Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): - A well appointed property to make your stay comfortable. A comfortable bed, good shower and nice touch with milk and treats for visitors.
- Michael (10/5): - I had a lovely stay over the weekend. The room was spotlessly clean and lived up to the description.
It was a nice touch to havecthe muffins in the fridge.
It wasnt easy to get the key from the safe box. It was very fiddly but overall i enjoyed my stay.
- Simon (10/5): - Thx for the accomodation!
- December (10/5): - Checkin process was easy with emails from owners. Room was spacious and very clean. Mini fridge was stocked with milk for coffee and the Orange juice and muffins were a nice touch. Outdoor space was nice with views of the water!
- Catherine (8/5): - Clean spacious propertyand easy parking. There were no plates/ glasses / cutlery in the room though( on request we eventually managed to access some glasses) View over the ferry terminal was picturesque .
- Nicole (10/5): - Nice for our quick stop. The muffins, yogurt, milk and juice were thoughtful :)
- Tim (10/5): Excellent location - Excellent accommodation, very clean when we arrived and serviced daily. Lovelt touches with coffee, orange juice and some breakfast necessities complimentary. A wonderful spot for exploring into Glencoe and the Western Highlands
- Verified traveler (10/5): Just what we wanted - Really spacious room/suite comfortable bed, great view, great location for ben nevis etc. Shame the restaurant was closed but this was made clear from the point of booking, this just would have been an added bonus
- etienne (10/5): - Clean quiet
- Aaron (6/5): Over priced for what it is - Over priced for what it is. It probably looked great when it was new.
Mould round the bottom of the shower.
Bottle of milk in the fridge was so off it had turned to jelly.
No one on site for such a problem.
If you want food or to pop out for a drink you have to drive to the nearest place
- Heather (6/5): - Nicer than having to stay in Fort William. Communication from the operator was timely on the key location and code. We took the ferry on foot for free to go dinner at the Inn across the strait
- James (10/5): - Was great. Comfortable quiet and very roomy. Loved it. Thankyou.
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful spot with Loch views. Very comfortable room. The restaurant /bar was not open at the time of our stay which was well communicated in advance so we knew we needed alternate options. ( Fort William or across the Loch by ferry to Corran).
- Ross (10/5): - Had a very enjoyable stay at The Corran. The apartment was perfect - great size and layout and everything we could have wanted as inclusions was catered for. And the view from the front deck is stunning!
- Daniel (10/5): Excellent Room - Room was excellent and the views were amazing.
Fridge with muffins on arrival was a brilliant added touch.
Will be using again when in the area.
- Alasdair (8/5): - Clean comfortable room with all facilities we could need. Tasty items for breakfast in fridge. Great location for exploring wider area. Hope to return in not too distant future
- Cami (8/5): - Great little apartment and communication about check in was very clear. It was super clean and comfortable. Didn't realize it was several miles from anything to eat or do, but it was winter so that is really on me for not reading description close enough.
- Lisa (10/5): - This place was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay. The host is wonderful and left us some breakfast items in the mini fridge. It was a beautiful view of the loch and mountains.
- Ann (10/5): - Stayed one night & was easy & quiet. Beautiful area on Loch Eil. Caught the ferry across the loch to the inn at Ardgour as the restaurant was closed - stayed Nov 2024. Was a treat & unique way to travel for dinner. Have to have the haggis bon bons! Loved staying at The Corran 💙
- MARIE (10/5): - Lovely accommodation, clean, modern and functional.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Scotland Vacation - Such a cute suite right on the bay! Easy check-in & they provided complimentary muffins, yogurt, milk, & orange juice.
- Beth (10/5): - Very cozy and easily accessible throughout Glencoe area.
- stephen (4/5): - Took the ferry across loch for a meal. The facilities were not up to par
- Iain (10/5): Great stay. - Lovely room, clear instructions left for entry to property and amenities.
Very close to Glencoe, Fort William, and the Loch Leven Seafood Cafe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful accommodation with stunning views
- Thomas (8/5): - Restaurant was closed. Had a private and convenient parking. lot. Unique upstairs room with nice view of locke. Very clean and quiet. No staff at the property but available by phone. No problems, stayed one night and would stay again.
- Charles (10/5): Will be back! - Wonderful accommodation, great views, comfortable environment, and brilliant service. An excellent home away from home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent stay on way back south after activities holiday in Scotland. The muffin in the fridge on arrival was a welcome surprise. Would recommend.
- Greg (10/5): - Very nice accommodation, easy to access, lovely location.
- Lauren (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Heather (10/5): - Good stay! Large spacious and clean. Warning -about 17 min drive from Ftwilliam and the Ferry is a good alarm clock in the morning.
- Barbara (10/5): - Very nice
- Neave (10/5): - Very nice place with amazing views of the ferry crossing. Very quiet and comfortable. Nice touch that breakfast items were left in the fridge. Overall good experience and no complaints.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Brilliant find - What a brilliant find. Spotlessly clean and lovely and warm even for a stormy January. The mini fridge supplied with fresh orange, milk , yoghurts and muffins was a lovely touch. Brilliant shower and quality towels and furnishings. Great value for money.
- Heather (6/5): Nothing exceptional - We stayed 2 nights as a part of a longer stay in Scotland. This is not within walking distance of anything and sits right next to the ferry loading zone so it wasn’t as peaceful as I was expecting.
The room was large with a double bed. The sofa in the room showed signs is ware and there was black mold in 3 of 4 corners in the shower. Bedding and towels seemed clean.
You can’t control the room temperature, it is set for you.
We didn’t interact with or see any staff during our stay.
- Cameron (10/5): - Brilliant stay, very friendly and accommodating team, with nice touches to make our stay special. Thoroughly recommended!
- Anne (8/5): Great room & view. - Very good value. Lovely room. Wonderful view. Plenty of products in the bathroom.
Complimentary water & breakfast welcome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Corran - Nice modern place to stay! Check in process was a bit difficult but the stay was great. Really spacious room. Really appreciated the complimentary breaky! Lovely underfloor heating (although it got a bit hot at night)
- Shanna (8/5): - Very quiet and nice property. We were looking for a nice relaxing and quite place to return to after a day full of hiking. It met our needs perfectly.
- Ed (10/5): - We had a really nice stay at The Corran. It's more a lodge than a hotel room ~ couch, flat screen, fridge, breakfast (super good muffins), and the location right above the ferry is fantastic! The bifolding glass door opens up onto the deck overlooking the waterway! Awesome!
- Morag (8/5): - Property itself is lovely, comfortable, clean and modern. Can’t fault it.
However, check in instructions are really not good customer service. Had to message, text, phone the host and even had to contact the property next door to try get in contact, who happened to say that this happens at the time. Eventually got a text after check in time to give the key code and room number.
Really lovely property but this would put me off ever going back again
- Cathy (10/5): Perfect - Great location & accommodations!
- Sue (10/5): - Lovely big room, comfortable bed
- Consuelo (10/5): - The property is located in a nice and quiet area, and from our junior suite we were able to see the sea and the mountains. There is a ferry which connect with Ardgour, where there is a wee pub who provides at the moment only dinner. Unfortunately at the moment due to vessel breakdown there is no Corran Ferry service at this time. However there is a free shuttle service, which can take 12 passengers and up to 4 pedal cycles at a time. It is operating to the normal ferry timetable.
The rooms are very comfortable, with kettle, mini fridge, tv and coach. At the time we visited the property was selfcatering.
The owner have been in touch with us during our stay with wee messages, and it was really appreciated.
I would return to the property and next time I would rent the suite room which provides also a nice terrace with table and chairs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really lovely warm room and decor, very clean, and the breakfast items were much appreciated. It's proximity to the ferry is useful (runs 06.30-21.30). Great restaurant walking distance (Go West). Would definitely come back
- Kasim (10/5): - Beautiful location and the room was very nice and clean too. Will definitely be back!
- Constance (10/5): - Perfect location. Great amenities
- P (10/5): Nice place to stay near fort William - Good well appointed room. Not sure the towel rail needed to be on.
Good comfy bed with nice view of the loch
- Rene (10/5): The Corran in Onich - Spacious unit conveniently situated directly next to the ferry which is free for pedestrians and an easy ride to the Inn on the other side for a meal.
The unit is large enough to easily accommodate a micro wave oven which would have made the stay ideal.
- Louise (10/5): Great stay! - Would have been better if the cafe/ restaurant was open but the snacks left were a nice thought
- Dave (10/5): - Great place with amazing views. Room was comfy and clean. Easy check in and good communication with owner.
- Grzegorz (2/5): Don't book if you want to get some sleep. - Stayed in the Corran suite #1. Sound insulation between rooms non existent. Couldn't get any proper sleep as you can hear people using shower/sink/flushing toilets in the rooms above you and the room next you. When people were walking in their rooms you could hear every footstep. Very poorly designed/built. Wouldn't recommend at all.
- Trevor (10/5): Just what the doctor prescribed - Location was excellent next the Corran ferry. Room was fabulous, warm, cosy with a very comfortable bed...Made our trip away. We have booked again for April..
- Amy (10/5): - Beautiful property with spacious rooms and great amenities. Without staff onsite the check in was slightly confusing (there's a similarly named hotel right next door we tried to get into first!).
- Patrycja (10/5): - Perfect stay! The accommodation is close to Glencoe and Fort William. The room was clean, modern and spacious. The bed was comfortable and sheets were spotless. The bathroom had a large shower. I loved going back into warm the room after a hike in the rain in Glencoe. The communication with the host was smooth as well.
- Richard (8/5): Very comfortable - Really nice quiet, well and tastefully decorated room in a great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy checkin no problems lovely and clean loved our weekend stay. The extra touch of complimentary muffins milk orange juice yogurt for breakfast was so nice thank you so much.
- Adele (10/5): Corran must - Absolutely gorgeous location.. lovely clean modern room with balcony. Complimentary breakfast i the fridge was a real bonus.. would definitely recommend
- Laura (10/5): Absolute perfection! - Absolutely beautiful location! Accommodation very stylish and clean. We wanted for nothing whilst there. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone. It certainly does not disappoint! Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, Well-maintained, Restaurant closed but kind comprementaly breakfast set prepared in fridge. Recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great room with views of the loch - Gorgeous room with a great view. You can take a ferry across the river and Fort William is a short drive away for food. Only downside is that you can hear the other guests through the walls. We were lucky it was only tv and people chatting on the evening.
- Gary (10/5): Great Room Great View - Great location & great room. Our room had bifold doors that opened on to the deck which overlooked the Loch. Will definitely head back there again. The check in experience was just a text for the code to the key safe & all went well, all professional
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent accommodation. Modern, stylish, extremely comfortable. Very clean. Only downside is lack of breakfast when it appears to have an area that looks like it could serve meals. This would make it outstanding however still highly recommended and would actively seek to stay here again
- Andrew (10/5): Relaxing - Excellent accommodation with great view! Pity restaurant was closed due to restrictions
- Lesley (10/5): Great stay - Great stay, lovely spot with access to ferry by foot to pub across the lock. Fridge stocked with milk, orange juice, yoghurts and muffins plus tea and coffee which was very handy. Rooms decorated in a lovely contemporary style with comfy bed and pillows. I used Tesco vouchers which was great value.
- Katherine (10/5): Weekend stay 10/10 - My partner and I decided to book a weekend stay here for her birthday. It was an amazing weekend. The room Junior Suite) was very comfortable (with the exception of the squeaky bed, only downside haha). The pub across the way (using the ferry) is a brilliant place for a drink. We recommend using a car to get here and around as we relied on the bus.
I also planned a proposal while here, and with the help of John, it went beautifully as he put up some balloons, left a bottle of bubbly, and a box of chocolates for me while we were out. 10/10 would recommend and stay again.
- Iain (8/5): Lovely stay - Amazing view and comfortable stay.
Due to Covid-19 the restaurant was closed but very kindly a fridge was installed with complimentary breakfast goods, which was lovely. Nicely located and quiet too, no traffic noise from the ferry.
Would recommend and will be back.
- Colin (10/5): - Great location, high standard of furnishing, smooth check in, great bathroom and shower.
- Alan (10/5): - We only stayed 1 night due to us touring, the suite was very clean and modern, a nice touch was the small continental breakfast in the fridge, the location is beautiful and right by a ferry, next time we are in the islands we will hopefully stay here for a few days
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Pleasant stay, host had great communication and provided details of local resturants. Beautiful location
- Martin (10/5): Great Accommodation - Lovely room, had a small fridge with breakfast replenished everyday. Well maintained and nice facilities, definitely would return. Just what we were looking for, not to far from Fort William.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great clean modern apartment - Great stay here, really enjoyed it. It's an apartment so don't expect hotel services, but was perfect for our needs. Highly recommended
- Graham (10/5): Ideal high quality accommodation - Perfect location for a trip to the Fort William area. Peaceful countryside surroundings, yet with a bus stop nearby you can even visit using public transport. The rooms are finished to a high standard with high quality amenities, great bathrooms and a very comfortable bed. The WiFi is fast and inclusive of the room cost. Complimentary milk, muffins, biscuits and orange juice are provided everyday.
I'm looking forward to another visit in the not too distant future even if it's a long drive up from the Sussex coast!
- Shaun (10/5): Wonderful modern hotel in the Highlands - A spacious modern hotel a few miles out of Fort William, now working as rooms only as the restaurant is closed. Superb b d, amazing shower and bathroom and WiFi. A few places to eat nearby, but the room is just perfect, quiet and luxurious. Absolutely perfect, wished we could have stayed longer
- Adele (8/5): - Nice accomodation ,clean and modern. Good location and about 12 minutes outside fort wilkiam
- William (10/5): very very nice, loved it! - Amazing, just beautiful. Hotel was spotless and great quality. Would 100% stay again
- Sean (10/5): - Absolute fabulous value for money, the view from our room was amazing. Looked across the lake with the mountains in the background. It’s around a 10 minute drive into the centre of fort William. Will defiantly be visiting again, small fridge in the room is really handy. No iron in room but was available upon asking. 5**** room 5*** service
- rhona (10/5): - Freebies when we arrived where very welcome, especially the milk so my other half could have a coffee after a long drive.
- Jamie (10/5): Great - Perfect place to stay for access to Glencoe or Fortwilliam.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good clean room - Room 2 was immaculate and of very high standard. There is no kitchen or microwave or cutlery or crockery in the room. The onsite restaurant is closed during off season. The view is great but with some noise and traffic from the ferry crossing in front of the property. There is free and gated car parking in front. Its around 5 to 10mins from Fort William.
- Michele (8/5): Great! - Beautiful place! Just A bit hard to find. It’s located by the Ferry. Aside from that it’s amazing. Thanks!
- Sean (10/5): - Fantastic accommodation!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was a good size, bar fridge great and complimentary breakfast food unexpected surprise. Lovely location near the water and ferry.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice clean & modern room however no one on site on arrival & no email sent to us for key code.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Comfortable hideaway - 3 nights in low season. Rains made it hard to hike as we hoped, but our stay was just great. Comfortable suite, easy access, heated floors a nice touch!
- Scott (10/5): - Perfect location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I really liked the decor of the room & there was a great shower. There was a small fridge with some muffins, fresh milk & juice which was a nice touch.
- Kelly (8/5): Great hotel, but check in can be tricky. - Check in was confusing. There is no one on site to check in with, you pull in to parking lot with signs that the restaurant is closed, no parking except for guests. You are supposed to receive an email prior to your arrival with your room info, however we did not. I was told by the friendly couple who run the hotel next store that this was very common. They were able to help phone the person who runs the hotel and get my details.
Once we got in our room the hotel was fantastic! The rooms are very clean and well furnished. There is a ferry that can take you across the water for free to an Inn with great food. Light breakfast and coffee/tea was left daily. Overall really nice, just a poor first impression.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms at Corran are superb. My only criticism being that when the restaurant is closed (seasonally) you need to research your food options as there is not much around the property. After a long day driving or hiking you don't feel like searching for a meal. That being said rhe complimentary breakfast goodies was a great start to the day.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property is not staffed so Fire Alarms going off repeatedly, even in the night, and issues with broken lighting weren't attended to promptly.
Photo and description should be changed as no restaurant facilities at all.
- Mark (10/5): Superb accomodation - We were extremely pleased with the clean and smart accommodation. My family were very impressed and the little features like usb ports for charging phones was very pleasing. Great furniture and look with a fantastic balcony. We loved our stay and would use again.
- Kevin (4/5): Give the Coran a miss - No service at check in. The apartments are a block of 5 with keys secured in key safes by the door. The proprietor was supposed to email the code. No email and an hour searching in pouring rain was only relieved by the owner of the adjacent property, who contacted him by phone. Unsatisfactory check in. Restaurant and separate bar are both closed. The included ‘breakfast’ consisted of a muffin and yogurt. Room adequate but We could not recommend this establishment. We definitely won’t be back!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Easy check-in and departure. We had the junior suite which was roomy and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing! Loved our two nights here. It was our favorite lodging in all of Scotland.
- David (10/5): Fantastic accommodation (but you cannot eat here) - We booked the accommodation for its great central location for the second half of a weeks holiday.
The Corran Serviced Accommodation offers First class accommodation with a great location, but the attached restaurant shown in the photo was closed all the time we were there, and to be fair, we were advised it would be before we travelled. However there is not a lot of places to eat within walking distance, other than the Inn at Ardgour across the Loch, by using the frequent (free for foot passenger) ferry.
What wasn't obvious to my wife and I though ( and I accept it might be our misunderstanding) was that there is no facilities whatsoever in the room to prepare or eat any food hot or cold, other than the continental breakfast provided each day (no plates, cutlery or microwave)
- Nahal (10/5): Large and comfortable room - Large, clean, extremely comfortable room! I would definitely book again. The light breakfast in the mini fridge was a nice touch. We are American and tend to eat big (lol) so it wasn’t enough for us, but thank you for the thought.
- ANNA C (10/5): Loved it! - Loved it! Great space and decor, amazing view and we got some treats in the refrigerator, which was awesome! Really recommend it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Spacious and quiet - It can take 20 minutes to get into Fort William from the Corran subject to traffic. We had a quiet, clean and spacious room. The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of space for our things. The shower was an issue as the range of temperatures available were all too hot but that might now be fixed. The rooms are centrally heated rather than individually controlled. Some very welcome breakfast provisions are left each day. But for the shower would rate this higher.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location for Glen Nevis and Glen Coe. Very comfortable and stylish accommodation.
- Alison (10/5): Lovely room - Lovely room. Very clean and spacious. Short walk to local restaurants. Lovely beach and lighthouse just across the water on free ferry
