This set us up for the day ahead. The only thing we didn't like ,which was my fault we only stayed for two nights. Next time.😁

Paul (10/5): Great Guest House - Super place to stay and Tom & Karen are really nice people. We bombarded them with questions prior to arrival, all dealt with promptly & with good humour. Their guest house was the last one on our Fife Coastal Path Walk and, without doubt, the best one we stayed at. Great room, lovely common areas to use & a super breakfast (complete with views of red squirrels having their own breakfast by the beech tree on the lawn). Good pub food just a 10 minute walk down the road. On our last night, celebrating successful completion of our 7 day walk, I availed of a dram of the complimentary Glenlivet left out by our hosts. Pinewood is highly recommended. Thank you both.

Stewart (7/5): We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Pinewood Country House Hotel and would recommend it. - The breakfast was very relaxed and plentiful, although would have preferred the option of porridge, if it was available. The kitchen was also a bonus where one could make coffee tea,etc. and the complimentary offer of brownies was a welcome touch. The location was ideal due to the proximity of towns such as Newport and St. Andrews where there are good restaurants. The proximity of the lovely Tentsmuir beach was also a great asset. Tom and Karen were excellent hosts. They made you feel at home and they were friendly and helpful with information about the surrounding area. There were also plenty car parking spaces in the grounds of the Hotel. The bedroom we occupied on the top floor ( number 5 ) was smaller than we expected and we would have preferred a more spacious room. We also were not too keen on the communal table for breakfast and would have preferred a table for two, if there had been the option. However, we did enjoy the company on the first morning at the communal table while there were no other guests at the table on the second morning.
Simon (10/5): If you have a wedding or want a relaxing stay in or near Dundee, St Andrews or Leuchars, stay here. - Tom and Karen were excellent hosts, they made every effort to make our stay comfortable (in this case for a wedding nearby) even going as far as giving us the kitchen space for breakfast and offering a slightly later breakfast for the day after the wedding in case there were sore heads. Breakfast choices to suit everyone (recommend the salmon and scrambled eggs!) the rooms were big and comfortable, with nicely updated, modern amenities. The building and surrounding area have interesting historical significance so I recommend reading the welcome book and speaking to the hosts about it if it interests you. There was absolutely nothing I could say in the negative in regards to this stay, for a wedding weekend it's the most comfortable and relaxed I've ever been.

David (9/5): Lovely stay with super friendly hosts. The house is beautiful and finished to a very high standard. - Breakfasts were excellent and generous. Tom and Karen were very welcoming and helpful in giving suggestions about place to eat and visit. Location was great and so close to St Andrews and Dundee. Bed mattress in room 1 was too soft for my bad back but when we said this we were moved to room 2 where the mattress was good and had a good nights sleep there. Full marks for responding to guests needs but mattress quality is so important. Check before is you have a bad back.

Upon arriving very early on our day of arrival to drop off some luggage, my wife and I were offered coffee and home made cake and were made extremely welcome. We would certainly stay again in the future and recommend it highly to anyone wanting to stay reasonably close to St.Andrews or Dundee but prefer a rural location with exceptionally helpful hosts.

Geary (10/5): The Stay Was Perfect - My dad and I stayed here before our long awaited round of golf at St Andrews Links. As I reflect back on this stay, I simply cannot find fault with any aspect of our visit. We are touring Scotland and England playing golf and I wanted the personal touch of a B&B at each destination and Pinewood was by far our best experience. Room - perfect size, great decor, comfortable beds Private washroom - very modern design, several amenities, great shower Wifi - worked well in the room as well as common areas Breakfast - freshly prepared and absolutely delicious Hosts - this couple is awesome and very attentive to your needs There is a St. Michaels Inn & Restaurant s just down the street. Their food is very good so 8 highly recommend eating there and trying the fish soup. But I highly recommend staying at Pinewood!
Clifford (10/5): Nice and close to St. Andrews golf course. - Karen and her husband are really nice hosts and made our stay really comfortable. We had to get up at 4am to wait in line at St. Andrews Old Course and they made sure there was food for us to eat.

It was in a great location, just minutes from St. Andrew's our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. We would certainly stay there again.
