Guest Reviews
- ROBERT (6/5): - Was ok
- FREDERICK (2/5): - Unclean and dark
- David (2/5): - We did not stay at this motel. We did check in, went to the room, took one step in and then checked. The smell was atrocious, and the walls were cracking. We used to pass this place constantly when we lived in NJ and it always looked presentable. Never again.
- Brian (4/5): - Mold in the bathroom
- Douglas (2/5): - Horrificly dirty
- Alfonse (2/5): - Old, stained sheets, cigarette burns on blanket
- Randy (4/5): Poor value - The motel is old and run down. The grounds are overgrown and messy. The room seemed to be clean but there was peeling paint and doors broken etc. The biggest aggravation was that we would have to run the water for 10-15 minutes before we could get it hot and then it reeked of sulphur. Probably was nice once upon a time but those days are long gone and the price paid was way too high even for Labor Day weekend.
- Carly (2/5): - This was literally the most disgusting hotel
I’ve ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in 100’s)
The shower head was broken and hanging down, off the broken handle, not to mention there was no hot water at all. The door had been kicked in, so it felt very unsafe to lock. It smelled horrible-like fake rose and burnt nagchampa. The inside was super dirty, and the outside looked like it should be used to film a horror movie about crack and vampires. Basically this is an absolute $hit-he. It was $144 of hell.
- Alexis (2/5): - Not family oriented
- Dennis (6/5): - Pretty basic but wholly acceptable,
- Aleshanee (2/5): - I thought this would be a cute place to stay by myself since it was in the middle of a "ritzy" part of the town (i.e. golf course, brewery, farmers market, old folks home). But it ended up being a crack den. Everything was incredibly dirty and junkies were hanging around outside. Do not book! Photos online are from years ago.
- Noel (4/5): - property run down, office does not pick up when calling from outside no drinking cups
- 617theresec (2/5): I would NEVER everrrrrrrr stay here again. It’s gross, the water stinks every time you turn it on. - Let me just begin with we weren’t able to turn on the water without wanting to regurgitate! The shower was the worse. It smelled the soured fish water. We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth and wash our face. We didn’t realize it until after we’d showered but the smell stayed on our skin for the entire day just to wash it off and add a new coat of stench that stays on your body all day. No housekeeping. The comforter was what looked to be a curtain! The refrigerator barely worked. It was not a pleasant experience at all.
- Crystal (2/5): - Absolutely disgusting.
- Kevin (2/5): Photos do not represent the hotel - This hotel does not match the photos. The photos made it look nice and clean and this hotel was far from it. The ceiling was peeling and there was a cigarette burn on the sheet. I ended up not staying there and drove 3 hours to my next hotel and checked in early
- Randall (4/5): - Staff was friendly and the room was clean but the whole place was very run down with paint peeling in the rooms and a very strong sulfur smell coming from the water. Outside was also run down with a couple of derelict cars in the parking area and a pool with no water in it
- Herby (6/5): - There was no soap for showering, the water was smelling
- Diana (4/5): - Old. Desperately needs renovations. Smelled musty. Ice cold shower. Very slippery shower tiles are dangerous. No ice machine.
- Randall (2/5): - When first entering the room there was a mildew smell, the only outlet in the bathroom would not work, tried to take a shower the water smelled like rotten eggs, sheets on the bed had huge stains stay away stay away!!!!!!
- Patricia (2/5): - Terrible condition. Burn hole in "bedspread". No blanket. No extra toilet paper. No washcloths. Paint pealing. Wouldn't recommend or go back. Outlet in bathroom didn't work. Very, very disappointed..
- thomas (4/5): - Shower didn't work no hot water
- Sheila (2/5): - The photos make the rooms look way better than they actually are. Don’t stay here. We did not feel safe and actually left early.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid if you can - When I checked in the smell in the small lobby was horrible (like fried food). I was greeted by a man in rags who spoke no English. I had to facetime his son on the phone to register. The walls of the room were dirty and there was duct tape around the door lock and the entry wall. The room reeked of Airwick. We could not turn the security lock. There was no Wifi and the tv didn't work, nor were there any drinking glasses or cups. My husband had trouble turning on the shower, as the handle seemed stuck. The pillows were flat and there was only a very thin spread over the sheet. We only stayed there because we were desperate as most other places were booked on a Saturday night.
- Angelica (4/5): No - Room since you first entered had a smell. Next go in bathroom shower head has rust all on it. Toilet clogged & Not to mention the. “Jacuzzi” really sucked. Water had a bad smell , the tubb stain on the blankets . Ugh not happy at all.
- Roxanne (4/5): - The furnitures were very ancient, The bathroom water too very long to get hot. The sink pipe was broken, & the bed was uncomfortable $ the blanket had cigarette holes in it,
- Joseph (2/5): - You get what you pay for. Rundown property
- Joseph (2/5): - The building and lots needs lot of maintenance and the office was dark and dismal. The rooms werent any better. TV had very few channels and was very dark. Would not ever stay here again or refer it.
- Lisa (4/5): - While the staff was very nice, this hotel is very rundown and in need of repairs. For example, the area between the window and the screen was loaded with spiderwebs. The faucet in the bathroom was not attached to the sink so when you turned it on it wiggled all over the place. There were no washcloths provided. The blow dryer that they provided didn’t work or the outlet didn’t work, I’m not sure which. The pool was empty, and the pool area was overgrown. The blanket on the bed had four or five cigarette burn holes in it. The toilet paper sat on the counter because there was no spool for it in the toilet paper holder. A lot of these are very simple things to fix, but apparently they don’t care.
- Michael (2/5): - Did feel safe they had duct tape on the door which made it hard to open and close. Couldn’t open the door to leave room. Every sheet, pillow case, comforter, towel were stained.
- Shane (6/5): - This place is aweful. From the time we arrived, til the time we left. Old, dingy, in disrepair, shower didn't work, door busted, flat pillows, wrinkled sheets..... Just aweful. Wont stay here again!
- Isabel (2/5): - Property owners very nice. Unfortunately run down, poor quality. Facility looks like it is a shelter.
- IAN (4/5): - Would not recommend
- Tania (10/5): - I didn't like none operating pool!
Did like they had hot water!!!
- Kimberly (6/5): - Not like the pictures at all. Outdated and dirty
- Marilyn (2/5): - NASTY PLACE
- Vincent (6/5): - Bathroom faucet was leaking and it took a long time for the hot water to come on
- Connie (2/5): - Horrible place
- Debra (2/5): - Old scuffed and marked dressers. Tattered and frayed furniture that I was afraid to sit on. Doors off closet, Hot water not working right. Scuffed, gouged and poorly painted walls. Disgusting empty pool. Junk piled up on walkway. I did not feel safe here. Had to switch rooms because the first was so bad. The second was not much better. Manager pleasant, but hard to understand.
- Randall (6/5): - Property wasn’t as bad as I expected based on the reviews. The facilities are definitely rundown and not maintained at all. But the bed was comfortable and both the AC and the shower worked. Despite being horribly run down the room and bathroom were clean so overall for the price it wasn’t the worst place I ever stayed at. Staff although surly was quick and efficient.
- Jeff (4/5): - Hot water took 15 minutes to come on. No room service. No coffee service
- Greg (4/5): - Very run down, poorly maintained rooms.
- Gabriel (4/5): - No cable?? The shower had no hot water!!
- Jennifer (2/5): - The smell coming from the bathroom the bathtub is horrible. I couldn’t even take a shower because the water is brown. That’s how dirty I looked. It was horrible. Would never stay there ever again. Wish I could get reimbursed for my money.
- Edmund (4/5): - Was clean enough. If you only need a place to sleep this is OK. Obviously nothing has been invested in the upkeep foe a while.
- Edmund (2/5): - One of the worst motels that I’ve ever been into the sink had a big piece of duct tape hiding a crack, very noisy the swimming pool was empty, and junk was sitting in it. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The pillows were dirty.💩💩💩💩💩
- Gina (2/5): - Look elsewhere! This place was awful. The ice machine was broken. The floors appeared clean but walking around with bare feet for 5 minutes, my feet were black! The bed was like a rock. Paint and plaster peeling and falling off the walls. The water smelled horrible, stunk up the whole room.
Got back from dinner with friends the first night and the cops were there. I paid for 2 nights but left after the first night. Pretty sure this is a welfare hotel that has some empty rooms once in a while.
- William (2/5): - No phone in room, no coffee maker in room, No no continental
- Barry (2/5): - Horrible service
Unfriendly, dirty
- Chris (10/5): - Staff is really nice. Safe Quiet Place to Spend a Couple Nights
- joseph (2/5): - LIKED NOTHING
TOOK FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER
CEILING IN BATHROOM NEEDS TO GET FIXED
COMFORTER DIRTY
- Dave (2/5): - Filthy place and nasty person at front desk...holes in walls in room and disgusting smell. Empty pool with junk in it.
Do not stay here...worst ever
- Kenny (8/5): - Good not great
- Nilakanta (6/5): - value
- Johan (2/5): - All I can say it is not for me. Too many people the room was horrible I had to drop my TV on the wall it was hanging sideways. Bathroom extremely small in order for me to take a dump I had to leave the door open so my knees could have room. Did not have a good night's rest
- Dianne (2/5): - No hot water faucet in sink broken tub dirty room dingy and pealing wal paper felt unsafe did not stay the second night. Refused to refund my chsrge for 2nd night
- John (6/5): - The room was probably cleaned but you wouldn’t know it by the condition of the room. The bathroom has been renovated but the rest of the room looked like it hasn’t been touched since the 80’s. The closet door was off the rollers completely and was just sitting there. The bed mattress is horrible. But if you need an inexpensive room for the night, this is your place
- Daniel (2/5): Worst hotel i ever stayed in - It was horrible there qas holes in the wall tv was not working it was very dusty everywhere veey thin pillows no blankets sink and bathtub not working properly door to get in had duck tape we checked in late and had to wake up the clerk was sleeping i will never stay there again
- Asianna (10/5): - Good
- Sandy (6/5): - Not a clean place
- Deborah (4/5): - Expedia had a 4/4.5 rating…no way possible. The bedding sheet had cigarette burns and the bedspread was dirty. No smoke detector! Bathroom had no heat and was freezing. Closet door was off. Molding was missing or broken off. Outside gutters were clogged, pool had plants growing in it. Door entering the office was dirty.
- G ALAN (2/5): - First impression-needs major overhaul
No glass ware
No hot water
No ice
Lights are so low- tough to see anything
Didn't see a phone
the soap in bathroom was so old it didn't release much soap
The front door looked like it could be easily be opened by force
- MariceAnn (2/5): DON’t stay here - This is the worst place! I ended up leaving after an hour. No amenities. Left something behind, called the hotel. He said he would court look but never called back call.walls chipped and smashed in. Yellow rings in toilet and tub. Trouble getting hot water until mgr checked the boiler. So very bad.
- Mitchel (2/5): - The shower is nasty, stink shower water. I reserved it for 80 they charged me 100 for a nasty log
- Verified traveler (2/5): The room was freezing - I tried to turn the heater on and it barely circulated air. The blankets looked very worn. There was duct tape on the door. The parking lot was not plowed. There were cars with snow still on them. Like are people living there? I a strong independent woman, lol, but I was frightened. I checked out and drove away.
- Michelle (2/5): - First checking in young man was very rude got to the room. Had issues getting in the door went back down to him. He started screaming. I told him I said I’m just tired. I’ve had a long ride for four hours. Not my problem with this answer and start screaming and telling me to calm down because I was just tired and frustrated and wanted to lay down shower, anyhow you wanted to give me back my refund at this time I was very very tired. I needed to rest my head. I have been driving for four hours. However when I got in the room there was a poly dirt sitting in the front door corner that was swept there instead of vacuuming up. The front door was taped with duct tape on the inside There was hair in the bathroom sink and the toilet bowl water was brown getting the hot water to run it took it half hour to heat up the chair only has three wheels ones missing almost fell over my overall experience. I’ve done a lot of travel and been in hotels but for 100 and what I paid 125. The service was disgusting all over Will never recommend this placed anyone
- poojan766452 (10/5): Holiday saving motel - Village Inn has the best pricing for the night out weekend for a family of 2-3. They have good services for housekeeping and cleanliness is their main focus. They have good amount of parking spots and they are close by to major highway routes and city malls.
That’s the best spot to live in for this upcoming holidays.
- 789misterm (10/5): Great stay - Had a great stay here. The room was very clean compared to other places I've been and the staff was very attentive. It was easy to check in and the stay was peaceful in a nice quiet area. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone else if they are in the area.
- patcrikk (10/5): Review written Patrick Egan - The gentleman that worked at the front desk was very helpful the rooms were clean and housekeeping was right on point very clean and quiet place to stay and again to God the gentleman at the front desk is very helpful.... makes it easier waiting for repairs to new place to be done
- 72deepp (10/5): A Convenient Haven After the PNC Concert - My recent stay at The Village Inn in Colts Neck, following a fantastic concert at PNC Bank Arts Center, turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant experience.
The room, while not lavish, boasted unexpected perks. The spaciousness caught me off guard – it wasn't your typical cramped motel space. The sofa was a pleasant surprise, providing a cozy spot to unwind after the night's festivities. It's those little touches that make a stay memorable.
Speaking of comfort, the beds lived up to the promise of a good night's sleep. The simplicity of the room was its charm, and everything was neatly arranged. The convenience of having a decent-sized room made it feel less like a pit stop and more like a comfortable retreat.
Another standout feature was the parking situation. Convenience is key, and The Village Inn delivered. Ample parking space meant no stress over finding a spot after returning from the concert. That may not sound like a big deal, but after a night of music, a hassle-free parking experience was a welcome bonus.
The proximity to PNC Bank Arts Center remained a major selling point. The short distance meant a quick return after the concert, avoiding the headache of post-event traffic. It made the whole overnight stay a breeze, especially when you just want to kick back and relax without the worry of a lengthy journey home.
In conclusion, The Village Inn, with its unexpectedly spacious rooms, comfy sofa, and hassle-free parking, proved to be more than just a practical stopover. It added a touch of comfort and ease to the post-concert experience, making it a spot worth considering for those seeking a convenient and comfortable stay.
- P7304ILmikew (10/5): Great and comfortable stay - Friendly staff and spacious rooms made my stay here pleasant. I was here for 3 nights and had a comfortable stay. The place is clean and neat. Great location close to the highway. Would stay here again.
- Annybell (4/5): - The room was clean enough I guess. The bed was awful felt broken in the middle I was afraid to sleep on it. The sheets had cigarette burns in them I slept on top of all the blankets. The shower had no hot water and we didn’t even get a little shampoo there was a half used one left in there from someone else’s stay. Definitely not worth the 103 and change I spent will not be back
- William (2/5): - I found a bug in my bed. Tnere were cigarette burns on bed cover. The first room didn't any hot water.
- travispU2350RK (2/5): Solo - Wouldn't advise this as a place to stay for anyone horrible condition looks extremely run down terrible all around no other words to describe it I traveled over an hour only to be completely dissatisfied on all levels and they charged my card on top of my horrible experience I didn't even stay there
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a good stay - The bed was very hard, And I went home with a bad back. The door Latch and lock were screwed up, you had to slam the door to close it. And I had no hot water the morning that I left.
- Lorraine (8/5): - It was an over night stay !!! We Went to a concert and didnt want to drive home
- Patricia (10/5): - Nothing
- CEFERINO (4/5): - Nice looking, clean well kept outside
Smelly inside with cockroaches in our room! Definitely not the cleanest hotel.
- Kirk (2/5): - Old, dirty, smelly
- Allen (2/5): - The hotel office door had an old tatterred sign "no mask no service" but the place was so run-down including an empty pool full of weeds several feet high and a parking lot full of stray cats that I laughed at the sign. There was no hot water in the shower and the curtain was moldy at the bottom. The sheets were clean but had cigarrette holes. The staff was polite but I could barely understand him due to a heavy accept (I don't hold that against him). I would have left except there was nothing else close by with availability.
- Elise (4/5): - Smelled horrible, dirty, not enjoyable
- Flor (2/5): - We tried two different rooms and couldn’t believe how bad this place is. At least they gave us a refund.
- Karl T (4/5): - Place is an absolute shyt hole. Amazing it's in one of the richest towns in America
- Chris (4/5): - It wasn't the beat kept place. The room was too warm after a hot day. The air-conditioner only was good if you were right next to it. Not going to be a second stay.
- Troy (6/5): Very disappointed. - No water in pool. In fact there was a plant growing in it. Bugs crawling in the bathroom. Smelled like a combination of smoke and ammonia. Not very happy!
- Cathy (4/5): - The room was dirty, rusty, windows didnt lock, the bed was very hard and felt broken underneath us . Wont be back
- Sasson (10/5): - Only wifi bad
- Falicia (4/5): - This property had duck tape on the door, the shower barley worked took forever to figure out. The pool was filled in by weeds and cats are all around the property. The best part of this place was the toilet paper.
- von (2/5): - Hadn’t been in a few years. Man, this place has gone seriously downhill to the point where it’s not really somewhere to stay even with zero expectations. Broken lampshades with what looks like dried blood stains, light switches that don’t work, sheet with a slash tear in it, more cigarette burns in the bedding than I can count, an absolutely revolting hand towel with an entire face worth of concealer and mascara stained into it, sticky floor, broken bathroom sink faucet shoots water in every direction all over the countertop. There’s a night in a cheap, tacky motel and then there’s this. I’m the cheapest person I know and even I felt disgusting and ashamed laying my head down to sleep.
- Faricita (2/5): - This property is inexpensive & for a reason. I get we all look for an inexpensive rest stop if someone is in town for a day or an event & wishes to stay over but this Village Inn in Colts Neck next to the Colts Neck Pub is disgusting I’m sorry to say. I’m not the one to leave reviews like this but I have. No choice here. The room was outdated, had a stench to it, there was no running water in the sink & the shower smelled like sewerage. One key card was given for the room, the pictures for Village Inn is falsely advertised
- William (2/5): - We asked for a refund after seeing the room and the pest control car parked in the parking lot. The room smelled and we couldn't stay there. We went to a car and brought our bags in and looked around and didn't feel safe with fixtures in the bathroom not complete with a hole where the light fixture resided. Sorry we should not have booked this room. You get what you pay for and at $103 I thought was a deal but was a nightmare. The guy at the desk also scanned my drivers license.
- Amanda (4/5): - The room was severly outdated, giant cracked mirror, tons of holes and screws in the wall by the bed, stains on every single surface, sheets had a big tear in them, shower was very finicky and drain clogged quickly causing water to be all over the floor, no one came by to swap out towels, tv colors were weird and couldnt reset, old toothbrush under the sink, jet tub was dirty
- Abbigale (10/5): - I saw a lot of negative reviews, but we had a good experience at this hotel this weekend. The staff was nice and the hotel was cleaned before we got there.
- Natalia (2/5): - We expected 3-star accommodations. Everything is old. The windows did not lock. The manager was good but his situation is impossible. Not even a 1-star for the motel.
- Jeremy (4/5): No Frills! Less than that - Unfortunately, the outside entrance of the hotel is deceiving and especially the photos on the site. The only redeeming aspect of this hotel is the Colts Neck Pub within walking distance and Delicious Orchards, slightly further. Not sure where to start! Bathroom: No hot water from the sink. When the shower was a broken jacuzzi and the hot water smelled like sulfur. The room: a lamp without the shade and another dangling on the lamp. The smoke alarm was completely broken, which I'm sure the fire marshal wouldn't be happy about! The pool, don't expect to use that during the summer as that was in awful condition. Cats were wondering the property with food cans around the property. I understand this is a no frills hotel, but this is a neglected hotel and a shame as the area is a wealthy part of NJ and the structure is a nice looking hotel. I wouldn't recommend this. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to book as a last minute and would have lost my money, I never would have stayed, There are better hotels for slightly more
- Sandra (2/5): - Words cannot express the pure disappointment I had experienced with this Hotel it should noy listed with any site its needs to be Come dam we had no running hot water. Large amount of dust balls and cobwebs sheeting look like they used to cheapest detergent. Just terrible I have pictures. It was horrible after going back-and-forth with management. He did give me a refund. I would never recommend this place especially in Colts Neck that shouldn't be allowed. And let.me not forget to mention that the landscaping was beyond grass was about 3 in high no Exaggeration untrim box plants
- Jacque (4/5): - The outside was completely unkept , the grass was so hi it looked like a derelict vacant property.
We didn’t stay at the property, we checked in saw the room and promptly booked at Holiday inn.
The rooms are very old, run down and sad.
- elisabeth (4/5): - Rooms dirty , smell bad.Doors need repair, bugs , no service rooms like didn’t offer any shampoo, soap or changes tower . Smoke detector wires hanging from ceiling. No more no more !! Unfriendly staff…
- Jeffrey (2/5): - Horrible staff, shower in bathroom didnt work, the floor in the room was cracked and coming apart.
Never stay here again.
- DIANA (10/5): - I stayed there a few years ago and it was nice. There have been some upgrades since then but, it was a no-brainer to come back. Very quiet. The staff were very helpful and polite.
- Aleshia (2/5): - Very dirty it was cold in there and no lights or doors are working
