Guest Reviews
- Teresita (10/5): - A great place to rest in former president place.
- john (8/5): - Street noise a problem.
- Allen (10/5): - It was convenient for me.
- Keith (8/5): Older but friendly and comfortable - Older place with friendly, helpful staff. It was comfortable. No elevator for the three floors.
- Joseph (4/5): - This is a year 1998 hotel and needs to keep up with a newer technology. They still using manual keys. The cr door is broken and no Wi-Fi. But the area is clean and staff are great.
- Michael (10/5): - Centrally located in the downtown area.
- Mike (10/5): - Staff was great!
- Marites (10/5): - Friendly and honest staff…
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel, service was next level. A wonderful stay.
- 727wendyv (8/5): Charming but appliances are not working - The hotel is very charming but the appliances are not working. TV remote and control is not working, we had to unplug the TV to turn it off.
The receptionist, which is the same person manning the restaurant, is very nice. The breakfast food is also very nice.
- Michael L (10/5): - Wonderful
- TonyL732 (10/5): Location-prefect, non-pretentious great Hotel. - Our family were walk-in guests, having cancelled and moved from that Rudolfo Suites which we found very dirty and low quality. One call and the accommodating lady on the other end of the line quickly reserved a room for us. The place is small, vintage-designed and with a lot of character. The room needed a few paint touches and the bathroom needed a few grout fill-ins, but nothing major. It was clean, sufficiently big, the air conditioning (obviously new split-type) and flat smart TV, were good. Internet was reasonably fast. Breakfast was decent and the staff were friendly. It was clear that the place was run like a a good (3-star?) hotel. Nothing pretentious but all good.
- Maikah (4/5): - No refrigerator in our room as advertised.
- Reynaldo (8/5): Nice location! - Place is outdated but comfy, clean, and nice location!
- andrewmarians (10/5): Short but memorable stay 😊 - Had a great stay at this property with my wife, kids and my dad. We all enjoyed the homey-feels of the hotel and grand staircase that lead up to the rooms. Our room was spacious and complete with all the necessary items inside plus a lazy boy which is a bonus! The staff are what makes our stay truly memorable. They are so friendly and nice. The two staff even went over and beyond when they washed the car we rented, after they found out that we needed to have it washed before returning it and that we didn't have enough time to bring it to the car wash establishment. Location of the hotel is great right next to the center of Roxas City. We really recommend this property if you are going to Roxas anytime soon.
- Kent (8/5): Nice place - Nice, classic hotel. Only negative was the TV didn't work right. Remotes didn't work. Street noise was pretty bad.
- Iain (10/5): - The food is always excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, room clean and comfortable!
- Danilo (10/5): - excellent location excellent service
- Nemesia (10/5): Excellent - The Hotel location is excellent in the heritage zone.Staff were very helpful .from front desk to bellboy to cleaners I love the hotel decorations.Washroom is clean. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Timothy (10/5): - It’s haunted (you will hear strange things at night) but otherwise an amazing place to stay and the staff are super friendly :)
- LUZ (10/5): - Rooms located upstairs may not be friendly for seniors. An elevator maybe necessary. I like the food served during breakfast. I was able to sleep well.
- localguide13 (4/5): Disappointing - The presidential suite we booked was anything but presidential: the only window in the room faces the next building's firewall (no sunlight comes in), the bedside lamps do not have outlets to plug in to (no night light), there's a massage chair that doesn't work, the air-conditioning unit was noisy, limited bathroom amenities (shampoo and soap, that's it), etc. There were no electric outlets around the beds so forget about charging your phone while in bed. The beds were very comfortable though.
The staff are generally nice if you talk to them in the local dialect. But most of them don't seem knowledgeable about the services that they offer, and generally lack the hospitable disposition that Ilonggos are well-known for. The souvenir shop offered interesting items, but the person in charge of the shop had no answers to our questions.
The location is the one thing that gives this hotel major props, being right at the very center of the city proper. Most interesting spots are 1 to 2 blocks away, and most of the rest are just a tricycle ride away. The city center lights up at night, so be sure to walk around especially across the old bridge in front of the cathedral.
- Leonora (4/5): - The building is too old. The bathroom lots of black ants crawling around on the sink and on the floor. I stayed for 5 days or nights they clean only 1 time the bedroom.
The bathtowels is very2 old and there’s a hole ,no hand towel and face towel. There’s a crack bet the wall and door it’s scary and unsafe . This is my bad experiences to stay in hotel.
- G2Kpauly (10/5): Nice comfy 2 nights - I stayed here 2 nights and was quite happy here. The rooms are clean, the bed comfy. The staff were friendly enough and if I needed a trike a couple of times they helped me get one and a fair price. Breakfast was nice. The location is good but abit of roadworks going on outside. Internet is good. I'd reccomend.
- Corazon (8/5): - The place was clean, quiet and safe. The staff are very helpful and accommodating.
However, the property is already old.
- Maximino (2/5): - I paid through Expedia for two rooms (a single and a double occupancy) but when we got to the hotel we told at the front desk that Expedia only reserved for one double. I showed the receptionist my confirmation and requested them to confirm with Expedia. Once in the room the front called to say that I need to pay for the other room which I did.
I requested Expedia to look at into this matter but was told they cannot reach the hotel management.
I’ve been using Expedia for the last decade and I have a gold status. So far I never had an experience like this. Can anyone help me get my refund.
- divina (8/5): - The hotel itself is ok. No frills staff are accommodating. The most important factor is it’s location. In the center. Walkable to plaza, church, public market and various restaurant. It’s also easy to get transport,
- crystalbP5381GX (6/5): Average - "Location was nice but its a bit noise from our Villas but We really enjoy our vacation here. Hopefully we came back here soon also.
Note:
Don't take the Villas near the pool, if you do not enjoy noise.
- Y4365HCmartinm (4/5): If you love noise and like to be cheated, this is the place for you. If not, keep looking somewhere else. - At checkout they tried to charge us for the breakfast which is included in the room rate. When we complained, the took it off the bill and apologized for the delay. They did not apologize for the attempted fraud.
Many people here write that the place is for nature lovers who want a quiet place. I have no idea why they write this. At the pool they play music at you in the volume of a dance hall. In the evening they show an action movie full blast. If you can't follow the story line, don't worry. It has none. It is all about the shootings and explosions.
In your room there is no escape from the music either. They play 'background' music in the corridors at a volume that you just have to listen to it, like it or not. But here they are not entirely true to their own concept. It's not loud enough to dance.
That they have a Coca Cola warehouse on the premises with trucks coming and going doesn't make it any better. And the neighboring sawmill also contributes to the acoustic background.
The only positive points are the quality of the food and the comfortable and clean rooms.
- worldtraveller_ph (10/5): A Pleasant Stay - The Roxas President's Inn is a "vintage" and charming hotel in the city center. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are named after Philippine Presidents and they have the nostalgic feel, they are also well maintained. We enjoyed so much their delicious Filipino breakfast and yummy pastries. We would not hesitate to stay here again even if there are newer hotels in Roxas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s accessible to everything, short tricycle ride (if you are commuting) to either of the two large malls but walking distance to Catholic Church, the city hall and capitol building. The downside these days (and it’s not a fault of the hotel) is that tricycle drivers have become choosy on where they would take consumers, unless they pay extra. The city hopefully will phase out tricycles and get a more updated pulick transport such as keeps or buses. It’s about time. Roxas City has grown as a city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is at the heart of the city, a walking distance at the plaza, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, tourist spots, a single tricycle ride to Baybay and other destinations are nearby.
- donngie (6/5): Istorya Forest - Location at Istorya Forest is great. It is a secluded area with a wide range variety of Food especially the oven brick pizza. We loved our squid and shrimp chips too.The only downside is we advised them that we have PWD ID beforehand (My husband's ID), by the way we already consumed 350 entrance per head and we exceeded more since we loved the foods, upon billing out I sorted and solely check the price with the bill and no discount indicated, I advised them again that we have PWD ID then the waiter replied that it is already discounted. I didn't bother to insist since I dont want to ruin our dine. Will surely come back and hopefully the next time we could use our privilege discount and the management should be transparent regards on this since this is punishable by law when they still keep on neglecting.
- kawahagi (8/5): - 停電から復旧した際、エアコンが作動しなかった。他の部屋は作動していた。しばらく暑い思いをした。スタッフを呼んだら解決した。
- vi0let0313 (6/5): Great Location - No hassle check in, after showing my ID was given a room key and waa ushered to the 3rd floor. No elevators mind you, walking up wasn’t that bad. Our room waa spacious enough. Aircon was located under a window at the foot of the bed so couldn’t quite catch the cool air if you know what I mean.
When I used the bathroom there was a telephone type shower that is not steady so you have to hold it when you take a bath. The sink was clogged and water only receded after a minute or two.
The room we got was facing the street so you can hear cars and tricycles all night.
Good thing we we were out the whole day and so we were not so bothered by the noise outside. The hotel’s side street was being repaired so imagine the ruckus it created. The best thing about this hotel though is the location. It’s near the city hall, a church, a museum, banks and a few minutes away from everywhere.
- shalalei (8/5): Strategic Location Great Hotel In Roxas - Location - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ near the airport, establishments
Food - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reasonable price, palatable food
Room - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ clean, comfy, good wifi connection ,tv screen huge ,mini ref
Service- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ polite staff, helpful
Price - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ affordable
Note:
This is just a small hotel
No elevator
You can hear transportation buzzing
Recommendation:
If you just want a descent place at a reasonable price to stay in this will do. If you want a staycation this will not do. Look for a resort.
- Edith (8/5): - Very good stay. The helpful and attentive staff says it all. Convenient central location. Good breakfast. It is good to stay at RPI where it feels like home.
- kasalamd (10/5): A very presidential stay! - Roxas President’s Inn on the outside may have looked small and ordinary but our stay was nothing short of Presidential!
Located in the heart of the city, it was very convenient being just a stone’s throw away from the Cathedral, museum, Rotonda bridge and market. Reception lobby also doubles up as a small cafe with another room for overflow big group diners that also serves as a souvenir shop.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with appropriate simple Filipiniana decor accents and proper room & toilet amenities.
The staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly, even going out of their way to attend to one’s requests.
Definitely, whether for business or pleasure, RPI is a good place to come back to and stay at whenever at the Seafood Capital of the Philippines!
- Bienvenido (6/5): Charming place - The place is charming and comfortable located in the center of the city.
- allyq2017 (10/5): Classic Place, Modern Quality of Service - I made my booking in this place last December 2018 after reading some reviews online. I needed to spend two nights at Roxas to meet and relax with a long time friend. My stay was a pure delight as this place provides the antithesis of both the old and the new of hospitality service. Upon arrival, I can obviously notice the significance of history in this place as i relished reading various old framed newspapers hanged on their walls and the well preserved structures and designs of the hotel that can be perceived to be strongly influenced by the glory and history of its past. I appreciate this kind of preservation as it mirrors the number of years it has long withstand.
Knowing that this place is meaningfully preserved, anyone will be surprised with the quality of service they can provide. They have the best wireless internet connection in any hotel i have tried as they provide fiber optic internet service to all its customers. Turndown service is practiced well and staff are immensely wonderful in their jobs.
The foods they served were sumptuous as well. Their pasta bolognese is a must try and their french toast is so fancy.
It was a two day vacation of great experience. Hope we can come back.
- Peter (8/5): A gem in Roxas - Exceeded my expectations. All staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good, I did not have a bad meal. Location was what I wanted, near downtown. Room was small but that was what I wanted, forced me to be out and interact eith others.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All staffs very nice. The peoperty is clean. The church is walking distance from the inn. Close to the market (fruit stands and groceries) Easy access to transportation (trycicle).
- Thelma (6/5): Holiday in Roxas - Overall it was ok. Staff are nice! Location is good!
- eddcabardo (8/5): Right at the heart of the city - The hotel is situated at the heart of the city. Its near the market, the church, the municipal hall and is quite accessible. It is not a new hotel but its rooms are well kept. The staff were accommodating and very helpful. They make you feel comfortable and really welcome. The price for the accommodation and the food were reasonable.
- Renato (8/5): Relaxing Visit to Roxas! - Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The Manager, Ms Edna, gave us a lot of advise on what and where to go. The guards, drivers and other staff are very courteous all the time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Strategically located very close to town hall. Easy access to tricycles. Surrounded by restaurants cafe and bakery. Hotel staff very professional and will do everything to make stay comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel room is a bit noisy from the cars and tricycles outside and not properly insulated so room was still slightly warm when we woke up even with airconditioning on the whole night. But will definitely suggest this place to anyone!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location, but had an issue at the check-in - The accommodation choices are limited whether within Roxas City or on Hotels.com, so our decision to book this hotel was primarily due to its location, which was right at downtown Roxas. It's a short ride away from the airport, and we were picked up by the hotel's complimentary shuttle service. The check-in was far from ideal; there was a misunderstanding on how the definition of "Extra person" in the booking was going to be interpreted. Apparently theirs didn't include an extra bed, and that the extra person charged by Hotels.com should share the bed with fellow guests. I thought we were going to be charged for the extra bed, but they sorted out and did not require us additional payment, as it should be. We didn't experience the same thing at our next accommodation that we booked using the same search settings and on Hotels.com as well. The room was okay for a night's stay, but the whole place is in dire need of a face-lift. The lobby functions as a café. Breakfast was typical. Over-all, stay here for the location, consider other options if you prioritize comfort.
- Jeffrey (4/5): Not much of a hotel for the money - The room was really small not really considered to be a matrimony suite....., there were nothing that indicated it was a matrimony suite..,, ... the hotel offered no elevator and we had to climb 3 flights of stairs with our luggage The place isn’t well insulated so you can hear everything from the streets , I asked to be moved to a lower floor unity and when we got moved to the other room the room was even smaller and didn’t have everything the first room had ....... the room was still loud you can heat everything from the streets ....., my wife and I got no sleep. The room service wasn’t too great the free breakfast was small and the quality wasn’t that good. They never even came to clean my room and when I ordered food from room service they never took my finished plates so the room got dirtier ...,,, the hotel had no swimming pool or much to offer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice stay! - The staff, especially the hotel vehicle service driver, were very nice. The driver was especially helpful and took the time to assist my elderly father get around and accompanies him whenever he needed to do something. The hotel itself could use a lot of updating though and there was no elevator so my 80y/o father had to go up and down stairs which was a challenge.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The shuttle to the airport was great and very quick. Staff personnel were both friendly and courteous. However, there were additional expenses charged for having a couple in a "single deluxe" without anything being provided for the charge. Rather strange.
- Maria Cristin (6/5): President’s Inn —- service makes up for it all - All staff are friendly and helpful. Only discomfort was the lack of elevators. For a 66 year-old like me, the 15-step staircase is too much. Food in the dining room, particularly seafoods, is quite expensive, though ithe city is supposed to be the seafood capital, at least in the Visayas. Not many good restaurants in the area. Internet access was nil, if not poor.
- Peter (10/5): Very good - Totally satisfied with the hotel.
- hawnalan (8/5): Came to roxas to satisfy my craving for fresh oysters n seafoods - Roxas Pres Inn is staffed by courteous, warm n knowledgeable people. The Hotel looks unassuming from the outside but is a veritable museum w well appointed rooms. The food, we had b/fast n dinner was delicious. Its centrally located near great restos, shopping etc..wud definitely return.
- SupervillainLui (8/5): Homiest Coziest Room Ever - The facade isn't a sight to behold, even bordering on plain. The surroundings can be crowded on a busy day. The lobby tends to get crowded during meal times since it also serves as dining hall. No elevators or lifts so that one has to content himself with using the stairs that are quite interesting anyway. The room, once ventilated, lends the coziest stay. The bed, its pillows, and the covers are comfortable enough for a good sleep, as is the lazyboy. The lighting works well with the interior decoration, and the furniture show as much character as the relics downstairs. As with any other place, the staff are friendly and kind when treated similarly. Free breakfast upon booking, and they were kind enough to accommodate my vegan request of all fruits only.
- Lui (8/5): Great Hotel for City Touring - Only minutes away from the city's attractions and restaurants, the hotel is a great place to use as headquarters for a walking tour. Expedia booking much cheaper than front desk transactions.
- Faithy18 (8/5): In the center of everything - The hotel is located near 2 restaurants, one is a Manukan (inasal) and another a regular restaurant. It’s accessible with tricycle that could bring you to places. The interior is cozy and the best things is the hotel so far is the comfortable bed and pillows. The room is spacious too.
- CzarEmmanuel (8/5): Very homey and centrally located - It was my first time to stay at President's Inn in Roxas City in Capiz. and it was a very pleasant stay. The place looks like an old mansion turned into a hotel, with a grand staircase near the reception desk, some antiques on display, etc.
I was accommodated in one of the inn's 15 suites named after former presidents of the Philippines (except one). There are rooms good for 1, 2 or 3 pax. Breakfast was included in the price. Aside from the comfortable rooms (air-conditioned, with private rest and shower room, TV with cable channels, and strong wi-fi signal), one edge of President's Inn over other accommodations in the city is its accessibility. The place is close to famous landmarks in the city center (like the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, the Manuel Roxas ancestral house, museums, a Spanish bridge, and so forth). It is also near the airport,
Service-wise, the staff were very accommodating, food served at the restaurant was good, 24-hour room service was quick, etc.). The cost of accommodation is also within everybody's budget. From the outside, the inn may seem quite old and unimpressive, but if you're after a comfortable, relaxing and peaceful stay, then nothing beats the Roxas President's Inn. Highly recommended.
- chonagregorio (10/5): Quaint yet Not Scary - Stayed in Osmena Room. Here are the things with mentioning about this hotel:
1. Paid P1,075 for a room good for 1, with aircon and inclusive of breakfast! Value for money!
2. No elevator yet the staff are hospitable enough to help u with the luggage.
3. Free breakfast serves 3 in 1 coffee. Not bad. Its free afterall!
4. Old fashioned details yet at the heart of the city. Makes the hotel homey and not scary.
5. Bathroom is newly renovated and clean! Just the water pressure isnt fabulous. But good enough tho.
6. I love the wood-inspired interiors: floor design, head board and the door.
7. I love the floral bed sheet cover.
8. Room has telephone, cable TV and wifi. Signal not stable tho.
All in all, my experience was great! Will definitely recommend!
- travelonashoestring (10/5): Wonderful Time at Roxas President's Inn - I really had a wonderful time at Roxas President's Inn. The staff and most especially the manager of the hotel is so friendly. They recommended the must see places in Capiz. Plus where to dine in and they made sure my stay is pleasant. It felt like home! I would come back again and recommend them to everyone!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not good for resting. - The Inn is right smack in the traffic area - the noise of motorcycles and cars passing thru goes up to the early morning. Very hard to sleep unless you are really, really tired. Not enough little things for couples travelling - benches for luggage to put on, towel racks and chairs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed for one night, both the beds were a bit hard and not very comfortable. Front desk was accommodating with my requests. Paid for one additional breakfast and felt it was a bit much for what was received. Hotel was comfortable and nice to walk through
- Roldan (8/5): Value for money - Great stay. Staff were very attentive and responsive to our needs.
- Judith (8/5): Good for the price - Overall our stay was comfortable. Two issues were that I booked the room for 4 people and the site said free breakfast but the front desk said only free for3. Had to pay for fourth and bacon was old. Also we were not allowed to keep air conditioning remote because they have lost too many so had to call to have adjustments .
