Rachel (1/5): Terrible customer service and starting to feel tired. - The location. The staff put us next to a wedding directly on to the venue so the noise was ridiculous. When I complained they said that there was a note on my file to say that I had agreed to the room over a phone call as I wanted a patio and was told there was an event on. This is simply not true and was a lie. This was told to me by a surly individual who used this excuse to try to refuse’s discount.

A great place to stay Room backed onto the beer garden, so no chance of an early night as it’s loud, not a big issue at all. WiFi not working in the room also a minor inconvenience. Neither would stop us visiting again

Restaurant dining is in areas surrounding a large bar area which, when busy, is very noisy indeed so that a quiet meal is impossible. Abby (9/5): Spacious, comfortable and well equipped room, great for families - Large and well presented family room with big comfy bed, and a spacious bathroom with bathtub and separate walk in shower and plenty of towels and toiletries. We also appreciated the nice biscuits and tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities. The blinds and curtains let through a little more light than I would have liked. Stairs and two set of doors into the room were a little tricky to navigate with lots of stuff (but probably helped with soundproofing)

Suzanne (9/5): Very comfortable and hope to stay there again in the future. - Good location, large room, lovely bathroom with walk-in shower. Staff were lovely. Big bed. Breakfast was good although the buffet breakfast had limited choice. The price of a cooked breakfast depended on your choice of items. Very convenient for our visit to The Space Centre at Leicester too! Had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious. Good choice of wines, mocktails and other drinks. It was all lovely.

Luckily I'd brought earplugs because there was a wedding (on Thursday!) Our room was close to the wedding barn and the music thumped until about midnight.

This was obvious as it only took 5 mins for the breakfast to come out - I’d rather wait the extra 15 minutes to get a piping hot breakfast - this would also reduce waste and over production.

There was a big party in the function room but the music finished on time just as we returned to our room. Breakfast wasn’t included, but was good quality and plentiful. Good parking. Room was large. The extractor fan in the bathroom runs far too long after the light has been turned off. The green exit light is very bright in the room. The hand shower bracket was broken. The bed was very creaky.
Keith (5/5): The Manor had been highly recommended but unfortunately failed to deliver for us oldies! - When booking, looking for twin room with free cancellation and breakfast the rooms shown had different statements about breakfast / continental breakfast see below! the position of the hotel is good the room size good both bed and bathroom.rooms isolated from pub and set around courtyard. Evening meal taken in the pub which was busy, food acceptable but a bit overpriced for what we received. the rooms at the rear were quite a walk from the parking area, didn't see any designated disabled parking and it was raining. room a good size but with only one chair, furniture designer rustic i.e. old rough fruit boxes for side tables and rough boards for head board! large central light with bulb that flickered. Wall mirror positioned awkwardly at one end of the wall. good bathroom large with bath and separate walk in shower but no stool and minimum shelves for wash bags etc First morning breakfast was bizarre we believed that continental was included in the room rate but as it wasn't clear on the booking form so I rang the hotel before completing the booking and understood that continental was included but cooked options varied as to what you ordered, odd but ok, however the continental was very basic and then described as a buffet I wanted a couple of poached eggs which were £8.00 or £8.50. the buffet consisted of cereals, a single option of bread for toast with jam a few bananas and yogurts with berry compote and make your own tea and coffee! no melon or other fruit, no cheese, no ham, no bread options, no danish or croissants. I was disappointed and felt miss lead the second morning when I just had the buffet and at check out found 2 x £8.50 on the bill for the buffet, I complained as we had rung the hotel and it had not been adequately explained and it was far too much for what had been provided, it should have been in the room rate or have been a full continental breakfast. the cost was removed but it left a bad taste, never had any similar system in other hotels. would not stay again. it needs to be clear when booking.

Bown (9/5): Despite the first night it’s a great place to stay. - We stayed in one of the independent rooms, in the annexe, which was very comfortable, and well appointed. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. It is also a very convenient to visit family and friends. A Christmas party was being held in the function room which directly faced our room on the first of the two evenings we stayed. If I had known that I most probably wouldn’t have booked to stay there but I do think the manager could have warned us/apologised when we arrived as we had also just paid in full for our accommodation.

Chris (7/5): Very nice bar, restaurant and accommodation. Just struggled to work from my room due to lack of desk - location, hotel bar and food and friendliness of staff were all good. Price was fair too. The room had no place to actually sit down and work from i.e. no chair which could be used with the table/ desk in the bedroom. this made it difficult to work on my laptop.

Peter (10/5): Our stay was perfect in every way. We will definitely be booking up again. - Our whole experience at the Manor House was exceptional from the moment that we arrived. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient. The room was beautiful and decorated and equipped to the highest standard. We were attending after a sad family occasion but everything about our stay was exceptional including an excellent breakfast. We would recommend the Manor House 100%. Nothing.
