• Isabelle (6/5): - Établissement défraîchi, propreté douteuse (sur la terrasse mégot au sol et restes de nourriture sur les fauteuils plastiques) Salle bain mal entretenue (joints .. ,) douche pb d'étanchéité, vis à vis sur vieil immeuble en beton, en tavaux, assez loin de la photos des immeubles charmants de la rue. Accueil expéditif (homme agacé par 1/2 h de décalage par rapport à l'horaire annoncé). Très bonne situation centrale dans Porto, chambre mansardée spacieuse. Du potentiel, si entretien de fond en comble.
• Michael (8/5): - The property is in a great location, ten minutes from all major areas. Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby too. Communication and check in was great! The only complaint is the property is getting a bit tired in places and the floors were quite squeaky. Saying that, I would book again as for the price it's on a great location.

Address given wasn’t correct - the property is actually spread across 2 buildings and me and my friend were in separate buildings .
• Liz (8/5): Central Location But Poor Service - We returned here again because of central location and facilities and our past positive experience however we were very disappointed with parts of our stay. Daily housekeeping was part of our accommodation purchase both written and verbally but never happened and as we stayed for 6 nights clean sheets clean towels toilet paper etc should have been provided. The first thing we had to do was defrost the fridge as it was so iced up, the tiles on the bathroom floor were loose and the shower leaked. The room supplies like salt and pepper had empty shakers, the dishwashing detergent ran out, there were no extra rubbish bags which were a necessity after 6 days and there was nothing to clean or sweep the floor with! We were unable to contact anybody and had to try to catch the cleaners just to get toilet paper. Totally different from our previous stay. Also the TV on the eisel was quite dangerous as it was unstable and moved around with a potential to fall. Having said all this we enjoyed our stay but these issues need attending to especially the housekeeping which was supposed to be included.

• Ryan (10/5): Perfect pad and incredible service. - Can’t credit these guys enough in the service. Having had a difficult and long journey over to Porto, they couldn’t have been anymore accommodating or gone out of their way more to ensure I got access to the property when I needed it. The room itself was spotless and plenty of room. The location is perfect and littered with places to eat/drink. I will be staying here again, soon. Great city and perfect accommodation.
• Henrike (8/5): - excellent location, cute apartment. unfortunately does need a bit of maintenance - the towel rail holder was falling off, none of the powerplugs were working in the bedroom (lethal if you are missing an alarm for a flight because phone is not charging... ) Communication and check-in was excellent and the bed comfy. The view is nothing special but still nice to have a balcony.
• PeterH385 (2/5): Disgraceful - My partner and me booked 5 nights in the property for the end of March this year and paid in full in advance via 'Booking'. Then of course the world changed with the Coronavirus pandemic. Our BA flights from London to Porto were cancelled and both Portugal and London locked down. We contacted the property and asked about how we might resolve this situation, while being sensitive to the difficulties all people in the hospitality industry were suffering. We were given a curt 'No refunds and no vouchers!' We explained that we would like to visit when we were allowed, but again the property gave a flat refusal - 'no vouchers or credit'. I then had to take a firmer approach, to which I was told that they could not give any credit as we were a 'no show'. Ridiculous - my partner cancelled the reservation directly and also via Booking - and as Portugal and London were in official lockdown, and no flights operating - how could we possibly have 'shown' !? If you decide to book with this property make sure and check all their T&Cs - basically no refunds under any circumstances. We were being sensitive and flexible and my partner would have accepted a percentage of what we paid as refund of credit - but the property were totally intransigent. When we look back once the pandemic is finally over and we get back to normal travel - we will look at the people and establishments who showed some understanding and thoughtfulness towards their guests - not selfish and insensitive like these people - they are a disgrace to Porto and their industry.
• Colleen1300 (8/5): Great Location - We stayed 5 nights at the Almada and we were happy with our accommodation. The room was on the second floor and looked out to the back. Not a beautiful view but we thought it was probably quieter. The room had a kitchen stocked with a few basics. We did not cook. The bathroom was adequate and the bed was comfy. The location is great. Walking distance from the Metro and you can walk to the train station. There was a grocery store not far either. And of course you are close to the city hall and many, many restaurants. Generally speaking we found Porto very walk-able. We arrived early and upon ringing the bell we were welcomed by a lovely woman who appeared from next door. She (sorry i can't remember her name) held our bags while we ventured out for awhile as our room was not yet ready. They cleaned our room first and we were able to get in early. So terrific. It seemed someone was at reception most mornings and there was a phone number one could call at anytime. Housekeeping was offered daily.

Our apartment was 4th floor loft and was lovely and clean and very quiet, had aircon and black out blind....we slept really well. Had everything we needed. Location was great....walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. We really enjoyed our stay here and have recommended it to friends already. We had a great time!

• Prenton2 (8/5): Stay in porto - Apartment was fabulous very clean towels changed every day and if you needed anything you only had to ask Comfortable and modern this apartment was central and easy to find from the metro. We were greeted on arrival and everything was explained to us including the use of a mobile we were able to use during our stay and take out with us this was a godsend enabling us to find our way to and from the sights of Porto with ease using the compass. Yuan and staff very friendly and welcoming . Would recommend.

• Liz (10/5): Spacious and Central - Yoan was extremely helpful before we even arrived with directions and best transport to take. The apartment was very spacious and made for a comfortable few days. Very central to everything and Yoan gave us a detailed map of the area plus instructions on how to find everything. There is a mini mart around the corner. Only downside was the bed was very ‘squeaky’ and the floorboards creeped rather badly not just in our apartment but all those around us apart from that we loved it!

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Super centraal gelegen en fijne host die veel uitleg en tips geeft over de stad. Je voelt je gelijk welkom. Het appartement was netjes en schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Je moet alleen geluk hebben met je bovenburen. De houten vloeren zijn erg gehorig als daarover gelopen wordt. Bij aankomst in de accommodatie wordt ook netjes gevraagd daar rekening mee te houden. In ons appartement waren wat kleine gebreken' deurtje van de koelkast was kapot en het handdoekenrek kwam los van de muur. Netjes doorgegeven en zou naar gekeken gaan worden. Is niet meer tijdens ons verblijf opgelost maar hebben we niet echt hinder van ondervonden. Ondanks de krakende vloeren zou ik iedereen aanraden dit appartement te boeken. Wij hebben een hele leuke tijd gehad in Porto! Verder nog extra services: telefoon met internet, belminuten en een zelf ontwikkelde app met tips en restaurants. Ook paraplu's aanwezig mocht het minder goed weer zijn. Super!

This was our first time in a non-traditional hotel and BO - Almada 340 exceeded all our expectations! It was our favourite of all three hotels in Portugal and we highly recommend it. We needed an early check-in, as well as a late check-out, due to train times and our host, Yoan Luigi, was very accommodating. Yoan also gave us great recommendations on nearby restaurants for authentic Portuguese cuisine at a non-touristy price. Housekeeping delivered extra towels and toilet paper when we needed it. The room was spacious, extremely quiet and in a fabulous location in Porto. It was only 15 minutes walk to all the must-see sites. It was perfect for us in every way!

• Ruby_of_Arran (10/5): Great loft apartment - Loved the warm welcome and our 4 night stay in a modern, spacious loft apartment. The location is excellent for exploring Porto. There is a lovely breakfast cafe/bakery nearby and a great little lunch/snack place just across from the apartments. Would recommend the tourist bus tour just to get an initial feel for the city. The bus stop is just a few minutes walk from the apartments. The apartments do not have a lift but going up the stairs was perfectly manageable.

• Jose (10/5): - Apartamento con unas instalaciones, un trato y una ubicación inmejorable. Situado muy cerca de dos estaciones de metro (una de ellas un intercambiador que te lleva al aeropuerto en 30 min+-) y la estación de tren para hacer excursiones a ciudades de alrededor. La ubicación del apartamento te permite ir andando prácticamente a todos los sitios. Ademas el día que dejas el apartamento te dejan guardadas las maletas y te dan unas llaves para que las recojas cuando quieras. Muy muy recomendable.

• Beryllium53 (10/5): Perfect stay in Porto - Clean, bright, great location! My husband and I spent four nights in this great studio apartment. We had the apartment on the first floor (which was up a number of stairs) and overlooking Rue Almada. Our unit consisted of a living area with kitchenette, a separate sleeping area and a small bathroom with a shower. The shower was perfectly fine for us but I think a big person could have a tight squeeze getting into the shower! The bed was very comfortable and even though we were right over the street we did not get bothered by any noise! This unit was so much better than a hotel room, even though we didn't spend much time hanging around inside!! There is so much to do in Porto! We were checked in and out by Catarina who was a great ambassador for the area. She gave us many pointers that helped us enjoy our stay in Porto. We chose to walk everywhere, however the Metro was nearby. This was convenient for getting to the train station to go to Lisbon. The Almada 340 was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there and we will definitely recommend to others!
• PATRICIA (8/5): - Location was perfect and given the history of the Rua do Almada, some of which I discovered on my return it made the visit all the more wonderful. Amenities are great with all mod cons, as was the welcome. I recommend anyone interested in Porto's history; who really wants to have an authentic experience to learn about do Almada to immerse them-self in the environment - it makes for a much richer cultural experience.

• Stranger41 (10/5): Sublime - Just returned from a week staying here with my wife. So, from the beginning: I'd e-mailed a few times prior to arriving and Yoan got back to me in a timely manner with answers to my questions on every occasion. When we arrived Miguel welcomed us and then went through what was what and spent time recommending places to visit, even going as far as to draw a suggested route throughout Porto to visit a lot of the recommended places. A few special mentions; all staff spoke good English, there's a mobile phone which you can take out with you daily, it has internet access, recommendations, GPS, various Apps and useful numbers and there's also umbrellas which you can take out with you. Our apartment was on the top floor at the back and was lovely with a decent sized balcony complete with table and chairs. The living area contained, a double bed, more than enough wardrobe and cupboard space, kettle, coffee maker with a supply of coffee, toastie maker, plates, bowls, cutlery, pans, corkscrew, bottle opener, microwave, hob, fridge, table and chairs, TV with lots of channels, comfy chair, DVD player and a coat stand. The bathroom contained; wc, shower gel and soap, shower with a rainfall shower head , bathmat, towel rail and towels, sink with under sink cupboard which held extra towels, toilet paper and a plug in hairdryer. The apartment was cleaned every day and any replenishment done where necessary. There's numerous restaurants in very close proximity and a small supermarket just around the corner. We saw Yoan on our way out on most mornings and he was always smiling and pleasant often enquiring as to our well being and asking if there was anything he could help with. A wonderful place to stay in a great location run and staffed by wonderful people.
• Alastair (10/5): - Previous to staying I emailed with a few questions which were all answered professionally in a timely manner. When we actually arrived Miguel was there to welcome us and spent a good hour telling us what was what and giving us recommendations of places to visit as well as drawing out a recommended route on the city map that he gave us. The apartment was superb, the location was superb and the helpful professionalism shown by Miguel, Yoan and all the staff really helped make our holiday wonderful.
• 457billym (10/5): Just about perfect - My wife and I loved staying here for a week. We emailed Yoan a couple of days before arrival and because our flight arrived very late he arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport. Cost was €25 and took about 30 minutes. We were met outside the apartment by a very friendly Miguel who took us inside, explained everything about our apartment and gave us some local advice on what to do. We chose the loft apartment as previous reviews had mentioned some noise from above. We didn't hear any noise from apartments below or beside us but our wooden floor creaked a bit and can imagine that would have been heard below us. There's no lift so it is quite a hike up the stairs, although it was no problem for us. We had everything we needed in the apartment. There was a good stock of dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils (although we didn't use much of that), a hob, toastie maker, kettle, microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board and a Nespresso machine with pods. There is a small balcony although we never got to use that thanks to the rain. The first night we were there (Saturday) was quite noisy outside but we learned that if you keep the AC on then you can't hear anything from outside. The bed is comfortable, the shower good and our room was cleaned every day. As for the location, it was second to none. There is a vast amount of options for eating and drinking just on the same street and even more around the corners and on parallel streets. You never need go to the same place twice, although we ended every evening in Cafe Candelabro, just up the street. Stand out restaurants close by are MUU Steakhouse, DeGema burgers, Brasao Cervejeria and Ris8tto, all just a couple of minutes away. Cafe Castelo across the road is good for a coffee and a toastie in the morning and a decent happy hour in the evening before heading for a meal. Although the transport is good in Porto we hardly ever used it as we could walk everywhere. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and probably will.

Whilst the wooden floors can be noisy, it’s more than compensated for by a great location and wonderful facilities. If I could change one thing, I would change the towels etc more often, other than that a wonderful place to stay and we would go back if we are ever in Porto again 👍
• clarewA2215SO (10/5): Really Good - I stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights, the place is amazing. I haven’t put any photos in my review - because they’re not needed, the place is exactly as the management photos show. Yoan was brilliant, received a message from him before we left for Porto, he checked our flight number to ensure he was there when we arrived. Check in was quick and easy, he gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and see, places to eat etc. He gave us his contact details and was available whenever we needed him. He’s great! There was a mobile phone in the room for us to take around with us - we used it mostly for map purposes. Air conditioner was great if a wee bit noisy. Lots of nice touches in the room and the kitchen was a great little setup. We were on the top floor and at the end of a long day the stairs could be a bit of a killer, but I’m not particularly fit and I managed them fine. I loved having a balcony and we finished off most nights out there. The place itself is really well situated. I’d planned to buy a metro card for our stay but Yoan said we didn’t need one and he was right, nothing is more than a 20 minute walk away. Porto is lovely and I hope to be back. I’d be more than happy to stay here again.
• Sophia (10/5): Central Location - We had a great stay at Almada 340. We were welcomed by Yoan who helped carry our bags to our room. From there he gave a quick tour of the apartment and oriented us with the city. Amenities were great and included coffee, free use of a cell phone with data, and a full kitchen. The place itself is centrally located, with everything from the train station, local sites, and great restaurants just a short walk away.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location - We had a great time staying at Bo Almada. The location is perfect for exploring the city with it being only a short walk from all the tourist spots as well as being in the heart of the restaurant and bar area. Even though it was close to bars and restaurants we had no problems with noise from them as there wasn’t any directly next to the hotel. Check in was easy and extreamly informative with Yoan explaining where everything of interest was and the best way to get to them all. He even recommended a few places to eat. The room we had was huge and included a small kitchen which was perfect for prepping a simple breakfast before starting the day. If we were to visit Porto again we would definitely choose to stay at Bo Almada again.
• JCoopSidd (10/5): One night in Porto - Myself & my wife spent one night here and this place is amazing. Quick and easy check in & check out. The room is a good size and ours had a little balcony. It's very central and within walking distance of the river. We loved it here and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Porto. The Italian next door is really good if you need something to eat. We walked around at night and felt very safe.
• sebasti_nl999 (10/5): Close to everything - The flat was very clean, the decoration was great. The aircon worked properly, although in Porto at night can be quite cold, during the day it's important to have an aircon that cools down the place in summer, the guy at the front desk was very nice. He will provide you with a cell phone with internet and calls and you can use it during your stay which was great. It was amazingly well located, we didn't have to take a taxi at all during our stay in Porto, everything is a 10 15 min walk from the flat. The floor is quite noisy tho, it's and old building and you can really hear footsteps from upstairs even when you walk it can be quite loud, we didn't mind it so much cause we were always outside.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - A bright, very clean studio apartment in a perfect location. We were at the top of the building so be prepared to climb stairs, although it wasn’t a problem for us. There are other apartments on lower floors. I can thoroughly recommend these apartments with very friendly and helpful staff who get your visit to Porto off to a flying start!!
• Anna-Maria700 (8/5): Lovely weekend in Porto - The flat was very clean and neat with a modern design. It has all the essentials from the hairdryer to the many kitchen tools. It is located close to restaurants, shops and supermarkets but it is quiet. The main Porto amenities are within walking distance.
• Rachel (8/5): Beautiful, but a bit noisy - Very nice and clean hotel, with very helpful staff. Unfortunately, due to all the hardwood floors, it can get a little noisy. Bring ear plugs and you will be fine.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great apartment, perfect location - Stayed in the superior apartment with a friend. First of all, it looks exactly like the pictures. One of us slept on the bed and the other on the sofabed, which was prepped with a mattress topper - both very comfy. The location is excellent, right in the middle of town, which meant we could walk pretty much everywhere. In the 3 days we were in Porto, we only used the metro to/from the airport and the historic tram to the seaside. Very clean apartment, nice sized balcony looking out to the back (not much of a view but I preferred the privacy for my morning coffee and cigarette and also appreciated by my non smoking friend). You get a few days worth of decent coffee pods. The owners were very kind and informative and clearly run the place with care and pride. Excellent modern heating as well, which given the time of year we went (early March) was important. Nothing better than coming home to a toasty room after a long day of (sometimes rainy) sightseeing. The wifi was patchy (we used our own devices rather than the smart phone provided by the hotel) apparently due to the bad weather and storms while we were there. I used my own data roaming allowance for the ocasional work email. Having said that, Wi-Fi strength was roughly comparable to when I stayed at a Hilton (It's not an area that hotels, in general, pay a lot of attention to just yet). Overall, very good value for money, would definitely stay here again. Porto itself was lovely, with great food and very friendly locals.
• HarTeeuw (8/5): Wonderful people running the place and a great location! - Flight with KLM from Amsterdam to porto. Smooth and no problems. Arriving at Porto airport it was just... quiet... the metro/light rail E line ( purple) takes you in about 20/25 minutes to the Trinidad station and from there it is just a 10 minute walk to the apartment. Arrived at the door and since we were early called the telephone number written at the door. Happy Miguel arrived and helped us getting into the place.... gave a lot of information and suggestions for restaurants... so very kind and helpful. The apartment is nice and clean and cleaned every day and all people involved are just wonderful. Nice kitchen.... and a very nice street....bathroom could do with a bit more ventilation....and if I want to nag... the wooden floors can be squeaky... but hé... thats all there is! Happy stay here with a group of happy people running the place!

• paulbT572JP (10/5): Well appointed accommodation - Very good accommodation, well appointed with very friendly and helpful staff. However, if you have difficulty with stairs check first which floor you are on. We were on the top floor which involved 7 flights of stairs and 67 treads. Plenty of places to eat locally and a short walk to the centre and shopping district. Would we use again? Definitely.

• 861dewir (10/5): Porto delight!! - Beautiful, newly refurbished, well equipped and modern centrally located apartments about 5 minutes from the the Trinidade metro station which links directly to the airport. Delightful manager who was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Location could not have been better - central to most sights but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Èveryone we met were very welcoming.

• Emmamell (10/5): Perfect little place! - Perfect spot up the hill, away from the main tourist drags and close to lovely restaurants, bars and nightlife just five min walk. Its modern clean and has all the mod cons you could wish for, and then some! (400-something channels on the flatscreen and good wifi). You get a free phone with internet to bring with you and fantastic tips on restaurants from lovely and welcoming Miguel! In truth, this felt more like a hotel than renting an apartment.
• Nicole (10/5): Amazing - This apartment style hotel is great. The staff is so welcoming ask them any questions and they are so helpful. They even provide you with a phone that you can take out of the room so you can use it for directions or if you wanted/needed to make a call which to me is a selling point on its own. The location is great. The only downside is the lack of parking however there is a parking garage just down the street that isn't TOO expensive. I would definitely stay here again!
• Vojtech (10/5): Great place in the city center, helpful staff - I stayed with my wife in this modern, perfectly equipped and clean apartment for four nights. We enjoyed its location in the city center, almost next to the town hall and surprisingly very quiet. Walking distance to the metro station with direct connection to the airport. Many shops, restaurants and supermarket in the neighbourhood. The staff was very kind and helpful. At arrival Marcia gave us a map and provided us with useful information about the city, where to go and how to get there. No problems with our later check-out and storing our baggages.

• Jean (8/5): One bad and many greats. - Very Very noisy room with no soundproofing. So we would get walked on our heads continuously and disturbed every time someone opens or closes a door. Staff was absolutely great. Location is great.
• Zenas (10/5): Amazing place to stay in Porto! - I could not believe how accommodating this place was. The best part was they actually provided you with a phone loaded up with apps for you to use, AND being able to make up to 30 minutes worth of calls. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. Marcia made herself available pretty much 24 hours of the day. We could text or call her with any questions, and she was extremely helpful. She even showed us all of the local "hotspots" on a map when we checked in. Location is spot on. Very close to nightlife, attractions, and the beach.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment is very central. Lots of bars / restaurants near by. Michel who was there to greet us was super helpful giving directions and helpful tips. We were on the first floor. Although there is a balcony it has a. View of the back of buildings . However as we were seldom in it wasn't an issue. The cleaner was also helpful and there was no problem storing our bags when we had checked out. Worth noting The hairdryer is a good size .
• JD (10/5): Great accommodation in the centre of Porto - As the title says, great accommodation right in the centre of Porto. Easy access to transport links and close to the main tourist attractions. The rooms themselves are spacious and adequate for almost all needs. Only downside is a lack of an oven but a microwave, hob, fridge and coffee/tea making facilities are provided. Staff are friendly and courteous.
