Natalie (3/5): Insulted, offended, absolutely shocking. - The room was better than expected after seeing the reception and the state of the other areas. It had obviously been refurbished. No food available after seeing it advertised as serving food, we were then told by reception we didn’t see that because it WAS being renovated but they ran out of money! The lift was out of order and was told to just use my legs to walk up the stairs, even though I am disabled! Was told we are not allowed to eat in our room so would need to eat the dirty reception area. This hotel is clearly being used as emergency accommodation by the council with drug users living here long term so the reception team may have a hard time, still no excuse to speak to paying customers unaware of this - like we have been forced to stay and should be grateful for a roof over our heads.

Milk was off and curdled. No wifi. Lift not working. No plug for bath. Filthy under the bed and bed sheets were dirty. Told to move to a 3rd room if we wanted to wash with 3 children.

Devon (1/5): Absolutely vile hotel. - Leaving. The receptionist is constantly unmanned. When you phone them they answer the phone half asleep at 11am. He phones you at 5pm to tell you he won't let you check in if you're later than 10pm after you tell him you'll be there within the hour. They cloned my card and I've been dealing with action fraud and the bank since because they make you pay the security deposit with card instead of cash as it says on the website. No hot water in the room. No kettle but they provide you with dirty glasses and teabags, but have a price list for tea and coffee in the reception. Wouldn't keep my pet fleas in this hotel.

The pictures online are absolutely not representative of what the place is actually like. No wonder it was so cheap & thank goodness we had only booked 1 night! 1 member of our party saw her room & promptly left & went & checked in elsewhere! Absolutely dreadful.

William (5/5): You get what you pay for… - To be fair I booked this room because it was cheap. In that way it matched my expectations. Good shower. It was a good location for the seafront, I suppose. But so is every hotel in Eastbourne! They took a deposit of £25/ night at checkin. That is the only time that has ever happened to me in Eastbourne, and is one reason not to go back. I heard other guests who were unhappy about this. They said it was because they had a lot of guests ‘from other countries’! At first I thought a leg was missing from my wardrobe (so I reported it to ‘protect my deposit’, along with everything else). It turned out the floor was sunken in the middle! No wjfi. The reception stank of deodorant. Loads of other things, but to be fair you get what you pay for.

Sylvia (3/5): Felt unhealthy staying there - No breakfast was offered The room was dirty. I moved the bed to see, as when I looked round the room I felt it hadn’t been cleaned, and I was right. The filth under the beds was disgusting. Loads of dirt, dust, dirty tissues and loads of long black hair, quite revolting. Because of this I didn’t even sleep in the bed as I wouldn’t have been surprised if the sheets hadn’t been changed! They obviously save money by not paying for cleaning staff. Horrendous! I took a photograph of the mess under the bed!

janet (2/5): - The room was shocking. Room 107 is both Dirty and shabby. I would have moved out had it been for more than 1 night. No towels, no cup, mould on the walls, taps so wonky they splashed my clothes and wet the floor, The chest of drawers had no bottom, so the clothes fell straight through, the bedside table was chipped and stained, the pillow was yellowed with sweat stains. The window sill, curtains and windows were a disgrace, the carpet was stained - thank goodness I brought slippers to wear. A disgusting experience.

The hygiene was atrocious border line infectious it felt as though I'd catch a disease sleeping, eating or breathing in that room. DO NOT STAY HERE - There is absolutely nothing to like about the Hotel, immediately arriving there were drunk and addicted people laying on the steps to the front door, upon entering and trying to check in I was asked for ID not and issue as most places do this but I was then quizzed by the man at reception as to where and what part of the country do I live - he does not need to know this information, he stopped asking me questions when my husband came to check on me. I was then asked to pay a £50 damage deposit - £25 for each room as I had another room for my mother in which I reluctantly paid and recieved the room keys. I left the hotel without looking at the rooms as we were meeting family for dinner. An hour or two later my husband and I went back to see the rooms and what we found was absoloute Vile, mouldy kettles and walls and yellow stained beds and towels, vile stained carpets and a common area with a microwave and toaster that were absolutely filthy, rooms with no door handles or locks broken windows and it was impossible to find one of our rooms. I checked out immediately and was told they refunded the damage deposit but never did and its been 3 weeks. The entire experience and the hotel and staff, only 2 staff members that stared atvus walking around, dark dirty stairwells to some rooms, vile stained carpets, mouldy bathrooms and kettles, yellow stained beds and towels, all of the toiletries in the bathroom and beed open and used and missing lids just thrown in the sink and having to pay £50 damage deposit before receiving keys just to be put in the most vile of rooms. We immediately checked out feeling ill from the sight and smell of the rooms and told we would be refunded the damage deposit yet 3 weeks later we still have recieved nothing.

Simon (6/5): A wounderful over night pitstop in Eastbourne - Before arriving I had doubts about my choice because of the grossly over exaggerated complaints this hotel has recieved. I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving. Yes there was a musty smell in the air but no more so than any other hotal of this age I have ever visited. Yes there are stains on the some carpets and walls, again I have seen this wear and tear in other hotels. The attendant at the desk was excellent and happily allowed me to purchase a parking permit ( £2.35 per day ) so I could leave my car on the road outside the hotel, even though I was six hours early for check-in. We returned later in the afternoon to check-in after a day exploring the town. The hotel is no more that 50 yards from the beach and at a stretch the sea could be seen from our window. The bed was firm and comfortable which I was happy with and the TV was large, for when you are getting ready to go out. I would have no problem visiting this vaue for money hotel again in the future. The pictures on the booking site didn't represent the room we stayed in, maybe if the pictures were to give a better expectation of the actual room availabe people woudn't leave such bad reviews.
Saniya (8/5): Budget friendly hotel. - ✓ Friendly helpful staff trying their best to help. ✓ Very high on affordability ✓ WWithin,1 one minute walk to the sea. ✓ Walking distance to bus stop which is what I needed. ✓ You can buy water and drinks at reception. ✓ comfortable stay once I got extra pillows, bedding and towels. ✓ TV had you tube which topped everything. ✓ Kettle in room X Compact little single roombut it was affordable. X no telephone in room to contact reception. X No breakfast offered in hotel X For security they charge a holding deposit fee at check in even if hotel room is all paid , that is refundable at checkout provided the room is not damaged. X lift was not working during the night I was there. X reception was unlit at night and inside the stars wall a big damage to it like someone punched it. X small washroom area x No fridge in room.

Ieva (10/5): Hotel left impression memories - Very modern decoration, furniture. Some new technologies which is not achievable for us. Triple and clean windows. View amazing, you can see France even. We was impressed how easy to find room on the third floor, it took just 45 min. 3D stairs and floors. Everywhere shiny clean. Lift didn’t work that day, but we had loads of excited experience while walking stairs, unforgettable.

Mika (6/5): Good, not great - Small but decent. Easy walk to the shops and even quicker walk to the beach. Bed was comfortable, although bedding didn't seem like it was meant for that bed. Sheets kept coming off, and the doona cover was definitely meant for a double or larger. Big window let in beautiful afternoon sun, made the small room feel bigger. Staff were friendly, although a couple of miscommunications did occur. Mold in the shower, the shower pressure is a trickle (chance of user error) the fact that the shower barely drained was not, had to turn off the water ever couple of minutes to let it drain and was in there longer as it took so long to wash products off. On one of my first days there room service let themselves into my room after faintly knocking twice, they were so quite I didn't realise it was to my room and they didn't call out and barely apologised. There is little to no noise suppression, can hear the neibours watching TV, having sex, and one guy checking in at midnight drunk and mad cause his key card didn't work, banging on his own door in frustration shook the walls. (Bring earplugs if you plan to stay)
Rebecca (3/5): Terrible experience - Nothing Everything , dirty walls were covered in something , had to clean shower before use and it was supposed to be the DELUXE room !!! Manager/Receptionist was never available asked for a £100 pound deposit to cover any breakages while we stayed even though it wasn’t stated in the booking, asked for passports which we didn’t take with us as we didn’t think they were needed and we booked and payed online. Front entrance was unlocked 24 hours a day , chained up the drinks machine but left the door for anyone to walk in day or night !!!
Hattie Ford (4/5): Fine to sleep in and cheap - This was the cheapest non-hostel option for miles and you get what you pay for. I am not fussy so was fine to sleep there for one night for the price, but I wouldn't have wanted to be there any longer and didn't spend any more time in the room than was necessary. Other than the price, the only other positive is the location, which is a short walk from the train station and the beach, with a nice pub and general store on the next street over. WiFi didn't work, temperature control unit on the wall didn't work, no bulb in the bedside lamp, difficult to find rooms and the way around, lift felt a bit perilous at times. The tables, chairs and sheets were dirty and there was mould in the shower. The bathroom taps were on backwards (cold actually ran hot and hot ran cold) and the wardrobe was broken so it swung open unless you barricaded it shut with a suitcase. There was no bath mat, no hairdryer, and while there was shower gel there was no shampoo.

Robyn Carby (1/5): Awful - The hotel is in desperate need of a deep clean and total refurbishment. Communal areas are untidy, uninviting, and uninspiring. The person at the front desk was rude. In the room, the furniture was battered, the carpet sticky and stained, and wallpaper peeling. The window was propped open with a piece of wood.
Beth (1/5): Great location for Eastbourne beach front. Extremely dirty, not like pictures show. Could be fabulous if a deep clean wa - The hotel receptionist was extremely friendly and approachable. Although communication leading up to the stay was extremely frustrating trying to confirm if an early check in was doable. Just the generic automated response was sent to every request until the day before and then no early check in was possible. The bed sheets were clean. It was extremely dirty all over. The carpets were totally gross. Under the beds were dusty and had rubbish underneath. The bathroom could do with a deep scrub. Inside the wardrobe were mouldy spots. Luckily we were only staying one night and only needed the room to sleep in and was out for the rest of the time.

Vickie J (1/5): I didn't stay - I didn't stay here. I didn't stay here. The first room I was offered wasn't clean. There were crumbs in the bed and on the floor, and the bathroom wasn't clean, and the room didn't smell fresh. There was a big moth on the wooden floor in the middle of the crumbs etc. I asked for a different room, experienced the same thing and so I checked out. I didn't get a refund.
Norwest (2/5): Just don’t stay!! - Has 4 rooms for 10 nights each. Rooms beyond disgusting no apologies. There was even a pigeon in one one night!! Towels filthy beds not made. Emailed rang left messages no response our workers ended up going buying cleaning materials etc and cleaning rooms themselves. I probably have in excess of 10 contractors in hotels each week believe me they don’t complain this was absolutely terrible

salesh (1/5): Awful experience, disgusting - Location was good Very poorly maintained and cleanliness was disgraceful. The photos on booking.com website are misleading, the reality is totally different. The rooms look nothing like the photos. The room was infested with maggots and bed bugs. We couldn’t sleep because of the constant itching and came out in red bumps. The room was full of dust and mould. Horrible smell of urine and sewage in the room. Flooring in disrepair, I actually tripped over the floor at one point and got badly bruised. The bathroom and shower had no hot water, water pressure was really low. There was litter under the bed despite pointing it out to the manager who said he would get it cleaned ii was still there when we arrived back from supper on the first night. We left the hotel after the first night and booked into another better hotel. We asked for a refund the manager stated he couldn’t help and needed to take it up with the booking.com customer service.
Kymberly (1/5): Dirty, mouldy, avoid at all costs. - The location was literally the only positive aspect about this property. Nothing internally was a positive experience. Upon arrival there was no one there to check us in, despite being told there would be someone there to help. We called and the person that checked us in was clearly annoyed to have been called there, they turned up quite obviously having just woken up and in slippers. When we got to the room there was no mugs, no toilet roll, no tv remote, we went back to reception and had to call and wait for the check in person again to get these from the check in desk. The tv remote still didn’t work. The property seemed abandoned to be perfectly honest, that room (standard family room) has never been cleaned. There was dirt and dust everywhere. The mould was an absolute joke, I have taken photos of the state of the mould and the carpet. They took a £75 deposit which was not advised of before hand and which I have yet to receive back. To be honest they should be paying us for cleaning the room, we had to do so in order to place our belongings on any of the surfaces. All 4 of us have returned home unwell due to the appalling state of the room. Two of us are seeking medical attention for the chest problems and sore throat sustained from staying in this room. Further to all this, we were four adult men here for a professional sports tournament and we were only given one key between us to access the room, we requested at least another key so we weren’t restricted to each others match timetables but were told this was not possible.
Janet,brennan (1/5): pictures of hotel online don't match what you be getting be warned don't go - the hotel was disgusting and rotten with dirt grime fag buts and mold smell everywhere. service was bad most times no one on reception but the location of the hotel was amazing any questions you ask about this hotel sadly will be a bad response but the location and eastbourne itself was wonderful
Hindley (1/5): - Nothing , very poor , dirty and unhygeinic. Cockroaches in room.major health hazard Rude manager , he didnt care when we tild him .Dirty walls , had to change rooms and this was still dirty but with cockroaches .never stay here again and believe this place to be disgusting .
M Haste (6/5): Scruffy, but comfortable - Warm welcome; very comfortable bed; good location and great price. We stayed one night only and, despite the obvious lack of investment in the building, etc, we would stay again. Wear and tear not addressed; bed sheet didn't fit properly and the bed reading lights didn't work.

Janet (6/5): Pleasant enough but cleanliness needs to be improved. - Location was great, a few feet from the promenade and near the theatres. The room was not cleaned well. No waste bin provided. Stains in the toilet and shower base. Bathroom sink had small bits stuck to front. Toilet seat a bit stained underneath. Radiator in room very grubby, net curtain black at bottom
Janet (8/5): Enjoyable weekend in a comfortable 3 star hotel. - No breakfast available. Rooms good size. Shower room good with hot water all day. Will be good when the bar and kitchen are finished.

Milan (1/5): - I only liked the location The cleaning of the hotel does not match the photos, the shower curtain is missing, the walls are dirty from spitting, the sink is full of beard hair, and on top of that, we still haven't received our £25 deposit back.

Jess (1/5): Very Dirty - the bed was quite comfortable The room was very dirty, a towel was left on the floor by the toilet, there was alot of mould on the ceiling and walls, the carpet looked like it had not been hoovered, the cups that were provided for tea was dirty, there was no remote for the TV, the bath was also very dirty, everything was just unclean.
Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was excellent, short walk from the coast and easy to get to from the town centre. Room was tidy and comfortable bed, however none of the plugs worked, and no remote for the TV. Made the property aware we were checking in late, however the receptionist seemed frustrated at this on the phone, quoting ‘ahh come on man’. Didn’t make us feel overly hospitable
Shirley (4/5): More attention to details - It was close to the beach and shops. It was a big room but small bathroom and needed some TLC eg damp issues and painted walls were scruffy

Zoe (4/5): Sadly disappointing - The location The attitude of reception when I first arrived purposely for Eastbourne airshow! He said he wasn't bothered about the planes! Called the Red Arrows the Red Dragons!! When I asked about parking, I was told I'd be lucky to find parking because of the airshow! The hotel is an old converted house. It requires a complete overhaul and decorating, and cleaning. I bought cleaning wipes to clean the surfaces and door handles of my room. And to clean the bathroom. The attitude of the staff needs improving, and their hospitality skills certainly require work! I saw piles of dirty sheets and duvets in the corridor each morning!
Jasmine (5/5): Decent for short or one night stay - It was very close to seafront and exactly where we needed to be for the airshow, roughly 2 min walk. The beds were comfy and soft, I was quite comfy. Tea and coffee provided They had a vending machine in the lobby with cold drinks . Convenience stores, theatres and restaurants close by. Waited quite a while to check in as the staff were on the phone in back room. Rooms weren't cleaned properly noticed they only changed bedding and bins. The sink didn't drain properly. Bathroom wasn't cleaned, stains around the toilet and used bath products around bath tub ( was there as we entered on arrival). Quite noisy in the evenings , upstairs and downstairs. Stains on mattress (but luckily had mattress protector and multiple covers). No water for kettle , wasn't informed if water in bathroom tap was safe to use? Bit expensive for 2 nights especially for a 3 star hotel that isn't very hygienic
Mark (1/5): Absolutely awful feel let down by Booking.com - you expect a higher standard of hotel when booking. - Central location - that is the only positive! First impressions of outside - very scruffy. Got worse inside. All carpets - stairs and corridors filthy. Woodwork filthy. Room was disgusting, filthy carpet with stains everywhere. Bathroom horrendous, toilet had clearly not been cleaned. Bath filthy, shower curtain mouldy. Mould on ceiling. Furniture really old and thick with dust - nothing like pictures on internet. Window sill mouldy, piles of plaster on floor behind dressing table, tea tray and mugs dirty. Window sealed up so stifling hot. Complained to reception (another guest was also complaining about their room) and said we were going home and wanted a refund and person claimed not to be able to do it without permission from is 'unobtainable' manager. Offered a 'deluxe' room which we accepted it as more modern than previous (and we didn't really want a 2hr drive home after our evening out) but then realised how dirty this was as well. False eyelashes and hair all over the floor (washable floor as well). Walls had marks/stains all over them as well as just being grubby. Skirting boards haven't been cleaned in months. Light switches were really grubby, Shower disgusting - we would not use it. Toothpaste smears on wall. Sink filthy with limescale all over taps. Toilet roll holder broken and found in on floor behind toilet. Extractor fan was grim, (see picture). Nowhere to put your toiletries at all. Pillows seen better days - no pillow protectors - and were stained. No remote control for TV - asked twice and nothing done. Dressing table chair filthy. Bed was extremely uncomfortable - worst we have every slept in. This room we could open the window a bit but still very hot and as it faced the street it was noisy all night long. I refused to walk on the floor bare footed, his white socks were filthy and covered in previous occupants hair!! Dreadful place, they have clearly no idea how to run a hotel and their idea of room changeover is simply to change the...

Narendra (4/5): - Poor quality property, feels like a hostel, pigeons everywhere, so the property smells. Towels were poor quality and small. Shower OK, bed mattress soft. I would not consider this hotel if I were to visit Eastbourne again.

John (2/5): Very disappointed and would not stay again. - The only saving grace of this hotel was location. The hotel is having renovations. The stairwell and locations of the rooms were poor, with laundry outside of the doors which were still there the next morning. We were in a hurry so just put our things in the room and went out as up to see family and not back until late otherwise would have asked for new room. As you entered the side wall had several large damp patches which had just been painted over and of course flakes of paint on the floor. There was also a broken window in the bathroom. They gave us a room on the third floor and lift was not working.

Room was comfortable enough for just me for 1 night stay The hotel is obviously going through renovation, everywhere was half done , and a building site. The finishing touches were missing in the room ie: a good clean , door handle on bathroom broke. Lovely draw curtains at the window, but the net curtain behind was filthy.
