• Hannah (8/5): Lovely, convenient stay & great management! - Location was fantastic for an early morning flight, & the manager offers a free airport shuttle which is SO helpful. Actually, he couldn’t have been more helpful; there was only a 5 bed room left which I booked but when we arrived the manager helped us find an available smaller room which saved us money & also opened up a bigger room for another family - thank you!! Also v comfortable beds, nice amenities & quiet. The only thing to mention is the shower didn’t run warm for us - it may have just been our room, but worth noting as Guatemala City gets a little cold at night!

• Lina (8/5): Complimentary shuttle and super close to the airport - Complimentary shuttle is a big plus. Super close to the airport. Staff member Ramon was friendly and dilligent. It was a bit cold when I stayed and there were no blankets available in my room. I messaged the property in advance letting them know the flight I'll be arriving and they acknowledged it; however, there was no one waiting for me at the airport when I arrived. You'll need to call the property when you arrive at the airport and they'll be there in 5 to 10 minutes. It'd be great to make this instructions clearer beforehand.

Also it is in a gated community which is great however coming in and out with uber or indrive was a problem.

• Pedro (10/5): Ideal hostal for an inevitable stopover in the capital - Ideal place for an inevitable stop in Guatemala City. Our plans did not foresee a stop in the capital, but as our flight, like a large number of international flights, arrived at a very late hour (and spending the night at the airport was not an option, as it closes for a few hours at dawn), we had to look for a hotel close to the airport, which would allow us to board a shuttle (in our case to Panajachel) the next day. Clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff, 24-hour reception, free transport to and from the airport, located within a guarded condominium, and complete breakfast with flexible hours (our shuttle arrived at the hotel at 6:30, and the breakfast lunch could be served before), made Euro Hostal the ideal place for this stopover in Guatemala City. All this at a competitive price. Recommended. -

The best way to communicate with them is through WhatsApp at 502 5626 5183. You tell them when you are going to arrive to give them a heads up and then when you are outside, they will be there in 5 minutes. I suggest having them send you a picture of their car so you know what you are looking for and give them a description of where you will be waiting. The airport has free wifi so you can easily communicate through WhatsApp. Nothing

The room was comfortable and we had a private bathroom. Perfect for one night before a flight! They advertise a free breakfast but it was white sliced bread with Kraft cheese singles and strawberry jam. If you wanted something more substantial you had to pay. Not the end of the world as there was still "free" food arguably, but still wanted to share so others know what to expect :)

For me the shuttle service was a bit confusing, because I had to write a message when I already was outside the airport. It took them a few minutes to answer and then somebody picked me up, so it did work! But I would like it better if the shuttle was confirmed beforehand.

I booked it because it was near the airport and had a free shuttle I could take early morning. The man who checked me in was friendly and helpful and was the same person who drove us to the airport early morning. So thank you to him. My main issue was the struggle to actually get into the place as it’s a gated private road with security guards. I even came in a shuttle from another part of Guatemala and the security wouldn’t let the driver through! Even though he showed his badge etc- and they said I’d have to go through on my own but it was far from that gate. So thankfully they persevered in insisting on taking me to the door. As a solo female traveller, this made me feel really uncomfortable- along with how the place is inside. Like a motel - and there wasn’t a window in the bathroom, just mosquito net. So it was cold, especially to shower in the morning 🥶
