Delicious breakfast served every morning on the screened in porch by the very friendly staff. Beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was great, too. Thoughtful touches like ice already made in the freezer. Only downside was since it’s a dog-friendly hotel, we could hear barking next door to us til late one night, and the walls are quite thin. But otherwise, 10/10, we will definitely try to come again for a beach weekend!

It took about 45 minutes to get into the room because I had to call the on call manager, then he had to call someone else to get the keys. Otherwise, great area and building. Great breakfast.

April (6/5): - Ocean View Inn overall was a nice place to stay. However, check-in, breakfast and ice were all across the street at their sister property - not terribly convenient. The room was small but pleasant with a good sized bathroom. Beware though! If you have limited mobility, think twice before booking. Our room was on the 3rd floor, up a long, very steep staircase to the 2nd floor. Then two more short staircases to the 3rd floor. I booked through Expedia so I didn’t know which floor our room was on. If I were to book again, I would call the property directly. My bed was fine but my mother said her bed was uncomfortable. Also, the wall right next to her bed was quite hot. And all night I could hear a beeping sound. Our host was helpful and pleasant and there’s a cute sitting room on the first floor. It’s also a 2-minute walk to the beach and only five or six minutes walking time to downtown. For the room we got and its location on the 3rd floor, it was a moderate value for the money. A bit overpriced in my opinion.
Jere (10/5): Greetings From Asbury Park! - Ocean View is a charming, restored Victorian (actually, TWO Victorians as we found out) set a quick walk from the shore and the Asbury Park boardwalk. Our room was in the building across the street from the one pictured. While the room was "cosy," it didn't feel small, and it and the bathroom were redone in classic colors and appointments. No view to speak of, but we were only there for one night and spent most of our time touring the boardwalk and the shopping park in Ocean Grove. Breakfast was in the main building and offered a variety of treats. The hotel is set on a beautiful, broad expanse that leads to the ocean and the boardwalk. If you're a Springsteen fan, you owe it to yourself to walk the full length, up through and past the convention center to find all the locations in the song "Sandy." The only caveats are parking and accessibility. Parking is on the street, so be sure to read the signs so you don't get a ticket. Also, there is no elevator and the stairs are from another era: steep and narrow. Getting your bags up and down might prove challenging if you have a disability or are out of shape. We were fortunate to travel during the off-season. According to some of the locals, the whole place becomes a zoo during the summer. Would gladly stay again for the charm and the location.

Rooms at the Inn were clean and well stocked. They were however small. Hallways and staircases were narrow. Because of the age of the building cooling was done by window air conditioners. The unit was louder than I would have liked. A power bar for charging cell phones, etc would have been nice.A breakfast was served in the inn next door. It was enjoyable as an overnight stay, but I would find a longer stay there to be challenging.

It overlooks a quiet green very near the beach with a short walk to restaurants and amenities in nearby Asbury Park. Room comfortable and clean, small fridge, A/c worked well. Breakfast on open terrace; menu changes daily but made a special request. Only disappointed our room had no view so we’ll be aware next time we book.
Verified traveler (10/5): - The entire town of Ocean Grove was immaculate and the hotel, which is well kept and had books and other amenities, had recycle bins and was also equipped with a bike rack where we could securely lock our rented bikes. The hotel is so close to the beach we could nip down to watch the sunrise, come back for breakfast and then go swim. Lovely place.

Ronald (10/5): Great for a family vacation - Had a great time with my wife and 3 young adult daughters over Labor Day weekend. Convenient to the beach and to the town shops and restaurants. The staff was very cooperative with all our requests. Nice breakfast and snacks provided.
