Guest Reviews
- Peachesdeanna (8/5): Chic Clean and Charming - This is a a quaint chic hotel with a nice vibe. My room was clean and it smelled good. There’s no AC so if that’s a necessity for you that’s something to be mindful of however, they do provide a fan in the room. The room temperature was not a concern for me. I stayed in the room with a shower on the patio, which I was excited to use. Apparently there is construction in the area so during business hours, there’s no privacy if you choose to use the patio shower before 5 PM. I wish this was communicated to me before booking. There’s also some green netting above the patio area. I’m not sure if that’s for privacy or to seal off the elements from the construction. The pictures online don’t showcase that. This hotel is adjacent to Saul restaurant so it’s kind of like a shared space. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were great. Overall, I would stay here again I just probably wouldn’t book the patio room with the expectation that I could use the shower during the day. I’m not sure what they’re building and if the privacy will be affected once they’re finished but even with this inconvenience, it’s still a great place to stay.
- juscomedical (10/5): Great Property, Even Better People - I had an incredible stay here. The property itself is beautiful, calm, and really well thought out. Everything from the greenery to the art and overall design makes it feel peaceful without trying too hard. It was one of the most serene stays I’ve had in a long time. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and easy to settle into, and the food next door was a great addition to the experience.
What really stood out though was the staff. Brenda and Jennifer at the front desk were exceptional. They made everything easy, from helping me get my clothes washed to setting up a massage and even recommending great spots to eat around the city. They were always welcoming, attentive, and on top of everything. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience.
This is definitely a place I would stay at again and again.
- 882robg (10/5): Exceptional service and good values. - The service was exceptional. The front desk staff were engaging, friendly and provided good recommendations.
We also like the hotel values. Their support of local education was meaningful to us and we appreciated the fact the hotel supports local children.
- Randal (10/5): -
- Renee (10/5): It’s was a great stay everyone was great and I like the hotel - It’s was located near everything They should have a fridge in the room no iron to press your clothes
- Alexandra (9/5): - Very clean, staff was nice and helpful. Great location!

- 401michaelp (8/5): Antigua Guatemala recommendations - This hotel is beautiful, with the rooms surrounding a well maintained courtyard of flowers. Our room was on the smaller side. There was construction going on outside and the workers could look directly into the room. We were not told about this. It is likely a temporary experience. The staff were very friendly and the room was cleaned nicely by the staff daily. The adjacent restaurant had delicious breakfasts items. Our shower water (both the outdoor and the indoor showers) did not get hot (although the sink water did). The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is in walking distance to all of the major sites in Guatemala. The price of the hotel was a little more expensive than I would have thought for the size of the room. However, this is definitely a hotel I would consider staying at again if I visit here.
- Franziska (9/5): Gerne wieder!
- Fernando (10/5): -
- Simon (10/5): - Nice clean place Pretty expensive for the city
- anbutler1 (10/5): Highly recommend! - My husband and I recently stayed at the Good Hotel Antigua to celebrate our anniversary and had amazing experience! Prior to checking in, I was able to reach out to the staff via WhatsApp to purchase a celebration package and to receive local recommendations for our stay. Throughout the stay, all of the staff were hospitable, even going the extra mile and providing me additional good wishes dolls. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The access to the Saul restaurant was a bonus feature as we had breakfast included in our stay. The location is in walking distance of shopping, great local restaurants, and tourist attractions. We highly recommend the Good Hotel Antigua for anyone who is looking for a great stay!

- Jhn (10/5): Good Vibes! - We stayed at the Good Hotel for 3 nights and it was the perfect home base. It's located on a quiet street, just a few blocks from the main action in Antigua. The staff were very friendly. The grounds were beautiful and meticulously kept. The room had a Scandinavian vibe and was very minimal. The only complaint in the room was that the pillows were quite hard for my liking. The restaurant that is connected to the hotel was lovely, beautiful setting and good food! And the fact that this hotel gives back to the local community is perhaps the best part! I look forward to staying at another Good Hotel property in the future.
Also, note, Marriott points can be redeemed here.
- Shayna_Nicole (10/5): Friendly staff and tasty breakfast - Beautiful hotel with a charming courtyard, comfortable beds, and delicious breakfast. Brenda at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and kind, and the room we had was really spacious and well furnished with a sparkling clean bathroom (room 24 — I know they’re not all the same layout).
Hair dryer and shampoo, conditioner, soap included in the bathroom. A nice offering of teas and filtered water in our room as well upon arrival.
Very walkable to everything, too, but far enough away from the central square to be pretty quiet even on weekends.
- christinalipski1 (10/5): Great Hotel, wont regret it! - Took a trip with a friend, walkable distance but peaceful. Very clean, beautiful rooms and helpful/welcoming staff.
- William (10/5): -
- Reddy (10/5): - Nice cool place
- Ana Phillips (9/5): - Location was great. Decor was beautiful. Restaurant was great.
It was a quiet room as it was in the off season, but could have been noisy if the rooms were full.
- Drjwelch (10/5): Fun weekend, peaceful hotel, gluten free food options! Knowledgeable staff for food allergies. - We would love to come back the staff was so kind and thoughtful. Food was amazing! Sparkling clean! I have severe food allergies (celiac disease) staff was knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. The living room was so beautiful and peaceful! Only things could be improved is the bed was firm and the pillows needed a little more fluff.
- Shannon (9/5): -
- Gisselle (10/5): - This hotel has a simple, minimalist design and is located within walking distance of restaurants and downtown Antigua.
- Luis Pedro (10/5): - .
- Jesus (10/5): - Great hotel. Super clean
- Pat (10/5): - Property was just as advertised, beautifully decorated which makes for great pics anywhere. The hotel in general has modern vibe but still authentic feel of the village culture and history. The room was clean. No a/c but there was a fan. The staff were super nice and accommodating. I arrived a little early but the hotel staff hooked me up with the wifi pw and voucher for a free drink at the restaurant on property. Ill definitely stay here again next time im in Antigua.
- Jose (10/5): - Great hotel with excellent location and ver well mantained! Great for solo, couples or travel with kids
- Naira (10/5): - Very clean and the staff was very attentive
- polyplease342 (4/5): Disappointed - This is a good enough hotel in the city. Nothing too special but clean and more modern in design. However, there's no place to keep your clothes - there are no closets of any kind. The staff is super nice though. But the reason for the poor review is that they quote in USD - charge in QTZ based on their 'own' exchange rate (conversion at 8 instead of 7.7) which gets converted at a higher USD rate - so they are making money on each reservation in a false manner. The vast majority of humans are not strong in math or finance and these folks are surreptitiously cheating their customers. Very disappointed.
- Wanderlust (5/5): Nice place for a few days but someone came up with some design elements without practicality. - Friendly staff, excellent location. Nice environment. Coffee and water available. Room has no closet or shelf space. Where do you keep your clothes? Outdoor patio is gimmicky and not usable.
- Basirat (10/5): - Great experience and for a great cause!
- Tugba (10/5): - Lovely stay
- Juan (7/5): -
- Ricardo (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easily one of the nicest most pristine hotels in Antigua. Close to everything with excellent staff and a wonderful service ethos (part of your rate supports Good Hotel's NGO which educates 500 children a year at a local school. Nice Euro MCM vibe in the middle of an intriguing colonial gem.
- lakina (8/5): - I would have read it this hotel five but the staff was not friendly or welcoming. The hotel was clean and very nice and I would stay again. Everything is pretty walkable distance.
- 541quintons (10/5): So fun and safe - Great hotel great location very safe Brenda was my favorite person here she awesome Saul restaurant was excellent the manager speaks English very well and treats you with care she’s awesome.
- taneshar2022 (10/5): Awesome stay! - Awesome stay. Were upgraded due to an issue with the key scan on the door but all and all it was a great stay! I look forward to coming back.
- Fito67 (10/5): More Than Just a Hotel Stay - I had a great experience at Good Hotel. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed, with a minimalist but cozy feel. What really stood out was the staff, always friendly and helpful. The hotel’s social mission adds something special: knowing that your stay helps support education makes it feel more than just a place to sleep. The location is also convenient, quiet, safe, and walkable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a stay with both comfort and conscience.
- Kerwin (10/5): - Excellent!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hotel near airport and close to many dining options.
- Laurisa (10/5): A Modern Oasis in Antigua - The courtyard the rooms surround was so beautiful, like a mini rainforest oasis. The room was immaculately clean with a modern, yet natural design. The bed super comfortable. My favorite part was the volcano that peeked over the outdoor shower wall. Would travel back to Antigua just to stay here again. n/a
- Kassandra (10/5): - Great place to stay in, spacious rooms, and lovely service. With the convenience of great food next door at Saul. This is our second time staying here, we’ll definitely come back.
- Claudio (10/5): - Great property, close to all the sites.
- Yelyn (10/5): - 10/10 highly recommend! I loved this hotel and everything they stand for! Profits go back to the schools so the children of Guatemala have an education
The hotel staff is super attentive and nice, they have 24/7 front desk for any needs, the restaurant has amazing food and this hotel is greatly located, walking distance to everything many shops, restaurants, bars & local attractions like El Arco, Starbucks even a 25 min drive to Hobbitenango!
The hotel has a fresh, clean feel to it and although it’s a newer hotel you still get that Antigua traditional Guatemalan feeling when you’re there! I’m very happy with my stay, the AC in the room was amazing and we stayed in the Mezzanine room which was two floors with a lot of space! Next time trying the outdoor shower room!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Highly recommended, close to the city center and sites
- Myriam (6/5): Ok - Location. Hotel surrounding No room to store clothing. Couch extremely uncomfortable. Loud noise from restaurant. Tv has only two options to watch.
- eaglesfinest56 (10/5): Love in Antigua - Great time the set up in the room for anniversary was a good touch my soon to be wife really enjoyed the flowers
- Olubusola (10/5): The best hotel in Antigua! - The Good Hotel Antigua was honestly the best hotel I've stayed at to date. The staff were so kind and attentive throughout my stay. Everyone greeted you with a smile and wanted to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
I never tell hotels when it is my birthday as I am usually out for the whole day but Good Hotel surprised me by decorating my room, giving me a present and leaving a heartwarming message.
I also love that the proceeds of your stay goes towards helping children in the local community. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is in the old town and within walking distance to many restaurants and museums but still quiet at night. Everything was amazing!

- Maybi (10/5): - Loved it
- Eileen (9/5): Superb -
- Brandon (10/5): Wish we were here the whole time - Spotless and inviting
- Alvaro (10/5): - Loved the hotel, clean, comfy. Brenda at the front desk was nice.
Two items to consider, the windows of all the rooms face the indoor patio, you can’t sleep with the window open as everyone would see you, and sometimes is not as quiet. No AC just a fan.
- Kristine (10/5): - The good hotel offers fabulous accommodations, comfy beds, fantastic restaurant adjacent where we had all of our breakfast and late lunches and location is superb- walking distance to everything fascinating to see in Antigua! We will be back!
- cndseetheworld (8/5): Great stay in Antigua - Great hotel! Well located and designed. With everything you would need. Great outdoor space and bar/restaurant. The only problem we had was we had day trips most days so we missed breakfast and no to go breakfast was provided instead. It was my husband’s birthday and the birthday package was a treat!
- Miguel (6/5): - Like: hotel is in a convenient neighborhood, good restaurants are a few blocks away.
Staff is friendly
Don't recomend it.
Why? No AC for a room costin USD160 plus a night. Antigua can reach 28 celcius during the day in Spring. They provide a fan. But not even a ceiling fan!
Noise. There is music coming from the vicinity. Noise from other guest could also difficult your rest.
Poor lighting in the bedroom. And you cannot open the blinds or your room will be exposed to other quests and personnel passing in front of the room.
Nicely decorated hotel. Good concept. But far from providing a "good" experience
- Robin (10/5): - A great hotel that exceeded our expectations. We booked a mezzanine room, which was very spacious and definitely worth the small amount extra. The communal areas in the hotel are great to spend time relaxing, and the adjoining restaurant was perfect for breakfast (if we’d had more time, would have tried for lunch / dinner). An excellent stay overall and I would recommend without hesitation!
- Andy (10/5): - Excellent hotel and staff, very well located within walking distance to restaurants and other attractions. Highly recommended.
- arturo (10/5): - Nice hotel , quiet and excellent location, clean , staff very friendly
- GERALDINE (10/5): - Really nice place, front desk staff super friendly. Only thing is there is no a/c they provide a fan but it does it work. Very quiet area. Highly recommend if you want piece and quiet in antigua.
- Madeline (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous stay!
- epingy (10/5): Felt Right at Home in This Cozy Antigua Stay - This hotel is such a great hidden gem—a relatively new spot in a central part of Antigua. I stayed for 4 nights, and everyone at the hotel was incredibly friendly, approachable, and always happy to share tips, guidance on day trips, and answer any questions I had.
I was traveling solo and felt completely safe during my stay. The hotel is clean, warm, and secure, and it's within walking distance of everything in central Antigua. It’s a charming, small hotel with a restaurant (though I didn’t dine there during my stay).
The location is perfect—just a short walk to cafés, restaurants, the gym, and the heart of the city. A great neighborhood overall!
- arturo (8/5): - Nice staff
- Nga Lam Cordia (10/5): - Love that the entire hotel has filtered water. Very lovely hotel design and super quiet.
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louiqa (10/5): - Pleasant hotel in the cobblestoned center of Antigua. Well fitted rooms and bathrooms. Spacious central courtyard and common seating areas. Adjacent to a high quality cafe / bar as well as multiple restaurants and bars and cafes in the next street. Somewhat minimalist - no room phones or mini fridge - or pool but the hotel makes up for that in character and charm.
- Simmer (10/5): - It was a charming hotel in the middle of bustling Antigua. The hotel itself was clean and picturesque with a beautiful garden running through the middle of it. I slept like a baby in the room; and the fixtures were incredible too. I highly recommend this hotel!
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- 304fc (10/5): Great hotel with a great purpose - Loved staying at this great hotel. Close to everything (walking distance to everyone we wanted to go), great rooms and restaurants and friendly staff. Everything spotless and looking like new. Loved learning more about how their profits are invested in social causes like education.
- Jose (10/5): - Greta option for Antigua perfect location and excellent facilities and staff
- 780lexia (10/5): Stay here, you will not regret it! - If you are considering a trip to Antigua, STAY AT THIS HOTEL! We traveled to Antigua in February for a wedding, and I spent hours researching where I wanted to stay as I am a bit of a self proclaimed hotel snob. Good Hotel exceeded every expectation I had, and I would stay again in a heartbeat. Clean, airy rooms, friendly staff, attentive housekeeping, and amazing food can all be expected when staying here. Also very walkable to the main town square area!
- Annarose (9/5): Lovely hotel - This was a really great hotel with friendly staff. The room was huge, there was good water pressure with plenty of hot water, the AC worked great and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was super clean. I liked that it was a bit off the beaten path and quiet, but not far away or inconvenient. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again Honestly, these are nits but
- the lighting in the room is frankly terrible...it'd dark, even with the lights on, unless you open the curtains but the window is ground level directly on the courtyard so opening the curtain is not an option - it was a bit of a pain to get ready/find things
- not a problem but our bed was upstairs and bathroom downstairs, so just know that for having to use the restroom in the night
- cafe doesn't open til 8 and no lobby coffee
- theres no drawers or closet or hanging rack...just a couple of nobs on the wall which were not at al sufficient for hanging things (we were in town for a wedding with a formal dress and suit so being able to hang it would've been great)
- Allison (10/5): - Lovely modern hotel with quiet plant-filled courtyard. Our room had an outdoor shower. Great restaurant. Profits support 3 local schools.
- Tara (10/5): - Amazing hotel. Will definitely stay here again when back in Guatemala. Lovely ground and super friendly staff.
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were brilliant.
- khristina (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay here. Marí (I apologize if I spelled it wrong) was very helpful with checking us in and providing great recommendations during our stay in Antigua. The location is great right on the outside of the main center. Walkable to everything from food to other activities. It’s on a quiet road. It is located next to a hostel and other shops. The garden area was also beautiful. The staff at the desk was always welcoming when coming and going. I would recommend this to anyone and stay again.
- TGKeri (10/5): Do good. Sleep good. - Always my go to! Have stayed here multiple times, it's lovely. Get a patio room and enjoy an outdoor shower with the volcanos and the stars. You won't be disappointed. Also, I love knowing that they support children in the community. Make sure to check out their mission and purpose!!
- Emmanuelle (10/5): - Bonus: great social mission!
- IAN (10/5): - The staff, the layout but most of all the concept that Good Hotel is based on, helping the younger generation 🙏🙌👏
- Cassandra (10/5): - The staff at Good Hotel Antigua was very welcoming and accommodating to me during my entire stay. They made my birthday very special!
- tu phung (10/5): - Great!
- SunDestin517 (10/5): Love love love this hotel!!! - Awesome stay! Cannot say anything bad about this hotel. Staff was very accommodating, the room was beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent! They made our stay well worth it! We are already planning a trip for next year!! Can’t wait!!
- Michael (10/5): - Good location, clean and quiet
- Flight965 (10/5): An Oasis of Tranquility and Heart: Discover the Magic of Good Hotel Antigua 🌿✨ - Good Hotel Antigua is truly a gem nestled in a quiet yet centrally located corner of Antigua, Guatemala. Its location offers the perfect balance of serenity and accessibility, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant city while enjoying a peaceful retreat. Every detail of this hotel feels thoughtfully designed, from the lush, tropical greenery that surrounds the property—a feature that’s often underrated but adds a refreshing sense of tranquility—to the artistic touches scattered throughout the premises that could easily rival a gallery.
The rooms are not only spacious and impeccably cleaned daily, but they also carry a heartwarming purpose. Each room is named after a child who benefits from the hotel’s profits, with their story and photo lovingly displayed on the walls. This personal connection elevates your stay from merely luxurious to deeply meaningful. Adding to the charm are the Guatemalan worry dolls placed in every room. These tiny, handwoven figures are a local tradition; it’s said that if you share your worries with them before placing them under your pillow, they’ll take your troubles away as you sleep—a unique and thoughtful souvenir.
Dining at the hotel is an absolute highlight. The on-site restaurant is easily one of the best in the city, offering an affordable menu packed with delicious options and served by a staff whose friendliness is unmatched. Speaking of service, the receptionists were incredibly helpful and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed and ensuring our stay was nothing short of delightful.
We also appreciated the hotel’s flexibility with check-in times when availability allowed, a small but impactful gesture of hospitality. Their fast, efficient, and reasonably priced laundry service was another convenience that added to the ease of our stay.
And let’s not forget the absence of pesky mosquitoes during our visit—a minor detail but one that made our time even more enjoyable. Combine all these factors, and it’s easy to see why Good Hotel Antigua is considered one of the best in the city. This is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that made our time in Antigua truly unforgettable.
- Jeff (10/5): - Beautiful property, fantastic cause, and lovely staff… all the water on the property is filtered so no worries and no plastic bottles. Can not Recommend this spot enough. Thanks Good Hotel Antigua for being so good.
- Fito67 (10/5): Outstanding service - Outstanding service at Good Hotel Antigua! The staff is warm, attentive, and truly go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional - Really really lovely hotel. Rooms are fabulous and it’s and easy walk to everything in the city. Would highly recommend. Reception staff were amazingly helpful with a visa issue we had.
- gussybaby (10/5): Lovely stylish hotel - We recently stayed at the Good Hotel in Antigua Guatemala and had a significant problem with obtaining a visa for travel to Honduras.
Andrea, the lovely receptionist, helped us massively by phoning the Honduran Embassy and setting up an urgent appointment for us for the following day, as neither myself or my wife speak Spanish. She gave us advice on the quickest way to get to the Embassy and helped my wife with a temperamental online form. Amazing lady and incredibly helpful!
The hotel itself is stylish, comfortable and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
- eozge07 (10/5): Excellent - I did not know when I booked the hotel that the hotel also has a wonderful purpose to contribute to education of children in Guatemala. That made our stay more meaningful.
- santiagogaleros (8/5): IT IS A GOOD HOTEL - Good Hotel in La Antigua is an excellent option for staying outside the hustle and bustle of the city center. For this reason, you have to consider that you have to walk a bit to get to almost anywhere.
However, it is worth it because the hotel is very nice, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the service is quite good.
Next door is the Saul restaurant, which has a fairly extensive and good menu.
- 98hello (10/5): Recommended! Good Hotel Antigua - There's nothing to fault about The Good Hotel. The location is great - being a short walk to the old city area (the downtown city area is a little to heavy with traffic, fumes and noise) and the rooms and grounds were beyond expectations. Classic in style, reflecting the local culture. Best of all... Stays support the hotel's community mission to fund education.
