Guest Reviews
- Danielle (8/5): -
- Mapp (7/5): Staying in an old school Hotel / Motel was fun - Staying in an old school Hotel Motel was fun
Pub food was good
If only the walls could talk Noise from floor below and a bit of refrigeration noise, having to get up and tell the locals to shut the fk up at 2am having an argument
- rumba (7/5): -
- Loretta Seary (9/5): - The royal hotel is right in the township and IGA shop is right next door The old buildings floor boards are creaking more this time but I know it's out of people's control
- Clayton (6/5): Good location and excellent pub. - Everything that we needed was within a couple hundred meters and the pub below was fantastic. Walls are a bit on the thin side.
- Kirryn (6/5): Did the job - Lovely decor in the room, handy having a wash basin, tea & coffee and fridge
Enjoyed a lovely meal at the Bistro
In Main Street - Next door to IGA Sat outside on Verandah but has netting enclosure to look through and flooring needs a good scrub
Accommodation entry dark and needs a good clean
Toilet and Bathroom areas need a revamp also

- Delwyn (9/5): Good value - The location was in the centre for everything. The staff are very warm and friendly.
- eddy (7/5): For the price, very suitable and comfortable for an old period pub in Qld, with great staff. - Shared bathroom is not always suitable but it was easy to access and clean. Bathroom door hard to shut on Ladies due to age and temperature swelling.
- Tania (8/5): - Everything was great, but staff were rushed and not particularly friendly or helpful. That is my only criticism.
- Susanne (7/5): Good value stay with a comfortable bed and a great, affordable dinner selection. - Dinner was great beds were very comfortable, everything in the room and facilities was clean. I travelled with a work colleague and we booked two separate rooms. Each room had a single bed and a queen bed, and they were located next to each other. We later realised the rooms were separated by a thin divider wall, likely designed so they can be opened up into a larger family room.
While this setup would work really well for families, we did notice that sound travelled quite easily between the rooms. We could hear each other clearly, which meant there was less privacy than expected.
To be fair, we probably could have raised this with reception and requested a room change, and it likely would have been accommodated. However, as we were only staying one night, we both agreed it wasn’t necessary.
Overall, a good option for families, but something to be aware of if you are travelling with colleagues or prefer more sound privacy.

- Leonie (8/5): Convenient and comfortable - The convenience and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom door doesn’t close completely and so can’t be locked to stop others coming in.
- Delwyn (10/5): - The staff are very helpful both on the phone and in person. The big smiles are warm and welcoming. The staff that checked us in and showed us the facilities was very kind and easy to deal with. She explained everything clearly and was very kind to answer my silly questions.

- Chris (8/5): Overall a pleasant stay at a good price. Country towns need our support. - Location was good and all staff I interacted with very pleasant & helpful. Room was clean & comfortable. Meal I had was lovely. Having to share the bathroom was a bit daunting.

- Grant (10/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): - Beautiful comfortable clean room with air-conditioning and TV. Even the shared bathroom/toilet were spotless. I really liked the idea of the basin in the room.
- Grant (10/5): - Everything to be honest. That I had to leave....such a cosy atmosphere & wonderful staff
- Brett (7/5): Great value for money. Good location. - Close to where I need to be.
Clean.
Staff were very professional. A little noisy. But didn’t really bother me.
- K (2/5): Place ok except for staff - Old pub with potential if changed staff. Staff where very rude on check in, big cockroaches in room & my grandson accidentally left something behind in room & i went back in afternoon to see if it was in lost property, the way the lady/staff treated this was so rude, clearly housekeeping stole it.
I work in hospitality and the staff looking after the accommodation need to learn to make people feel welcomed not like criminals. I expected friendly country hospitality but far from it.
- shirley (2/5): Don't stay in a pub - what breakfast. The noise. You could hear people banging and coming up from the pub all night.
- Gail (8/5): - Right in town. Big cockroach in shower ran up my leg.
- Rean (10/5): - I like it in royals coz the rooms, bathroom and shower room are clean. and the staffs are friendly.
It's was a good price for the single rooms. I will recommend Royals to my friends. Nothing I didn't like in Royals

- Danielle (10/5): It was in a good location, convenient, accommodated all of my needs. - The room was cosy, easy access and private.
Bed was very comfy and I have spinal injuries. The room was spotless. Stairs.
- Leonard (8/5): Enjoyable time - Located perfectly in the heart of the town Quite noisy after 9pm when patrons arrive to the upstairs area
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly staff. Magnificent food.
- JOHN (7/5): Ok - Quiet
- Rosella (7/5): -
- Cowboy (10/5): Great location in main street - The location was excellent and the staff were friendly I liked everything
- Meghann (8/5): Great for a single person to stop over for a night with great food and quiet rooms - I loved the tall ceilings with the patterns in them, and the air con in the room made it much more comfortable in the room. The staff were so lovely and helpful and super friendly I didn't love that the amenities were outside on the balcony and were so hot as there was no air flow through them, which wasn't great on stinking hot day, however it could have been worse
- Chantal (9/5): - Nostalgic and clean. Right next to the train/bus station. N/A
- Dustan (8/5): - Good food downstairs and double door security to access the facilities. I liked that. D Not anything I could say. D
- Irene (8/5): - 工作人員服務態度。友善,有禮貎 房內没厠所,淋浴。床褥承托力不夠
- Matildah (10/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): Would certainly recommend - Location and super clean and had all ammenities very comfortable . Friendly staff and love how they had biscuits on arrival!
- Cooper (8/5): Mate it’s 70 bux but it’s alright - Wasn’t expecting much for the price I paid but was pleasantly surprised actually. Room was clean, single bed but comfortable. Staff were great, and the best steak I’ve had since arriving in Australia. No bathroom in the rooms, just a sink.
- Hikaru (8/5): - The location was great and the parking was free.
Each room had its own washbasin, which was nice. I wish the bathrooms and toilets had been separated by gender.
And it wasn’t very safe at night because I had to go outside to use the bathrooms and toilet since there wasn’t one in the room.
- kody (9/5): -
- Chris (7/5): - The consistent thud outside my room every 7 seconds, unsure what it was, possibly air con or ventilation ducts, , possibly the most annoying thing i have ever heard and left me with a very frustrating and sleepless night.
- Goldie (9/5): -
- Goodworth (9/5): Pleaseant stay - Most part, it was excellent. Poor Wi fi, that's because of the network connectivity not the hotel.
- Gennaro (8/5): -
- Grant (8/5): - Good value, you get what you pay for. Good staff. Some bad staff.
- Atheer (10/5): -
- jackson (5/5): -
- Donald (10/5): I would stay again in the future. - Meal was excellent, beer nice and cold.
- ost (8/5): -
- Meghan (9/5): Clean quiet room in central Gatton. - Well appointed rooms, with a huge bathroom, nice decor and great for the price. Staff catered for my late check in and were super helpful in helping me navigate the property. The bathroom was clean and bright, and even though the building is heritage, the rooms and decor were lovely. It felt clean and comfortable and I would happily stay there agin.

- Ros (8/5): Very good - Even though it is a shared bathroom, shampoo, conditioner and body wash was still provided and the towels were beautiful, thick and fluffy excellent quality. Every thing was fine for a short overnight stay.
- Helen (7/5): Good - Location and staff were great The bed sunk in the middle and we were woke with sore backs ,
We were woken at 2 30 am with nosy neighbours

- Melinda (10/5): - If you visit the proud and plentiful Lake Apex region, to embrace A true beg one era of a vibe of Australiana, it is a must to enjoy the hospitality of The Royal. The view is priceless. My fav in Gatton, always, it’s a home away from home for travelers.
- Joshua (5/5): Passable -
- Leigh (9/5): Superb - Great staff soap shampoo conditioner provided and the main thing cheap 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional - Good staff nice pub
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leigh (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (1/5): Not recommended - location The staff took my credit card and driver's licence when checking in. I told them, it was paid via booking.com. They still insisted getting my credit card and then the lady went to another room with my DL/CC. I was not sure what she was doing with them. I tried to ask another staff and was told that she will check with their computer next room. I wasn't comfortable with it. I also didn't any sleep, the aircon and ceiling fan were too loud all night. Never again that I will stay in this place.
