This was a fantastic B&B with very clean and modern facilities a 5 minute walk from the bus, train or ferry and the tourist centre. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, freshly cooked to order. • 8424076514b371d0e56f427b35561317 (7/5): Nice, clean updated rooms but not the best value for us. - Location is good in the sense that it is within easy walking distance to Split old town. The location of the hotel is nice as it is on older cobblestone street. Rooms are updated and clean. The lady at the breakfast was really nice and friendly. The breakfast was decent. Hotel is tough to locate using google maps and I had to walk around after parking to actually find the place. The parking area is ratty. You have to lug your bags up some stone stairs to get to the hotel from the parking area. When we arrived there was no one at the place to welcome us - you have to call to get the keys like an AirBnB. The hotel has energy saving lights so quite dark when you enter.
• Emily (9/5): Great location, very comfortable - Great location, in a cute, typical neighborhood just about a five-minute walk from the Eastern Gate of Diocletian's Palace. My room was on the ground floor, so no view, but it was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. They were flexible and allowed me to leave my luggage before my room was ready and then moved it into my room once it was, which made my arrival day easy. The ground floor room is a bit dark, because it only has one window that's fairly close to another building, but this didn't affect my comfort at all. (And if you're out and about most of the day anyway, you don't really even notice.)

The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was filling and a nice variety of food. The staff went above and beyond to look after us during our stay. It felt more like staying with family than strangers. It was a fantastic location as it was walking distance to everything we needed. We would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

• GrandTour13924819219 (4/5): Bad Experience, spoiling start of Split - They know how to spoil your holiday mood on arrival. Very Bad experience on checkin itself. Receptionist don't understand English properly. I myself run a travel company from 15 yrs ++ but here behaviour of staff talking over the phone is like I know everything and you don't know. For a kid of 4 yrs old, who don't need any extra bed, they told me to pay 70 Euros per night. I travelled to so many countries and cities but never it happened that Hotel charges anything for 4yrs kid except for breakfast. For Luggage also when I told I have 2 big suitcase, receptionist told me she can't do anything . Cold behaviour is something can't compensate even if rooms are good. I am also in service industry and if you behave like this with customer then it's not right. I will definately take this matter further with Tourism Department so that for future guest, they don't behave like this.

I would suggest a slightly raised bed so 2 open suitcases with contents can be pushed under bed and pulled out when needed. The existing bed was very nice and comfortable and would only need to be raised slightly.
• PeterD643 (10/5): A very pleasant stay - It is easy to see why this gets so many positive reviews as everything has a feeling of quality. Location is good, on a quiet pedestrianised street about 10 minutes walk from the ferry port, front and old town. Our room was clean, spacious and very nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, supportive pillows and plenty of room in the bathroom. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful too, particularly in helping to get my wife’s glasses mended. Breakfast is served outside in a garden room, which was a little chilly on the first day (there is an option to have breakfast in your room) and while the choice is not huge (understandable given there are only six rooms) the eggs and omelettes we had were beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. We had high expectations and were not disappointed.

After navigating our slight confusion about how to actually get to the hotel from where our uber dropped us off, everything was great. Fantastic location, just a few minutes’ walk into the Old City but without the Old City noise!We were able to get into our room in the early afternoon, and as other reviewers have said, the room was spacious, with a great bed, strong AC and shower! We were in room 105, which didn’t have a balcony, but we spent all day outside so we didn’t mind crashing inside at the end of the day. Plus, aside from the fact that we had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs, no one was above us so it was very quiet in the room. Breakfast was delicious and served outside on a lovely shaded patio. All the staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay at Balatura again if we’re lucky enough to visit Split again!

Wir haben einen der hoteleigenen Parkplätze für unser Mietfahrzeug genutzt; dieser befindet sich in 2 Minuten Entfernung vom Balatura. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet.

We stayed in room 106 and it was perfect. The room was spotlessly clean and the shower was fantastic. It was lovely to have a balcony to relax on after a busy day exploring Split. The breakfast is cooked to order and you submit your choice the day before. It was great that they had an actual toaster rather than them awful machines that never cook your toast right that you often find in larger hotels! As other reviews state it is in a pedestrian only zone however we found it easy enough to find and had no issue with getting BOLT taxi's to collect us just a short walk up the street and stairs. The location feels really safe and the street itself is really quiet which allows you to get a good nights sleep. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Split.

• Mark (10/5): Wonderful short stay! - We had a wonderful three night stay at Balatura. The hotel is a quick walk from old town but in such a quaint and quiet location. It is a small, family run hotel, which was great for us, as we were able to get quality rest without the noise of neighbors, music, doors slamming, etc. All of the staff was extremely kind and weren’t overbearing. Breakfast is ordered the day/evening before and while a small menu, worked out well for my wife and I. The parking is down a small side road in an open, gated lot. The hotel let us keep the key for the gate the entire stay. As a side note, paying for parking is separate and they only take cash - I had to go to the ATM during check out because we thought we could pay with card; not a big deal to us, as ATMs are close by. If we ever come back to Split, we will definitely stay here again!

• Eugene (10/5): - The property is very nice, beautiful rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was great. The location is convenient and walkable distance to everything. The only thing to be aware of is lack of parking on site. We spent about 1 hour circling the city looking for parking; we found a parking but at the end were charged 90 euro for the less than 24 hours. Be aware, but this is not a reflection on the property. We would recommend it to family and friends, and would come back ourselves. Thank you!
• sanjay (8/5): - It is very close to the city centre; A few minites walk to the ferry pier. Resturaunts and palace are close by. You just have to be ready to pull your luggage a few meters as the car cannot drive upto the property.

• Sarah (10/5): Benefit of a small, relaxed hotel, spotless and modern. - The daily room clean, fresh linen and staff were very helpful. The location is. Short walk from the old town. We were even allowed to bring a pizza back one evening, a bottle of wine for a quieter evening. Breakfast was perfect too. Nothing it was all fantastic!

The breakfast was good and able to order ahead so it’s ready when you want. Great, clean, and updated modern look. It’s difficult to find because the street it is on does not allow any car traffic

The staff are very attentive and do their best to make guests feel comfortable. I would stay here again if I was visiting Split, and would also recommend to friends. The location is very central, and self check-in (due to late arrival time) was a breeze.bExcellent experience.
• Andy123Northampton (10/5): Nice quiet area - The staff were all very helpful. The room was nice, clean with very comfy bed. The area was quiet so slept well. Eggs chosen the day before were nice along with cereals fruit and yoghurt. We would stay here again. We dined at hotel diana and bistro toc which were both a few minutes walk away and food was good.

• Mainemal (10/5): Enjoy your stay in Split Old Town! - Lovely, clean, comfortable room, great location for exploring Diocletian's Palace and the rest of the city, and delicious breakfast each day. Close to several good restaurants. Service was warm. welcoming and accomodating. Highly recommended.

• Petra (9/5): Schoon verblijf op rustige locatie dichtbij het centrum - Fijne schone locatie en zeer vriendelijke enthousiaste dame die ons hielp. Je loopt zo het centrum in maar toch rustige ligging. We hebben gebruik gemaakt van de airport taxi service en dat zou ik zeker ook aanraden zeer vriendelijke chauffeur die heel behulpzaam was. Kamer was wat donker en geen uitzicht maar dat wisten we vantevoren en was helemaal prima voor 1 nacht.
