Guest Reviews
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Very hospitable hosts and a great place to stay. Rooms still need a bit more work but they are getting there. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
We will be back.
- Malcolm (6/5): - It is OK. I thought I was getting a higher-spec room than I evidently ordered. Staff were helpful.
- Beverley (8/5): - Typical 1800's Country Town Pub. Showing wear and tear, but it was a quaint experience. The dining room is the best part of the hotel. Friendly local people. We had a quiet night and slept well in our room. The water is nice and hot, plus ability to boil a jug in the kitchenette.
- Eileen (10/5): - Very unique loved it
- Sarojini (6/5): - Old and out dated not a problem but a coat of paint in the rooms would have made a huge difference and airing the rooms out would have been nice. The smell in the rooms were horrible. Bed was comfortable though.
- Geoffrey (4/5): - The hotel is very old and needs quite a lot of maintenance. There is no room service. In the five days we stayed the rooms were not cleaned and if we were lucky we got a clean towel, a small container of shampoo and a small cake of soap. The hotel is under new management and I believe that they will do their best to make improvements. The food in the restaurant was above average
- Khalman (6/5): - Beautiful place, very outdated needs to be updated. Always when checking the room i noticed it hadn't been properly cleaned. Rubbish still in the bin and room not vacuumed the bedding seemed as if it wasn't changed from previous guest use. Bathrooms and toilets coulf do with a deep clean as the state of them where in poor condition.
- Linda (8/5): - Love staying at these types of Hotels. A step back in time. Although sharing facilities, never ever a problem, sometimes the only couple there!
- Lean (4/5): - The hotel itself is a part of Dargaville historic place. But the condition inside the room needs refurbishments.
- Marara (6/5): - Ill be honest we stayed in the family room.
Staff was nice, own off street parking was great, beds were nice, air-conditioning was bloody awesome because you definitely needed it wifi was good.but thats where it ended.
Kitchen had no milk for a while. As soon as you hopped on the bed it was very dusty and needed to be aired out.
A used plaster stuck on shower wall ew.
Windowsill was rotten and if you wanted to open the windows you had to jam something under it or smell yours and family's poop if you had one.
The kitchen was run down paint peeling yuck smells with rotten food in fridge no milk two forks. Tv was meh chanel 1,2,3.
1 place to charge a phone or to use for anything.
I would say if you are young and wanting to like go there because of maybe being to drunk to drive home then yes book there since the bar and restaurant is below but for a family its a no for me.
Sorry about the comment but for $146 its a bit pricey
- Jonathan (8/5): - Good value for money
- Deise (4/5): - The hotel has a creepy atmosphere, very old and definitely not well maintained. Pretty low hygiene standards. There were old blueberries rotting in the sink of my room, dirty and wet towels in the cabinet under the sink, lots of dust in the corner of the room and around the bed, the toilets were disgusting with a terrible smell and the curtains in the shower seemed not to have ever been washed. The hallway is dark with squeaky floors. I would not stay again.
- William (6/5): - Old hotel that has been adequately updated (shower was spotless) and comfortable bed. Sufficient overnight, but nothing fancy.
- Natalie (8/5): - The linen and towels were fantastic.
- Alexx (8/5): - It is ok but not ideal rooms.
- Shona (6/5): - It was great to stay in a heritage 2 listed building but it comes with the down side of not being well maintained. If you like cheap and cheerful this was a good option.
- Jean (6/5): - Great food !
- Alexx (4/5): - Property is very outdated. Shared showers are covered in mould drains are blocked. Bed linen was dirty and stained. Absolutely horrendous
- Winfred (2/5): - Old dump, overpriced for what you get!
- Mary (6/5): - Noise, poor bathroom facilities, very, very tired. Not even a fan in extremely hot weather. Kitchen pretty horrid. But generally, clean, and very pleasant staff. Friday and Saturday nights especially noisy
