• Vanesa (8/5): Buena estancia cerca de Yala - Son muy amables, se preocupan por que estéis como en casa. Las vistas a los campos de arroz son muy bonitas. Y buena ubicación para hacer safari en Yala. Lo único que a nosotros nos tocó una habitación donde el grifo del agua caliente salía muy poca agua. Pero salía agua caliente y puedes ducharte.

• Ross (10/5): Good value and nice hotel/rooms - Lovely helpful family. Rooms are big and very clean, amazing value for money. Organised our yala safari for a good price which we really enjoyed. They gave us advice on which bus to get and even took us to the bus station for no charge. Not much directly around the property but only 15 minute walk from centre.

We had an amazing and experienced driver, we got really lucky and saw 3 leopards, 5 elephants, a crocodile, monkeys, buffolos and many more. The room was nice and clean. We had breakfast and dinner at the property and it was local and tasty.

Very friendly and helpful owner who organised the Yala jeep safari which turned out to be amazing. I forgot to organise an early morning Tuktuk to the bus station when checking out, so the owner very kindly drive me to it at 5am, which is just so above and beyond expectations. Thank you. I stayed two nights and would highly recommend and would go back any time. N/a

Ci ha caricato il 10% sulla cena e sulla camera.

Brak kołdry (wprawdzie częsty w hotelach na Sri Lance), samo prześcieradło do przykrycia, na moim łóżku powitał mnie rój małych mrówek faraona.... Na korytarzu pełno insektów. Dobrze, że to tylko 1 noc i wszyscy byli zmęczeni, inaczej trudno byłoby zasnąć.

Sin dal primo momento mi sono sentito a casa, il gestore si è messo a disposizione con tutta la famiglia per far si che la mia esperienza fosse ottimale e ci sono riusciti. Prezzi per il safari più che ragionevoli e mi ha anche aiutato a trovare un passaggio alla prossima metà con sconto sulla tratta. Davvero un peccato non soggiornare qui se ne avete la possibilità. Continuate così Owin Rose! Siete i migliori!

Our room had a terrace with a nice view of the rice fields. Even before arriving, we had received a proposal from the owner regarding the safari tour. In the end, we were satisfied with the tour that was proposed. The owner (as probably all owners of other hotels in the area) is very pushy about offering safari services immediately upon arrival. In the end, I really liked his tour, but I would have preferred a more balanced approach, especially after a long trip.

• Mark (6/5): Hotel under construction, check its finished before you book - Location is great. The room has a balcony overlooking some rice fields. Beds was comfortable, room spacious. The owner dropped us at the bus station for free which was nice. The moment we walked into reception, before I took my pack off, they wanted us to book their safari. They only seemed interested for us to book their safari to the point where I had to ask them to stop pressuring us. The hotel is under construction. The resturant was closed and rubble in the garden. The hot water had a unpleasant odour.

Great spot to stay in for a Yala trip and super comfortable, in a lovely garden :)

• Christofer (10/5): Exceptional - Very close to Yala national park and they set you up with an experienced driver. The family take good care of you and are very helpful and service minded. They happily borrow you their bike if you have a licence otherwise bicycle. Nice location inbetween rice fields and a nice terrace where they can serve you dinner if you wish. They also serve beers and other bevrages at the hotel. Over all a much pleasant stay and would deffintly go back if I am ever around again!

Every service including water bottle supplies were payable through an extra charge. On top of that there was a service charge applied to hotel room charges, food charges also.

Very friendly people, I felt like a family member. They organised everything for me, very good safari, private transport, good advice to visit around Tissamaharama. I recommend to everybody. • Janani (10/5): Awesome - The host and his family were very welcoming. The room was clean, and the washroom was well-maintained. Despite the late hour, the host kindly prepared dinner for me at 11:30 pm and was very attentive. The meal was delicious, enough for two people, and had the perfect level of spice. During my stay, I had a knee injury, and the host and his family were extremely helpful. They carried my bag to my room and even recommended good ointments for my injury. The host also dropped me off at the bus stand free of charge. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to family and friends.

He took us to a local spot where hundreds of fruit bats gathered in a massive tree and at sundown they all start flying around.It was an awesome sight.He also helped us with a Driver/Guide for our onward journey.Special thanks to Sahoni I hope I’ve spelled it correctly.She speaks good English and was there for us whenever we needed.Overall we had a lovely stay at Owin Rose.👌🏻

Further more the family organized us an unforgettable Safari to the Bundula National Park (it's not so terribly crowded like in Yala NP!) for a fair price. And we could walk in a few minutes to the beautiful Tissa Lake - so we really had a good time there.

The hotel also has a restaurant, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. They arranged a safari for us to Yala and Udawalawe National Parks, which was a great experience. Additionally, they offer a taxi service, making transportation easy. The entire family was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We would definitely come back!

The bed was also uncomfortable and the bathroom was very small with almost no space to put our things. The common areas were dirty with dust and a lot of death insects.

Give it a few months to recove - The family that oversees this place is very friendly and booked very good safaris for us. They also were able to order us some food that we requested, limited options available. Very quiet setting during early mornings and later in afternoons. Easy to grab a tuk tuk to go explore. We felt a bit misguided by the reviews as much of the place is under construction and they don’t have a functioning restaurant area although the photos show that there is. There were many areas of the place that had piles of items laying around; gave it the look of not being used. There is construction going on, loud pounding and drilling when we had a later check-out day; that was very displeasing. This has potential but is in no way a 9 rating right now … could be in the near future when they get themselves organized.

The food will be served in your room or on the terrace with amazing views. I can highly recommend staying here. I had an amazing time.

• Brian (10/5): Best Yala/Bundala stay - Mahanama, Sahani and Vibu made our stay perfect. We felt part of their family They provided superb Sri Lankan food overlooking picturesque rice paddies and their huge variety of tropical fruit trees. Mahanama organised safaris with knowledgeable guides to Yala and Bundala. They also showed us the sites of Tissa....temples, lakes, sunset with bats! Nothing
• Jayasekara (10/5): As per our USA friends , Its marvelous safari hotel - I booked this hotel for my USA friends, They informed me, the owner, Mr.Mahanama was very kind and provide exceptional service for the US based visitors.He arranged very delicious local requsted foods, There were 3 Yala safari Package under hotel with vehicle options , We would like to recommend this without any doubt. • Lourenco (10/5): Exceptional - Owner very helpful and friendly. Very quiet spot and nice view. Really nice to work and chill. Owner has bikes that you can take to go around the village. I recommend and had a nice experience
• Nrc7 (7/5): Good - Convenient location. It's an extremely hot place but there's no fridge in the room.
