Guest Reviews
- Heather (10/5): - The owners are very kind. This is a rustic cabin situation, not glamping. I personally loved it. I felt like I was away at deer camp. You have everything you need and nothing more. The beds are firm, but very comfortable. Everything is spotlessly clean. I will absolutely stay again.
- harry (4/5): - This is a very old property and not well maintained. The rooms are clean and the owner quite friendly. The price is significantly below what else can be found in the area.
- Kristan (10/5): - Cozy rustic cottages. A little drive from the center of town but well worth the drive.
- dawn (10/5): - It was like camping with a small cottage instead of a tent! The most relaxing & friendly place we have ever stayed! From the family owners who treated you as an old friend from the moment they said hello, to the big community bonfire that was beautiful to see even if I am a hermit & stayed inside.. I’d stay again in a heartbeat! Large hotel chains should take a lesson in cleaning from Thai woman because there wasn’t a speck of dust to be found! Thank you for the perfect stay
- Jun (10/5): - This was my first trip Center Harbor/the Lakes region and I will absolutely stay at Savoie Lodging again next time. First of all, the location is awesome, very easy to find directly off of Daniel Webster Highway, and also close proximity to several points of interest like the restaurants and shops of Meredith and also multiple lake/beach access points of the Squam Lake region paddling or just enjoying the water and mountain area scenery. Our cabin was quaint, peaceful, clean, and had a cute, fully screened-in, delightfully breezy front porch to sip on my morning coffee or chat with my partner after a full day of kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding and enjoying everything the lakes region has to offer. The staff was so warm and friendly and made us feel right at home. The owners, Sue and Norman, and I were on a first name basis by the time we left and I only stayed a few nights. They went above and beyond to accommodate my requests like adding additional nights (it was so hard to leave!) with affordable prices and answered any questions I had with genuine kindness which was an awesome change of pace from city hotels where sometimes the guests are rushed and not treated as a top priority. At Savoie Lodging, their sign as you enter the property truly says it best, “you are treated like family.” Highly recommended!!!
- Kristin (2/5): - Office employee was incredibly rude when I said I would not be staying the next night. Absolutely no heat or air, so very uncomfortable both day and night. Door did not lock, had to shut with a rock. Cute place, but experience was soured by terrible service with employee.
- Tadeusz (8/5): - Good place for the price quiet
- william (8/5): - Quiet, no frills, comfortable
- Patricia (6/5): - Stayed in a cabin during unseasonably cold weather. The owners are fantastic and friendly. I thankfully received a warning call that the cabins don't have heat. No problem, I brought lots of blankets, and added an electric blanket. The cabin was immaculately clean. But......
There's really no discernable "road" to find your cabin in the dark. There was hardly anything in the grass indicating you are supposed to drive on the grass.
My first step onto the "porch" showed the disrepair as the rotted wood simply sagged. I was scared to actually shut the door as the knob was hanging and I though it would just pull off if I tried to open the door once closed.
There was a refridgerator, unplugged. No problem, I tried to plug it in, but there was no outlet that the cord would reach. Honestly, it didn't matter as it was only 44 degrees anyway.
There was no curtain on the front window, so anyone could see right into and through the bedroom into the bathroom. I had to improvise, and took the bedspread off the second bed to hang up to block some light and get some privacy.
No TV, which I was unaware of, and there was no cell service. I wasn't informed about any wifi service, so I don't think there was any. Luckily I had a movie downloaded on my laptop.
I took a shower in the morning only to discover that there were no towels in the cabin either. So, I had to take the sheet from the second bed and use it for a towel.
I'm not a camper, and I felt this was basically a rotted wood tent.
- Michael (6/5): - It was just ok.
- Heather (10/5): We will be back! - Location and price were amazing. The cabin was incredibly clean and the staff very friendly. A great quiet place to rest our heads after a busy day.
- rachelle (10/5): - Super clean classic roadside motel room, with fresh paint, comfortable beds, basic fridge & microwave, small TV, pleasant seating on the apron in front and a nice picnic table & grassy yard under the pine trees out back. Easy to reach concerts at the BankNH Pavilion or dining, shopping and boating on the lakes. Staff was friendly, room was very clean, A/C window unit worked. Only downside was hot water was not super hot... but overall it was a great stay at a very reasonable price.
- David (8/5): - Very friendly
- Anita (8/5): - Pleasantly charming stay in a clean, quaint cabin.
- Michelle (8/5): - We stayed in a cabin with two double beds. Rustic cabin, no TV and no AC. Cabin was very clean. No cobwebs or bugs anywhere, and I looked. Had a few small bugs and an ant come in probably during the night. It's very quiet there and beds were comfortable. My internet on my phone didn't work without the wifi, but it worked great once I signed on. Owner is very nice, it's a family run business. Was very close to Bank of NH pavilion and Weirs beach. With the windows open and two large fans, it was plenty cool.
- Ann (6/5): - Very quiet,
- Dr. Pamela (10/5): - Super peaceful, adorable cabin in the trees ♥️
- Olivia (10/5): - Savoie’s was the perfect laidback staying experience for two sisters in town for a Meredith wedding. The staff was very friendly, the cabins were cozy, and we thoroughly enjoyed just hanging out on our picnic table
- Patricia (8/5): - I was pretty happy with the lodging..
- john (6/5): - be prepared for roughing it.....the price is right, it's clean but the cabins are very old, slanting floors, uncomfortable bed...we had to pull the box spring up and place the mattress on the the floor because the bed sagged so much are backs were aching.
- bryan (8/5): Good stay - nice quite stay, room was clean. and had no issues
- Stephanie (4/5): - The property photos have not been updated in a long time. Many of the cabins were out of order due to maintenance and other issues. There was no cable in the cabins and not stated on the info.
Would not recommend to stay in future!
- Eric (8/5): - These cabins serve the purpose, they are quaint, rustic, could the use an update sure. But for what I needed it for they are fine.
- nancy (8/5): - Great place if you don’t need anything fancy. Clean and a beautiful location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ants everywhere - There were small ants everywhere..bathroom, beds, a crawling all over table attached to wall.lack of privacy with no full bathroom door with no lock, roof leaks, no real security since easy to open windows. There were three total cabins being used for the weekend we were there….a little more room between each other would have been considerate.
Two face cloths, one hand towel and four bath towels not really enough for four but we made due.
Was a lot more rustic than anticipated….no kitchenette….no outside grill…so, we went out to eat.
We made the best of it!
- Heidi Jean (8/5): - Rustic cabin, clean beds and good hot water and electricity. Good place to stay at for the value with the concert venue nearby.
- Hannah (10/5): - Second year staying in the motel. Very clean and perfect space for the quick trip my boyfriend and I do yearly.
- Lisa (10/5): Recent stay - The owners were very hospitable, friendly and thankful of my business. They were very accommodating providing an extra blanket on a cold night. The cabin was clean and affordable!
- Barbara (6/5): - The cabin was clean and the bed was very comfortable, however these cabins need a major updating.
- Cathy (10/5): - Based on the description of this property we were not disappointed. This is a rustic cabin experience. No frills. No TV. So set your expectations accordingly and have fun with it. This is a very clean place to lay your head at night. We stayed in cabin 10. Hosts were friendly and right on site. Small fridge, shower, toilet and sink just not all together. But not a big deal. We enjoyed having some down time from technology and spent our time in the Weirs Beach area. Be open minded and this can be a very affordable, clean place to end an eventful day in Laconia.
- Scott (8/5): Great value for the location - I recently spent three nights in the motel, so I can't speak for the cabins. The building is presumably 70+ years old, but the room was relatively large with a chair, desk and two double beds, and very clean. The bathroom was very small, but also clean and the shower was remodeled and had good pressure and plenty of hot water. I would suggest buying drinking water. The tap water tasted very metallic. The location is excellent, about a 7 minute drive to either Holderness or Marideth. It me my needs very well as a base for a weekend of kayaking on the lakes, and the price was right at about 40% of what everyone else in the area was charging, but don't expect a lot of frills. One minor disappointment was that they no longer have the nightly communal fire that I enjoyed last time. Overall I have stayed there before and would stay there again!
- Erica (8/5): - Great if you are looking for a rustic cabin experience.
- Jonathan (4/5): - Check in was easy. Condition of the cabin was questionable. Floors very uneven making waking up without a headache due to sleeping downhill… no hot water on day 1… had to reset the pilot light and then hot water was very spotty. Fuses in fuse box were held in with pieces of wood. Normally wouldn’t look, but lights started flickering, went dim… then lost power for a period of time. If floors were even, hot water and electricity were dependable… we would have been happier.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Will Not Stay Here Again - Very remote & run down location. Cabin was clean, but Very Dated. Cracks in window frames allowed some bugs in. Didn’t feel very safe with the dim & remote location. No smoke detectors in ‘Cabin’. 25+ mins from Meadowbrook, Very hard to find an Uber Driver that will drive out that far. The Family that runs it is very nice, sadly the property has been falling apart for years though.
- Raymond (10/5): Gem in the woods. - The place was amazing, clean abd very quite... Our cabin was spacious, and right next to our friends we were traveling with.
Location was great, near everything.
Tho owner's make you feel right at home!!!
We will be comming back...
- Anita (10/5): - It was a comfortable place to stay.
- Sarah (10/5): - Absolutely love it! So charming, relaxing, clean and nostalgic
- Kristen (8/5): Nice stay for a good price - We had a nice stay for the price. The room was clean and mostly comfortable. The building sits close to the road so you hear the cars pass by. Fortunately, the road is not busy late at night.
- Tracy (6/5): A new bed needed. - The cabins were so cute and clean. They are outdated and understandingly with covid last year nobody did much upgrading. We were scheduled to stay two nights but only stayed one as the bed was very very old. Worst night of sleep in a long time. If the bed were updated my husband and I would 100% return to stay a long weekend. Quiet, clean, excellent hot water. Easy to find. A bed can make a huge difference.
- Karen (6/5): - Clean and quiet.
Bed sagged.
When you walked on the floor it moved.
- Karen Crowther (10/5): - I love the area. Such a rustic feeling. Felt so at home. Will return
- Sj (10/5): - Great space to sit outside and enjoy the weather/friends/fire. Big Norm and Little norm were great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We have stayed at savoies a few times now and absolutely love it. Charming, just the ticket for a weekend trip to get away. Clean clean clean. Private, fresh air, woods.... love it! Super nice people
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Let me tell you about this place! Cabins are adorable. Warm as hell, since they dont have AC but its in a great location.
Owners are awesome and 10/10 the prime reason i would rent here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were assigned into a dilapidated cabin with no hot water, no wifi (as advertised), curtains that didn’t cover the window (we had to hang a towel for privacy). The door could not be completely closed, and the floors were all slanted. Tree roots were mounded in front of the cabin causing a dangerous entrance. No one was available in the office even though they were supposed to be there. The only positive, despite the terrible condition, was that it appeared to be clean. We were supposed to stay two nights but could not possibly stay a second night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Megan (10/5): - Owner was super welcoming and friendly! Really beautiful area that is conveniently close to everything! We were very pleased with our stay and look forward to going back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute Rustic Cabins - Little rustic cabins that are clean and relaxing. Fun place if you want to get away from things for awhile.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Savoie is a motel that also has cabins and camping. I stayed in one of the motel rooms. It was basic but spotlessly clean, quiet, comfortable and perfect for me - I just needed a place to stay overnight while visiting my son. There was a fridge and microwave, quiet air conditioning and toiletries provided. I will definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location, location, location… I think was the only good thing! Grounds were overgrown, not kept up at all. Driveway/parking area for motel was filled with frost heaves. Couldn’t use gas grills outback because a tent fell on top of them during a storm and was left like that our entire stay (5 nights!) Room was ok, although the carpet was dirty and felt wet, hence a musty smell. Ac worked well. Didn’t receive any clean towels or sheets… I know there was no room service, but I feel being the only customer for the best part of a week, they could have dropped them off at the door knowing we only had a few towels for 5 nights. You get what you pay for, so if you just want to rest your head and take a shower for a night this place will do, but definitely not recommended for an extended stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay in a quaint little cottage. The bed was comfortable and it had a little refrigerator and nice hot shower. It was a cold weekend so we were glad we brought extra blankets with us. We would stay there again.
- Malgorzata (10/5): - If you look for a place fare away from the city in the woods this is the right one. No TV, no internet, no microwave - forest, fire, silence. Good for summer time, very clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - great place to stay, it was like cut out of the 1950's just so classic. the owners are so nice and the cabins cozy. will return. great stay.
- Kevin (10/5): perfect get away, less is more! - Place is perfect for your adult get away! Tiny living/house style, perfect to get away form all the noise! If you like it simple this is the place for you, we WILL be returning next season!
- Curtis (10/5): Nice place loved how quite it is there great stay - It was a pleasant stay needs a little tlc but there working on it would recomend it for a nice little cabin very nice fire at night owners are great .
- Cassie (10/5): Treats guests like family! - The Savoie's are an amazing family and were super accomodating for our trip! The cabins are as to be expected as "glamping" and super cute. They took precautions for COVID to keep us and their family safe and set us up with our own private fire. Overall we had a great time with friends and would definitely come back!
- Josrph (10/5): Comfortable cabins - It is not fancy but it is clean, comfortable and family friendly. The proprietors are nice people. We were up for the 4th of July and they even put on a nice fireworks display! Second time we stayed there and we will go back again.
- Mark (10/5): - They were very accommodating we everything we needed and they had a bonfire every nite for the guests
- Jake (8/5): - Easy to find. Lots of hot water. Just was looking for a good room to sleep and shower
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was what we wanted
Perfect price and location
Friendly staff and a great shower
- Elizabeth (2/5): Shame on Hotels.com - I have already sent a review. The owner sent her response which was untruthful and took no responsibility or criticism for the dump that she/he knows this place is. I am totally disappointed in Hotels.com for even advertising this poor excuse of potential "lodging." Shame on you and your website. Will NEVER use your web site again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a little rough . But it was clean had plenty of hot water. And the beds were comfortable. We were looking for a place close to town quiet and less expensive then a chain . We got all of that !!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was nice and quiet yet close to everything. I really liked the little homey touches like the journal in each cabin.
- Barry (6/5): - Place was ok. But quite old and constuction of building small and not sturdy. But was clean.
- Sue (8/5): - Camp fire was a pleasant surprise. Helpful staff. Air conditioning was wonderful.
- Sharon (2/5): Cabins from hell - DO NOT STAY HERE! The cabins are dilapidated and just down right nasty. There are gaps between the ground and the building where any type of critter may be able to enter. This place should not even be in business it is so rundown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was a step back in time...and I enjoyed it so very much, it reminded me of a much simpler time in our past, NO TV! The Savoie's were great hosts and they did a wonderful job in restoring the little cottages. If it is a step back you're looking for, this is the place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the fact that cabins are set back from the road near woods. Felt lots of privacy. Owners are helpful with tips on places to visit !! Also they provide lots of towels!! There’s a campfire at night which is really friendly. The whole site is welcoming.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Solo Stay - A bit pricey for what I got. The man at check-in gave me a hard time about the cabin I booked, “a big cabin for one person” even though that was all that was available when I booked, at least as far as what was visible online. The WiFi didn’t work, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Also the tap water was not drinkable, very strong metallic taste. It’s just quite overpriced for what it is.
- Barbara (10/5): Wonderful - Very pleasant. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Perfect for our needs and we will be back!
- Jodi (10/5): Hall & Oats Concert 2019 - We had a great night stay after returning from Hall &Oats concert that got cancelled. We sat out by the fire with Norm and got warm and dry. Thank you for tour Hospitality!! We will be back😘
- Verified traveler (8/5): - .not as close to concert venue as I thought very rustic.
- Holly (8/5): Very comfortable stay - Very clean simple room with a great little air conditioner and cold fridge. Small family run and were not set up for daily cleaning so be sure to set towels up to dry for reuse. We hadn’t done this as we didn’t realize. But they provided fresh ones when we let them know we hadn’t done this after day one. Very comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I thought the little cabins were cute. If I were staying any longer than over night the fact that there is no air conditioning or a TV may have been an issue if it remained as warm as it was all day. Other than that it’s a nice place.
- Kim (6/5): - The cabin we stayed in was small but very clean. There is not air conditioning (I thought there was, but that is my fault for not checking.) There were fans for two windows which did move the air around very well and made it comfortable. The people who own it are doing a good thing by working on this property, but it is not going to be your "cup of tea" if you are used to staying at a chain hotel. This is not a hotel -- it is a cabin. The wi-fi was nearly non-existent. The water in the shower alternated between hot and cold with only a few precious moments of warm which made showering a bit of a challenge. My teenage boys were very unhappy. My husband, who enjoys camping, thought it was fine. If you like to camp and want a place similar to that experience with indoor plumbing, you will enjoy this place. It does have its charms in that way. If you are looking for a nice hotel room -- you will probably not like this property.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was amazing! The pictures dont do it justice. The hospitality of the owns was above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend this place to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owners and pricing are great!Nice and quiet as well.
- jeremy (2/5): Upset and very unhappy. - Website said there was air conditioning and television. We had neither.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect! - One night trip with my cousin to see Tedeschi Trucks Band at Bank of NH Pavilion. Adorable cabin that was very clean and had everything we needed. Two beds. Shower. Bathroom. A lot of nostalgia and charm.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Quaint place - It was very pleasant. I was only there for one night after seeing a couple of shows in Meredith. I would stay here again. And the owner Suzanne had a cute 15-week-old Chiweenie named Mr. Bigs!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It just suck place is run down she don't know how to run a motel or the cabins
- Tarsha (8/5): - The motel room was clean, check in and out quick and easy, and very friendly, very peaceful,my only disapointment was website states hotel room comes with coffee/tea maker and didnt comes with one had to drive down the street for coffee in the morning.Need to update website, and couldve used better pillows.Other than that stay was nice, had frig and microwave which was good
- Sandy (8/5): - The cabin we stayed in was very clean and cozy. An older , rustic place but good for the night after we attended a concert. Owners were very helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horrible. Cabin falling apart. No ammenities. Full of bugs. Got full refund.
- Artur (8/5): - Good
