Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the cabin in the back which was…. Absolutely adorable and as pictured. I would highly recommend to communicate with the host ahead of time, because while the contact phone number is listed at multiple points on the property, it can be difficult for a traveler without phone service. I was traveling from another country and had data only, I was fortunate to have a local person lend me their phone so I could check in that first evening. That is my only advice for anyone wanting to stay here - since there is no formal check in desk - just be prepared ahead of time. The parking/driveway in the back can also be a bit tricky… we had to reverse all of the way out from around the back of the house… doable… but not ideal.
Overall, definitely 5 stars for the place and the kindness of the host, just some “good info to know” for those who are not local and will be parking there.
- Michael (10/5): - Very good
- Helen (8/5): - Lovely room, lovely breakfast in bed.
- Regina (10/5): - This property was beautiful and unique. It was our own little cabin behind the main house with parking. Margaret and her son were very helpful with any questions we had. We stayed for three nights and could easily travel to Waterford, Wexford, Tramore Beach, Hook Lighthouse and the town of New Ross has some interesting attractions.
- Grace (10/5): - We were in the cabin behind the main property and it was so quiet and lovely. The rain on the roof while we were sitting on our little front porch was magical!
The mattress left something to be desired but that was my only concern.
- Alysha (10/5): - Our stay was perfect, and the host is so very accommodating and friendly! The room was so clean and charming. We even booked an extra night since we enjoyed our stay so much! Thanks so much for the amazing accommodation our first time in Ireland!
- Kieran (6/5): - Final payment was taken out of my account without consent beforehand. I was under the impression, as I was told, that final payment was to be paid on arrival. There were 2 other rooms which were to be paid by the others but their payments were taken from my account. When I asked the host for clarification of payments taken, she basically told us that if we weren’t happy we could go elsewhere as she would have no problem letting her rooms out to others! As we had nowhere else to go, we stayed. Our deluxe room looked lovely on entering but on closer inspection it was quite dirty in places such as mirror, settee, window etc and the toilet seat was sliding from side to side. My husband walked into the on suite an slipped and fell into the wall as the mat was sliding on the floor. The host made her presence known if anyone was on the veranda as every time a guest went out for a coffee or smoke on the veranda she came out although she was pleasant and chatty a private chat could not have been had. For the price a breakfast should be included but she said if she made breakfast for 1 she would have to make it for 14!!! If porridge pots or small cereal boxes and fruit were left in the room she wouldn’t have to cook for anyone!!
- Diego (10/5): - I loved the room we booked “lavender”
Comfortable bed nice details in the room and sweet in suite bathroom with many towels
Margaret contacted me in advance and it all worked out perfectly
Good location not far from town centre
Thank you
- Deborah (10/5): - The room and grounds were lovely. Walking distance to restaurants. Great value for the price. Perfect for a one night stay though the room is small the decor is very pretty.
- Robert (8/5): - A reasonably well presented self contained cabin. Furnished to high standards
- Maire (10/5): Warm welcome to New Ross - This was booked only a few days in advance and I was very happy with the accommodation. The owner provided a warm welcome and was extremely friendly and helpful.
- Jason (8/5): Cosy but bed of stones - Lovely host nice quiet area cabin was behind the main house smell of people smoking inside evidence of that lying outside the door bed was like a bed of stones needs changed parking requires a bit 7 point turning
Im being picky but overall nice spot
- Joan (10/5): Excellent Stay - Very quiet property with really comfortable bed. Our room was compact (we knew this when we booked), but very adequate. The room was spotlessly clean with a small functional en-suite. The shower was powerful and hot water plentiful. Lots of towels were provided as well as toiletries.
The host was very friendly and available if and when needed. We would definitely stay here again.
- Helen (10/5): - One of the nicest stays ever!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 1 Night Stay - Could not fault the place, was only staying for 1 night and it had a comfy bed and was warm. The shower wasn’t too powerful but was still good for a cheap stay.
- Edel (8/5): Very pleasant stay. - Very friendly hostess in comfortable clean accommodation. Breakfast extra on booking price and dissappointed as couldn’t avail of a full breakfast even though we were ordering at 8 pm on previous evening.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was ok. - Housecwas neat and tidy . Shower could have been cleaner and the bath didnt work. Headboard not attached to the bed. Mattress was very uncomfortable. I could hear someone snoring in the toom mext door on one of the nights. Tea facilities in the room was a nice touch.
- Fred (10/5): Thank you Margaret! - Very welcoming. Delicious breakfast. We will definitely return.
- Maria (2/5): - Booked through Expedia and I also followed up with an email closer to the date. I had booked the cottage and a room in the main house. When we showed up they only had the cottage available and there was no room available in the main house. This was a Friday night so it was very difficult to get another hotel for the night. Finally we ended up at a hotel about 35 minutes away. So disappointed :(
- Siobahn (10/5): Lodge - Stopped in the lodge and enjoyed our stay.
- Sandra (10/5): - Lovely, friendly owner Margaret who was so helpful with directions and advice about the locality. Huge breakfasts with fresh coffee or tea every morning, which set us up for the whole day. Relaxed atmosphere with a great welcome from 'Rolex' the dog. Loved it.
- Phillip (10/5): Clean and comfortable - A very comfortable stay and the complimentary tea, coffee and toast brought to our room every morning was very welcome.
- Jeffry (10/5): - Beautiful property! Lovely host! Highly recommend.
- Domine Mar Manuel (10/5): Only the best - Margaret was so accomodating and very friendly. She’s very caring and great to deal with. The breakfast is to die for. Will definitely go back. Very clean cabin.
- Valerie (10/5): - Lovey B&B, I would highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area! The host is very attentive and kind and the rooms are lovely! We really enjoyed our stay!
- Kimberly (10/5): It was okay - The lady at the front desk was nice
- Catherine (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in New Ross - Margaret is a excellent host and goes out of her way to ensure her guests enjoy their stay. She was most generous with a tray of fresh coffee, tea etc.
We would highly recommend, and will stay again.
Thank Margaret
- William (10/5): Amazing little hidden gem - We had a perfect stay in the Beaufort B&B, it’s a wonderful place to stop in for a night or two!
- David (10/5): - Host is very friendly with out been intrusive, highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Margaret was a lovely host and house was undergoing new painting but did not impact on my stay. Price was good and breakfast was better.
- Maurice (10/5): - Lovely room. Friendly service. Would strongly recommend
- Aimee (10/5): - This is a well-run B&B. While we didn't take advantage of the breakfast, if the room is any indication -- tastefully decorated, amenities included kettle, tea, lovely cups, biscuits; good bed and linens, spacious room -- it will likely be superb.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was made to feel welcome. Room was great. Breakfast was delicious and a good base for the day
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the room and the owner was present and helpful. I had problems with the information from Expedia.ca. They said one thing the owner said something else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Host is terrific. She is very helpful and understanding. Food was terrific
- Pamela (10/5): Beautiful Beaufort House - Ms. Margaret was an exceptional hostess. She's so personable. Beaufort House is beautiful and the room was spacious & comfy. Ms. Margaret is a wonderful cook and our breakfast was delicious! She was knowledgeable about the area and made suggestions for touring without spending hours in the car. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Kellie (10/5): Friendly, comfortable and peaceful. - A very relaxing stay. Margaret, our host was great, very friendly and informative. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and Margaret gave us great recommendations for places of interest and nearby restaurants. I would happily recommend a visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The home was beautiful, our host was amazing, our room was beyond our expectations. Had one of the best sleeps ever and woke to a perfectly prepared Traditional Irish Breakfast. As we left Rolex (our host's sweet puppy) who greeted us was there to say goodbye.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good service but very strong smell of paint in the room and no sugar in the coffee facilities
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hostess and very informative on the area. Loved the stay and would stay again. Have breakfast please. Great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly welcome. Good food nearby at Mannions, if you can book.
- Rod (10/5): - Wonderful room. Wonderful host. Simply a terrific place to stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great size bathroom and plenty of tea/coffee. Nice scenery
- Kevin (10/5): Great place to stay - Homely and friendly, a great place to stay, will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay in Beaufort House. Big room. Easy to get to attractions.
- Julie (6/5): - We stayed one night only. It’s a well kept home albeit out of the way. We walked to local hotel for meal but the actual town was some 2 klms away. I had read some reviews so had an idea what to expect. I found a clean, warm room with the best bed I’d slept on (including my own!) we did find the shower almost non existent regard water pressure which wasn’t expected and little disappointing. The owner had a full house this night and so not much interaction till the morning when we had a quick 5 minute chat. She did seem nice however.
- Lynne (6/5): - Having Netflixs was a bonus!
- Mick (10/5): Great stay - Managed to get the cabin . . Great having all that space to ourselves.no problem with facilities, or WiFi considering it was in the garden.,
Lovely helpful and knowledgeable lady.
- Patrick (10/5): - Excellent. Would definitely stay there again.
- Paul (10/5): Good base to visit the SE of Ireland - We stayed in a log cabin behind the main house which was really nice (though the shower was tricky at first). Helpful and friendly host who gave us good advice on where to visit and eat in the area. New Ross is a lovely town and we particularly enjoyed the Dunbrody ship visit - very informative. Also easy to get to Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and the coast.
