Dinesh (2/5): Terrible management but good food and location. - Fantastic location and great food. I stayed for 3 nights. Each night I was woken up by hotel music either in the corridor outside my room door or by the music they play at the entrance of the hotel. My room was over looking the entrance. I called reception every night to ask them to turn it off and each night they assured me it wouldn’t happen again. I spoke with the manager and he was totally unhelpful. Seems the staff were also quite clueless to assist. The manager offered no remedy except to move my room at 3am of my final night. The beds were also old and tired and the rooms themselves very dated.

Das ist eher ein Problem des Landes: Kreditkarten aus Europa gehen häufig nicht durch. Das kann schon etwas ärgerlich werden. Erst das 5. Kartenterminal hatte meine Karte akzeptiert. Das kann einen schon nervös machen.

And the prices for everywhere - The location- beach front They gave us the wrong room when we checked in, we arrived late at night and had to settle for what we didn’t want or pay for, and we had to fight to get the room we initially paid and booked for the next morning. There was a plumbing issue in the bathroom in our room and everything was overpriced. The buffet breakfast does not cater for dietary requirements ie lactose intolerant or gluten free foods.

My room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and quiet (I was not on the garden side). In the main restaurant it was very expensive, including the buffet, and there are few vegetarian options.

Lucia (10/5): Beautiful hotel, quite romantic, attentive staff, great food and a world class experience all round - The ocean views, the food, the friendliness of staff and the facilities were top tier Obviously by no doing of theirs but I was not aware that there is a club near by and we could hear the music all the way up in our hotel room, which was quite irritating as it only stopped at round about 4 AM, so in that respect I could not have a good nights sleep

Pearl (4/5): Disappointed! Didn’t expect such a beautiful hotel would allow for parties to go on until 4am. Especially for traveling - Beautiful location and well looked after. Music was blasting downstairs till 4:30am. It was so loud we couldn’t get some rest. My whole family is exhausted as we had been traveling the day before but got no rest at the hotel.

Zingitwa (8/5): - The location, the stuff members and the breakfast ❤️ I was in an executive suite thinking it will be more big and easily accessible for a wheelchair user to my surprise it was not accessible doors were too small for me to pass both sliding doors had steps had I was travelling alone I would have been in trouble couldn’t access both toilets they were too small we called reception to at least assist with a ramp for both sliding doors they did not we went to check out the paraplegic room the room was too small I don’t know how it was designed for a wheelchair user when it’s that small

Walsh (4/5): Two star hotel advertised as four star, yet charging five star plus prices. - Location was fine, breakfast was good. 50 USD for my wife and myself each way from the airport, (7 km ?) using the hotel shuttle is a total rip off. Having to pay a further 60 USD as a deposit for food or drinks when booking in was a new experience, a very arrogant assessment of your clientelle. 170 USD for the room plus 160 USD for airport shuttle and food deposit is a disgrace.
Bandil (10/5): Maputo weekend - First time in Maputo with my partner. This was a great way to get settled in. The room and views from the balcony were amazing. Hearing the calm crashing waves was ideal. Great hotel along the beach front! Stay was too short

MrsM (7/5): GREAT PLACE BUT NEEDS AN UPGRADE AND MODERNIZATION - The hotel is located in a nice area Beach thats close to hotel is super dirty,not for swimming You can hear pple praying at the beach that's across the hotel (its a public beach.) And 6am 😅forget about swimming at the hotel pool if you visit in December its always packed , the queues at breakfast in December can be a bit daunting.. toilet was making sounds esp downstairs u its ,they need to fix their drainage honestly.. .overall twas an OK stay ..We loved the Anniversary surprise cake and Champagne Thank you guys you made our Anniversaryspecial..will be back but not in December

Dit werd wel snel opgelost door de nachtwaker: de koks waren al bezig en we konden zelf snel een box gaan samenstellen . Eind goed al goed.

Jörn (8/5): Southern Sun Maputo ist eine Oase. Würde immer wiederkommen. - Die Lage, das Zimmer (Ambassador Suite) und das Frühstück. Die Preise im Restaurant sind zu hoch. Wir hatten dreimal Frühstück und dreimal erlebten wir, dass Essensprodukte keinen festen Platz haben.

There weren't enough pool chairs & some guests hoarded chairs that they weren't using at all & management did nothing at all. The 2nd breakfast area (overflow) did not have the same food variety as the first area. For the price i paid, i really expected more than the experience i got.

Arno (8/5): - The location is perfect and the staff is very very friendly and helpful. Safe parking for your vehicle on the grounds is a bonus. Pool overlooking the ocean was brilliant and although it was raining a bit you could walk directly onto the beach. Breakfast was a spread and so much to choose from. Worth every sent. Aircon was not working and dripping the whole time on the floor, making the carpet wet so the room smelled stuffy and wet. Opened the window for fresh air, but with nou Mosquito Nets that did nit work very well.

siphiwe (9/5): Best attention to details. - The staff were simply the best. The beach is at your door step. Food was amazing and a well equipped gym. Pool closes at 18:00 and there was never any reasonable explanation for this ridiculous policy. Like most of the time the only time to swim is in the evening because during the day the sun is basking hot. Kids are not well catered for. A kids play area or something to keep the kids entertained will do a world of a difference.
