Jutta (8/5): Das Zimmer mit Balkon war neu und sehr schön. - Nach anfäglichen Schwierigkeiten wurde alles innerhalb 24 Stunden gelöst. Die Hellhörigkeit der benachtbarten Zimmer. Ich musste bis spät in der Nacht die Gespräche meiner Nachbarn mit anhören. Bis ich aufgestanden bin und die Nachbaren darauf hin gewiesen habe. Die alle sehr verständnisvoll waren. Auch die Bauarbeiten waren nicht von Vorteil.

Dina (10/5): Loved it! Would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend - I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It was perfect for us, This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it and will continue to stay here. The room was super clean and modern. I mean so clean that there was Not a single bug and not a single fuzz of dust, it was spotless and they gave us more than enough toiletries and towels all the time we asked. Plenty of beds, plenty of balconies, the environment is private and surrounded by trees and quiet and nice. The staff are super friendly and helpful for all types of requests and questions. The front desk were kind to make photocopies and print important documents for us and we also had an emergency (sick family member) and the hotel helped us out by providing medicine and contacting the pharmacy for us, etc. They were beyond kind and gracious and if you are going to Egypt and want an apartment type of environment, this is the place for you! Coffee shop and restaurants right downstairs, easy to call uber rides and order in anything you want through the ordering apps. Very convenient on many levels! The price was too high. It cold have been more reasonably priced but it worked for us,

Sally (7/5): Good - front desk was very helpful and kind and patient - Mr Ahmed. Ride from Cairo airport to the hotel was excellent - Taher. Something off with Air conditioning. Initially set too cold for me; I was unable to adjust it down. Eventually it gave off a dank, musty, moldy smell. I called and a technician was sent up, but to him it was fine. Women have better noses than men. I finally figured how to turn it off altogether. I am sensitive to cigarette smoke and room smelled smoky to me. I realize impossible to control what guests do, but smoke lingers in the drapes and walls. I had requested a non smoking room.

Super clean, and super nice modern feel. The staff was professional and courteous. The location was great with three or four nice cafe/restaurants nearby (less than one minute walk). The internet was weak, slow, frequently timed out, and never saves or allow you to save any part of login credentials. It was bothersome enough that I turned it off and just used cell data instead.

Would not stay again, despite the good location. - Good location in Maadi with restaurants and walkable access to shops, spacious suite, if we’d actually been able to access the full suite. Staff was bizarrely rude and unfriendly. Wouldn’t let my husband in, locked the doors to 2 bedrooms in our suite and only unlocked one when I asked them to. No visitors allowed up to see the room (their loss as my friend who is a travel agent was interested in seeing firsthand what he would recommend to clients - left a bad taste and he’ll never bring clients there). No basic amenities like tissues, toiletries, etc. Room was old, bed was very uncomfortable and outdoor noise came through clearly - they should have offered earplugs. WiFi was an additional charge each day, shower was very dirty, there was a kitchen but no utensils for eating. The front desk staff didn’t want to let me bring my key with me outside the hotel. Very odd stay - it was actually very ‘Egyptian’ in terms of a rather authoritarian ‘take what you get’ attitude, but westerners will be disappointed.

Daniele (7/5): Good overall experience but avoid the 8th floor - The hotel staff was very helpful and available trying to meet my needs. The Maadi area is a green oasis in Cairo, where you can peacefully walk. There is also a metro station nearby the hotel. But taxi will stay as the main option for travelling. Lots of elegant restaurants and cafe in this neighborhood. The hotel property responded to my request to stay in a renovated room, which I made a few days before my arrival. The only negative is that they moved me to a very nice studio on the 8th floor, right below a restaurant on the 9th floor (not related to the hotel property). This restaurant (Estro a Sicilian Rooftop) starts working around 6:45 in the morning and closes after 1 in the morning (that is deep night). During these two critical times, very early in the morning and very late at night, they proceed to clean and prepare the place by moving a lot of furniture (tables, chairs, etc.) resulting in a lot of noise. I first tried to resolve this issue through the property management, but to no avail. Second, I went to speak to them and received an apology and assurance that they would stop making noise. Unfortunately, this only happened on the last day of my stay.
UKtraveller054 (10/5): Excellent value hotel in the heart ❤️ of Maadi - This is a great hotel. The rooms are big and clean. It is probably the best value hotel in Maadi. The reception area and lifts are not great but the room itself was brilliant. Cleaning staff were excellent. The hotel is on street 18 which is great for Degla and Sarayat. An easy walk to Road 9. All the staff were friendly. Right next door is an Ovios restaurant where you can get breakfast. I loved sitting out on the balcony. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Peter (8/5): - This is a great hotel and unbelievable value for money. A wonderful location with easy access to Sarayat and Degla. There was only one negative, there are strictly no visitors to rooms day or night. Normally this is not a ploblem but on this visit i was ill. To meet friends i had to leave the hotel. To solve this i switched hotels mid-visit. This is a personal circumstance and i understand the hotel rules. I would recommend this hotel provided you understand the rules

John (8/5): Excellent value for money if you are doing business in or near the 5th District or New Cairo, - The "room" was in fact a 2 bedroom apartment with a huge living room. The furnishing was not on a level of an international branded hotel, but adequate and comfortable. The property appears as if it is a converted apartment block and as such the rooms are really the apartments, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The staff are friendly "nothing is too much trouble" and the Ovio Café next door to the property will give you the best breakfast you could get anywhere in the world, at a quarter of the price. Very pleasant and up market neighbourhood (by Cairo standards) and quiet. Truly recommendable

Michael (10/5): Comfortable and secure, surrounded by restaurants, and a fabulous staff - The Royal Maadi Hotel is our favorite place to stay in Maadi. The location is ideal, surrounded by a variety of restaurants and within walking distance of every convenience. The rooms are massive! Clean, comfortable, well-lit, all the appliances working, secure, and quiet. Finally, the staff are so pleasant and accommodating! It always feels like coming home. The mattresses are harder than I like, but still we had very restful nights. Everything else was perfect.

Where i stayed, the room was old fashioned with hardly functioning aircon. However the problem was fixed quickly. If you are looking for renovated rooms, apparently you have to book in one of the higher floors. Overall a positive experience.

The wifi is weak and frequently disconnects. The furnishings are old and worn-out while the sofas are really uncomfortable.

OLEKSIY (8/5): - Everything was amazing. Place was clean, service was great , the personnel and staff were top notch :) the only negative is that wifi was practically non existant, and for a business traveler this caused a bit of issues until i got a roaming data pack from a european provider
Richard (6/5): Overall a decent place! - I requested breakfast to be delivered at 5:30am, and it was delivered at 5:29am, right on schedule. 2 boiled eggs, bread, cheese, and honey. Very happy they were able to accomodate my early morning departure needs. Not the most amazing breakfast, but probably pretty typical for Cairo. I paid $5 USD extra for the breakfast. I felt that $100 USD was a little high for the place. The hotel was decent, but not fancy in any way. The room was huge though - much bigger than I needed - it was a one bedroom apartment with a mini kitchen, and two balconies, so perhaps that justified the price.
