Guest Reviews
- Mark (4/5): My stay was tolerable, but not great. - The location was perfect for my purposes. The clerk let me check in early. The refrigerator was great. Bed was comfortable. My room smelled and I was unable to make a difference even with the air conditioning on. The coffee maker did not work. The grout in the bathroom tile was black. No bathmat for the shower.

- Kirby (7/5): The owners are very nice, the rooms are well kept. It’s a good place to stay at a fair price. - Well kept. Cozy For the value there isn’t much to dislike

- Kari (1/5): - The staff was friendly. We booked the motel not expecting anything spectacular. We thought it would be a fun, roadside motel that matched the Bavarian theme of Frankenmuth. Unfortunately, the room had not even been attempted to be cleaned after the last guests. Beds had very clearly been slept in, blankets thrown up, pillows disorganized. The floor was dirty. Drawers were left opened. A random office chair sat in the middle of the room, no desk to be found. Old food was left in a fridge that had been turned off, and smelled rancid. The top of the fridge had salt and food on it. The bathroom had dirty towels on the floor and sink, garbage on the shower floor and dirty adult diapers in the garbage can. All of the garbage cans in the room were full. If thw room had been cleaned, it would have been fine. It really looked like someone else was staying in the room. It was so bad we left to get a different hotel.
- Wolodymyr (7/5): It was a nice enough room but the wifi was poor and was turned off early. - WI-fi was poor and went off early.
- Shawn (6/5): -
- Randy (1/5): Hotel was located in a pretty creepy area next to a burned out bowling alley. Bates Motel, CREEPY! - Nothing. There was NO breakfast provided. The AC worked but the AC remote did not. The TV worked after figuring out the two remotes without any instructions. Guy walking around in the parking lot wearing a yellow slicker and it wasn't raining. Put you in the mind of the slasher movies The Bates Motel. Water damage on the walls near the floor. Mirrors and windows dirty. Blinds very dusty and dirty. No light in the shower. Barh towels were sketchy, went to Meijer and purchased our own. Entrance door would stick and the locks were hard to operate. No ice machine. NO amenities at all. Room had a closed up smell. Bed was very hard. The motel did not look like the pictures provided on the web site. The motel was very old and very much needs updates and repairs.
- Julie (6/5): Clean, comfortable stay. A little upgrades and it would be great - It was clean, comfortable, and quiet The shrubbery around the place was overgrown. And there wasn’t a person when I left so I just left the key on the desk. Everything was outdated but it was clean and a nice place to stay. I would have liked free breakfast also
- Geri (8/5): Would stay again. - A little quirky- throwback to the old motor lodges from the 1950s. Clean, comfortable and affordable
- Ann (3/5): - n/a The wall had a large hole and mold from water damage. The shower had mold, not clean.
- Scott (7/5): It was Ok - Can't beat the price and it was clean Wall are not insulated good, could hear woman yelling all night and saying every other word Fuck
- Luden (10/5): Exceptional service - The location, the staff and the room was cozy
- Renea (8/5): -
- Angel (8/5): -
- Amy (10/5): - Room was clean and beds were very comfortable.
- Jodi (8/5): - The location was excellent in what we wanted to do
The staff was very friendly and when there was issues they were good and trying to make it right. The bathroom mirror when steamed up said kill you. There was another guest that was smoking pot in a room close to us.
- charles (1/5): Horrible - The location Carpet was so stained, I would not walk on it without shoes on. The furniture looks like something I would of thrown in the dump. The shower curtain looked to be new back in the early 70's. I felt like I could take home bugs so kept bags on top of dresser. The bathroom so little had to turn sideways to shut the door! Heat and air was most likely put in in the 70's.
This could be a nice place if someone would gut it and do some updates. We left at 5:00am hoping not to get bugs! I was not able to shower, looked to old!
- Ranee (8/5): - Easy to find, clean and quiet. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable.
- Debra (9/5): New managers were very friendly. Very willing to please. Nice young couple. Price is right. - Easy parking with trailer. Large room. A little outdated but not really important to me as long as clean. Very small bathroom 😕
- Ling (8/5): Short and sweet. - The beds were clean and comfy. Good price!
- Irwin (10/5): - Amazing service and the couple that is running the hotel are the most amazing people I've ever meet very understanding about our situation we had down here. Very helpful people and they were wonderful with our dogs and kids....
- Basinger (1/5): Horrible experience. - Nothing. I cancelled and was still charged 154.44. You could have taken my cancellation without charging me $154.44
- gary (7/5): - Large clean room comfortable beds Older motel no ice machine o
- Jose (8/5): - Managers friendly. Room clean
- Frank (1/5): - The BED was HARD & The FRAME of Bed Protruded Out from under mattress which Ran into leg & Stubbed Toe Quite often ,
Bathroom Shower Was Dirty on Tile Floor Corners & THE HANDICAP RAILING FELL OFF WALL WHEN LEANED ON FOR SAFETY as TO NOT FALL IN SHOWER... FRONT DESK ATTENDANT JUST BRUSHED OFF TO RESPONSIBLITY OF SAFETY GRAB BAR COMING OFF WALL & SAID OH WE WILL TAKE A LOOK AT...YEAH RITE...
- Halsne (7/5): -
- Theresa (7/5): - The location was perfect, within a 10 minute drive to Frankenmuth, close to restaurants and gas stations, great space to walk your dog TV never worked, many people went to the office to complain, does not make up the bed, leave clean towels, or leave more coffee for the next day
- Michelle (2/5): I would not stay here again - The only good thing is the location The first thing we did was go to the store and buy bleach to clean the mold in the shower. The room was smelly, musty, the shower was covered in mold, there were no curtains to block any light coming in from the streetlight in the parking lot, and the bathroom window had no lock.
- Geyer (5/5): For the price it was good. - The room was clean, bed and bathroom clean. just older and needed a little upkeep. No ice machine, TV gave us a little trouble
- Raymond (2/5): - Reasonable Poorly maintained
- Wells (3/5): -
- Kelly Marie 0417 (1/5): $hit h0le is too good nice of a description - Nothing The loud banging going on all night kids partying mold rotten walls. Outdated everything.
- Denise (2/5): - Was not clean...tv didn't work..no power..no lights...no service
- Joseph (6/5): - This is a relatively clean property but very dated. Most everything needs updating. Individual who checked me in and assisted with getting the TV and Internet working was very polite and helpful.
- Beshears (2/5): We did not stay there - The location was exceptional We pulled on to the location expecting to see a nice clean motel, and we DID NOT.
The building was run down. Needs some paint or tore down… the office had a blind that was broken. We seen this all from sitting in our car . So we turned around and left! We DID NOT stay there.
- Janine (1/5): Cheap and nasty - Nothing smells like death Absolutely nothing positive about this place
- Carrie (2/5): - The hotel was in poor repair and I found bed bugs.
- Ilya (8/5): Good - room size and cleanliness Very small and low toilet
- Jacqueline (6/5): - Person that checked us in was very nice, found me a phone charger, was very pleasant.
Did not like abandoned property next door and there was nothing around there. It was pretty clean but very old and staining in the shower that looked like mold (not sure if it was), none of us used the shower.
Ok to sleep and leave, but we won't go back.
- Thomas (3/5): More like a $25 to $30 motel, no bedbugs so that was a plus - There was no breakfast Price, rooms are extremely outdated, shower moldy, spider webs and bugs all over entry doorway
- Morgan (7/5): Good -
- Orbe (10/5): - Ok
- Moore (8/5): Very good -
- Milanfarmer (8/5): Very good - quiet and comfy. need to attend to grounds upkeep
- William (6/5): Pleasant - This is a very old facility and was not up to date. Need a little TLC.
- Mandalyn (8/5): Great budget option for big families - It's nothing fancy- no pool no breakfast no gym -but we weren't looking for that. For a bigger family, the triple room is great; we've got 5 kids and for most places that means 2 rooms, but we fit doubled up here with baby in a pack n play. If you're looking to head to Frankenmuth or Birch Run on a budget and really just need a place to sleep and shower this is perfect- we stayed 2 nights for a fraction of the price for one night anywhere else in the area. Really appreciated that the deadbolt didn't even have a keyhole on the outside- gave us peace of mind for security, especially with our door on the back side of the motel. Air conditioner is LOUD and woke me up at night a few times, but none of the kids noticed so no biggie. Couple cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom but no bugs!
- Mary (6/5): - The television didn’t work. There was mold in the shower.
- Rick (2/5): - Do not walk, run from this place. It was so bad that I didn't even stay the night . I managed to book another hotel down the road. We stayed there 15 minutes before I decided it was too disgusting to make it through the evening
- Charles (7/5): Good -
- James (6/5): - Check in was not smooth. The desk attendant was not even on the property and we had to wait about an half hour total to check in. I love the old fashioned feel of this property, but this also means the rooms are not sound proofed. We could hear all the noise next door! Some renovations have been started but much work still needs to be done to improve this motel.
- James (4/5): - Very old horrible mattresses. Hasn't changed anything since probably 1970
- Bradley (8/5): Just Right - Quiet little motel just outside of town. Just what we needed.
- Brenda (5/5): Passable - Requested a receipt, never got it. No daily cleaning, cheap toilet paper, dripping faucet -- very annoying and very dated inside rooms and very shabby outside.
- Karr (8/5): I hope the owners keep making improvements. - This mid-century modern hotel is on the tipping point of being a really nice stay. It was clean, quiet, and just what I needed. Just a place to sleep between events. I was pleasantly surprised to find a coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator. Which had I known, I would’ve been better prepared and brought snacks. As it was, the McDonald’s is close by. Great hot water pressure in the shower, another pleasant surprise from normal when I stay in these small hotels. The bathroom is tiny, but has everything you need. And again…have paid a lot more for hotels that were not that clean. The pink tiles, and the furniture were perfect mid-century modern, and an update of the style of blinds, shades, hotel duvet/comforter type bedding and hard surface flooring, would’ve equaled a hotel I stayed at in another state and paid triple the amount for. The potential is there.
The bed could’ve been a bit softer, but it didn’t stop me from sleeping. And there was no Internet but I was prepared for that and used my laptop and personal hotspot to stream movies.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - I had to leave . T V not working in two different rooms No heat in first room. Second room the heater was deafening and smelled awful. I had to demand a refund and leave and drove 3 and half hours back home and cut my trip short a day.
- Charles (10/5): - It was a grwat stay, the only thing is we wished the air conditioner worked. It got way to hot in the room for us to sleep. But we also understand it is under new management and they are working on fixing everything. We will for sure be staying there again.
- Christina (9/5): Superb - Price Glummy
- Chris (8/5): Enjoy the room and quiet also all ground level rooms come every year and will continue - Heated floors, closeness to everything Bright light outside of window all night
- James (7/5): Good -
- Dezirae (1/5): Bad - My daughter got bitten by ants that infested the room and they left welts on her. When asked for a refund they said they couldn’t help
- Angela (1/5): never again - ants and tons of mold in the unclean bathroom, the whole room wasn't vacuumed and had an unpleasant odor
- Geoffrey (9/5): Great value and experience - Easy access/ friendly One room warm too warm.
- Peter (6/5): Got what we paid for - 3 star motel - Needed inside touch-ups. Difficult to completely close tap in washroom. Difficult to open/close front door. Difficult to regulate temperature
- Debbie (5/5): Passable - Beds were comfortable. Location great to get to Frankenmuth. Staff very friendly. The shower was not clean. Wash cloth left in shower from previous guest. Mold on shower walls. Fridge did not work. No extra toilet paper
- Storm (10/5): A room was comfortable and private. - I love that the room had 3 beds, it fit perfect for our group. The room was a bit dated, however the new owners stated they are in the process of remodeling. I can't wait to see what it's like when we come back next year.
- Jodi (8/5): Very good -
- Lori (8/5): Very good -
- Vicky (1/5): Bad - NOTHING!!!! WHEN WE CHECKED IN AND WENT TO OUR ROOM, IT SMELLED SO BAD I WAS FEELING PHYSICALLY ILL!! IT GAVE ME A HEADACHE AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO VOMIT!! WE CHECK THE BEDS FOR BUGS AS MY DAUGHTER SAW ONE ON THE CHECK-IN WINDOW. WE IMMEDIATELY LEFT THE ROOM, PUT THE KEY IN THE DOOR AND LEFT TO FIND A ROOM THAT WAS CLEAN AND NO BUGS!! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET MY MONEY BACK AS THIS WAS THE WORST MOTEL ROOM I HAVE EVER BEEN IN!!!!
- Aileen (10/5): Comfortable and accommodating - Nothing everything was up and beyond our requests best stay away from home that I have ever had the staff made sure us ladies were comfortable and most importantly safe
- Renea (9/5): Superb -
- Loretta (7/5): Good -
- Ginger (3/5): Poor -
- Pasternak (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (3/5): Poor - Location was nice, staff was friendly and courteous construction around facility, things in room wasn't working, just very old place. maybe after renovation maybe it'll be better
- Wesley (5/5): Good location and room was clean. - Location Older motel. Outside run down. Room decor old. Plunger in sink not working. Maintenance was lacking.
- Lacey (6/5): - not recommended for stay. They also charged my room at 12pm before we even got there (check in was at 1pm) and it wasnt supposed to be charged till we gor there. No table by bed. No clock or phone in room. Hotel needs many updates. And no liquid soap in room to wash hands only bar soap. .
- Elaine (8/5): - Nice comfortable. Liked that it had 3 beds. Old Hotel. Clean.
- Jacob (2/5): It was the most expensive of all the motels we stayed in yet it was the worst. - There was none The room was dirty, there was mold in the bathroom
- Anita (4/5): Disappointed and uncomfortable during our stay for security reasons. - Location was close to I-75 and away from the traffic of downtown Frankemuth, about a 10 minute drive to town. The room seemed clean, no dust, bugs or cobwebs. The bedsheets were clean and had a strong smell of laundry detergent but much too strong of a scent for us. One thing we noticed checking in was the sign saying there is no refund once check-in is completed. It might be a good idea to see the room before signing and paying in case the room isn’t to your liking. If you make a reservation online, cancellation is midnight the day before your arrival. We made a last minute reservation so cancellation wasn’t an option for us. In hindsight we didn’t need a reservation there were only 2 rooms occupied, including ours. We chose this location due to its price point and other reviews because of a last minute change of plans while traveling.
It’s obvious this is an old motel but our king bed room was in desperate need of maintenance. If esthetics are important for you, this motel might not be a good choice.
As other reviews stated, the bathroom is very small and our door didn’t close tight.
The heat was off when we arrived and it took 6 hours to get it to a comfortable temperature. Luckily we headed into town so were out of the room as it heated.
There was a space next to the wall A/C unit that had been patched badly.
The baseboards were scuffed and dirty, the window blinds were dirty, the lamp shades were dirty.
After we went to bed we couldn’t see an active light on the smoke detector which was a concern.
There were tall bushes between the parking area and the sidewalk to the rooms hindering sight out of the room which concerned us. There was very bright lighting in the parking area though.
As other reviews said, the location is hard to find at night, their lighted sign at the road didn’t work nor did the solar light pointing to it.
- Allen (8/5): Very good -
- Bernard (9/5): Superb - very spacious room. 2 chairs and a rolling table Bathroom was very small. I guess the spacious room comes with a trade off.
- Andrew (10/5): Great quiet place to stay - The room was clean, check in was a breeze. This was exactly what we needed. we came through town late and just needed a place to lay our heads and they deliver. The stay was quiet in. an exceptional room especially for the price. Will be returning soon! We had zero complaints.
- David (10/5): Perfect for what we needed! - Cute, quaint, clean, convenient great value exactly what we needed Blinds needed work. Sheets a bit rough. But we slept well
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Patton (6/5): The place is a clean place to stay, showers are small but good water pressure with reasonably priced - The price Very outdated
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Heidi (4/5): - The grounds are not maintained, the building and furnishings are old. Patches on room ceiling. Saw mold on the bedroom wall. The woman cleaning the rooms was very kind. The man checking people in was not very welcoming.
- Walter (3/5): Poor - The location was convenient and check in was quick. The room was clean. The room has a mini refrigerator. The property was very run down and not maintained. The room was very outdated that normally would not mind however the bedspreads, curtains, carpet, wallpaper and headboards are just too old and worn. The bathroom is too small and the shower ceiling leaks. There were small flies in the bathroom and room window.
- Young (8/5): I was very satisfied with my stay here - Very easy to find, the room was very clean and the accommodations were very comfortable. I would definitely stay again
- Dan (5/5): Passable -
- debra (8/5): - The owner was mowing and ended up throwing rocks and hitting our vehicle. Upon checking out the older man came to the window with what looked like sleeping clothes. And had a wifebeater shirt on, was very inappropriate for a buisness.
However as in past reviews they stated that it was dirty but we did not find that to be an issue. It was clean and well maintained although it does need to be updated. I would stay again in a pinch. Being as it is out of town quite aways.
- Brown (2/5): Very poor -
- Monika (6/5): Pleasant -
