- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was dried urine on the toilet no extra toilet paper no napkins no cups no Kleenex no paper towels no clock other guests were rowdy and partying and loud and Obnoxious the police came my first night. Door could not open all the way it got stuck in the floor. Floor of the bathtub was very slimy. There was a huge gap around the whole front door anybody talking outside sounded like they were in the room. The lamp between the beds which was my only lamp did not work I checked to see it was plugged in and it was not and there wasn’t even an outlet between the bed to even plug it in it was just there for show.
- gipsygman (4/5): DIRTY - They seem to survive on Sec 8, long term housing. Glad my van was intact in the morning. I got a last minute deal, but the suggested list price would have been ridiculous. I had stayed the night before in Memphis at the Crown Plaza for $5 less. DIRTY!

- Paul (4/5): Family Visit to Temple 02/16/2020 - This stay was unlike our other ones which were good. I needed to work from the hotel room. The wireless was awful and I had to use my phone, the office chair was broken and I asked for new one. Was told it would be done twice. I had to go to goodwill and buy one. The towel rack was not mounted and came down and their was no maid service on this stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): FILTHY & NOT.at.all an old hotel w/rustic charm... - Older place w/much potential to be a rustic charm, BUT, room FILTHY @ check in. Dried urine & pubic hair on toilet, no TP & trash from previous guest still in trash cans. No towels/toiletries. Had to call for towels & TP, wife had packed toiletries so that didn’t matter so much. Towels never arrived, had to go to the office to get them. Not one utensil/pot/pan for stove, which still had old food crusted to it. Room NOT cleaned each day. After returning from work, our prior night’s dinner trash was still in the trash as well as the previous guest’s trash. Beds were unmade & towels still on the bathroom floor. Originally booked 5 nights, however after wife tried to {initially politely} call the 3’rd night & discuss w management the condition of the room & quality of the stay, as she was the one who booked it, we decided it best to end our stay early and go elsewhere. Manager was BY FAR the rudest person her or I have ever spoken w. Completely & unnecessarily hostile & defensive & on several instances actually implied my wife & I were being untruthful about not only a booking misunderstanding, {accidentally reserved the room for 2 adults instead of 3 on the app, completely & admittedly OUR mistake} but also the unfortunate condition of the room & hospitality experience. Unwilling to attempt to make it right for the remaining duration of the stay, even after Hotels.com reached out, resulting in a reluctant refund of 1 night, better than nothing & still worth an early check out.
- annaE7084BX (2/5): SLUMLORDS' 'R' US - bedbugs', rats', and roaches' 'plus' fire-hazard stoves', i, love visiting my friends' and they 'do not' deserve to live in such filth. how can 'slumlords' get away with this? the owners' (slumlords') have warped floors' that could fall through, if, stood and walked on!!!!!

- Nick (2/5): - Many issues unfortunately. To begin rooms are extremely old and rundown. Walls and paper thin. Windows are thin and cracked. Found roaches in my room shortly after check-in. Other guests were outside on the stairs grilling on a personal charcoal grill and fighting with each other. Stains all over walls and ceilings. Sheets were stained. Black specs of mold or something on the pillow cases. Due to the numerous issues attempted to get even a partial refund but was denied. Ended up letting them keep the money and staying elsewhere to save myself the filth and anxiety of a sleepless night.

Received non smoking, but it reeked of a smoking room! Rooms all around were smoking so it was the stench of smoking was coming through bad!!! Woke up sick, couldn’t breathe, puffy eyes and face, due to sleeping in the room! That reeked of smoking Staff would not bother to refund me or anything to to to make up for it! Won’t be back!!!!

- billrA2105SG (2/5): See the room first. - Went to rent a suite for a month, wanted to look at the room first this huge Black female rolled her eyes and said really, I said I either look at the room or I bounce, she had attitude she said I will show you if that is what you want. She walked really slow to this room was joking what looked like gang members finally opened the door the room was really hot, reason the air conditioner didn`t work that is why she didn`t want to show the room. That is being a thief, I wouldn`t stay unless you are armed.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid this place - First of all I came in late and had to speak through a tiny bullet proof glass. When we get into the room it’s filthy. Dead bugs all over. The stove was dirty and stained. The bathroom walls were sticky. All of the mattresses had stains on them and the boxsprings all looks gross. We booked for three nights and upon seeing the room asked to leave immediately. The person up front said I already paid and couldn’t get my money back. Called Hotels.com and they helped me get my money back and leave in the morning. If you aren’t strapped for cash or down on your luck avoid this place. Everyone that I saw there did not look like the best people and I thought my car was going to get broken into the entire time there.

I walked to the front office and an and tried to report the problem but no one was there. Nor did anyone come after I stood there about 15 min. The second night we switched to a smoking room. It was dirty and everything in the room was older. Soon after we moved to the smnoking room, we discovered that the air conditioning wasn't working. It was hot and humid and very uncomfortable trying to sleep under those conditions.

I would not walk on the floors without shoes on and I had to dry off with a hand towel because my towels were both covered with something black. The area was unsafe and some of the tenants of the hotel made it uncomfortable and a concern for safety.

- ABear (8/5): - The hotel was convenient to Baylor Scott and White. The price was 1/2 that of the bigger chains so for an extended stay this place was well worth the $. The rooms are basically efficiency apartments that were clean and have full kitchens large closets and comfortable beds.

- SRVfamily (2/5): Nasty Nightmare - Me and my family were planning on staying for about a month or two. First of all, the pictures of the rooms on here currently are NOTHING compared to how it actually looks in real life, dust EVERYWHERE, which i had to vacuum, the fan in our room was hanging off the ceiling which I had to repair myself, our bed was disgusting (it didn't even have a sheet on it just a top sheet) mattress is nasty. Our family cant all leave at the same time because the lock on the door never works. Have to get the office to let us back in. Roaches everywhere...had to buy roach baits. Windows are from the 60's or 70's have mold along the windowsills. Floor is asbestos tiles from God only knows when. Bathtub leaks water everywhere. Internet is terrible...and to top it off they charge us more than other residents. One week its 335 next week 355 one week we even paid 360. The place is a health hazard. Staff, very unprofessional and rude. Our room is now cleaner compared to what it was before because WE cleaned it. I do NOT recommend this place!!
- P2631BNsandrao (2/5): Kicked Off Property - Stayed at the Ranch House while veteran husband had surgery at the VA. Five year old daughter wet bed and we were kicked out of the room/property. The manager stated "we don't do bodily fluid". It was an accident. What about blood, sweat, drunk adult urine? I know this is not the first or last time a child will accidentally wet the bed. The manager had rekeyed the room and informed cleaning crew to let us get our belongings. They allow dogs, dah, but kicked a mother and child out. Very disappointed and will not recommend this location.

You will need to bring kitchen supplies (nothing provided) and limited hotel related items. Excellent free Wifi (Spectrum), Cable TV and Electronic Card Key Locks. Staff is friendly and responsive, and rooms were clean. Restaurant and full laundry near the entrance.

Only downside is at night it’s not the “classiest”. My girlfriend and I saw 3 different ladies walking around offer services that are not legal. But other than that nice place to stay.

Immediately on entering the room at check in, we killed a roach. There is no ice machine, and no ice trays in the fridge. The desk clerk brought us one filled tray and one empty one. The wifi never worked, and on the second morning, the water went out. To her credit, the manager refunded our two unused nights.

- jen (10/5): Sad that city of temple is ruining the streets - Booked this hotel we did get there super late and woke up the attendant. Temple is tearing up the roads so it is extremely hard to get to the hotel. They have turned it looks like an apartment complex into a hotel/apartments. The rooms were nice had a kitchen which are awesome. Big flat screen tv, and even a table to sit at. Best part ever most of the residents are vets including the owner, so I was proud to stay there... it's not a grade a hotel but that is what made it better it was quaint and relaxing and I slept great!

Repairs oozed glue or bug "goo". TV remote didn't work. We didn't bother to ask for fixes. Just lived with it.

We live 100 miles from Temple, so decided to stay in Temple the night before. This motel is directly across the road from the VA Hospital entrance. It's not fancy, but is clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the rate is reasonable.

I am a business man and i'll have to say i've never been to a hotel worse than the ranch house inn. first off my room was just disgusting the bed was not even made. my room did not even have hot water. also the staff were completely rude to me about the whole situation and i had to wait for ever. I feel sorry for anyone who has had to stay here.
- Traveler (6/5): So, so, hotel. - The room needs a total makeover, outdated appliances, cabinets, bath tub (heavily stained, etc). Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I recommend the hotel if nothing else available. Great location near VA Hospital.
- Kenneth (10/5): We will be back! - Great place! The appliances are a little outdated but the rooms are very clean and they have a wonderful staff that was very helpful! Great little diner next door that is open 24 hours
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not Great, Not Terrible - Room was less than $50, so did not expect much. Cheaper rooms are second floor, had to drag my bags & equipment up & down stairs. Bed was OK, no bugs visible in room. Kitchenette looked mid-80s, except for Walmart microwave. Musty smell from carpet, no hair dryer in room. Decent TV with 20 or so channels. Tried to use my tablet to listen to music, WIFI had strong signal, but kept dropping connection. Not reliable. Fairly quiet, no noises to speak of. Given the proximity to the VA hospital, most people I saw outside were older men and a few older women. If I had been traveling with my wife, we would have stayed somewhere better. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

- strobeone (8/5): Pleasant Surprise!! - Sweet deal for sure. Price was super!! Kitchen was clean and had refrigerator and microwave, however, bring your own dishes, etc cause they have no utensils, pans or paper products. Bed was comfy, good TV and internet. I needed a place to stay and they gave me a little apartment. If you think you can beat the price and these accomodations, you are sadly mistaken. I'm using this place every time I go to Temple from now on. Staff was attentive and made an effort to insure I had everything I needed. Overall, this place offers all one needs for an inexpensive overnight. Definitely a pleasant surprise.
- 5t4rf0xx (10/5): PCS lifesaver - It's like a little apartment in there, stove and everything to help make house hunting as good of an experience that it can be in this area. With everything going wrong as it typically does with the army, this place went right... Don't expect the Ritz when you're paying 50 bucks a night people. It's common sense. This place was well worth it to us, and the people were lovely.
- 545connieg (8/5): Lots of hospitality! - This isn't a 5 star resort, but it's clean, comfortable, and quiet! Manager Gina and her husband are very nice and will bend over backwards to sure their guests are comfortable. The room I was in did need some updating, but everything was in working order and there was plenty of space.
- L2158WVdonaldb (10/5): So very thankful! - My son recently left military life and had decided to come home to attend college. He's been through a couple of rough years and little to no money in his pocket. He managed to get to Temple, Texas for a very long bus ride to Amarillo and was told there was no seats remaining on the bus. Sad commentary for a veteran. He had zero dollars in his pocket and no where to stay, until I called Ranch House Inn & Suites. Kari and the manager were so accommodating. I was able to scan my credit card and ID to them to facilitate the purchase and also asked them if there were any way they could get him some food and add it to the charge. They processed the card and sent me a receipt - first let me say thank you that they honored him with a king sized bed, secondly they gave him the veteran rate and lastly a kind statement saying we didn't add charges to feed him we'll take care of him. Wow! I have stayed in Omni, Hilton & Marriott properties that never did that for me. I am so thankful for their kindness and generosity!!!
- waheedahw (10/5): Big surprise - I and my husband needed a clean comfortable place to stay till we found an apt and we was surprise to find such a clean place. The stuff is nice the rooms are clean and it is so quiet here.this is a great place to stay. I even had my sister to come stay for a little while she loved her room and the stuff. I have stayed in many hotel and motel and this is the first time I have felt completely comfortable as well as my husband and the manger she make sure that u everything is running well and she is so nice and where we had to stay for months it was nice to have a full kitchen I love to be able to cook my husband a full meal after work . This is definitely a great place to stay and I would come back again
- abshiret00 (8/5): Nice Surprise - I needed an affordable place to stay while visiting family in the hospital. This hotel is right across the street so I stopped in and was surprised to find how nice their rooms are. Bright and clean rooms and linen. The bed was very comfortable too!
- Kayleigh_Sara (10/5): Great Hotel - The front desk clerk was extremely nice & went out of her way to make sure that we had a pleasant experience . Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette in the room was very nice to have during our extended stay, as well as the guest laundry area. We will be definitely be back the next time we travel to Temple, TX.
- cslocum979 (10/5): Good Value - Front Desk was very nice. The room was spacious. Very clean and the price was reasonable. The room had a lot of storage for my clothes. The rooms are great for extended stays. I was surprised by the full size fridge and kitchen. Nice new Flats screens. I will be back the next time I am in Temple
- rodgerb436 (2/5): Filth - I am a 66 year old veteran.Last night before I had surgery this morning,my wife and I stayed in this trashed out old hotel.The V.A. gave us a voucher to stay here.I'm sure they don't know how dirty this place is are they wouldn't be wasting our money on it.I would really like to know whom gave them the rating they advertise.It should be no more than a half star.The place looks quaint on the outside but on entering you get hit by the stink of the old carpet.The bath was un-kept and the kitchenettes had a dead roach on the counter.
- chapinshaun (8/5): I was pleasantly surprised! - My company had booked a room at another hotel in town. I went to evaluate the room and was disappointed, so I checked a few others out myself and found The Ranch House. After seeing the room I was on the phone with my company! Besides having the accommodations I required for an extended stay. My company saved about 50%. I should get a bonus:) It's not new like some others, but it's clean. No bugs and the management is real friendly! I felt secure knowing the entire property is under video surveillance. I've seen some rift raft come through only to see them being removed off the property.They are always asking if I need anything etc. Over all just a good ole place lots of veterans stay here due to being across the street from veterans affairs! Oh and a 24hr restaurant on the property with again surprisingly good food! I will stay here again in December when I have to return for business!
