Guest Reviews
- Javier (8/5): Excelente alternativa para una escapada a Madrid - La ubicación perfecta para poder caminar hacia varios lugares de interés sin estar en medio de todo. El desayuno podría ser mejor y tener más variedad.
- Frans Verhagen (9/5): comfortable - Excellent hotel at great location. Pricey as all hotels are in Madrid, but relatively affordable.
Good but small room, with no view (internal shaft), which also meant it was quiet.
A missing coffee machine was arranged quickly.

- hayley62000 (10/5): Highly recommend - We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The room was very comfortable. I booked a king deluxe room and it overlooked an attractive, quiet street. The breakfast buffet was wonderful - eggs, breakfast meat, fresh fruit, breads, muffins and cereals. The staff was also very welcoming and helpful. Finally, wonderful location for seeing the sites in central Madrid. Walking distance to the Prado and Reina Sofia, Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor and Puerta de Sol.

- Güliz (10/5): - Her şeyini çok beğendik. Hilton her zaman hilton. Kalite aynı 🩷
- Ellen (10/5): Couldn't have been better. - The hotel location was great - near everything. Also, the breakfast was exceptional. The hot water kept changing temperature on its own - from hot to cold.
- Hoi Tung Claudia (8/5): - Location of the hotel is a nice walk from all the tourist attractions. Facilities were good, not the biggest room but spacious enough. Room provided an umbrella which came in handy. We went to the hotel's restaurant (Japanese restaurant) and the chefs preparing our food were all coughing and we unfortunately already ordered nigiri which they were in charge of making... We also explicitly said we wanted tap water once we sat down but they placed an open bottle of mineral water on our table and made us pay for it.
- ADRIANA (10/5): -
- KGRLaCroix (8/5): What a Difference Some Attention to Detail Can Make - We know the DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid-Prado very well, having spent more than two months there in 2022 during a late-pandemic lockdown. As my review from that stay reflected, the hotel was superbly managed. We had not a single criticism of the team, of operations, of the facility.
Unfortunately our two-week stay over the recent holiday season reflected a marked decline in consistency of quality. Our main observations are as follows:
1. Front Office: Still of the highest quality. Instantly responsive, highly personable, very proactive. Angela, Jimena and Alejandro, to mention just three exceptional members of a high-quality team, could not have done more to make our stay a pleasure. Thank you!
2. Concierge/Door Attendants: This team was also top-notch: helpful not simply with luggage, but with useful tips re: local restaurants, sites, and lifestyle issues, and very friendly in open conversation. We were happy to see Lupu and Antonio from our previous stay. And Daniel, whom we met for the first time, was a high-energy dynamo who seemed to be everywhere that help might be needed (more on this below).
3. Restaurant: We understood that the hotel restaurant, which doubles as the breakfast venue, is in a state of transition and may be suffering from declining business. Whatever the reason, the service was appalling:
a. Tables would remain uncleared for 1-2 hours. In one instance the GM was hosting a small party at a table and the adjacent table remained uncleared for over an hour. She appeared not to notice or care.
b. Service was sullen and very grudging - even to the point that resentment was visible on the faces of the servers. There was never a "buenas dias" or "good morning" greeting: no greeting even if they were staring at you. We were made to feel that we were inconveniencing the team.
c. The buffet was constantly out of plates, glasses, and water. Replenishment of food items was sporadic, to put it politely. And visually the buffet was a mess, with dirty spoons, dropped food, etc.
d. Getting coffee was a lottery: more luck than predictable result. In this regard, Daniel from the Front Office was constantly present - greeting, laughing, clearing tables, serving coffee - and it's not even his job. (Suggestion: Put the coffee machines outside where accessible to guests, as is done in most Hiltons. This will save staff a lot of work and guests a lot of trouble.)
e. Table settings were inconsistent and incomplete: some tables had salt; some had pepper; some had neither, as examples. Those that had pepper were no better off, as the pepper was typically empty or of a type that wouldn't come out the holes of the pepper shaker. Attention to detail.
f. Moral of this story: Change the hotel's concessionaire responsible for breakfast service. The current provider is a spent force.
4. Housekeeping: The issue with housekeeping was not lack of effort or staff congeniality. It was inconsistency of performance, reflecting lack of attention to detail at the management level.
On one day, in-room coffee would be replenished; on the next day, it would not be. One day water would be replenished; one day it would not be. Vacuuming of rooms and mopping of floors was irregular.
5. Diamond Member Recognition: I mention this only to contrast the approach taken at other Hiltons around the world. Our stay included Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There was no communication whatsoever from management. We were not looking for free gifts. We were just surprised that management did not even bother to send a card wishing us a pleasant holiday. Normal practice internationally - even in Hilton Garden Inns, let alone Waldorfs.
Individually these matters may sound minor or petty. But taken in the aggregate, the impression is of management inattention or, worse, indifference. And it impacts the quality of a guest's stay. Whoever succeeds the current GM (as we understand she is moving on to another hotel shortly) should take note of this plethora of mole holes that can quickly become a mountain.

- T332ORkeithr (10/5): Fantastic location - Excellent hotel in a fabulous location, within walking distance to many of Madrids sites. Reception team were super friendly & very helpful. Room was superb with good minibar. Definitely a place to stay when visiting Madrid.
- joejh (10/5): This hotel is in a class of its own. - This is the best of the Hilton’s I have visite.
It is relaxed and entirely staff all super helpful.
Absolutely elegant and I can’t rate it highly enough.
Thanks to Bodan and all he front desk.
Just a great place !
- Dhd72 (6/5): Not a great room - I booked with points since it was a NFL weekend. I was given probably the worst room in the hotel. It was a queen room but we could barely put our luggage in room. They had a desk and chair but you could not sit in it because the bed was on top of it. I did let the staff know I was not satisfied and they did attempt to move us to a better room the following day. However I was only staying two nights so more trouble than it’s worth. The breakfast was satisfactory, however they did not let us know there was an additional room for the buffet. We totally missed out. I would have skipped on the breakfast and received the additional Hilton points. As for the staff, they were very nice and pleasant. The location is great and easy access to multiple metro stops. There is a market across the street for drinks and snacks if needed. I would recommend the hotel, but if you are booking with points, you might ant to see the room first.

- FarAway624888 (2/5): Never Again - My family and I were scheduled to stay at the Doubletree Hotel Prada in Madrid from 4 Jul to 7 Jul 2025. We had booked 2 rooms. When we arrived in Zurich for our flights to Madrid we were told by Iberian Air that our flight had been cancelled due to an ATC strike in France and we would have to be rebooked for a flight on Sun the 6th of Jul. So I immediately called The Hilton Diamond Desk and told them of the situation. I was told during the call that they had resolved the issue and that as Diamond members and because the delay was unavoidable that we would be rebooked for a stay of just one night and that we would not be charged for the nights we missed. When my credit card bill arrived I noticed that the card had been charged for these nights in direct violation of our agreement. I called the Prada and could get no resolution. So I disputed the charge with my credit card company.
Now they are threatening to cancel my HILTON HONORS points because I refuse to pay for two nights that I never stayed. I am a Diamond member with Hilton, so I can only imagine how people without status are treated.

- jyotil111 (8/5): Madrid experience. - We stayed two nights .the bellboy Lupo and receptionist Laura and Angela were very helpful. We had the best breakfast great array .I had a little problem with housekeeping cleaning my room and they were so helpful .gave me complimentary wine bottle and a note of apology .would recommend it for its central location.
- Sandra (8/5): - Overall this is a great location! Easy access to the Gran Via, Plaza Mayor, Royal Palace and many restaurants.
- Jean (10/5): - Great service! Rooms are quiet. Literally 2 blocks from Prado museum an
- Francisco Antonio (10/5): -
- Mario Aldo (10/5): Hotel ottimo - Ottima posizione
servizio reception ed in generale del personale dell' Hotel al top.

- patricktJ3299SN (10/5): One of the best experience in Madrid - The team at DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid is exceptional for my group. We have a group of 15 coming for business and the staff has been in prompt and constant communication before, during and after our stay to ensure we are well taken care of. Everything is well prepare, friendly and arranged from the moment I entered the front door. Especially I would like to express my gratitude to Eva and Daniel for their exceptional service and it’s been one of the best experience I had with any hotels. If I come to Madrid again I will definitely stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid Prado again.
- danielaZ6177YZ (10/5): Great spot to Discover Madrid. - Incredibly friendly staff always attentive to our needs. Excellent location, located in a good neighbourhood close to museums, train station, tapas area which was great for us! Good breakfast and amazing Sushi restaurant. We will definitely repeat on our next visit.
- ghazala (10/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): Fantastic - the location of the property was absolutely perfect! Walking distance of so many amazing sites, restaurants , cafes and much more. The hotel was spotless , smelt lovely and the rooms were lovely. The staff were so lovely and polite, happy to help with any questions or giving any recommendations. Would definitely go back to this hotel or recommend to family and friends if they were visiting the city.
- PAULO JOSE (10/5): Valeu cada centavo! - Todo novo com visual moderno e funcionando perfeitamente.
- Ercenk (10/5): -
- andrewsK8911IZ (10/5): Excellent hotel in all regards. - This is a great hotel. The location could not be better. Easy walking distance to the Prado, moderate to the city center (Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real ect), metro and good restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is very comfortable with friendly and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. I went by other reviews when selecting this hotel and am I happy to spread the word. If/when I return to Madrid, I will stay here.

- Y5373SVmikeb (10/5): Perfect Location. - We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of June and were delighted with the hotel - it’s in a great location for visiting the main attractions of Madrid.
The Hotel is very central but off the Main Street and very clean with helpful staff. We had a room on the first floor, so no ‘view’ but it was spotless and large enough for us to move around with a large shower. The room had all we needed and my wife was surprised that they had hair straighteners as well as a hairdryer!
We didn’t use the restaurant but did spot the Michelin Star on the wall.
The location is perfect walking to Prado Museum (5mins) , Palace (15mins) etc. we tended to be out early and pop back in middle of day to freshen up (it was 35c most days) before heading to an indoor activity like Prado in the afternoon.
Lovely hotel in a great location.
If you need water , snacks etc. there is a small supermarket 10 meters away - if you prefer local prices rather than Hilton ones.
- Larry (10/5): - Great location for seeing Madrid.
- GoodFood88 (10/5): Five star experience - Everything about this stay made it a five star experience. The staff were super helpful and the location could not be beat. It was quiet, clean and close to all we wanted to do. The staff was above and beyond in every way, especially Angels at the front desk. I would highly recommend this stay.
- jloug (10/5): Perfect city nest! - Perfect city nest! Room 501 has a Juliet balcony, which we left open on cool nights for the breeze, and a separate large terrace with chairs where we sat and relaxed after long days of sightseeing. It is a BIG step up to the terrace, so keep that in mind.
King bed, desk area, outstanding closet/wardrobe area. Bathroom setup was a little funky, but the bonuses of the room vastly outweighed that. Keep the curtains drawn during the day to help keep the room cool in the summer.
The staff was excellent - all of our questions answered, all of our needs met, especially late night gin and tonics for the room. Breakfast was excellent, too. Worth getting out of bed for.
4 minutes walk to the Prado, 15 to Sol, 20ish to the palace, all super safe feeling, even late at night
- Cosmic57 (8/5): Close to Culture and Nightlife - My second Doubletree in as many weeks and again chosen for its location. This was a 15 minute walk from the conference I was speaking at, close to the Prado, 10 minute walk to Sol where the nightlife is and beautifully central.
It’s a small hotel with a narrow street facade but is again on a quiet side street though it’s much livelier at the top of the street where the bars and restaurants are. There’s a 24 hour shop just a little further up.
The hotel has a Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant, which I didn’t try. In the morning breakfast is served there - which was actually pretty unimpressive by Hilton standards. I’d skip it if I stay here again. Bar is quite small but cosy.
Room and staff up to the usual Hilton standard and I’d stay here again
- Sharifah (9/5): A wonderful stay. Would love to repeat, and highly recommend. - Excellent location close to all the main attractions and on a quiet street. Room was tastefully furnished and had an excellent shower, very comfortable bed. Helpful staff also made my stay memorable. -
- Debra (10/5): - Great location, helpful staff, good rooms
- Alvaro (10/5): - Very good hotel, close to all interesting points in the city, very clean and excellent service.
- Signore_Colomo (10/5): Great place near El Prado museum - Perfectly located, and with great service, this is definitely a great option to stay in Madrid while visiting. Breakfast is very good, and they have a recognized sushi bar for dinner. Rooms are little small, but standard for a downtown hotel in bug cities. And staff is always courteous and willing to help.
- Bean (8/5): Great place to stay in heart of the city - Location excellent. Room was very comfortable if a little small. Bathroom very functional and roomy. Staff were super helpful, very efficient and friendly Tea/coffee cups need to be bigger. No milk in room. No conditioner in dispenser. Struggled with AC controls
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Oguz (10/5): - Good location
- hsg52 (10/5): Really loved it! - A lovely hotel with all the amenities we needed. Nice king bed and a beautiful modern bathroom with huge, soft bath towels. My only negative is that we only had a small window and it was facing other room windows.
The staff were beyond amazing. All of the check-in staff seemed genuinely happy to see us each time we arrived. The concierges were top notch as well. Shout out to Lupo and Antonio and Danny. And they all kindly humored us as we struggled with our Spanish.
The location in the center of the city was super convenient with museums and restaurants everywhere. Highly recommended by both me and mi marido.
- Morgan (10/5): - Beautiful well maintained property, helpful staff and wonderful food, they made our stay a pleasure
- drchipp (10/5): Exceptional staff - The staff is exceptionally helpful, not only in assisting us in making difficult reservations, but also after the national power outage occurred and they were above and beyond in their duties and considerations for our comfort and safety. From the management to the entire staff, they were all heroes in making us comfortable and safe during the prolonged power outage. Very convenient location, very nice rooms, good breakfast buffets. Would definitely stay there again.
- Margaret (10/5): - Perfect location for my plans. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Virginia (10/5): - Very nice and clean! Staff is friendly and helpful.
- Serra (8/5): Very good -
- Eva (7/5): Good - Fantastic location. There was no armchair. There was a smell of mildew in the room.
- Rima (8/5): Nice stay in Madrid Doubletree Hilton - The staff are amazing. So helpful and friendly. The hotel is modern and clean. Great decor. The location was fantastic. I think for the cost, the room was actually quite small. For that price, the room should be bigger. Also there was one restaurant - Japanese. It would be great to have more variety of cusine, and especially good food options for vegetarians.
- KAI FAI (8/5): - Good location which walkable to the attractions. Design is modern.
- Chloe (10/5): - All great, breakfast was so good, staff are so friendly. The area is so nice too walk around. All good no complaints
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jose (10/5): - Great hotel in the center of Madrid. Major attractions are walking distance
