Als jemand, der zuvor noch nie eine Kreuzfahrt gemacht hat und etwas skeptisch war, kann ich auch sagen dass es sich sehr sicher angefühlt hat und das Schiff eine angenehme Größe hatte. Nur, dass die Getränke im Preis nicht inbegriffen und für vietnamesische Verhältnisse recht teuer waren.

Finalement le bateau haut de gamme navique peu. Les excursions sont très mal organisées. Par exemple jour 2: 2h30 se navigation pour passer royalement une demi heure dans un village et sans temps libre ou shopping. Et ne pensez pas que vous y allez avec le bateau haut de gamme, non vous êtes transféré de speed boat, en bateau plus petits...au total 4 changements

Aber die Kreuzfahrten sind sehr touristisch und man teilt sich die Natur mit extrem vielen anderen Kreuzfahrtschiffen. Die Programme der Schiffe sind aber wohl alle gleich. Zu kurze Fahrtzeit des Hauptschiffes. Es liegt sehr viel vor Anker. Aber das Schiff selbst ist sehr schön und die Crew sehr nett.

- sharon (10/5): A really special experience in Halong bay - go Orchid cruises ! - The boat was SO gorgeous . Lots of traditional wood teamed with very modern clean bathrooms and crisp linens . The staff left us speechless , so warm and welcoming , they treat everyone like royalty , you leave feeling so spoilt . The food was the best we had in Vietnam and that is saying something ! Obviously the bay and scenery is divine , and the activities like Cat Ba island , swimming , kayaking , cookery class and Tai Chi just made it feel even better . Tien who looks after everyone is just so funny and helpful. Also , cocktail happy hour went down well with all , really expertly mixed too - no syrups here . I am so glad we chose Orchid classic as some of the other boats in the bay were either looking quite tired or mega bling and modern so lost that traditional Vietnamese touch . Nothing . It was just great

- Deborah (10/5): Just go on a Classic Premium Orchid Cruise- it is spectacular! - The boat was beautifully designed in the classic IndoChina design but what shone out above everything was the exceptional service of Manager Mr Mel, Jack our waiter and all the staff who did their utmost, and succeeded, in ensuring we had the best possible experience ever! I don’t have enough words to praise or thank them. I would also like to point out that they catered very adequately to our vegan and vegetarian dietary restrictions and all the food was in abundance and beautifully presented! I also loved the activities of sunrise Thai chi on the top deck with wonderful Mr Mel, the cycling and fish massage on Cat Bha island, and the kayaking to the beautiful beaches for a swim, as well as the cooking demo and Happy Hour

This is a very crowded market so making the correct choice can be a challenge but from the hotel pickup through to disembarkation the quality of service and attention to detail couldn’t be faulted The size of each boat is a real benefit, with only 14 cabins we never felt like like we were just a number, there is plenty of space for everyone, even when you want some peace and quiet The food was excellent and whilst the price of drinks is definitely high by local standards when you compare to prices at home it’s still a great deal We’d highly recommend Orchid Cruises, you won’t be disappointed Special thanks to Lee and her team, especially Colada who looked after us well Nothing

- Can (3/5): - Mr. Bang and team are great people and provide good service. Activities are good and plentiful. We were aboard Orchid Classic 1 at Lan Ha Bay. The area is very beautiful. The team from checkin to checkout very organized. The biggest issue I have are the extras for drinks at the boat. I say drinks because its not just alcohol but also sparkling water and similar drinks that are not included in full board. One might even understand some things are lost in translation however, the prices are so exorbitant that you feel like you’re being swindled. Beers are starting from 70k, Wine by the glass 250k, sparkling water is 145k. I believe the management should include at least one alcoholic drink with each meal based on the prices that we are being charged. Next bad experience we had was the food. They served us New Zealand mussels in one of the courses of our dinner. in one of the courses of our dinner we don’t understand why Besides it not being cooked very well. Besides it not being cooked very well. There are many more examples but I think the summary is it would have been better if we had more of Vietnamese food and simpler food. They had pancake demonstration during the evening which was tastier than all the meals we had on the boat. WIFI is non existent. It simply doesn’t work. If it’s important for you than book a cruise that has working WIFI. Same with TV. It doesn't work.

Die Exclusive Suite lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir waren nicht die Einzigen, die von der ständig lauten Musik im Restaurant während Frühstück, Lunch und Dinner ausgesprochen genervt waren. Der Bitte nach geringerer Lautstärke wurde nicht nachgekommen. Auch die Auswahl der Musik entsprach eher einer westlichen Disco. In dem Preis für die Exclusive Suite sollten Soft Drinks, Kaffee und Tee enthalten sein.

Our ship only had 14 cabins which was lovely and intimate. Fabulous food (and lots of it), and all the excursions were expertly organized. Annoyed at the forced 30 minute stop at a massive pearl shop where you're herded thru like cattle. This was run by Orchid thru their pre arranged transport from Hanoi. Also the beds could have bigger pillows, but that's a minor note.

- Iain (4/5): Very disappointing and stressful - Visiting Ha Long Bay is a must; the scenery is beautiful and unique. However be warned that this is one of the busiest tourist traps I have ever visited! We chose this cruise because it was more exclusive and offered a higher grade of accommodation and less people. The food was excellent and the staff were generally great. The cruise stuck to its very rigorous schedule. The kayaking was great (wish we could have gone again later). There were three things that in effect ruined the cruise for us: 1. at about 4.30pm the water boat appeared and moored for an hour alongside our room when we were enjoying a peaceful bath! One of the selling points of the cruise is the bath overlooking the water with privacy - there was none here! We mentioned this to the cruise management and they said it wouldn't happen again... 2. at 9.30am the cleaning boat appeared alongside our room and about a dozen cleaners started running everywhere outside our room. My wife was in the shower and was fully visible to all. Clearly the assurance from the prior afternoon was not worth anything. We made a complaint to the guide and he said that this is a frequent complaint! 3. the guide was so full on cracking some very bad taste jokes throughout that he ruined the cruise completely by removing any sense of tranquility. He even announced through the in room speakers at full volume when things were happening - even of you had the do not disturb setting on! In short - there are many cruise options available - this is, based on our experience, one to avoid.

- gilles (10/5): Excellente croisière sur un jolie bateau et un personnel formidable - Le bateau a une douzaine de cabine ce qui le rend agréable. 25 passagers max. Beaucoup de boiseries. Décoration raffinée. Personnel accueillant, chaleureux et à l'écoute. Le serveur vérifie avec vous que le menu vous convient et change la composition d'un plat si nécessaire. Excellente nourriture et présentation soignée. Un moment mémorable car le personnel a fêté notre anniversaire de mariage. Très émouvant. Excursions bien organisées. Le manager Monsieur Bang est très attentif et professionnel. Il vérifie aussi au débarquement que tout ce passe bien jusqu'à la prise en charge de votre taxi ou bus. Nous avons aussi aimé les démonstrations de cuisine Vietnamienne. En résumé une excellente croisière de 3 jours et 2 nuits. Tout était parfait ! Continuez ainsi !

Everything was very well organized, from the moment we arrived until the end of the cruise. The cabin was comfortable and clean, the food was really tasty, and the views of Ha Long Bay were absolutely stunning. A big shout-out to our guide Dong - he was amazing! Super friendly, always smiling, joking and really cared about everyone on board. He shared interesting stories, and he made the whole cruise feel relaxed and fun. We truly enjoyed every moment and would definitely recommend Orchid Cruise to anyone visiting Ha Long Bay. Would love to come back one day!

Buffet lunch ran out of food and we were told there was no more food. We had request a snack after dinner for the children we were travelling with. We were told to collect at 9pm. When we went to the restaurant at 9:10pm we were told that the chef was sleeping and there was no food available. These last two points are an issue given that there are no other options for food while on the cruise.

- Thu Hanh (7/5): - We did 2 nights because a lot of reviews said they did one night and wished they did longer. I do think 2 nights was too much; the best excursions were on the 1 night (kayak, swim, squid fishing, caving). The extra day took us on a bike ride in Cat Ba and visiting the local towns which it rained so that may be why it wasn't enjoyable then we went on another kayak beach which was right around the corner from where we've been). Service, food and the room size is great. My massage felt rushed as they book them back to back but my husband enjoyed his so maybe just preference. Having to pay for extras, especially for the price you pay and given it's in Vietnam. $40USD for transport per person and cocktails are not included.
- Estefania (5/5): Not worth the value. - The staff was amazing, the room was big and comfortable, and the boat was beautiful. The prices for drinks on the boat are outrageous, a pina colada was $20 USD, a mango smoothie $20.00 and sparkling water $7.00. The price for two people for the cruise was $1,200 for two nights and it did not include drinks such as sparkling water, cappuccino or even a beer. The activities were underwhelming, we went to an island 1.5h each way from the boat and we made two stops at the village for us to buy things. I would not return. You would think that if you pay $1,200.00 for two for two nights, if it not include drinks, at least would be more affordable.

- Tor (6/5): Annoying transfer from Hanoi-Halong Bay knocking down overall experience - Please note that Orchid has three types of cruises; Classic, Trendy and Premium. This is a review for the Classic cruise only. Overall we enjoyed our 2 day 1 night cruise with Orchid. Beautiful room with amazing views and great drinks at the bar. There were however some unfortunate details I think is worth highlighting that wraps up the whole experience making it feel a bit tourist-trappy, despite the overall quite expensive cost which ends up making this a three star experience. Every paid van transfer (not only Orchid apparenlty) to Halong Bay does an UNSCHEDULED (ie. not mentioned in the intenary or on any of their documents), but mandatory 30 min stop at a Vietpearl roadside stop, 10 minutes from the marina where the only intention is for you to overpay for pearls and necklaces. This adds another half an hour to a long 90 minute van trip from Hanoi which is in my mind completely unnecessary and ruins the start of the trip. I'm sure its a deal between Vietpearl and the cruise lines of Halong Bay, but their customers/passengers are left completely in the dark on this (in my exprrience with Orchid anyway), and if feels scammy and part of a tourist trap. We left our hotel in Hanoi at 8am and weren't on the Classic Cruise main vessel until around 1PM, 5 hours after leaving the hotel... This is also not clearly mentioned. Intenary says transfer from marina to the main boat will happen via "speedboat", but this is another 40 minutes from leaving marina until you're on the boat. It's not a speed boat, its a slightly quicker tender than the other cruise lines have, and I can leave the term "speed boat" down to translation mishap. The start of the cruise experience feels extremely prolonged and frankly a waste of time before you even get on the boat. When you get to the boat however, things improve. Gorgeous rooms with fantastic views of the bay, though of course weather dependant.

- Manikanth (10/5): Amazing people and amazing cruise - Hannah and Dong, bobby have been great people on orchid premium. They have upgraded my orchid classic to premium at free of cost. And also celebrated my birthday in the best way it could be. It was a surprise. People have been super kind. Hannah has been sweetest person, and helped in every possible way she could. Cruise is amazing and we almost had the cruise for ourselves for next day. As they had only 5 rooms in cruise :) best for privacy and celebrations. Would recommend 10/10 Nothing

Myself and my husband were celebrating our honeymoon and the staff want above and beyond to celebrate us and make our stay extra special. Would highly recommend to anyone cruising in Halong bay. Special shoutout to Lily who was so kind and attentive.

All the staff make your stay so special and delightful in every - The experience and service from start to finish was exceptional. We would like to say a massive thank you to Rose for making it so special for our 10 year wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday. Rose decorated our evening table beautifully for our special occasions. Nothing was eve too much trouble for her and she always greeted us with a nice smile and personal welcome, knowing all our names, and food/drinks preferences. Smiley was also a happy person who makes the best speciality coffees each day and puts a smile on your face. Finally but not least, Lily our guide and front of house on the cruise was amazing, her communication and reassuring manner always made us feel that everything was going to plan and it all did. Oh and the lady who done the spa treatment was 10/10 - very friendly, and the spa was so clean and tranquil and she really did work all our knots from many tough days of walking and tracking prior to the cruise. We will certainly use this company again on our next trip to Vietnam. We miss all the staff already and wish they were coming with us on the rest of our trip…thank you x

- Louise (9/5): Very memorable - We were upgraded to the premium cruise - it was lovely, a smaller boat where we could get chatting to the other people. Great service from all the staff and a lovely host, Dong, fun kayaking and visiting the caves and a fab happy hour relaxing in the hot tub as the sun set. This isn’t the cheapest of the cruises on offer but looks like one of the best boats - our bedroom suite was fabulous. Not really complaints but just pointers - If you want more time to relax and enjoy the boat, a 2 night stay might be preferable. Arrive hungry too - there was a LOT of food.

O pessoal que trabalha no barco é realmente atencioso. Não é aquela coisa forçada de hotel, sabe? Eles são simpáticos de verdade e sempre prontos para ajudar. Isso conta muito quando você passa uns dias embarcado. O quarto surpreendeu positivamente. Tem espaço de sobra, não é aquele aperto que a gente às vezes espera em barcos. Dá para circular tranquilo com as malas abertas e ainda sobra área. Aqui está um dos pontos altos: o banheiro. O chuveiro funciona muito bem, com pressão boa e água quente na medida certa. E tem uma banheira posicionada de frente para a janela. É relaxante demais tomar um banho olhando para as formações rochosas de Ha Long Bay. Pode parecer detalhe, mas eleva bastante a experiência. As opções do café da manhã são variadas e tudo bem fresquinho. Tem desde frutas até pratos quentes, tanto opções vietnamitas quanto ocidentais. É daqueles cafés que você sai satisfeito para começar o dia de passeio. O Orchid Classic Cruise entrega uma experiência sólida em Ha Long Bay. Não é luxo exagerado, mas também não deixa a desejar nos aspectos importantes. Se você valoriza conforto, um bom atendimento e aqueles pequenos mimos que fazem diferença, tipo a banheira com vista, é uma boa pedida para conhecer a baía. Agora, tem alguns pontos que vale a pena você saber antes de embarcar. O ritmo das atividades é bem puxado. Tudo segue um cronograma apertado, então não espere aquele cruzeiro relaxante onde você fica curtindo o mar sem pressa. É mais corrido do que eu imaginava, o que pode cansar um pouco. Outra coisa que me chamou atenção: o barco principal fica parado a maior parte do tempo. Para fazer os passeios você precisa trocar para barcos menores várias vezes, e alguns trajetos até os pontos turísticos são meio longos. Acaba tirando um tempo que poderia ser aproveitado de outras formas. Se você pegar uma cabine mais na frente, prepare-se para barulho. Quando sobem e descem a âncora, e isso acontece com certa frequência, o som é bem perceptível. Pode atrapalhar quem tem sono leve ou quer descansar durante o dia. A comida é saborosa, mas é bem tradicional vietnamita mesmo. Se você não curte experimentar pratos diferentes ou tem o paladar mais conservador, pode ser que fique limitado nas opções. Não tem muita variedade de pratos ocidentais fora do café da manhã. E tem a questão das bebidas. Os preços a bordo são bem salgados. Se você gosta de tomar umas cervejas ou drinks, a conta sobe rápido. Vale a pena ir preparado para isso ou considerar levar algo permitido antes de embarcar.

C’était une belle expérience de 2j/1 nuit et le personnel était aux petits soins : merci Mel et Kent ! Nous étions peu sur le bateau ce qui était super. Propreté qui laisse à désirer. Certains équipements ne fonctionnaient pas bien : lampe, fenêtre…
