- OlderGuy1956 (2/5): Unpleasant staff, unnecessary security fee, no restaurant poor location and disturbed night - The staff on our arrival were extremely grumpy and unhelpful; they seemed resentful to be there. The location is an urban desert, right under a road bridge. This isolation was further enhanced by the announcements that the restaurant closed on Sundays. The room was extremely small, and poorly equipped (only one towel per person - no hand towels). Someone tried to get into our room at 01:30 in the morning - quite disturbing; again the staff were not in the slightest interested. Finally they charge you a 150 euro “security” fee on your credit card which will be reimbursed if you do no damage - apparently there has been damage in the past. My advice - don’t stay here; there are much better options elsewhere.

- Tony150357 (2/5): We cancelled our visit due to sharp practices on the part of the hotel. - We booked this hotel and neither Booking.com or Best Western told us they would be charging us a €230 "damage deposit" on arrival and not pay it back for "hopefully no more than 7 days after checkout and once the room has been checked for damage". Only the next day did I receive an email telling me this. Shocking practice. I went back through Booking.com and looked through every detail offered by the hotel regarding payments and related policies; nowhere was this mentioned! Hotels with these practices need to be punished. I cancelled.

- Patrick (6/5): Rooms like a sauna, no functional air conditioning - Air conditioning is locked out and will only go down to 25 degrees not any cooler. While I was there it was extremely hot outside and the lack of proper ac made my stay unbearable. Excuse given by staff is that it was the law and the hotel could not legally lower the temperature. Strangely other hotels in France somehow do have lower temperatures. I stayed here in 2024 and 2025 but will not be coming back as it’s impossible to sleep. I have a heart condition and high blood pressure and the time in this hotel is not safe for my health. You have been warned!

- paulreeves2024 (6/5): This is a very special place, but please do your research 1st! If you arrive with no car, be prepared for lots of walks. - I was at fault for not properly doing my research! The hotel was miles from anywhere, albeit in idyllic countryside. The hotel quite rightly boasted of a good restaurant on its website, but failed to mention that that restaurant was not open at all at lunchtimes, and only open 4 days a week in the evenings. (3 days a week during my visit, due to a Bank Holiday.). For an internationally-recognized brand (Best Western) to have a 3 star hotel, where the restaurant is only open for 3 or 4 days a week is incredible and unacceptable, given that the days on which it was closed are arguably the busiest days of the week, namely Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (and Monday Bank Holiday). If you do not have a car, there is nowhere else to eat within (2 hours') walking distance. The staff were excellent and did their level best to help me out.

Petit-déjeuner correct mais sans particularité marquante. L'équipe se distingue par sa grande sympathie et son écoute attentive, méritant une note de 5. Les chambres côté parking offrent un calme surprenant. Toutefois, présence de moustiques malgré la moustiquaire. Une chaussette laissée sur l'alarme incendie par les clients précédents, oubliée par l’entretien, une odeur de tabac persistante dans la chambre. L'équipe, soucieuse de la satisfaction des clients, a offert des boissons en guise d'excuse pour ce désagrément. Merci votre amabilité a rendu le séjour plus sympa. Attention, il a fallu reclamé les boissons offertes car non remises spontanément.

- Kent (4/5): Not a satisfactory stay. - Absolutely forgettable. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the main arterial route, as I was driving to Toulon. An unfortunate choice and truely forgettable. The reception staff were kind, professional and helpful. Thats where it end's for me unfortunately. The bedroom was small but recently redecorated I'm guessing. The bathroom was terrible. The shower head sprayed water in every direction thanks to the build up of calcium in the shower head. The floor flooded, thanks to an ineffective glass panel and seal. Not a one off experiance, it seems as the bottom of the door was obviously water damaged in the past. Ineffective pillows gave me a sore neck but thankfully the sheets were clean. Zero sound insulation apparently as I was woken in the early hours by an upstairs guest repacking their bloody wheeled bag in the early hour's of the morning. I could hear the trolly wheel's moving over the floor! Breakfast was a farce, nothing I selected was edible. I regret paying an extra fee for breakfast. The eggs were just gross and I wouldn't feed that rubbish to my dog, if infact I did have one. The toast bread was just stale. Should just have had the fruut salad... definitely wasted my money on this premises. Will not re visit or promote this property. At least they had ample free parking.

- jenniferlS1435ML (10/5): Best Customer Service Hotel - Best Western Hotelio Sud review, I have to say this is probably the best customer service hotel I’ve ever been to. And coming from the US, the breakfast you get really puts other Best Westerns in America to shame. In the US, the most exciting part of the breakfast in to make your own Belgian waffle, but in France, it’s a selection of cheeses, meats, fruits, pancakes, juices, coffees, chocolate croissants, jams, and breads, breads, breads! Can you tell I liked the breakfasts? Now, to the hotel stay… When I first arrived, I met Theo who was friendly and who spoke perfect English, which I was not expecting. I was worried about speaking French and I was amazed how many people speak multiple languages at your hotel. Nina and Romain, the managers, were both accommodating and helpful when I needed to extend my stay and even invited me to their lunch one day along with Laurence, who was the head of housekeeping. I felt like part of their family. Laurence was very organized and always gave me a smile. The hotel was extremely clean and the whole crew of housekeeping was hard-working, including the daily pool attendant. Emma and Theo were always there to help me with anything I needed especially when I hurt my back and needed a taxi to get to a doctor. I really was grateful for their empathy and impeccable customer service. Kenza and Emma helped call me multiple taxis. Emma and Lea A. suggested several unforgettable spots to sight-see. Steven gave me a lesson on wines at the bar while Theo served up a fantastic Panini as they both ran the front desk and served other customers at the bar and in the dining room. On other nights, I was served by Lilou, Youri, and Brian who also were friendly and ran the front desk. In the dining room, Lea C. was always there to serve me dinner and explain the dishes and desserts. She was so sweet and I enjoyed talking to her. I have to say that Elyes, the chef, personally served me some of the best meals I’ve ever tasted. The first night I was there I ordered the chicken, parsnips and potatoes, and I told Theo it was fantastic. Theo brought the chef out of the kitchen and I met Elyes, and after that night, he would personally serve me his meals. The lasagna was my favorite and the fish was delectable and I’m not a fan of fish! But he would bring me little bits of food I didn’t even order just to taste his cooking and everything he made was amazing. I cannot say enough about the staff at Hotelio Montpellier Sud, they are all wonderful! I had a happy, memorable stay and I will return again. The customer service from all of them was worth writing a review for. They are running a beautiful, clean hotel tucked away in an unforgettable corner of the world and they made my stay absolutely wonderful. Thank you, Jennifer

- Janina (6/5): - Leider waren wir vom Service, der Lage und der Sauberkeit enttäuscht. Wir hatten ein dreckiges Bad Flecken auf den Laken, es roch nach Marihuana und die Betten waren zu weich. Die Möbel waren abgenutzt und das Personal hatte sprachliche Verständigungsprobleme. Zudem war es extrem laut Das Frühstück war ok. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis war überhaupt nicht gut.

Car côté chambre la literie était de qualité, mais espace trop étroit, surtout lorsqu’on est à trois dans une chambre avec aucun placard et uniquement 1, passage de 50 cm Pas de frigo mais l’accueil peut vous garder au frais vos boissons ou autres. La piscine est propre et nettoyé assidûment tous les matins

- MariaDavidRobinson (6/5): Decent hotel in great location - Nice basic hotel in an excellent location. We chose the hotel primarily because of it's location, being right opposite the Sant Roch main train station. It's also right on a few tram lines. We didn't have breakfast there but rooms were OK and clean, and with a mini balcony overlooking the main street. With the windows closed the room was fairly quiet. Would recommend, mainly due to location.

- Stephen (8/5): - The location was a little tricky getting to, involving a seriles of consecutive roundabouts. The property itself was perfectly acceptable .... with a very nice breakfast. We had also planned to eat dinner at the restaurant but had a misunderstanding which prevented it. When we checked in we saw the board at the restaurant which had a very nice long list of meal options. The board said the restaurant opened at 7:30. So we waited until 7:30, only to find that the "long list of meal options" was for "snacks" prior to 7:30 ..... but when the restaurant itself opened at 7:30, only two options were offered. We can probably attribute some of this to the French/English language barrier. Oh well!
