Bed covers had holes and room in general had seen a lot of wear and tear. It rained hard the night I stayed and outside my door was a huge puddle of water that was really noisy. Otherwise clean though.

- Julie (3/5): I will not stay here again. - The man behind the counter was very friendly, and the location was good especially in respect to App. State. The pictures online look so cute, but it was not nearly as cute in person. I stayed in a cabin behind the main facility - apparently there are several additional buildings in the back of the motel. It’s possible that the main rooms are better, but my room was a real dump. The blinds were broken and hanging lopsided, the carpet and furniture was stained, the toilet leaked, and the furniture was mismatched and very worn. The bed was enormous and the mattress was very comfortable- that was a good thing. However, the bed looked like something found on the side of the road, and it had a mirrored canopy. Overall, the the room was disappointing, overpriced considering the state of the room, and uncomfortable.
- Sarah (8/5): Cabin #45 - The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. The fireplace is great! Mirrors on the top of the bed was very odd. The bathroom floor oozes water up through the floor due to missing or cracked grout. A major future issue if not repaired. Reported it to tge front desk.

Check in was easy but there was a little uncomfortable moment between the women checking me in and a gentleman offering directions. Pictures on the website made it appear to be better kept in regards to the play area and pool. It was a convient place to stay on the way to tweetsie railroad with decent prices. Overall i have no major complaints.

- Dion R (2/5): Avoid this place - The photos online are misleading. The room smelled of mold. The bed frame was made of vinyl that was ripped, cracked and exposed materials that could not be cleaned or sanitized. The bathroom was covered in hairs that been there from many previous stays.

- Blake (10/5): - When we arrived, the room we were initially given had a few things that still needed to be cleaned so we called the front desk to make them aware and see if we could just get someone to clean it. The front desk promptly called back and offered us an upgrade instead. Not only did they come and look at it themselves, but they showed us to the cabin we'd be in and were extremely kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a stellar experience! We will definitely be back!

Front desk was wonderful helped me jump my car battery and very friendly I’ll be back to Boone because of the staff and will try a solo cabin next time

Whirlpool tub was useless, no water pressure, just a trickle of water, ran out of hot water before water level was up to jets. Neighbors in other rooms either drunk or drugged up, up all night screaming about fighting the Illuminati. I asked for refund agreed to $299 waiting for refund. Not a Master Host Resort. Possible section 8 housing??
- Shane (10/5): Great place! - It was a great place overall. It was spacious and had a balcony with a nice view. The location was great for where I was going. The only thing I would say is that it was a little overpriced and should have been no more than $100.

- Anne (4/5): - *The bed slept great! *The location for parking was very tight. *The TV was too small, but the cable service (ie., the channel guide and number of available channels) was excellent. *Coffee pot and cups were good; however, there were no coffee packets in the room upon our arrival. When we called about it, we had to go get it ourselves…..possibly no room service available? *There was no ice machine at our lodge and the ice maker in the main office generated ice very slowly. *The room in general was rather old and dark and in need of major updates. *The price seemed high for the quality of the accommodation.

- Robert (10/5): Awesome stay - We really enjoyed our stay. The people are very nice. Our hotel room felt like a cabin. Refrigerator, microwave, television, whirlpool bath, hot water, everything worked. The towels and wash rags were a little flimsy, and the floor might have been vacuumed a teeny bit better, but for the rustic feel, everything was very nice. We would definitely come back. 4-wheel drive is a very good idea!

- Randy (9/5): The cabin was beautiful inside and out and was surrounded by trees which gave a country vac. feel. - The cabin I stayed in was beautiful full log construction and stained wood interior that was just what I was looking for. There wete small bits of trash on the outside walking areas like wrappers, cigarette butts or pcs of paper with a couple plastic drink bottles as well that was left by other travelers that I felt the cleaning personnel could have kept up with.

- Verified traveler (6/5): 3-star rating, needs updating! - In dire need of interior remodel/ updating! The front desk service was very friendly and easy check in. My stay was five nights and my room was semi cleaned twice... which consisted of towel swap and partial garbage removal. Towels were worn out and rough, blanket had visible stains evidence that they had not been laundered. Bedspreads had cigarette burn holes and most likely not cleaned. Pillows had dirty hair smell. Water temperature was great, although sink faucet was very difficult to turn on and leaked. Tub had stains and consistent leak from faucet, toilet Bowl was very stained. Outlets were not securely attached to the walls. Overhead light as you entered the room was dim... probably need light bulbs replaced. Carpet was very stained and worn, be sure to keep your shoes on! Driveway to the lodgements needs attention. Very quiet and peaceful in the lodgement area, where I stayed. Walking distance to an excellent Mexican restaurant and Speedway gas station, close proximity to other restaurants, businesses. - ROBERT (8/5): A Blast From The Past!!! - This place was straight out of the 1970's, you even fill out a Guest Registration CARD, yes, that's right, an actual card that you write on with a pen. I haven't done that in tbe US for over 30 years. :) This place is super retro, a blast from the past, the staff was super friendly and the bed was comfy, the place could have been cleaner but it was okay. If you want to experience an old school motel, this is the place. :)

- Joey (2/5): Too expensive.$129? Yeah right. - Had a roof. Cleanliness. No wifi. No ice. Roaches. Weird stains. Smelled like mold. All my belongings smelled like mold when I left. Woke up at 8 am due to someone doing vehicle repairs. Quite honestly I’m calling tomorrow and requesting a refund.

Only 1 packet of coffee for 3 nights. Bathroom sink is leaking and rotting out the bathroom floor and vanity. Instead of fixing it they just put a bucket under the sink. Badly needs some fixing up.
