The breakfast was subpar for Hampton. Scrambled eggs were watery. I don’t eat sausage or biscuits and gravy. I fixed a waffle & it was crunchy overcooked for 180 seconds. I settled for a miniature blueberry muffin!

- jeans23 (6/5): Good and bad stay! - Clean lobby with pot of chicken noodle soup. Room carpet was filthy! I Could never get warm water for a decent shower then the handle broke off completely! I called the front desk and they offered to move us but it was 9:40 and we were unpacked, settled and our pup was sleeping. Then we tried to turn on the heat. What a hassle! (No instructions). I requested close access to a grassy area due to our pup but this hotel had concrete and gravel. I was happy the neighboring hotel had grass. My thinking is if you charge for pets, have your own grassy area out back. Breakfast was good for my husband but awful for my required diet of no dairy or gluten. Would we stay there again? Prone it not.

Breakfast was by far the worst. Stale pastries, very limited choices. Standard Hilton fare eggs looked burned. No yogurt. Few bagels.

- E9902LHjosephh (10/5): Great stay - no issues - The Hampton Inn & Suites St Louis/Alton is well-located, with numerous shopping and food options nearby. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and it came equipped with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The property overall seemed fairly new, well maintained, and felt totally safe. The fitness room was surprisingly well-equipped for a hotel in its class, with the latest in cardio and weight equipment. All in all, this is one of the best Hampton Inns I have stayed at and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

- Brandon (6/5): Barking dog in our assigned room. - We wanted to take a family trip to St. Louis. I spent hours reviewing hotels on hotels.com and this hotel came back with the best reviews and close to St. Louis without being in the city. After a long day of traveling we checked in at the front desk and we were informed the hotel required a 75.00 accidental fee that gets reimbursed after our stay. I get having a card on file for damages but never heard of being charged a fee that gets returned after your stay. Hotel was paid through hotels.com app. Anyway got our keys to the room, unloaded our family of 5 and proceeded to the room. As we got off the elevator a barking dog could be heard from a room down the hallway. OK cool they allow pets. As we got closer to our room we realised the barking was coming from the room we were given and there was a do not disturb sign on the door. Back down to the front desk we went. They changed us to a different room with little to no explaination of why the room was already filled. When we got to the new room it had a smell in it like someone had vaped in it. We were to tired to go back to the lobby and complain so we settled in. After settling in the toilet plugged up after being used forbthe first time, so back down to the front desk anyway where they had to call the manager to find a plunger and we had to take care of it ourselves. Our first night was frustrating.

We attempted to eat breakfast at 8am and there was half an egg, cold yellow sausage, and no other hot foods. The non hot foods were few and far between. Whenever we saw staff they were gathered around the front desk, clearly not working. We normally enjoy Hamptons but I'd definitely skip this one.

- Mary (10/5): The pool - We wish the pool was warmer !!!! The last 2 steps leading into the pool are STEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was very clean and there were towels waiting on the backs of the chairs which was VERY convenient !!!

- Laura (10/5): - This is anice hotel. I have stayed here before. This the first time I was bothered by noise from a family and realized the sound insulation wasn't the best. The breakfast lady is n8ce.
- Steven (8/5): - Loved the Hotel, iron must have been dropped in the past, point was broken and tore my shirt as i was ironing. Also we have a dually chevy 3500, was very hard to find anplace to park
- Sheila (8/5): - All around, it was good. What I didn't appreciate was not being able to sleep in a dark room. Not only were only sheer curtains available to cover the window, but a two story parking light was outside & directly visible from the bed.
- Jerry (8/5): - The room was spacious and quiet. The room seemed clean until I noticed my feet. The floors were filthy. A good carpet cleaning would help. The staff was great except for the Thursday morning breakfast staffer. We showed up one hour into breakfast time and there was no eggs ready, hard or scrambled/omelette. Coffee was lacking. I really love this hotel and we use it at least 2 times a year locally. I do hope a few things can change to bring them back to excellent service.

- Brenda (10/5): - Nice, comfortable, clean room. Nice hotel staff. Only thing was the breakfast. Hot food, like eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, biscuits n gravy ran out and took 15 minutes to refill. Lots of people waiting...I stayed 2 nites and it happened both mornings...was yummy though. Will stay again!

- Joseph (2/5): - The Staff were nice at check in and polite. The problem was that I booked 2 rooms 1 king and 1 with 2 queens. The rooms were confirmed with Expedia but we got 2 kings. Confronted the staff and was told that Expedia made a mistake on the rooms and asked me if we had a pull out bed. The room did have a pull out the was super uncomfortable. The staff advised me that the hotel was full up and could not replace the room so we were stuck. Not only was I lied to by staff about Expedia, but then when we got into the room, the couch looked like WWE Super Slam had just happened and found an empty rum bottle in what I think they were calling the wet bar. The room smelled musty and it was hot when we walked in. I have pictures of the bottle and the confirmation if you would like to see them. The elevators shook when moving but the breakfast was good if you like powdered eggs. I would go with the raisin bran! The hotel is located next to a busy intersection where you can hear bikes and loud exhaust vehicles take off from the light late night racing up and down the street. So not only did I not sleep much for 2 nights, my back hurts from the cross bass on the fold out bed. The price that I paid for these rooms I expected better and do not plan to stay at another Hampton Inn.
