Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): Amazing place. Cant say enough about how beautiful the location is - Location is perfect. Absolutely stunning. Nothing. Just a pity the roads are so bad. Rosetta is the closest spar 31km away and it takes about an hr to negotiate the roads there unless you drive a hilux.
- Janine (10/5): Beautiful location and friendly hosts, had a excellent stay. - Beautiful location, so peaceful and relaxing. Lovely cottage and hosts really friendly, will definitely recommend.
- Anna Karolina (6/5): Very relaxing location - It was very quiet and the air was so fresh. The scenery and walks were amazing! We were given eggs and salad items from the garden which was a lovely touch! We took over an hour on the last stretch of our journey due to a road under construction (approx 30 km). We later learned there was a better route and there were no provisions nearby. We explained privately that the host could have given us this useful information prior to arrival but unfortunately the host has now missed this point and commented instead about our scratched car and factors beyond their control. Giving useful advice about how to arrive is directly in their control and missing it out spoiled our stay. Our friends needed to be persuaded to join us at their own risk due to this road and bring provisions with them.
- Kathy (9/5): Dream location if you're looking for a rejuvenating getaway! Comfortable and beautiful. - A very comfortable cottage, with all facilities needed - fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, braai facilities, covered outdoor area, comfortable beds, great shower! Beautiful views and incredible location. Friendly but not intrusive hosts :) Access road made for challenging driving for around 30km but through no fault of the hosts. Worth the drive - just be patient and go slow!
- Eatro (10/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): Peaceful, family getaway for our whole family - Beautiful scenery and very comfortable accommodation. Garden for our dogs and lovely walks. We really enjoyed the fishing. Nothing to fault, it was perfect

- Margo (10/5): Beautiful Kamberg - The scenery is beautiful. So serene. Our hosts were helpful, friendly and easily contactible.
- M__j__g (9/5): A farm stay away from technology near nature reserves. - A true farm stay away from TVs, technology and city life. If you want to be on a farm in your own a little home near the nature reserves, this is a great place to stay. The fireplace is effective and heats the common area. The nature reserves are fantastic and in driving distance. Like all places in that area, there are dirt roads and lots of potholes.
This may be a positive for people wanting to be away from the busy city: The Wi-Fi is true farm internet, 5 minutes on, 1 minute off, or worse when bad weather. There is no cellphone signal at all. All 3 of our SIM cards got zero bars. If you need to SMS, you have to drive up the road.
- Annette (10/5): It was a wonderful, peaceful holiday. We all enjoyed the stay, especially the dogs. - The huge fenced area for the dogs was amazing. Thank you for the farm fresh eggs that were waiting for us.
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Sam and Rich. They were contactable at all times and the communication was superb. The accommodation was very well equipped. The 30 km road leading to Kamberg Hideaway was full of potholes. A high clearance vehicle is a necessity.
- Venske (10/5): A spot where the hosts have crafted a little piece of paradise in the mountains. - This place is absolutely stunning. I felt safe and secure at all times while I was there with my dogs. The walks are enchanting, and the scenery is beautiful. The showers are fantastic, the gardens are meticulously maintained, and the house is spotless and well-equipped. The host is incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that everyone, including the dogs, has a wonderful experience.
- Samuel (10/5): Tranquility - Equipped with everything one needs None
- Calvin (9/5): Superb -
- Lizanne (10/5): Comfortable cottage with breath taking views. - The cottage is extremely well equipped with high quality linens and furniture. Everything we needed and more was available. The location is gorgeous and the perfect place to go if you are looking for rest and relaxation.
- Michele (9/5): A great comfortable and spacious cottage in a beautiful quiet part of the Drakensburg close to lots of Nature Reserves a - Beautiful quiet location. Well equipped, comfortable and clean accommodation. Fireplace and electric blankets for cold nights. The hot water kept switching off.
- Strydom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (10/5): Perfect. - Everything was really nice. Not one complaint
- Springbok20 (10/5): Well equipped cottage in an exquisite location - Well equipped cottage in an exquisite location. The surroundings and views were truly exceptional. Plenty to do in and around the area with some good options for hikes in the nearby Highmoor and Kamberg nature reserves, or quietly enjoy the serenity of your surroundings with some trout fishing on the property (though regrettably the trout were not biting this time round). Cottage had everything you require for a comfortable self-catering stay and hosts were always available to help with any requests. Highly recommended and definitely a place to return to for another visit. Roads in and around area a bit challenging if you not used to it, which was not so much a problem for us but still worth the effort given such beautiful location and amenities.
- Matthieu (9/5): A comforatble house in a farmers environment - Richard the owner was very helpful, the house is large clean and well equipped, located in a very natural environment.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Peppy (9/5): Beautiful and peaceful location. Well kept and neat resort. Host Richard was very helpful . -
- Anel (10/5): Excellent - The place is wonderful, comfortable and excellent. Please buy all your food before you leave a big town, there is no shops close by. Main bedroom own bathroom, other two bedrooms share bathroom with door in the middle Nothing not to like
- Prabashnee (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return , the air is so crisp and it was the most serene atmosphere - The hosts were excellent, everything was clean and the cottage was well equipped. Perfect when taking your pets with you , fully enclosed property so pets were safe. The property was perfect except that the roads getting there was not the best especially since we traveled through a storm , however leaving there we used an alternate route, be sure to enquire about this with your host, he was great with directions .
- Talita01 (9/5): amazing stay - beautiful accommodation with the most breathtaking views of the mountain and countryside. the host, Richard, was very accommodating and helpful. The owner thought of everything and small touches made the place wonderful to stay in.
would definitely recommend for a break from the city. the roads are a bit rough with potholes but it's a municipal problem to fix. we drove slowly with our sedan but would get a SUV next time.
- Salome (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Kamberg weekend - Great setting, was nice and quite, far enough from next cottage. Braai was too small, I would've preferred a built in braai. Also on first day there was no cleaning of house, I requested housekeeping for 2nd day so it was all good.
Also the road to the cottage was terrible, I'd suggest an SUV or vehicle with big tyre's.
- Bruce (8/5): Very good - The house was beautiful and clean. Very peaceful and wonderful to stay in. Getting there by road was a pain and took time but is do able as long as upu have patients. Road needs alot of maintenance
- Agandrin (10/5): The sound of silence - The majestic views and walks with my doggie.
The cabin was immaculate with every little luxury you can think of..

- Arlaine (10/5): Loved our visit - lucky enough to see the 2 day old piglets and enjoy beautiful walks, watch magnificent sunsets and jus - Beautiful walks, lovely clean accommodation, pet friendly and no loadshedding due to solar!
- Strydom (10/5): The BEST holiday ever! - My wife and I took our 4 dogs. We were blown away with this amazing place. We went in winter time, and enjoyed reading a book next to the fire. Our dogs enjoyed the walks everytime, and we have never experienced our dogs that relaxed. The hosts really try their best to give their guests the best experience ever!! The hosts are amazing people and you can even enjoy a nice chat with them. If you want a place to break away from the hustle of everyday life, and you want to relax, find yourself in nature... I strongly RECOMMEND this place! They are first on our list for a holiday in the winter! Thank you for an amazing time!!!
- James (8/5): Comfortable and clean well equipped in a superb location. - a clean and modern house, with a well equipped kitchen with very comfortable beds . Surrounded by a beautiful landscape in a quiet and serene environment. The gas system in the house was faulty so we found that there was no hot water in the mornings and the stove top didn't work properly which caused for frustration.
- Selina (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and well kept unit. Good facilities, immediate assistance with any requests. Heated blankets are huge comfort. A gas heater for the bedrooms might be nice.
- Jashmir (9/5): Overall our stay was awesome and we will definitely recommend this lodge to family and friends. - The location. Absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Some activities would have been nice. Also maybe an area for a Boma to enjoy the fire at night.
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional -

The cottage was beautiful, quiet, clean and beautifully located, we were able to walk around this magnificent farm, there is a swing bench on the bank of the dam on the property , it hosts an aray of bird life, which was lovely to be able to sit and enjoy We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet getaway. nothing

Beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds. Slept so well. Excellent hosts - loved the freshly laid free range eggs. Felt at home the minute we entered the cottage. I cannot think of a single thing to complain about.
