and very well presented. Mini toiletries in the room which was a nice touch. The hotel is situated on the marina with nice walks.

- lara (8/5): Good location - Very close to the lake. Good spot to reach west of ireland. Ample free parking. The breakfast was ok. It starts of by al a carte, then there is a small buffet section. The playpen was a bit uncomfortable for our toddler since it was very thin. In the first part of the hotel there are a few stairs.

- shaunmfitzy (4/5): Lovely food, terrible service - My partner gave a rave review of the hotel last week following Afternoon Tea so decided to visit again today for Sunday lunch - what a difference a week makes! We were greeted at the door and seated quickly. Our first server was great, took our order, brought our drinks over and was very chatty and accommodating. The food arrived and it was a lovely, big portion - so no complaints there. However, this is where the service really let down what should have been a lovely afternoon. All three of us had finished our main course and were sat with three empty plates in front of us for half an hour. Servers were walking backwards and forwards to the kitchen empty-handed yet no-one approached our table to clear it. Two tables next to ours, which had been vacated, were cleared and cleaned, yet we were still waiting - servers looked at us, with no acknowledgement or suggestion that they would be back to clear our plates. - I should not have to draw this to their attention. Eventually, after half an hour I approached the manager on duty and explained the situation. She said the hotel were short-staffed ( as I've said, there were many staff wandering in and out of the kitchen doing very little so I'm not sure what having extra staff would have accomplished). I work in hospitality, serving guests, and I would be mortified if tables were left this long without service in my place of business. Needless to say, we didn't stay to sample dessert as we might not have been out before dark. We're new to the area and were really hoping that we'd found a lovely place to come for a quick bite to eat - unfortunately, the service today has really made me think very carefully before visiting again - we will probably visit other local eateries such as The Pipers Inn or Flanagan's instead.

- Petronella (8/5): Het verblijf was prettig met als hoogte punt de wandeling naar Brian Bru's ringfort. - Hotel lag mooi met mooie tuin en uitzicht, ook vanuit het restaurant en terras. De kamers waren royaal en het personeel was erg vriendelijk. De bediening duurde vrij lang, zowel bij een kopje koffie, avondeten of ontbijt. En voor een fatsoenlijke kop koffie bij het ontbijt moest extra betaald worden.

A wonderful cleaner, Awa, kindly helped us with bags on checkout, and helped us find the exit. She was the one staff member who stood out and understood hospitality. The shower had deep mould stains in the grouting. Needed regrouting in my opinion. Staff are nonchalant - reception waved at a door and said your room is though there - we got hopelessly lost because of terrible signage and went through at least 10 or 12 inter leading doors, some I could push but some were pull and eventually found our room. Rooms are tired. Customer is a nuisance. No way is that a 4 star hotel.

- Geraldine (7/5): The location is perfect for the Killaloe / Ballina area of County Clare - The food was lovely. We had a set dinner menu which was very nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. The hotel was very clean. There is no lift in the area we were accommodated, beside the spa. I had requested a walk in shower, and the only rooms with this facility are in this area. It was difficult to bring luggage down the stairs and around corridors.

There was a gorgeous garden outside our room, along with a lovely view of the harbour. There was no access to our room via a lift. It was only a short flight of stairs to our room, but was awkward when we were carrying our luggage.

- Sumayia (2/5): Disappointing - The staff in the restaurant were very lovely. We were extremely disappointed with our stay. We booked a family room (it was 3 of us on a girls trip), which felt very outdated and, more concerningly, unclean. It is clearly in need of refurbishment. The room was also uncomfortably warm. Being on the ground floor, we had no control over the heating, which made the stay quite unpleasant. We contacted reception to request a room change, but were told the hotel was fully booked, so no alternative was offered. One of us had previously stayed in a double room and had a much more positive experience, which is why we chose this hotel in the first place. Unfortunately, our experience was very different and has completely put us off returning. While I can appreciate a hotel that isn’t very modern and leans more into an “older” style, the overall condition of the room felt neglected rather than appealing. Even basic amenities were lacking, for example the TV did not have Netflix, and there were no accessible HDMI ports (I had brought a HDMI cable), so we couldn’t even connect our own device to watch something. Overall, the room felt old, poorly maintained, and below expectations.

- Hilda Curran (7/5): Mini-Break during Easter holidays - Beautiful setting by the river Shannon and within walking distance to the towns of Kilaloe and Ballina (which are connected by pedestrian bridge). The cooked breakfast was particularly good, and the service was swift and courteous. The quality of the bar/ restaurant food was of a good standard and competitively priced. We particularly enjoyed dropping into the "Ponte Vecchio" café in Kilaloe for coffee and cake in the afternoon, or pizza and glass of wine in the evening! The hotel reception staff were not particularly friendly or professional. Each time we passed through reception they appeared too busy to acknowledge us. Upon checking in we were not given times for breakfast, or restaurant closing times. We had to enquire about these. Checking out, I was asked as to whether everything had been ok? But, once again the receptionist seemed too busy to wait to hear an answer, or indeed wish us a safe onward journey as is usually the custom in these situations. We were also unaware that the spa was closed Monday - Wednesday, and the days it was open the "thermal suite" (an extra charge of €15 per person) was completely booked out, although the hotel only appeared to be half-full. As a National Tour Guide who has stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland, I would definitely not rate this hotel as 4 star.

- S1255VYamandag (10/5): EGG-CELLENT Stay in Killaloe Hotel and Spa - We stayed as a family fhello or one night. We had a wonderful stay. We were warmly recieved and our rooms were ready on arrival. Our room was warm and we were greeted by a birthday wish for my partner, It was very thoughtful and i was very impressed. Food was delivered to our room as we had a lively 2 year old on board, food was warm and delivered by a host of young smiling polite workers. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel, they had a wonderful young mansinging in the bar and even the Easter Bunny hopped in to say hi!! Face painting was offered for the smallies which was a delightful touch, All in all the staff were amazing especially Emillee, she was so professional and kind to deal with. We would definitley rate this total a must stay for families.
- Travel17523400489 (10/5): Must stay if visiting Killaloe/Ballina! - Absolutely fantastic stay at the Killaloe Hotel & Spa. I booked in for me and my partner for her birthday and we loved every minute. Great value for money! We were greeted with a delicious cake in our room for her birthday which was a lovely touch. Bed was extremely comfy and room was very clean. Nice powerful shower too. Lots of channels on the telly to pick from! Breakfast was top notch. Reception and bar staff were very kind and attentive. Lovely deck outside to have a drink and enjoy the views! The Spa is brilliant too - would highly recommend booking in for a reset. Hotel only a short walk from the river leading to the restaurants and pubs in the town, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a weekend getaway. Overall, made our experience fantastic and will definitely be back in the charming little twin towns of Killaloe/Ballina!
- Badrinath (9/5): - Excellent staff. The place was very welcome, the facilities were maintained impeccably. The restaurant was definitely the highlight. Seems a little bit behind technology with usual door and key lock. A lift from the basement floor to the reception would have been much beneficial.
- Johannes (8/5): - Nice traditional - Irish-style hotel. The irish breakfast was good. The Sauna wasn't very hot. When the sauna seemed to be off at all, during the time, the team offered us free drinks, which was a nice gesture. An extra hourly charge for this sauna seemed not really appropriate, since other hotels offer this for free. Nevertheless, the sauna could be hotter than 60 degrees.
- Aoife (7/5): - Comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was lovely. Friendly staff. The spa was underwhelming, just a sauna and salt room, and definitely not worth the €15 per person cost.
- Brendan (7/5): Nice area, nice food but hotel rooms a bit dated. - Very good breakfast, ample parking, close to major roads Rooms and hotel a bit dated. Poor signage at hotel entrance and junction with the road is very dangerous, bad visibility of oncoming traffic. You almost need to be on the road before knowing if its safe to proceed

- Jack (4/5): Management needs to be improved - The breakfast The room was very dirty, everything was covered in a layer of dust, brown stains on the carpet and a stain on the orange bed throw. Asked for it to be cleaned and it was just given a quick run of a cloth and dust was still visable in a lot of areas. Bed was made the next day but glasses from room service the night before were not removed. Second night we had room service and the waiter walked straight into the room without asking while I was just out of the shower and sitting on the bed. When we were checking out it was the same woman that had checked us in and said everything was ready and payment had gone through in full online but then proceeded to tell us we had to settle the balance when we where leaving even though it had been paid a few days before we arrived We are very disappointed with our stay as it is marked as four star hotel and we have stayed in lower star hotels with a higher standard
