Very warm and friendly staff. - Reception was warm and knowledgeable regarding the close location of the Redland Performing Arts Centre. Great place to stay if you're attending a performance there. Easy check-in. Plates, bowls and cutlery are not provided in your room. We needed to go to Reception and ask for them.

• Michael (8/5): - Perfect position, excellent and friendly staff upon arrival. Gave me a larger room at no extra cost to fit the additional team mate who was travelling with us. For a room that fits at least 3 people, if not more, the bathroom only just copes. The lounge and bar area could be open longer. Couldn't make any use of those facilities during our stay (only 2 days but still..)

• Best of the Bee Gees (1/5): WORST PLACE WE'VE STAYED IN - Location Carpet was wet and stunk. Given a floor fan, that they just happened to have on hand, to dry floor while we were out. Hired a villa too. Cockroaches everywhere including in the Air Con. Never stay there again.

Pool area disgusting, everything chipped, broken tiles, rickety pool fence. Furniture falling apart, dubious stains on everything. I have renamed it the Discomfort inn and will be staying elsewhere when I return to Cleveland this week.

• Peter (1/5): I would not have slept in the room with the smell if I hadn’t arrived at midnight. - Close to transport and shopping There was a horrible smell in the room that was so bad I couldn’t sleep. The room looked relatively clean but the smell may have come from underneath the carpet. Also the lighting was bad as I walked around to the rear entrance. There was someone in the front of the building drinking alcohol but keeping to themselves. Security lighting would have made me feel safer

• Cassie (6/5): Expensive for dated, basic accommodation. - Location to Cleveland town center and Cleveland railway station. The room had two comfortable double beds with clean linen. The rooms and bathroom were very dated and lacked any decor or atmosphere. The lighting was extremely bright and poorly situated around the room. The room/carpet had a very strong deodorized aroma as though it was masking a smoking smell. There were small cockroaches in the room when we arrived. No security with access doors being left unlocked and propped open all night. Due to Christmas holidays, other guests towing large trailers or campers parked across all guest parking near the rooms.

• Jennifer Quiring-Knight (3/5): - Location Not given the room i booked, was given a room up stairs with on ability to leave as doors and lifts were shut for the night, so was locked in, with out any egress. Had to ask to be moved to the room we booked which was accessible down stairs, they were reluctant to give it to me. They did not assist with moving rooms, and the room was dirty, all surfaces where filthy, fridge door has black greasy hand prints all over it, bathroom floor was dirty. There is no access from the disabled car space, you need to go up the drive to an access ramp. There is poor lighting. In the carpark. There is a large tile missing on the walk way, which is a trip hazard. You will need to use a toilet chair over the toilet, to access. There are no bars. If you cannot use stairs, do not get an upstairs room as there is no egress in the event of an emergency, this hazard was pointed out to the staff. Staff do not seem to be trained at all. Very confused and not knowledgeable at all.

• Alison (7/5): - Good location. The rooms need an update. We have never stayed at this motel before and received a message that we needed to check in prior to 7.30pm. So we left a family dinner and arrived at 7.10 but then received a message that we had to locate a safe and get a key. No checkin..no staff. Very impersonal. The air-conditioning needs work..couldn't turn the fan down..it was freezing or hot.. no in-between.

• Paulo (1/5): - It's worth noting that my overall experience was quite unpleasant. It was hands down the worst experience of my life. The room was absolutely filthy and smelled absolutely awful. The smell was so overpowering and nauseating, it really felt like a dirty dog had been living in it. The towels were equally disgusting, covered in mud and stains. The service was terrible to boot, and the mattress was so uncomfortable, I couldn't sleep a wink. I woke up feeling absolutely exhausted and decided to leave as soon as possible.I want my refund but nobody was able to assist me and being Christmas everywhere was full... Honestly, I don't really care in the grand scheme of things, but it's still quite embarrassing to see a motel that boasts a 3-star rating and has zero reviews despite it. While I realize that it might be an older establishment, the overall cleanliness and the condition of the room were far from satisfactory, to be frank.It's difficult to put into words just how unhygienic the bathroom situation was.

The TV barely had any stations. No bottled water for free. No PowerPoint's near the bed to charge your phone

Very dated and in need of an upgrade. Pool was green. Hall carpets stained and floors uneven. An interesting approach to security - all hours back door access whilst re option closed early.
