Guest Reviews
- Patricia (10/5): - A terrific place to stay within easy walking distance to dozens of unique shopping and dining options. Our room was lovely--spacious, comfortable and very clean. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Sedona.
- Rose (8/5): - Rooms were cozy and clean. However the outdoor patio area had a large garbage can that really smelled bad. We were unable to enjoy the outdoor view
- Jennifer (8/5): - comfortable and convenient but toilet was difficult to flush
- Michele (10/5): - Hilltop Inn was the ideal base for exploring Sedona—clean, comfortable rooms with stunning red rock views and a quiet, convenient location near shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful, and parking was easy. I’d definitely stay here again!
- William (6/5): - Great location not a great standard of service or room.
- regina (10/5): Our stay - Would make shower/ tub safer, a little slippery. Convenient walking to restaurants and shops. Parking and wifi included
- Andrew (6/5): - Property is old. Not worth the price. Not enough electrical outlets, not enough night table space. No one around at night. Needs upgraded for the price they ask
- John (10/5): - Clean, older hotel
- Mark (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Sedona Hilltop Inn. Such a charming place. The room was clean and so nice. Would definitely recommend.

with a great view.
- Mathew (10/5): - Super friendly staff. Nice room. Only thing was the bed was a bit stiff. But other than that great place to stay. Would definitely recommend.
- Dorothy (10/5): Great and beautiful renovated motel! Stay here - This was an excellent hotel with great service. Its renovated design blends beautifully into the Sedona red rocks around it. It’s a renovated older motel and still retains some vintage flair but with updated amenities and lots of art. Also the patio is beautiful. Walking distance to art, shopping, and tons of restaurants. We would stay here again.
- Suzanne (8/5): - Rooms are a little outdated by very clean and comfortable. Management was extremely nice.
- LARISA (10/5): - It's small but it has everything what you need. Awesome spot. Just be ready that its motel but good and very usable.
- Catherine (10/5): - This is in a great location and has a fabulous veranda where you can sit and enjoy the views. Art district is a block away with very good eating locations and beautiful art to view.
- Rikki (8/5): - While the property is dated, it is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. We loved the location: walkable to multiple restaurants and coffee shops. I would stay here again.
- Dianne (10/5): - The checkin here was a breeze. They make you feel like friends more than customers.just wonderful. The vjews are spectacular and the walking is fun. Right next to Tlaquepaqe center.

Room was clean and comfortable.
- Debra (10/5): - This hotel is in a great, convenient location. The bed was really comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Bathroom was kind of small, but overall a great value for the money.
- Lisa (8/5): - Amazing location for dining, hiking and Tlaquepaque. Fabulous views from the patio.

- Kristin (10/5): - Great location, very intimate, quiet in rooms, friendly staff! Planning to stay here again next time we are in Sedona.
- Dana (8/5): - Location is easy in and out
- Terri (10/5): - Loved this property!! It may not be the newest but it was immaculate, comfortable, clean, close to everything and I have never been treated better as a guest. At check-in I was taken to the room and all amenities explained and questions answered. I have never been to a hotel where this was done. Price reflects what you get. Lovely patio at end of the property for rest and a glass of wine. The artwork in the lobby and our room was very tasteful. Of all the places we stayed on this trip this is the one I would want to go back to.
- Diane (10/5): - The bed was the most comfortable experience we’ve ever had. Staff is awesome. Located in a great area and free parking
- Benjamin (8/5): - Super cute spot and great location!!
- Nancy (6/5): - Nice rooms
- Joan (10/5): - The property is in s great location, very clean and safe.
- gary (8/5): - A good stay
- Gail (4/5): - Property needs updating in the bathroom
- Jaime (10/5): - It was a good stay. Thank you.
- JOSEPH (8/5): - Xxx
- Andrez (10/5): - Close to plenty of dining options, clean, and nicely decorated.
- April (8/5): Good choice in Sedona - Nice spot with fairly large reno'd rooms and great views. Perfect outdoor patio that's begging for a bar! Walking distance to Tlaquepaque Shops.
- Nancy (6/5): - Gentleman at registration could have been a bit more friendly. My husband and I found him to be a bit condecending.
Hotel was quaint and had lovely retro decor feel to it.
We loved that the parking was right outside our room door. View outside our front window was very nice. room was very spacious.
Bed however, was lumpy and uncomfortable, it seems to have an old foam mattress. I had a lot of trouble sleeping on it. The heavy iron chairs was also uncomfortable, seat cushions thin and worn out. Bed and furniture needs updating. Comfort was hard to find in this room.
Price was a bit steep for an uncomfortable room. Not very likely we'd recommend or stay here again.
- Deanna (8/5): - It was clean but smelled a little funny. The furniture and bathrooms could use a refresh but it was comfortable. I liked that they had a large-ish refrigerator and a microwave.
The staff were friendly and helpful but they are not on the property overnight.
- javier (10/5): - The guy at the front desk, sorry don’t remember his name but we were there 5/1, he was super courteous and nice. Kuddos to him. He needs a raise.
- darren (8/5): - I was disappointed that I was unable to get ice, apparently the ice machine was turned off. It’s a small place that was located within walking distance of places to see.
- Toby (10/5): High bed - A convenient location. Clean nice room. But if your short the bed is extremely high and it was hard to get into. Im 5 ft. Otherwise no complaints.
- Renee (8/5): - Amazing location and they make it very easy to travel around the park.
- Jamie L (10/5): - Sedona Hilltop Inn has a cushioned 2 seater chair right outside each room...the perfect sunrise viewing spot for unexpected-broken-leg-can-not-hike travelers.
- Susan (8/5): - Beautiful views and a short walk to restaurants. Room was clean and functional. Happy to have a fridge in the room, too.
- ALBERTO (10/5): Super Pleasent Stay - The Hotel is an excellent choice, it is not too crowded, is clean, orgainized, it has hot water, air conditioned and heater too, comfortable bed, nice mountain views
- Robert (10/5): - The Lobby had nice decor
- Lisa (8/5): Clean room. No frills! - The room was clean and spacious. There was plenty of storage for clothes and luggage. Maid service everyday, which is not as common as it used to be. Not really a comfortable place to sit and only an end table available. Considering there was a microwave in the room, that seemed odd to me. Vending and ice machines were listed as amenities, but the ice machine was broken and the vending machine was just for bottled water. Was told I could walk to gas station on the corner or to the liquor store across the street for ice. The room did have a decent size refrigerator with a small freezer.
- Ceazar (10/5): Location (3x) - It was our anniversary, and the staff was kind enough to congratulate us with chocolates! Great location, and within walking distance from everything. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
- Andre (8/5): - The property was good, staff very friendly and helpful, room was clean. Location great, building a bit old you can hear the cars on the road and people.
- Sharon (10/5): - Spent one night at the property with 2 of our friends in an additional room. It was in the perfect location, right between the main drag of shops and restaurants and the Tlaquepaque shopping village. I would definitely stay at this property again while visiting Sedona. It's not fancy, but it has what you need (a comfortable bed, bathroom, coffee machine, fridge, free parking, and lovely staff) and is clean and convenient.
We didn't have time to visit a vortex while in Sedona, but walking through Tlaquepaque felt otherworldly and gave us a fantastic feeling of entering another time. It was great. Don't miss it.
- Robert (10/5): - This is probably the best location to stay when you are visiting Sedona. It's clean and comfortable and everyone we met working there were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic views!
- Cecilia (10/5): - The property was very nice, views from patio amazing, staff professional. The only inconvenience was that the ice machine was out of order.
- Tracy (10/5): - I don't know if the Sedona Hilltop Inn is new or not, but the state that the property and rooms are in make me think it is....meaning, really great condition! The bed was super comfortable, the shower was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful!
- Kara (10/5): - Great place to stay and great location!
- Hal (10/5): - Fantastic small motel on a hill with a great view, friendly staff, perfect housekeeping and lovely patio. Parking at your door.
- Mark (10/5): - Great view right from our room!
- Terry (10/5): - Affordable option in an expensive resort area.
- JEREMIAH (10/5): Quick stay between Grand Canyon & Phoenix - Perfect place to rest while exploring Sedona. The surrounding views are amazing and its situated right in town within walking distance to many shops, bars and restaurants. The room is nothing fancy but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked. If you like to lay in your room and be pampered it's probably not for you but if you're looking for a clean place to sleep in a perfect location at a fair price i think you'd be more than satisfied. We'd definitely visit again.
- Debbie (10/5): - Loved everything!
- Kathy (10/5): - Conveniently located.
- Amy (10/5): - Super helpful & polite staff. Loved how close yet quiet everything was.
- Aniruddha (10/5): - Fantastic experience at this location. The location is great with everything important at walking distance along with the Art district. Excellent views from the room, patio and the parking space. Actually parking is in front of the rooms with each room having a seating area in front of them.
The rooms are clean and tidy with all amenities. Bathroom was clean and we felt good staying there. The office closes off at 9 pm and reopens at 8:30 am. As we checked out before that, we had to leave our keys in the room.
We paid around $256 for one night and given the popularity of Sedona during spring and all high costs around, this felt justifiable. Overall the location and the views are king for this accommodation. A 5/5 experience.
- kristopher (8/5): - Very good pricing for being right outside uptown Sedona. Staff was very easy-going and the room was very big and clean.
Highly recommended especially if you’re on a budget.
- Robert (8/5): Great View - The location and view of the Inn was amazing. You can walk to so many different places to shop or eat. Very convenient.
The room was clean and very spacious and decorated.
The bed mattress was probably one of the worst I’ve ever slept on to be completely honest. Was the hardest mattress ever.
- Tomas (8/5): - Very basic for the price and no breakfast, but it is in Sedona center conveniently located to the core of the old Sedona.
- Jackie (6/5): - Ice machine was broken and the worker on duty didn’t offer much assistance when asked questions. Not enough light in the room.
- Gwendolyn (8/5): Not super posh/plush but wonderful location. - Built in the 70’s, this place is somewhat dated, but it suited our needs. The outside patio/porch was terrific was for sunrise/sunset and just to sit quietly. Its location-plus it had a guaranteed free parking spot for our rental car-was key. Staff (Kermit and housekeepers) were friendly and helpful.
- Susan (8/5): - The location was perfect to be within walking distance of Tlaquepaque and other restaurants and stores. Uptown Sedona was maybe a 6 minute walk.
The rooms were basic, but clean and very comfortable. The room had a sizeable mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.
I had read complaints about the lack of a working ice maker, but that was no issue. You can walk across the street to the Hideaway restaurant and get a cup of ice, or the liquor store to get a bag of ice.
The hotel was between the Ritz Carlton and a Red Roof Inn. If we go to Sedona again, we would happily stay here again.
- Kanako (8/5): - Everything else was great but there was one issue. We don’t know why but our room kept smelling like sewage.
- Denise (10/5): - Extremely well taken care of. Super cute, amazing location with killer view. Would highly recommend!
- Clarissa (6/5): - Inn was old but clean. Air conditioner was a window type in the bathroom area. Did not cool well. No ice machine and from 8 at night to 8 am no one on property. Upon check out the would not provide a receipt. Certainly centrally located but there were times you could not exit due to traffic. As a solo traveler I did not feel safe.
- Ron (10/5): - Excellent service. Beautiful views. Convenient location.
- Kelly (10/5): - Rooms clean. A location. Friendly staff.
- Alyson (8/5): Weekend getaway - Our annual Sedona getaway! The location of this hotel is unbeatable as you can walk to restaurants and Tlaquepaque.
The service was great. They check in each night before the lobby closed to make sure we had everything we need.
The beds are tempurpedic/tempurpedic style which isn’t my favorite but I know many people like.
It was nice to have parking in front of the room as well as a little couch out front to have a cocktail while soaking in the views. Unfortunately the ice machine was out of service during our visit, but there is a liquor store just across the road. There is a little road noise starting around 7:30 if you are a light or late sleeper, but nothing unbearable.
Overall a nice place to stay with a lot of pros.
It is an older hotel that has been renovated to look and feel newer. The location and price definitely make it one of the more logical stays during peak season.
- Anne (10/5): - Right next to the Art District and amazing restaurants. We loved this location! Also, great room with comfy beds and amazing sunrise views from every room! Highly recommend!
- Carol (8/5): Good location - Sedona Hilltop Inn was in a great location for shopping, restaurants, etc. It does not offer any food (although it had coffee in the room), and the ice machine was broken.
- Johnny (10/5): - Great views of mountains
- Robert (2/5): - Bed was terrible and too hard
- Jason (10/5): - Great location, easy to walk to shopping and dining. Would highly recommend.
- Mike (10/5): - Elegant, yet refined!
- Wilhelmus (8/5): - Property was excellent, we are simply not big fans of the constant traffic which accompanies a heavy tourist area such as Sedona.
- William (8/5): - Great property for the cost. It’s a firmer motel that has been tastefully decorated. Lots of square footage in the bedroom area. Bathroom could be a tad bigger as it was hard to close the door if you’re on the commode.
The one complaint I have is that their ice machine was broken and they told us go across the street and buy one at the liquor store. If you normally provide ice, and the machine is broken, you should make sure to have someone on property from somewhere else for your customers….. not tell them to go across the street and buy it themselves.
Would definitely stay here again!
- Jose (8/5): - The location is the best part of this hotel. The views outside the door are amazing and the Tlaquepaque shops are just a couple blocks away. It does get some traffic but I didn't really think it was too terrible. I'd stay here again next time I am in town.
- James (8/5): - The property was fine. My only issue was that the ice machine was out of order and I was told I could go across the street for a "bag" of ice. I only needed a few cubes for a drink. They should have told me this at check in. They could have had a cooler in the lobby with a bag of ice. There are not many rooms so it wouldn't have been a big deal.
- Renuka (10/5): - Convenient to everything around downtown
- SHAUNI (10/5): - I was only here for one night but would stay again.
- Doug (8/5): - Property is older but well renovated. Bed was hard (foam) but alright. Overall a nice place
- Donna (10/5): - Lovely motel . Exactly whatcwecwere looking for
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great room in a great location. Highly recommend!
- Jake Sanderson (8/5): - Fancy motel. Price reasonable for the excellent location. Don't expect any frills. But clean and comfortable room.
- Jordan (10/5): - I really like parking outside my door. The walkable access to shopping and dining. Liked the shared patio with excellent views.
- David (4/5): - We arrived early on an unusually cold afternoon. An early check-in was not possible, I was told, because the hotel has only one housekeeper (though I learned later that the rooms were not fully booked).
The best thing about the small room was the view of the mountain.
The main problem was that the sole source of heat in the room was a heater/AC unit in the bathroom at the back of the unit. Only by cranking up the heater to the maximum and wearing extra clothes could I be warm enough to read while looking out the window. The baseboard heater in the front of the room was no longer operational.
Los Abrigados at the bottom of the same hill offered much nicer and more spacious accommodations for the same price.
- Zachary (8/5): - Has great views of the red rocks. Very quiet. Has a great patio/balcony sitting area and easy walking distance to Tlaquepaque
- Lynn (10/5): Great location - The hotel was right in the center of town, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The room was quiet. The bed was a bit firm and the pillows were a bit soft for my taste, but that's a personal preference. I appreciated getting a call from the lobby each night, asking if i needed anything before they closed up. Would recommend!
