Guest Reviews
- Carolyn (10/5): - We had such an amazing view and stay. At check-out we decided to stay 1 more night. We have found our new weekend get away.
- Brian (10/5): - The views from the room are amazing and the quietness you experience during your stay. We saw plenty of wildlife as well (deer, turkey, etc)
- Frank (4/5): - Best thing was the awesome lake view from our room. Both ice machines were broken , house keeping never came, the rooms could have been cleaner . Restaurant closed, bar closed. Like I said the only good thing was the lake view from our room.
- WARREN (10/5): Room ratings - Awesomeness ❤️
- michael (2/5): Not a great experience - We rented 2 rooms. Neither one had hot water. We had to take cold showers. The ice machine was broken and the room was dirty. Our patio had a half smoked cigar on it.
- Becky (6/5): - Such a beautiful location yet more attention needed to facilities
- Elizabeth (6/5): - This property is not ADA accessible by any means!!!!!
- james (4/5): - The food was excellent bed was ok the ac unit was really loud
- Noah (4/5): - Fire alarm went off at 4:30 in the morning no fire system malfunction
- Camila (8/5): - Good hotel! I just didn't like the cleanliness of my room.
- Richard (10/5): - Dated but very pleasant especially sitting while watching deer and the lake. Food is unavailable weekdays at lodge but available for lunch and dinner at the dock, and good. Alcohol is better skipped at their bar.
- CHRISTA (8/5): - We live the lake.
- Pamela (10/5): - It was beautiful and relaxing
- Olivia (8/5): - Overall, we had a great stay. The staff were friendly, and while the facilities could use some updates, everything was clean and well-kept. The beds were surprisingly comfortable after a long day on the lake. Would stay again!
- Stephen (10/5): Can’t wait to come back!!! - Perfect location, loved the room (especially the ceilings) , front desk was a sweetheart!! Bed was comfortable and big!!!
- Chris (4/5): - First of all the only pleasant thing during our stay was the staff. We booked 2 nights with Expedia for $300. When we got there our room was very musty and didn’t have a refrigerator. The staff was able to move us to another room but wasn’t able to upgrade us to one with a refrigerator because we used Expedia to book the room. The lodge restaurant, mini golf, and camp store were closed both days we were there. Basically nothing opens until Thursday. The ice machine was out of order and the WiFi/internet was down. We will never stay here again!
- randy (4/5): - Best thing was breakfast overlooking lake. Plumbing problems and bed bugs
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely
- Sloane (2/5): - Due to weather (which I understand) the lodge was closed and I couldn't stay but no one told me at any point just had to try and figure out a place to stay somewhere else once I got there
- Scott (6/5): - I know it’s not the properties fault but the storms, loss of power from 1am until we left at 6am and main road being blocked by a fallen tree that almost caused us to miss our fishing tournament our stay was not a fun experience
- Leslie (10/5): - Beautiful area & loved the resort, we will be back!
- Becky (10/5): - Very peaceful area. Beautiful views. Staff was friendly and helpful!
- Gary (10/5): - I love the view of lake Cumberland
- Ryan (10/5): Totally awesome! - Absolutely perfect as usual. My family and I have stayed here multiple times and plan to again. Room is always clean comfortable and quiet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Beautiful grounds and wildlife. Highly recommend!
- Brenda (6/5): - Didn’t know all rooms doesn’t have microwave or refrigerator and the restaurant on property not open to the tenant have to go fifteen miles just to go get something to eat.
- Laura (10/5): - We came slightly off-season so it was so peaceful, we feel like we have found a Jen. We were only gonna stay for one night, but extended it to two because the Lake view out our balcony was breathtaking.
- Aaron (10/5): - Check in and check out was smooth. Very clean!
- Murat (8/5): - After having a shower water remains in the bath tub. Cleaning staff should be more careful about letting know the front desk.
- Angela (6/5): - .
- MD JAHIDUR (6/5): - The rooms were not clean. In the game room, items were broken and some items were not available.
- Blair (6/5): - The view is lovely. But there’s no food and no ice. (The restaurant is closed and the ice machine is broken). I had to drive 36 miles round trip to get fast food and a cold drink after a long workday.
- Joann (10/5): - Lake veiw
- Linda (8/5): - Room was clean, bed was ok.
The restaurant had only buffets when we were there. Food was ok.
- Linda (8/5): - A beautiful place to get away
- Brittany (2/5): - There was no one to check us in called the number on the door no one ever called me back
- Stephanie (10/5): Youve got to try this place PERFECT - You have to try this place if you're ever near there. The staff everyone is awesong. Our waiter at the restawhat's the best. We can't remember his name. But I know his first name started with the W you have a Marina you have a bar. You have a restaurant. They have an outside pool and inside pull table ping pong table.
And? They have a little store also in the park!! They have made this an actual resort. You don't have to leave the park. Anything you need is right there.
None of the rooms are with the lodge. Because I know some people don't want the staff right there underneath them. It's room and the section we had had balconies that showed a view of the lake. You can rent boats, you can rent skis. You can rent jetski's absolutely awesome if you ever round there and you got the money tried out and it's not expensive at all. The staff are great. You need anything that got you probably one of the best places I've been in a long, long time. It is absolutely beautiful! Also beware. There is animals around and they're used to people. Nothing attacked us or anything like that bur the deer will walk right up to you i wouldn't recommend trying to pet them because you never know how their going to react!
- Ryan (10/5): Love it! - Clean, comfortable and quiet. Love it. Highly recommend it and we plan to stay here again. Staff very friendly and helpful as well.
- Gary (10/5): Beautiful lake setting - Excellent lodge in a scenic location
- Deana (8/5): Nice clean place but needs updating alot - It was good. Needs updating
- Robert (6/5): - *
- Cindy (8/5): - Needs to be updated. Area was quiet and nice.
- Michelle (10/5): - Our room at the lodge was clean, comfortable and roomy. It was nice having a balcony overlooking the lake! We enjoyed the in door pool and hot tub! Will definitely be staying again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had a 2 day stay at the Lodge and was so pleased with the staff. The front desk folks were super nice and even contacted me during a tornado warning to insure I was safe! I was super disappointed in what was referred to as a Breakfast Buffet--there were only waffles and instant cereals with bread. I don't mind that sort of breakfast, but was charged 7.98 plus tax for a bowl of frosted flakes and a bagel. Simply unacceptable. that sort of breakfast is included with most hotel stays. There were simply no food options other than that on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you stay there, please bring your own food and a cooler--no refrigerators in the rooms either.
- Gerri (10/5): - The room needs updated
- Thomas (10/5): - Staff was excellent! Wonderful view from our room. Nice, quiet weekend.
- Jane (6/5): - They charged almost $14 for the type of breakfast that's usually free at all other places we have stayed.
The supper menu was VERY limited, & it was terrible. But there's no places close to eat. We learned our lesson, & made sure we were closer to town so we could have decent meals. Which was inconvenient because we would have liked to relax & enjoy the wonderful scenery at the lodge.
The room was a nice size, clean & comfortable.
A place we won't return though, due to the restaurant.
- Larry (10/5): - Lake Cumberland is so beautiful and so calming. Lure Lodge is one of my favorite lodging destinations.
The property is starting to show age in a couple areas, but also retains the charm.
- Terrence (10/5): - Na
- Paulette (4/5): - Food for dinner was terrible!
- Anthony (6/5): - Very old facility, clean and quiet. Great place to stay over for a day or two. Beautiful area to explore. Staff very friendly.
- Rebecca (10/5): - It was a beautiful and relaxing lodge.
- James (8/5): - Staff was super nice. The entire lodge was very clean.
The indoor pool had very strong chlorine odor, almost over whelming so we didn’t swim in it.
The continental breakfast was expensive and no protein foods. Waffles , wrapped pastries , cereal. We had to ask for yogurt and were given 1 kid size sweetened yogurt per person .
1/2 of our party decided against eating breakfast there.
No healthy options, besides an apple. People were leveling the dining room after seeing what was offered.
If the breakfast was better and the pool was not over loaded with chlorine, I would give it a better review.
Again the staff was amazing ! Very nice.
- Brittney (10/5): - Property is old. Needs updating and needs to be cleaned better. Beds comfortable and food was good.
- Lynne (8/5): Will be back - We were very disappointed that the lodge restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner on Monday and Tuesday.
Because our room had no fridge or microwave, we had to cut our stay short, since there was nowhere within an hour to get something to eat.
When we were checking out, the lady was extremely helpful and we found out that there were actually rooms available with a fridge and microwave.
We will definitely be back. The hot tub was the nicest I have ever seen.
The indoor pool was also very nice.
The view from the lodge restaurant was to die for, if it had just been open.
- Nancy (8/5): - It’s a beautiful place to distress if you are into nature but you have to prepare if you are staying a few days food places are limited to one and only certain days
- Alexis (10/5): - We had a lodge king suite and it was nice. It had a microwave, and fridge and a nice view. The cold air can only go down to 68 degrees. The room was clean, HOWEVER THEY DO NOT SERVICE YOUR ROOM IN BETWEEN NIGHTS STAYED. You will need to go to the front desk to get more soap, towels, coffee, etc. - Nobody can or will bring you those items. The phone doesn't work in the room so you will need to use your cell if you need anything. If you want to go to the state dock from the lodge, there is a shuttle that will pick you up and you can get the number from the front desk. There is not a lot of signage or information on anything anywhere so you have to ask constantly.
The restaurant was basic food and overpriced. You need to pay for milk in the morning for your cereal, FYI. But then note it takes 15 to 30 mins to get to the nearest restaurant.
The staff working for the restaurant and front desk were amazing. They were all kind and informative and just great people.
The PERCH didn't have any activities we could do for the weekend we stayed which was REALLY SAD because I even called ahead. We did do the mini golf which was fun, but is $5 per person.
The park itself was not upkept which is both the park and publics fault. There was trash everywhere and basic rules weren't being followed. For example, we stopped at the overlook and there was trash, carvings on the tables, the smell of urine, and the weeds/ greenery was unkept.
The state resort, lake, and county are overmarketed by
- Adam (8/5): - The staff were all excellent and, the pool and lake was a as always! My only complain is; if you stay at the state lodge, there is no mini refrigerator or microwave..
- Patricia D (2/5): - We never made it to Lake Cumberland. We ended up at Cumberland Falls. Asked directions three times and we ended up at Cumberland Falls a second time. So we changed it to Cumberland Falls. Sure I would have had more fun at Cumberland Lake because I like to fish. Maybe next time.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The first room that was given to me didn't have a refrigerator and microwave so we have to upgrade and pay an additional price. They didn't have enough bath towels in the pool area so i have to go out of the building to go to the lobby to get some towels because the phone in the pool area is not working. The restaurant is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so i need to travel about 20 miles to eat my meals. The only good thing they did was to accomodate us about an hour early to check in.
- Mary Jane (10/5): - Beautiful with lots of activities available for guest...2 pools, archery shooting area, tennis court....
- Chase (8/5): - Best thing about the room was the large balcony with a great view of the lake. The view made up for any short falls in room quality.
- John (8/5): Trip stopover - The trail near the lodge needs to be marked. The trail map showed that paths we could not find.
Dinner was good and quite reasonably priced.
- Aaron (10/5): - The grounds are very clean with a beautiful lake view. I stay here every year while fishing the lake.
- Jason (10/5): - Nice.
- Charles (8/5): We Love this Lodge - Nice pool & hot tub, but no fridge or microwave in room. We stay here at least 4 or 5 times per year on our way from Ohio to southern Tennessee.
- Brian (10/5): Heaven on earth!! - Absolutely beautiful here!!!
- Eduard (8/5): - Everything is good but there is no possibility to make a barbecue.
- Claudia (10/5): - Great view, restaurant, location
- Gayle (10/5): - View was stunning! Room was clean. Plenty of room. Friendly staff all around!
- JULIE (10/5): - Relaxing place. Love it! ❤️
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful area. The staff is wonderful. Buildings are old, but clean. Could use handicap accessible update. There are stairs everywhere.
- Virgil (10/5): - Had a great time. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home
- Brian (10/5): - Our stay here was very good. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are beautiful and the beds comfortable.
- Cloey (10/5): - Good
- joe (8/5): - Off season but 1 out of 4 ice machines worked ant hot tub was out of order. Will visit again, good off season rates.
- Darian (10/5): A very pleasant stay on my way through! - Amazing views, clean rooms and friendly staff.
- Michael (8/5): - Cumberland lake is a beautiful area and the Kentucky State Park resort was very nice. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean.
- Douglas (8/5): Excellent place to atay - Clean , awesome view over the lake from balcony in rooms. Very friendly staff.
- janet (10/5): - I think the hardest thing for us was finding things to do. i wanted so much to be out on the water but we couldn't find enough information for this to happen. We also wanted to go to the Cumberland Falls but two hours was too far to drive when we had been driving a lot already. So we did finally end up getting directions to Rock Bottom, to the dam, and to Jamestown. We loved Reel Java in Jamestown and we also loved the food at Coe's in Russell Springs...Our visit was so peaceful and rejuvenating...thank you all. the Carlsons.i wish the whirlpool would have been filled and open for use.
- Shirley (10/5): Spreading Ashes - AMAZING!!!
- Teresa (10/5): - Beautiful scenery
- Diane (10/5): - The resort was very tranquil with a beautiful view of the lake and wild life. We loved the deck and comfort of the room. The young man who checked me in was very nice and allowed us to check in early since there were rooms available. The shuttle which transported us to the dock was a bonus. I really wish we had booked the room for longer.
- Marykay (6/5): Beautiful views but outdated facilities. - Views were beautiful. Lodge is outdated. It’s Summer and everything closes way early. Room was very dated and not very clean. Bathroom had hair on the floor and in the tub.
- Kenita (10/5): - We had a good visit. The lake is beautiful and everyone was very friendly.
- Katana (10/5): - Very well-maintained and clean. Beautiful surroundings. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was great and the nearby marina was fun. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
- Aaron (8/5): - I did see some bugs in the bathroom but next to the lake it probably attracts them. The wildlife was beautiful as well as the lake. The broken phone in the room didn't look very nice. Overall I enjoyed my time in the area.
- Neelam (10/5): - Very nice property! Would be nice to have some more dining options nearby. Buffet is good and reasonably priced but sometimes you just want to order a la carte.
- Teresa (8/5): Quick getaway. - Stayed overnight and the location was quiet and peaceful, and the view was beautiful. Our room was clean but dated. Check in was fast and courteous. The only issue was the cafe, l assumed there would be menu options looking on the webpage. However, the only two options at the supper meal were the limited salad bar and taco bar. I was disappointed that no other options were available, as no other restaurants were available for miles.
- Phoebe (10/5): - This was a great lodge to visit. Nice staff and comfy beds! Beautiful view and property.
- JANIS (10/5): - beautiful lake views; swimming pool and hot tub very nice
- Peggy (4/5): - Got here about an hour and half before check in and was told the room was not ready and they would call. Went up to front desk at 4 pm and finally got room even though no one had called.
The only restaurant on the property was only serving a buffet meal so you couldn’t get anything but that.
- Ryan (10/5): Awesome Hotel - Highly recommend this hotel! Room very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Friendly staff and no complaints whatsoever. Plan to stay again.
- Daniel (10/5): We came around the bed and I saw it was awesome gr - We came around the bed and I saw it was awesome great time
- Amanda (10/5): - Lure lodge had been without electric for five days. The lodge staff still went above and beyond for our family.
- Christine (10/5): - The restaurant was closed, apparently for a private party and the closest food was 30 minutes away - no one delivers there so be prepared
- Susan (10/5): - Great place
- Susan (10/5): - Great stay. Could be a little better for handicapped.
- Michael (8/5): - The lodge is nice. Kentucky parks can make it nicer with better furnishings. Comfy chairs, a roaring fire in that big fireplace….it’s not just for adv photos!
- Marcy (10/5): - Beyond what I expected
- Anita (10/5): - We had a gorgeous lake view with a very nice back patio. The lodge dining was excellent and the staff was so accommodating and so very kind! Check in and out was very efficient! The two things that stood out was the view of the lake while dining and how friendly the dining staff were!
