- Heidi (8/5): An experience to remember - Perfect location at the top of the hanok village. Cafe attached to the room was lovely. A simple breakfast included in the price of toast, jam and seasonal, fresh fruit was very nice. The traditional mattress on the floor was not thick enough. We added our camping mat to it so we could sleep comfortably. It would be nice if breakfast service could start a bit earlier than 9am. But, we appreciate that for the price we got an all round lovely experience.
- Polonos87 (7/5): - Nice experience. Inside Hanok village.
Clean and tidy A bit small room
- Thawanrat (8/5): Great location great value - Great location Bathroom a bit small
- Chu3690 (10/5): -
- Sab (3/5): Unfriendly and helpful service - Location and the coffee upstairs The customer service with poor communication skills and not friendly and helpful. The room was very noisy during the day and during the night and we couldn’t sleep properly for two nights. Also the room was very small with a very small bathroom and you are overweight is very difficult to have a shower.
The neighbour was up speaking loudly until midnight and also the first night a child was crying 3/4am. Noise from the cafe upstairs with chairs and tables. The room is not soundproofed and this is the reason. We don’t suggest this place if you want to relax. There are many more Hanok around the village cheaper and authentic. For the rest the village and surrounding was fantastic and lots of artists and the mural village was a must to see.
- Petr (8/5): -
- Daiana (10/5): - Amazing place, traditional vibes, very well located !
- Eduardas (8/5): - Nice traditional rooms, definetly not cold at night even in winter. Breakfast was just a fruit, toast and coffee.
The matresses will be very slim, so sleeping was a bit rocky

- YONGPIL (9/5): -
- cecile (9/5): - L'emplacement
- nathalie (8/5): - The place is very nice , the breakfast although simple is a plus also includes a nice view from the cafe The road can be a bit noisy depending on where your room is, it was very hot in the room through the floor hearing but we luckily had the air conditioning
- Lee (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): We would would highly recommend a stay in this wonderful place. -

- Antje (8/5): Nice view from the cafe - The hanok is overlooking the hanok village. It has a nice cafe on second floor so that we could spend some time there.
The rooms are small and simple.
All sights of the hanok village are in walking distance. The futons are very thin which might be the tradition in Korea. However it was an uncomfortable night.
- Kevin Maschke (8/5): - Great traditional type of stay. Staying in a Hanok at least once is a must when visiting Korea.
The staff was super nice. I accidentally booked the wrong dates and was able to change these when we noticed at check-in.
The room isn't the biggest but you're not going to spend most of the time there either.
Lots of things to see in the village and everything can be reached on foot.
The breakfast is included and to start the day is more than enough. The futon (bed) isn't the most comfortable, but for 1 or 2 nights it's fine.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Joseba (9/5): -
- Amani (7/5): -
- David Janssen (9/5): - Super cozy
Amazing location in the hanok village and easily reachable Sink shower that you see a lot in korea.
- veronique (7/5): -
- Younsu (8/5): Good value for money and good location - Affordable price and good location. Room size is small for family
- Birgitta (5/5): Passable - The futons are extremely thin.
- Amahle (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (8/5): Perfectly located traditonal sleep. - Located in an extremely great part of jeonju, the cafe above was lovely and very welcoming. Walkable distance to the village. Room was clean and comfortable. There was a small leak in the bathroom but it didnt disturb our stay.
- Karla (8/5): Amazing Korean Hanok - Excellent location. Good Korean experience. Lack of a small seat or chair in the bedroom. No place to organize my stuff.
- Rossella (10/5): Totally recommended - This Hanok is located right in the Jeonju Hanok village, close to all points of interest and restaurants.
It looks spectacular, it is clean and it offers a simple breakfast. Wifi is fast and the rooms quiet.
You are provided with a futon bed, towels, water, toothbrushes, toothpaste and bathroom slippers. We did not know how to assemble the futon bed :D
A little explanation could have been helpful, but we managed in the end!
(Not a dislike, but info that travellers may need.) If you are staying in traditional Korean accommodation for the first time, be aware that bathrooms have "wet showers" and no wardrobe, although this is true for many places around the country, not just this one :)
- Lim (7/5): Good -
- Ulrich (8/5): Very nice Hanok, perfectly located! - We spent two nights at this wonderful Hanok. The location is perfect and you can enjoy a very good view above the Hanok village. Communication in advance via Booking.com with the owner was perfect! The rooms are not equipped with beds because you sleep on the ground traditionally. For young people like our daughter no problem, but for older ones like us (56/58) this was quite a challenge! The breakfast consists only of toast, marmelade, tomatoes and bananas with coffee / tea and orange juice. A little bit more variety would be nice.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Great location. Clean and tidy
- Shirelle (8/5): Lovely building right where you want to be! - Great location and beautiful building right in the heart of the hanok The staff were a little short. While we knew it would be basic and traditional, it would have been good to get large towels and a few more ‚hotel-like‘ inclusions like tea/ coffee (even in the kitchen would have been fine)
- Angel (8/5): Beautiful, Clean, Unique Experience - Absolutely beautiful building, and the owner meticulously keeps it clean. You can clearly tell pride of ownership! Only thing to bear in mind is thin walls, which is the traditional style. In most cases, probably it's okay. However, nothing (not even earplugs) will save you from loud houseguests. Even bearing this in mind, I still recommend a night or two stay here.
- Leonor (8/5): - Rooms are tight for a family of 4. Location is great, but the hotel is hard to find. Clearer directions and parking options would be really helpful as there is not available parking at the property.
Breakfast is very limited, but the cafe facilities are very nice.
- Delia Gemma (8/5): - Good position
- Byung Kuk (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cosy One Night Stay - Cosy small room for one-night stay. More suitable for backpackers. Would be better if can provide kettle for hot water in the room.
- Juanita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wiktoria (10/5): Exceptional - Small room in traditional Korean housing with great location and modest breakfast option. The traditional floor heating system in the room was a very good experience especially when you are sleeping on the floor! Great experience~
- Camille (9/5): Superb - The hotel makes the hanok experience complete.
The location is great, the view from breakfast is the best way to start the day!
The owner is very kind, breakfast includes toast, fruit, orange juice and coffee.
For those who require a plush mattress and soft bedding, this is the only caveat. The sleeping situation is very traditional, they are floor mats essentially, so I would only book this if you’re interested in a completely Korean experience and can forgo a tad of the usual “western” comforts for it.
- Ram (7/5): Good - Beautiful building and located inside hanok village and easy to access. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Tiny room, mosquito trap door was not working. Extremely tiny washroom.
- Heungjae (7/5): Nice Hanok stay in Jeonju - Beautiful building at the top of Hanok village, coffee shop with the view overseeing the whole town. Kind and responsive host. Futon bed could be a little bit thicker to sleep on.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Beautiful recreated hanok building, nice second floor views, easy to find and close to everything but away from tourist core. Included breakfast and coffee was a good touch. Mattress was on the thinner side, but this might have been the authentic experience. Hips did hurt a little after sleeping on the hard surface.
- Christie (9/5): Great. - Very traditional. Could be a better breakfast.
- Mfvictor (7/5): Good -
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saad (10/5): Exceptional - Easy to access as near to bus stop and the rooms is very comfortable with the heating floor. Would recommend this stays to other.
- Deborah (7/5): Good -
- Adeline (7/5): Recommended a Hanok experience - The location and access to the Hanok Village are exceptional. The Hanok experience is exactly what we wanted. Being prepared to share a small space and understanding how to live with minimal luxuries is the Hanok experience . The information center is a few doors down from Laon Cafe. They are very helpful and it is free, best to ask about any festivals and restaurant recommendations.
The people are kind and considerate just ask We would have appreciated more information about cleaning our room and where and who emptied the bathroom rubbish. This could easily be added to the information notice currently on the wall. The Booking Hotel information is misleading, suggesting their was a shared kitchen facility available. I hope this assists future travelers
- Vilmayra (8/5): Very good - The location was quite convenient, very easy to reach. the room is small, but for us it was comfortable. the house was very clean with a nice view.
No kettle to heat the water. Breakfast was bread, coffee, juice, banana and apple.
The owner could be a bit more friendly and not so rude.
- Henrike (10/5): - Nice staff, overall pleasant experience
- Min (7/5): Good location and neighborhood felt very safe, friendly approachable staff - Location was fantastic, cafe upstairs was very cute, floor clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we couldn't work out how to adjust the underfloor heating and got very hot, it was too late to call anyone to help so just had to put up with it unfortunately, perhaps some basic written instructions would be good for next time?
- Jessica (9/5): Really nice and comfy - This was a great experience. Location is really nice and close to everything. Really authentic. Raon is really nice and helpful. I definitely recommend!
- kwang (8/5): - very good
- Frank (10/5): - The Laon Hanok Gguljam is a great place to stay. It is walking distance to the major attractions. Breakfast is offered in a separate room. You have to prepare it yourself as usual in Korea. You carry your tray to your room and return it after breakfast. Then you have to wash up your dishes. The staff is friendly. The even drove me to the station when I left.
- Monika (2/5): - Called to check in - patron said no English and hang up, had to get staff at our Seoul hotel to call them on our behalf.
Weather was warm but the underfloor heating was switched on full making sleeping the in the room impossible.
Security on front door was via keypad _ security on side door consisted of a spoon to hold the lock shut and nothing else.
We were there for 3 nights - bin provided for the toilet waste was never changed/emptied.
Looks good on pictures but reality is somewhat different :(
- Ck (4/5): - Tiny room with tiny bathroom.
Bad smells around, lots of mosquitoes there.
