From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well put together. The room was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, and we genuinely enjoyed the overall atmosphere. The service was warm and professional, and it was easy to relax and feel at home. Little details like the calm environment and the neat presentation made a big difference and added to the experience. That said, there was one issue worth mentioning: the air conditioner in our room was leaking. It didn’t completely ruin the stay, but it was noticeable and could become inconvenient if not fixed. We’re sharing this mainly as feedback, because everything else was excellent, and we’d love to see the standard remain consistently high.

I was blown away with the service from the staff! The hotel itself is definitely livable, but the experience is made from the attentiveness and friendly service from the staff. As soon as I was shown to my room I discovered that the airconditioning unit was leaking and within 10mins maintenance was in my room fixing the problem. Special mention to Mussa and Shengwe, who somehow could resolve all my issues and did so with exceptional competency and a friendly attitude - even though some of my requests were way beyond what a standard request could be from a guest! 10/10 recommend if you value human interaction and customer service :)

The staff were absolutely amazing especially Mussa and Daniel who went above and beyond to help us. The rooms were so very clean with toilets that actually flushed and the greatest shower head with HOT running water. You should be very proud of your entire staff and hotel. They were fabulous.

- researchl2026 (2/5): Terrible - Very unprofessional experience. We had a confirmed booking, only to be told later that the hotel decided to give our room to a higher bidder. Cancelling on confirmed guests for more money shows a complete lack of integrity and respect for customers. This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience and is not how a reputable hotel should operate. I would not recommend booking here if you want reliability or professionalism.
- hasnainf2015 (10/5): Jewel in Zanzibar - Stayed a night at the Golden Tulip Resort with my family & had a memorable experience regretted not staying more , the rooms are extra spacious , very clean with comfortable beds , we were received with smiles by all staff, Chef Suleiman is amazing from dinner to a well spread breakfast , bakery items exceptional , special thanks to Nahda & Martha at front desk & hats off to the Manager Mr Castro who is the spearhead in the amazing team . Not a down side but for a better tomorrow the hotel is bit run down (though beautifull as it is) & I'm told they are soon to up date the place , but this comment should not discourage your stay at this well located & spacious property .

No manejan producto para prevenir lo zanzudos habitaban en todo el restaurante, la recepción, una experiencia muy mala, manifesté mi inconformidad porque el precio que pague fue muy alta para tan mala experiencia, espero sea considerado un refund ya que no pudimos bañarnos solo tenia agua caliente no era posible bañarse

The rooms are very clean and they put new linen everyday. I love the swimming pool and the Gym and their services are fantastic. We always looked forward to the breakfast which was fabulous and the waiters were ready for us and very friendly. Customer service is excellent 👌 I like the soft Christmas music all over the hotel so no noisy environments. The security is fantastic and all workers uphold the value of integrity and hardwork. The issue of no alcohol is good as it fosters family values.

Das Frühstück und Dinner reichlich und sehr gut. Ich habe das Hotel als Übergang gebucht um Stonetown zu sehen. Auf den Bildern sah es aus als wäre man direkt am Strand. Allerdings gab es keinen Strand sondern direkten Zugang zum Meer bzw. Matsch. Die Dusche war sehr alt. Die Lage ist direkt an einer Hauptverkehrsstraße und in näherer Umgebung ist sehr viel los, allerdings nichts was ich Touristen weiterempfehlen würde. Um außerhalb essen zu gehen muss man ein Taxi buchen.

The whole suite was stinking with smell from the toilets, and despite multiple complaints the staff just kept telling us we are following up and did not do anything. Ultimately had to come down and sit in the reception area to get some sort a resolution, but the staff just kept delaying. Ultimately they agreed to change the room at 10:30pm.

The room was spacious and as described with more amenities. My brother got a surprise birthday cake and singing for him which made his trip heartfelt. Nothing that I can think of. What could improve though is the responsiveness via booking.com

They had a variety of dishes for their complimentary breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable overall I rate them a 9/10. Kudos to Mariam aka humble girl, she was extremely welcoming and ready to assist she deserves a pay raise 😉 😉. Thank you Golden tulip resort for having amazing staff who hosted us real good.

I like food as you can tell. The breakfast is also delicious and you’ll have a chance to have as much fresh juice as you can ask for complimentary. A very nice stay and not too far from the ferry or darajani.

Nous avons dû payer une nuit supplémentaire pour avoir un départ tard dans la nuit pour notre vol retour, c’est normal. En revanche, quelques heures après, un mariage s’organise dans l’hôtel : plus d’accès aux commodités de l’hôtel tels que piscine, transats (alors que nous avions payé ! 93$). Inadmissible. Nous nous sommes confinés dans la chambre jusqu’au départ. Pas de geste commercial, rien (en tout cas à l’heure à laquelle je rédige cet avis). Enfin l’emplacement n’est pas idéal (pas de comodités ni de magasins de proximité pour pouvoir manger moins cher qu’au restaurant de l’hôtel)

The Hotel is situated in the heart of Zanzibar busy Beit-El-Raas Street, Malawi Road, you can catch local transport or even hire your private transport, all possible.

- Uta (6/5): Stone Town allein - Das Hotel war nicht ausgebucht, so dass wir das Glück eines Updates hatten. Der Zugang zum Meer war aufgrund des Korallenriffs nicht angeraten (Verletzungsgefahr). Das Hotel liegt zu weit außerhalb. Ohne Taxi o.ä. war Stone Town nicht zu erreichen, was mit erheblichen zusätzlichen Kosten verbunden war. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer war sehr laut, so dass wir sie nachts ausschalten mussten trotz der nächtlichen Temperaturen von deutlich über 20°C. Um Stone Town kennenzulernen, reichen 2 Nächte. Wir hatten 4 Nächte gebucht und hatten keinen Mehrwert dadurch.

The property is clean and calm. Very soothing 🫠 The air conditioner if not facing the bed so you need to be off the bed to receive fresh air.
- Diyana (10/5): Excellent hotel facing the Indian ocean - Staff, Services, Rooms and Breakfast all 10/10 - The location facing the ocean was breathtaking and the hotel was very clean and the staff all so helpful and all made great effort to make our stay special. the breakfast was the best I have eaten in Tanzania and they even decorated the room, sang happy birthday and made birthday cake for my friend as requested. I loved everything about this hotel and would highly recommend it if you want to be away from the busy city centre of Stonetown. I will be staying at this hotel again on my next visit to Zanzibar. Nothing everything was excellent - 10/10
- meganhN9124YI (6/5): Decent for a short stay, but needs improvements - We stayed here for two nights as an alternative to being in Stone Town since we had a car. The reception area and lobby are genuinely lovely, and the staff were great throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the rooms don’t match the standard of the entrance. They’re dated, not finished to a high level, and the bathrooms in particular could really do with a proper refurbishment. The balconies also need a fresh coat of paint and a deep clean. Breakfast was average, though we did like that you could order eggs, waffles or pancakes from the menu at no extra cost. One downside was the lack of a bar or anywhere to sit and have a drink. We were told the bar was closed, so there wasn’t much to do on-site. There’s nothing really around the hotel either, so you need a taxi or car for everything. With the traffic around Stone Town, it ended up taking about 30 minutes each way. The pool stays in the shade until midday, and the beach area is mostly seaweed and fishing boats, so not ideal if you’re looking for a beach day. Overall, an okay stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Une douche froide, une porte de douche qui ne fonctionne pas et qui trempé toute la salle de bain et la porte d’entrée qui se décroche toute seule. Et en plus, nous fait payer un repas en double avant de partir.

Helpfull staff. 1st night I had a room with city view, the room was old and it was really loud from the street and ongoing construction in the hotel 2nd night I changed to a room with ocean view (+31$) and this room was better, nice, big bath room and great view from the 4th floor

- adeboye (6/5): A decent and clean accommodation in a good location to explore Zanzibar's tourist attractions - The hotel was comfortable and in a good location. It was good value for the money paid. Breakfast was decent. Staff were helpful and polite. The early check in is appreciated. If you take alcohol, please note that this cannot be bought on the premises and it cannot be consumed on the premises The property may benefit from an uplift, refurbishment. Internet connection was weak. There was a water problem for a few hours for part of the stay. Late check out request from noon to 1pm was rejected with the excuse that another guest is checking in later.
