Guest Reviews
- jmadeira90 (8/5): Great boutique hotel - This hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Ao nang beach. this is great for me and people who like to try and get 5 to 10k steps in per day even on a getaway or holiday. Staff are friendly, beds comfortable and good value for money. I paid a great rate for my 3 night stay from last day of July into August. Only negative is the walls are very thin and nit sound proof at all. I can hear any onz who's even a little bit loud or noisy around my room. The maids/cleaning staff should be more professional, they talk loudly to each other in the hallways and yell at each other while far away. Even if its not early morning they should be quiet and not disturbing peace when working. They woke me up everyday. That's why ill give 4 stars instead of 5. Everything else was on point.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Why not provide for toothbrush and toothpaste? It's will be very good if you have it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): God renlighed, god service - Fantastik betjening i receptionen og generelt af alt personale. Virkelig omhyggelige, og de er gode til at hjælpe hvis man skal have booket noget.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean light room with very comfortable bed
Great location in between the two beaches
Helpful staff
Fint hotell. Veldig lite bassengområde og få solstoler. Ca 10 minutter å gå til stranden.
Sentralt, men likevel i et stille område.
Frokosten var helt grei. Rent og pent.
Veldige snille og hjelpsomme personale.
Anbefales!
- Simon (4/5): do not recommend - reception said you could check in early, but got a room at clock, really poor service
- StephW38 (6/5): Convenience of the night market but way too loud - The check in process was easy. The room was very stuffy when we arrived and sucked since we couldn't leave the air on without a second key card. In order to get an additional card key, it cost a 200 baht deposit so we decided not to. Good shower water temperature and pressure. Two free water bottles. No blackout curtains. Decent wifi. Not very many channels in English. Our room was literally right next to the night market so the music was very loud until 11:30ish at night (free provided ear plugs by the bed). It was a cool view but we were thankful that we were only spending one night.
We didn't use the pool or opt for their breakfast buffet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel for the price, nite market next door to property was convenient.Swimming pool looked a little cloudy.
- Casey (8/5): - The stay here was fine. Rooms big enough and were clean. Breakfast was good and decent selection. Pool could use an update and more lounge chairs, however. Great location, short walk to the main beach area for restaurants and shops.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was very happy with the service and the room was nice and tidy
- Vincity1 (10/5): Great location and Service - My stay at 8icon was great we had the quadruple room with bunk bed and two twins. We arrived very late after midnight and were worried we would have a room in a location on property that would be least desirable but we ended up with a very convenient room on the first floor.
The room was pretty spacious for me and two other friends nice seating area inside and just outside the room. The housekeepers and staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is fairly new and updated with furniture bathroom and appearance.
Like others mentioned the deposit for another room key was kinda annoying, but that was about the only negative. I would recommend staying at 8icon good location very walkable to the beach with stores, restaurants, shops all near by and a night market next door.
Would come back in the future!
- X7560VMangelas (10/5): Great hotel! - Just returned from our holiday at Icon8 Ao Nang and was surprised to read so many negative comments. The hotel was modern and clean, courteous staff and varied breakfast.
The pool was ideal if you just wanted to relax in the sun. The drinks were reasonably priced but nobody complained if you fetched your own from the supermarket. Due to the lack of sun beds on the beach in Ao nang, it was nice to laze round the pool.
The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed every day. Each room has a lovely sized balcony, not overlooking the beach of course as a walk away from the beach, but well kept entrance with lights, swings and water feature.
We didn’t have any trouble with noise from the market but were situated round the front of the hotel.
Could have done with more storage space for clothes but I would definitely recommend 8Icon and good value for money.
- Shirley (10/5): - Nice hotel .traveling alone and very safe there !
The staff was vety helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
- percy23 (8/5): New modern hotel with excellent staff - Hubby and I really enjoyed our six nights at this hotel. Location was good 10 mins walk to Ao Nang strip. Lots of restaurants and massage places across the road and a 7/11. Big shout out to Kwan on reception who always helped us with dinner reservations and provided great suggestions on food and what to do. Breakfast was buffet and hot food options changed daily. Thanks to all the wonderful staff.
- VanLina (8/5): Decent Hotel - We've booked a triple bedroom for 3 nights stay, the extra bed was bad, not stable and the mattress sink. Room is clean with full amenities. Next to the hotel is a small night market, there's a bigger scale night market but is kind of far. It is very far to the beach as well. The pool is nice, although not too big but we enjoyed our swim there. Breakfast is good. Overall we have a good stay (except the extra bed).
- monietraveller (4/5): Very Disappointing - Our Stay: I think this hotel(which is more like motel) is clean, the bed is satisfactory. The staff is very friendly but hardly speak English.
On the downside they do not offer very many amenities or benefits. You get 1 key for your room and if you lose it you have to pay. (Never heard of that before, it’s a plastic card). If you want an additional key (one each), you have to pay deposit. So you can’t leave your key in the room to keep the power on and charge your phones. They give each person only 1 towel in the room and if you want additional, you have to pay deposit. The towels are not soft, they’re old and hard and there are no other bath towels provided in the bathroom. It’s the same towel you have to use and take to the beach and use during the day and then shower with.
The room I give a 3/10 because it is bland, 3 star quality, definitely NOT 4 star! There are NO luxuries here. No dresser, no USB port or electrical outlets bedside the bed, you have to charge your phone across the room.
Lastly there are a lot of kids, (not the hotels fault), but not a romantic getaway for a couple looking for piece and quiet. There are to many unsupervised kids running around and taking over the pool. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, this is not the place.
- jamessT160DK (2/5): 8icon hotel Krabi avoid this place - This hotel is rated 4 star and in actuality is more like a 2.5 star.
The theme here is to nickle and dime the guests. You are only given one key, you lose that they charge 200 baht. ($8.00). They provide only one bath towel any additional towels are 200 baht. There is a price list in the room for everything including the control for the air conditioner. All the electronics in the room are operated on a master control by the key thereby you come back to a hot room. The front desk staff can not speak English are are not concerned with your issues. They will not allow you to get a refund if you wish to check out. The place is noisy and full of kids. Avoid this place you wont be happy
- dipen (6/5): Grate Location and good value for money - Location is great! You get what you pay for not more not less. No elevator is one of the biggest problem especially, if you are allocated room on the 2nd floor. Very low lighting in the room. Breakfast could have been better.
- Irene (10/5): - The stay was great, staffs was very helpful, location was great, just beside Aonang night market - delicious foods and great performance by local kids.
They even have a tour booth to book tour, transport etc.
Overall, great stay
- jamieb101 (8/5): Modern simple hotel - Stayed here for 9 nights rooms clean well presented but lack storage space.
Staff are so friendly and helpful even when language can be a issue some times.
Pool was well kept and clean.
Drinks prices very competitive to outside.
Breakfast was not what I would expect luke warm but had options to fill you up for the day.
- Nicebuds (6/5): Noisy hotel but new and clean - It's like the walls on this place are made of paper. I can gear everything from upstairs, next door and on the bloody street.
Beds are actually really comfortable and other amenities also new, clean and functional so can't complain in this aspect. Pool is in a weird place. Dunno why they put it where they did. Staff friendly at check in and Some at breakfast. Me, tdoor to small night market but there are a few. Igjt markets in town and they all sell the same things as the shops anyhoo so... meh. Location is handy. In middle of town kinda. Near pier and boat taxis to Railey Beach and 4 island tours etc.
Hmm. What else. Oh Yeh. the ground floor rooms have undercover private courtyard with daybed thing which is handy when family go to sleep and your been told off for watching too many videos on phone hehe.
All in all. Lots of positives but the noise really gave me the irrates and considering hotels are for sleeping and oise is an important factor, I am deducting 2 stars. In fact. I am writing this now when I should be asleep coz of the noise.
- Roz (10/5): - The property is lovely, family room on the ground floor is great, spacious with an outdoor private area as well. Walking distance to main beach etc. restaurants and shops near by. Night markets behind have excellent food. Breakfast was great too
- RamanSidhwani (10/5): Reviewing 8Icon after my family stay - I simply loved this hotel, rooms, staff and the breakfast . Awesome location , just within the market. You can walk to Ao Nang Beach ( although the beach itself is very filthy) . Front desk and overall staff is very very courteous. Nice , clean well illuminated rooms . The most awesome part is their open lawn which has variety of swings. Sit back, relax and Enjoy .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - beautiful hotel, nice staff
- craigmat72016 (10/5): 8 lcon - stayed here for 5 nights we read the reviews before comming and was sceptical,
good points of hotel
new building , very clean with good sized rooms and the staff were very friendly has balcony to sit in if you want to breakfast was good with choice from cereals eggs rice dishes fruits ect ... location was good 10 min walk into the heart of things
on reading reviews lot of complaints about the noise to be honest there is noise we stayed in room 314 which we asked for quieter room there was a bit of noise but did not bother us very low in our side of building and music stops from market about 11:30 pm but overall i would recommend this hotel as a honest critic
- aditi (2/5): - There is always a first time for bad experiences - 8Icon was it! terrible staff, rude and unwilling to listen. for some reason their only focus during our stay with them was on chopsticks and towels. it was outrageous! just not for us.
- moochingaround (10/5): Fabulous hotel - Our family of 4 stayed in this hotel during the month of August for 6 nights. We ha a quadruple room, which was excellent, on the ground floor with an outdoor area. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Pool was very nice. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and by the night market. We were on the opposite side to the night market and it was very quiet. Highly recommend this hotel.
- GEORGIOS (10/5): breakfast best, clean room - please, visit Krabi during a not rainy season
- peagreen2015 (10/5): Comfy and Modern - A bright, clean, comfortable and modern delight. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and bright decor. The reception staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, away from the main street but within easy reach of the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. It was next to a night market but this was quiet.
- Trish1973 (10/5): No mosquitoes!!!! - I booked two rooms at this hotel for 13 nights, we're up to day 9 and I've noted there are no mosquitoes. Unlike part stays in Ao Nang where we've had to use lots of repellent and mosquito coils here we've needed none around the hotel. It's because they get the grounds sprayed.
The hotel is only a short walk to two beaches and there are restaurants nearby as well as a 7-11 and massage parlours. Hotel is off the main street and therefore not much traffic or noise.
The pool is super clean and has a great kids pool. Hotel also has strong WiFi which of course is essential these days. Rooms are cleaned daily and housekeepers do a terrific job.
Breakfast has an egg station (love the omelettes!), fresh fruit, good coffee and a good selection of hot Asian foods. Sadly no bacon but a great selection of bakery items!!!!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful, modern hotel. Staff are friendly and always willing to help and have excellent English, just remember not to speak at 100 miles an hour! I know we will stay here next time we visit Ao Nang.
- Inspector9999 (6/5): Was good but won’t go back there - I went there with my family. Nice clean room. Good location. Kids love the swimming pool. Good food but service was little poorly. Staff could smile? Look grumpy all the time!
Housekeeping is the best staff . She was polite and smiling.
- 704tanyak (8/5): Great Stay - Great hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. No lift at the hotel so stairs with suitcases was a bit of a mission though the staff were helpful. The hotel is centrally located and next to a small night market. The pool was lovely and a nice temperature. We had a very pleasant stay at 8icon Ao Nang Krabi and would be happy to stay there again.
- Aank-anhbayar (10/5): Stay here at least 3 days - When you come here, warm and friendly environment will welcome you. Breakfast, swimming pool and other things are always good enough for us. Comfortable to stay and 3 days are almost not enough to see all of those beautiful places. Thanks to 8icon for providing satisfaction for travelers
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I Requested for a late checkout til 2pm my flight being at 420pm. I was just given an hour after the usually checkout time of 12noon. This is despite the fact that the staff told me that the hotel was not even 50% full. Im out of the hotel most of the time during day time and I even checked in very late during my first day of stay in the hotel.
- Ladies (8/5): - No room service available after breakfast
- PURUSHOTOHAMAN (4/5): EARLY CHECK OUT - THE WAY THEY RESPOND TO THEIR GUESTS IS NOT GOOD, they told us to checkout earlier than their normal timing. its not totally acceptable at all , they said they cleaned the room so they didn't allow us again to the room.
- fionlalala (10/5): Happy Journey in Krabi - We stayed in 8icon for friend beat trip. All staff are friendly and very helpful when we got problem on balcony door lock. They were follow up quickly and get it fixed. English level is good to communicate and suggested places for us to go and restaurant reservations. We all have a very pleasant journey to stay here and like to recommend all friends to stay here if they have plan to visit Krabi.
PS. There are lot of cheap and clean massage places close by and convenient stores with just 1 min walk from the hotel. This is more than perfect for kind of night owls we are.
- Lim (10/5): Great hotel - New hotel with great ammenities.. only problem is without lift..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice & clean
- Alvin (8/5): - No wake up call required in the morning as there're door slamming competition every morning. The management should look into this issue seriously. Apart from this , we have a pleasant stay.
- Alexandra (10/5): - I had a great stay here. Room and amenities are clean, friendly staff and comfortable beds. Located next to a night market. Although it is a bit noisy at night, I could find good food in the market which is a convenience. Massage and tour agencies are also nearby.
- Patrick (10/5): - The best thing about this great hotel was the staff. Everyone from the reception staff to the cleaners were extremely friendly and eager to help. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Super modern and clean hotel. Loved the night markets next door.
- NoraYap (8/5): - Pro: The rooms size/bedding and promptness of the staff are good. Breakfast decent.
Cons: Need improvements with water filtration (bathroom water very salty). Aircon in the room not cold even though it’s still new.
- Jaden (10/5): My stay - The room was large with a big bathroom and front patio in a private area. We checked in at night and was greeted with refreshing drinks just what I needed. The hotel was at the right spot and next to a small night market. The beach was in walking distance and the strips. Definitely coming back here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): You decide - The room was good, location excellent, breakfast was okay, however what sucked. The day we were leaving my tour bus is waiting, check out line is long, then before they let you go they check your room for missing items. More wait. The lady asked me about a missing hair dryer BAG. I i’m telling her I have no idea what she’s talking about and she keeps pointing out a price list that I have to pay. I was already keeping the bus of people waiting I didn’t have time to fight it. I paid the 150 bat and ran to the bus. What a ridiculous accusation first and even more ridiculous thing to charge some for.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing we loved our stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel! Walking distance to the beach. Staff was nice and breakfast was good. Would stay here again
- Richard (10/5): Worth a visit - Enjoyed our stay here. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Paid more than we normally do for accommodation for 3 nights but it was definitely worth every penny!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff at the night shift are very nice and sincerely helpful! Though staff in the morning/afternoon shift not so :/
The hotel is very new, and the rooms are nice and spacious! Not located in the center of town, but accessible and walkable to the main commercial area. Good location indeed, for its quietness.
Some of the hotel room face the not so busy night market, but the staff were helpful to change our room the second day once a quieter room is available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the better breakfasts we've had in Thailand. The pool was nice, and we really liked the decorating in the room.
- A (10/5): - Nice little spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. A short walk to the beach. Staff helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place, staff and location. - The hotel was very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the amenities - the pool was great and breakfast was tasty. The staff organized our airport transportation for us, which worked out great. And the location was more than we had hoped for. Walking distance to the beach, tons of shops and restaurants. And there’s a night market just behind be hotel. We really enjoyed our stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - staff is helpful & recommends package based on needs. hotel is further in amongst other hotels & facilities..... far from beach, safe to stay in case of tsunami..
- Aparna (10/5): - Nice budget hotel. Worth the money you pay. Ao nang beach is a little far yet walkable. The location is good with night market and many eateries close by.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel surrounded with Halal foods and convenient stores. The location very peaceful.
- Karen (8/5): Pleasant stay - Nice clean hotel with nice size double room. An extra bed fitted well for our teenage daughter. No lift. The hotel was quite bland with no real atmosphere but staff friendly and helpful.
- Caroline (8/5): Comfortable and clean with a couple of drawbacks - Comfortable bed, clean rooms, sheets changed every day which was good in the heat and humidity. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast made to order, not bad but nothing special.
Plenty of power sockets but not in the best locations and the plugholes were a little large for standard European 2 pin plugs meaning it was a balancing act to get some to stay in.
Toiletries provided, shower gel, shampoo and separate conditioner; replenished if any were being used. Kettle with sugar, coffee and tea, also replenished each day. although only two sachets of each were provided.
One major drawback was the lack of lift in block B, two young guys struggled up to the second floor with our cases. I carried them down when we left though I could probably have got the staff to do it.
Location was just a little off the main AoNang beach area but walkable or just 100 baht in a sidecar style tuktuk. Plenty of options in a short walking distance though.
- Bogdan (8/5): we recommend it. - Great hotel with good location and ceru good prices.
- Fleur (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Walking distance to shops, restaurants, beach. New hotel, very spacious clean room with small balcony. Quite quirky hotel. Helpful reception staff. Room cleaned daily. Lovely shower.
- Peter (10/5): - Very pleased with our stay. Large and clean room comfortable bed and quiet area.
Close enough to walk to Ao Nang beach. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Would definitely book again next time.
- Michelle (8/5): Comfortable Stay - This was a lovely new hotel in Ao Nang, close proximity to local amenities, including the beach. Staff were very polite and professional. Hotel was very clean and well maintained as well. Ate at the hotel a few times and was very good and reasonable. The pool was a nice addition as well and used this facility quite a lot.
Only negative element would say would be that our air conditioning unit in our room as not fully functional and would be warm but tolerable.
- kate (10/5): - brilliant hotel
- Alex (8/5): My time at 8icon - Nicely located hotel which is in a great location for exploring the area, the hotel staff were very kind and friendly and quick to help with all your needs.
The rooms were modern and clean as shown in pictures and was very pleasant.
There were a couple of minor problems which might be due to maintenance work which is currently ongoing at the hotel. First of all 2 of the days the showers were not working. No water. And another the wifi stopped working which was abit of a pain.
The outside of the hotel has a swing, a hammock and a little fairy lit seating area, which is lovely and all. Exspect it's basically in a car park with a road next to it so, couldn't really work out what style they are going for.
- Emma (6/5): Convenient and clean hotel - Stay was nice, room was clean.
- Camila Yeow (8/5): The hotel is near to beach only 10 mins walk. - Love the helpful staff. The hotel is very new and cozy. Good location not as far as we seen on google map. There are a few cheap and nice night food stall in-front the hotel and 7-11 or family mart just 3 mins walk.
They didn't provide toothbrushes and toothpaste so do remember to bring your own. One of the block do not have lift but the staff are very kind to help you carry the luggage.
Overall it was a good stay experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Easily access with food and massage within walking distance. Hotel staffs very helpful.
- Carolyn (8/5): Convenient and clean hotel. - A brand new hotel with everything in new and spotless condition. Quiet area within walking distance of lots of restaurants, shops, massage and the beach. A small but pleasant pool, good TV and wifi. Exceptional staff performance and friendliness.
- ADRIAN (8/5): Nice hotel in quiet area - This is a new hotel, just about 300 m from the beach in a quiet area. The hotel and rooms are very nice, you have in your room some beach accesories ( beach towel, slippers, bag ) tea and coffee, free water. We had a nice surprize from the management because it was a special event ( thank you ).
Good breakfast, nice lobby ... We recommend this hotel for your trip in Krabi :)
A minus is that they don't have an iron for hotel guests ( yet ) and we needed after a long way to Krabi.
- Ella (10/5): - The assist of service is the best part in this hotel, they can arrage everything what we want; and the room is prefect, bcoz im the person who very afraid those dirty, but the bed, washroom and everything is clean. The location also is good, have 7-11, have foods. keep it up the good job, we will come back next time. :D
